Bart
Blair was on the phone.
She had called for a town car.
I had rigged the town car with an explosive.
Serena and Chuck hugged.
"Be safe, big bro, alright?"
"Yeah."
"Don't go getting yourself killed. Or I might just have to bring you back and kill you myself."
Both of them laughed.
"You keep an eye on this one. Make sure he ain't doing nothing that Mom is gonna be disappointed in him for."
"Even though he deserves it."
"Alright. Clearly i'm gonna have to count on somebody else to keep him in line."
They hugged.
"I hope you come back."
"Maybe. I don't really know."
"You working or Lily..."
"She's buying me a penthouse in LA, so I have somewhere to live while directing films."
"You be safe too."
"Yeah. I'm not the one he's trying to kill."
They hugged.
Serena walked out.
She slid in the town car.
I thought it was for Blair.
Everybody screamed as the car burst into flames.
Chuck was protecting Blair's head since they were near the door.
"Serena is in there!"
"Shit!"
He ran out.
Chuck opened the passenger side backseat door.
"Give me your hand!"
She grabbed his hand.
Chuck pulled Serena out of the car.
Half of her face was burned.
"How bad is it?"
"Um... You might want to have your Dad look at it."
"Damn it. Mom is gonna kill me."
"At least, you're not dead."
"Why did he try to kill me? I just saved his life."
"He wasn't aiming for you."
"The town car-"
"Blair called for it."
"I will have Dad look at it. But I'm leaving."
"Arthur, take Serena home. Make sure she has everything she needs, got it?"
"Got it."
He put her in his Limo.
"And then come back after you drop her at the airport.'
"Okay, Mr. Bass."
Chuck backed away.
They waved at each other through the door.
"Serena?!" Chuck yelled when he walked back in.
He shoved me.
"What the hell is wrong with you?! She didn't do anything to you!"
Serena
I had grabbed my bags from upstairs.
A bellhop had put them on a cart for me.
Dan walked into the building.
I scoffed when I saw him.
"Oh, what are you doing here?"
I noticed the suitcase in Dan's hand.
"And with a suitcase?"
"I got an apartment in the building."
"What?"
"I finally realized where I wanna be. Ans it's here where you are."
"Where I used to be. I have no interest in being anywhere around here anymore."
"I don't believe that. You run away to- To Spain, Upstate, Boarding school, Santorini. You always come back."
"Well, that was then. That was before I knew what this place could do to people. Before I saw it turn you into Bart Bass."
"I'm not Bart. But what's wrong with wanting power? You have it. Maybe if you stopped hating it, you'd stop hating yourself. Then you can finally be happy wh- Where you belong."
"Okay, you know what? I have no interest in being psychoanalyzed by my evil biographer."
"Serena, I know I've hurt you but I still love you."
I rolled my eyes.
"I've lost track of it at times. I have made mistakes. I've made massive, heartbreaking mistakes. But I have never stopped loving you."
"Well, excuse me if I don't fall for that or you ever again." I retorted.
"Please, just... If you come upstairs for a second I have something I can show you that'll prove it."
"I've seen all I need to see. I have a plane waiting."
I walked pass Dan.
Dan
I pulled the manuscript of the other Serena chapter out of my bag.
I slid it into one of her bags.
Serena
I glanced at Dan one more time before sliding into Chuck's Limo.
The bellboy put my bags in the trunk.
I was calling Dad.
William
I was getting a call.
I was hoping it wasn't Ivy again.
I grabbed my phone.
It was Serena.
I answered it.
"Serena."
"Dad."
"What's up?"
"Um... I ended up burning my face. I was wondering if you could look at it."
"How did that even happen?"
"The feud between Bart and Chuck. I had Blair call a town car for me. I guess you can connect the dots there.'
"Of course I will."
"Where are you?"
"Your grandmother's Hamptons house."
"Alright. I'll be there soon."
"Okay."
She hung up.
Lily
I was getting a call.
"Sorry." I apologized to the two other girls in here.
It was Serena.
I answered it.
"Hey, Sweetheart."
"Don't get mad or worried."
"What happened?"
"Um... I might've gotten my face burned."
"What?! What happened?!"
"Um... Bart tinkered with a town car Blair called, figuring it was for her. Chuck pulled me out."
"I'm gonna talk to him about it later, okay?"
"Please don't, Mom. I'm having Dad look at it."
"Alright."
I hung up.
