The Watcher

Time meant nothing to him. He whose sole job was to watch, and protect. and he filled that job, and died protecting a boy. But that did not mean he stopped watching.

To those in the galaxy, an empire died, and and a new hope was found in Luke Skywalker, and he watched, as he had always watched. He watched as Luke did what he had been born to do. And he smiled, for he had always known that Luke had it in him.

And time marched on.

At first, he gave advice whenever he could, but found after a period, that it were best that he just watch.

And time moved along.

He watched Lukes tears, and he watched his joys, for watching was all he could do now. And that did not bother him at all.

And time passed on.

he watched as Luke fought war after war after war, the ups and downs of relationships, yet holding those he loved close, and never letting go.

And time kept moving.

He watched, and smiled as Luke finally fell in love, and married. He watched and chuckled now and then at their married life, and the banter, and love that was shared.

And at times, time seemed to stop.

And as Luke drew his last breath, his loved ones near, the watcher finally said goodbye, for he was there at his beginning, and he was there at the end, always and forever - watching.

And time flew on.
