Chapter 5: Raven's Feather
It's been two years since Tobias met with Saguru and Minerva, from then they formed a rather peculiar trio consisted of a tennis player senpai in form of Minerva Glass, who's by all account is literally 6 years older than Saguru and Tobias and two underclassmen with one is in self-trained to be a Detective and a hitman in disguise. It looked more like an entourage with an idol is their senpai Minerva with them being two bodyguard and it's attracted a hella lot of attention.
It didn't get any better when both Tobias and Saguru are basically dubbed as 'rare speciment' of their school, being the only two Asian 'Bishounen', in their female classmates term, in the class. Had Tobias not been trained by his mother in espionage skill and Saguru in his 'gentlemen' etiquette, they would have been annoyed the hell out of it by their classmates gossip of their fantasy yaoi dream. And the fact they know Minerva Glass, now called by senpai by both of them, only exacerbated the problem as the gossip changed from boy love to literally war for affections of their senpai.
The thought brought chill down his spine, he unconsciously gulped down the whole tea cup while thinking what kind of fantasy those women in their class could come up to gossip, rumours are dangerous and he knows it. Tobias and Saguru may not pay much attention to it but it could affect their senpai, especially her career as professional tennis player.
"What's the matter Airu-kun, you looked pale…" Minerva said with concerned painted all over her face. Airu had to admit, were he been older, he'll run straight to confess his love for Minerva because just how caring she is for her kouhais as well as one of the most beautiful woman in this universe, suck that she will only appeared in one Arc in the future and then disappear forever.
Also during that two years period, Saguru somehow managed to coax Tobias to reveal his true to name to both of them, mainly because he's suspicious Tobias's origin and his name sound Europe to him. They came to an Agreement that during them when there're only by themselves, they would Tobias as Airu. Not only that but the Bishounen duo has taught their tennis senpai some Japanese word, mainly like honorifics and stuff, they still using English to converse though.
While everything above was all well and good, the under was steadily progress. Tobias since the day of his first kill has started taking more contract from ICA, especially one that pertain to Assassination and the Black Organization. He's getting better at 'taking' other's people life without having mental strains on him much, it's not like he proud of it though. Mainly when compared to Saguru and Minerva, his job is to clean the dirty stain of this world with immoral method of murdering, while Saguru solve the case as a detective and Minerva will soon be world champion athlete. Tobias determined not to let them got tangled up in the underworld business.
"Probably because of the tiredness come from those day sleep again right Airu? You always drooling in French class." Saguru said as he slowly drank his tea like a true prince of high royalty, quick did nothing but earned a grumble sound from Tobias.
"Yes, I'll still managed to snatch the second place from Tony, so it's all well and good ya damn Holmes." Tobias trying to reasoned with them, while Minerva chuckled at both of her kouhais antic, she has to admit they are very much a prodigy in their generation, even more so on the academic side. Saguru sighed with a small smile and put down his teacup.
"Language, Watson language, we can't solve case with gloomy face of your, why don't you let Minerva-senpai use you as a target practice, I say 3 shot and you'll be wide awake." Saguru said with full bishounen mode to annoy the hell out of Tobias, who in turn only growled harder, this is basically Saguru's exclusive way of insulting Tobias because of the new nickname they got, Holmes and Watson. Tobias and Saguru actually started solving case around London a month after their meeting, the duo's constant help to police department soon earned themselves the nickname after the famous the detective of Londonium and his assistant.
Tobias inwardly cursed at his luck, what kind of fortune had fate bestowed on him! For some reason he will always somehow run into characters of this series who want to be a detective in the future and so they dragged him along to a crime scene, AS a toddler mind you. He also seriously questioned police of this world, years ago he said it as a joke but after numerous of adventures to meet dead bodies, he really want to question their competence.
'No wonder Black Organization has tight grasp literally everywhere, thanks god ICA exist as status duo to keep them in check.'
Just then his phone notified him a message's been delivered to Tobias. He took it out to see it and immediately widen his eyes but he managed to conceal it fast enough for Saguru to notice it.
Saguru, although is a great friend to him, sometimes even a bit cocky, but he's sharp, very sharp. His skills have been proven through many cases they solved together, so Tobias has to be careful not to reveal his job as an Agent to his blonde friend.
Saguru, noticing his friend's gaze, decided to ask out. "Hmm? What's wrong? Something on my face?", Tobias shook his head but both of the kouhais suddenly realized their senpai hasn't said anything for awhile. They turned their heads to Minerva only two meet their senpai in thinking about something.
"Minerva-senpai? What are you thinking about?" Asked Tobias out of his curiosity, normally their senpai leaned more on the athletic side so it's a strange scene to her in pensive mode.
"That's target practice idea… seem doesn't bad at all…" Minerva mumbled but just audible enough for both of her kouhais to hear, which made their's face suddenly paled. Tobias slowly glanced back at Saguru and so did his blonde friend.
"You goofed up…"
This right here is there normal everyday banter between a tennis athlete, a detective and an undercover Agent.
Tobias walked to the meeting location stated in the message, he saw his a woman in grey business suit wearing glove sitting on a chair reading newspaper with a black case next to her. He sit next to her, both in silence contemplation waiting for the briefing of news, until he decided to break the the ice.
"Crows crawling on London street again?"
"Perhaps, they've been trying to stake their claim in Europe ever since Volkov's death and with you hunting for them on daily basis, it's no wonder they desperately scramble to pick up any left-over now."
"And they find no success in other part of Europe so they came crawling back to England?" inquired further by Tobias.
"Not entirely, more like FBI also got their hand in this mess except England, this nation is under surveillance of MI6 and us. They shut down their operation when Volkov died but now showed sight of of working again."
"FBI, always wanted to have their finger in every pie, but what about the crows, are you sure they're back here, right in middle of London?"
"This is by all mean not a mere coincidence, 47. We've just received information from our partner inside World Bank Group, million of euro in many different offshore accounts across Europe have been transferred to England. Someone's playing the game of laundry here."
"I see, they're fortifying, protecting their money supply. So what're our role in this." Tobias said, recently his contract pertain the Black Organization has been dwindling drastically, so he assumed they're leaving Britain but now hearing this, he couldn't contain his excitement to finally go back hunting crows's associates.
"Neutral, always has been and will always be. Though now they have the gall to crawl right back into our lawn, ICA can't simply have that. Expect your contract list to be top full, 47." The woman said with giggle.
"I doubt you're here to just tell me that." Tobias said while raising his eye's brows, sure the information about Black Organization resurface seem juicy but not enough to warrant meeting like this, a message through phone is enough.
"Sharp as ever 47, we have a contract. Recently, a bio laboratory named Hermes's Will was bough by a shell company, our insider confirmed that the buyer is the Black Organization. They're developing something, something need biochemistry." Tobias put his hand on his chin to think. 'Bio weapon? No, they maybe reckless but not suicidal, the only answer is… drug…' He then remembered back at the night he confronted Volkov, there were two other scientists but for some reason, that feeling of déjà vu hitting him when he thinks about those guys.
Something's nagging behind his brain about that Bio Laboratory and he doesn't like that feeling. "So my job is to infiltrate that place and learn whatever kind of voodoo magic they're performing in it."
"Not enough, the higher up wanted that place gone off the face of the earth."
"Huh?"
"This time you're gonna to blow that place up to oblivion, silence everything include everyone in that place for goods, for the cover up, our MI6 friends has it covered. The intel retrieve part only served as a bonus, not a must." The woman said with full voice of seriousness of the problem, showing no negotiation attitude. She then gestured to the black suitcase next to her.
"Inside are the explosives ICA has prepared for you as well as the address and the blueprint of the entire building, you will know which place is the best to set up the device, they expected you to finish this swiftly, 47."
"No problem." Tobias took the black suitcase and ready to leave until the woman held his sleeve, he turned back and showed confusion.
"A-And remember to be careful, A-chan." His mother said with a hopeful eyes to which Tobias returned with a full smile before walking away. The evening ray of sunlight shines down the retreating figure of Tobias, a nine year old kid walk in black suit through the Autumn breeze in London in silence. On his way back to home though, Tobias was walking absentmindedly, he kept on thinking about the unnerved feeling behind his brain so much that he collided with a person.
He stood up and helped the other person he accidentally bumped.
"I'm sorry for my lack of awareness, miss. Are you okay?"
"Nothing, … don't worry about it."
Said person's appearance though created another déjà vu sensation which made Tobias narrowed his eyes. The girl's older than him, she is average height and had mid neck lenght cherry auburn color hair with viridescent eyes.
'This girl…'
Noticing, he's staring at the girl in a rudely manner, Tobias cough into his hand. "Do you need any help? Any injury?"
"No, and thank you…" said the girl in short before walking away before he could offer any compensation for colliding with her. Though Tobias didn't stop her, the feeling of nagging became stronger when he met that girl even only for a brief moment.
The Hermes's Will bio laboratory though situated in central part of London, it's surrounding are mostly trees and bush to not only for decoration but also perfect for infiltration. The whole compound is surrounded by a brickwall and the gateway is at the southern part of facility. Right in the middle is the complex which he has to blow up to smitthen.
The position of Tobias gave him an overall view over then entire Laboratory, the security is rather lax for a supposed Black Organization's research facility, normally they would be armed to teeth in these kind of building to protect their tuff. Then again, crows are notoriously annoying to deal with given his experience in hunting them via contracts to him.
'Mostly security guards patrol outside, but I can't say the same for inside. There's no visual inside and I bet they have bunch of mafias dress up wannabe crawling the interior of the building. Going in blind is suicidal, disguising… You know what, forget about it.'
Tobias mentally slapped himself in the face, he was thinking about disguising and blending in but he forgot he's still a nine year old kid. Only person with a grape brain size could be fooled by that one. In a sense, disguising is out of the window for him, the other way is Sam Fisher way.
Tobias continued circle around the facility looking for a way in, until the cogs inside his head work up when he saw air ventilation system.
'Wait! Wait! I'm a nine year old kid right?' He inspected his body, sure his body constituition might above to his normal peers but he is, by all account still a child. So his body could fit in the air duct without needing to walk through the front door. Though the process might be a dangerous as he's required to scale the building by climbing on top of it while risking being caught.
Another way is gain access via the adjacent building to the main complex, they are interconnected through a passage way but Tobias knew better than that there will be guard. Another problem need to be address is the security camera, he saw a couple outside and it's easy avoid but he can't the say the same to the inside. Once again, don't judge the book by it's cover. According to the blueprint, the interior is narrowed so he has limited space to hide, the position he needed to place the explosive happened to be in the basement of the main complex where the main gas system and most of chemical situated.
Tobias doesn't have many utility gear on him. Hell, the only thing on him right now are his twin Silverballer, a silver thread connected to two handles, a small flash light, a binocular, some mechanical tool, his butterfly knife, a pentagon knife and the building blueprint all inside a duffle bag to carry C4 charges as well. He's always prefer skill over tools to get the job done.
After awhile, he noticed a small window of opporunity in the patrol pattern. Tobias tucked the map and his small flashlight back into the bag while put on his gloves and put on a back sport cap. He stretched a bit and approach the the perimeter, waiting for a perfect timing to climb in.
Just as the guard passing by, Tobias immediately climb over the brickwall and run fast to the nearest bush outside the substitute building. His eyes darted around until he saw the metal staircase lead to the inside but he has other use for it. Tobias slowly ascend the and use the rail guard as a stepping stone to climb onto the roof, what he didn't expect when he almost got through it is sound door clicking, a guard stepped outside as Tobias narrowly made onto the roof. The man looked around for the straight noise since he heard a sound of footstep on metal until complete silence, he looked up but saw nothing.
On the other hand, Tobias was doing his best not to let out any sound, even going as far as holding his breath to prevent him from exposing his presence. After confirming the guard has left, he sighed, that was one of the unfortunate of misfortune, even he tried his best to keep the noise down but he didn't expect those guys to be that sharp. Though there's a silver lining in it, the guard helped him confirmed the theory that's the outside patrols are just for public face, inside are crow's people.
Tobias dusted off any dirt on his body and ready to make the next move, as he walked toward the passage way connecting the two building while carefully avoiding all the windows to keep his concealment. One thing good thing though is it's not made of glass so he don't have to worry about any interloper but Tobias has learnt his lesson, one moment of dropping down his guard mean his death, he still has to keep his head low otherwise patrols could see him or people from main complex through window, there aren't a lot of AC units to hide around here.
Tobias made it to wall now, he had to climb up again but extra precautions must be taken into account. From where he stood to the roof is three floors tall, Tobias had no problem with climbing but the risk came with it, that kind of height even if he's fast, the amount of time he's exposed to being spotted is still large, his window opportunity is very small, one sec late and he could be caught in water surrounded by hundred of hungry shark.
'Other windows are no option, I could risk getting caught on camera or crows. Dammit, to hell with it.'
In the end, Tobias decided to go with the original plan as he proceed to follow up the electric cable to the roof. The task was exhausting to say the least, had he not diligently self-trained in his free time, climbing even at this height is still tiring due lack pedestal space for him to step on. Just as he lunge his body over to roof, once again Tobias has escaped from being spotted by the skin of his teeth when two patrol guards walked into scene.
He smiled, the job was no easy like his past ones. Most of the previous jobs didn't require him to sneak around with this much adrenaline pumping inside his veins, they were ranging from sneaking civilian place or assassinate a single High-Profile target or small group of Black Organization field operator, but this time, this time is different, he's in a place infested with everyone is crow's people.
'I need a new nickname for that achievement.'
Tobias had a closer look to one of the air duct entrance enclosed with a small turbine fan on it. He whips out his screwdriver from the bag and took down the fan. The air duct was large just enough for his body to wiggle around in it.
'Well here goes nothing…'
1st person pov: Tobias Rieper (Airu Akihiko)
'Goddamn these guys had enough money to flaunt around but not rich enough to hide a janitor or a cleaner? The whole air duct is so dirty that I can feel dust crawling through my veins!'
As I constantly move a bit then checked the air vent blueprint, I prefer not to make hasty move otherwise I could be caught with pant down. What annoying is that I have to make my it all the way down to the basement because that's where the main gas chamber situated so the explosion could trigger the chain reaction, all the while has to avoid killing off everyone in this whole laboratory. Not like I could pull the move No one will notice if there is no one to notice.
'Yeahhh… no, not like I have enough ammunition for that.'
I made it all the way to the third floor's intersection, according the blueprint that is, until I heard something rather interesting.
"Pisco, what're you doing here at this time?" came the voice of a woman that sound familiar to me, then I suddenly remember back to the Volkov's encounter, one of scientist also has this same voice! Now that, she's here, I decided to make a small detour and crawl toward that place. Another reason why I chose to do so is because the name she said, Pisco, if what I heard is right then that's the old guy who almost killed Shiho in the future, I'm curious what the hell's he doing here.
"Now, can an old man like me check on my fellow co-workers? It's not like there's any harm now, is it?" Pisco said as he light up the smoke in his hand. Ugh! I'm still in the air duct you senile old man! Though I'm still early in the cannon so seeing him with hair and beard in black is kinda weird.
I looked to other side and the saw the identical two scientists back then, they still looked the same after two years not meeting with them, the woman with light hair and green eyes with the man brown skin and black brown hair. That feeling of déjà vu once again hit me whenever I saw them, but it's not like I could just jump down and question who they are.
"Boss wanted to check on the progress of the project right?" Said the man next to the woman.
"Well you're not far from that−" Pisco puffs out smoke as he walks to near the window, this guy… he's seriously gonna to do the whole villain cliché? " −but there's another reason I'm here, to ensure the project go smoothly you say."
"You expect us to betray the Organization?" Said the female scientist with her glare to Pisco, who just chuckled a bit.
"Oh no no, with them here, I know both of you won't do anything stupid like that, I'm referring the third party here, the one since Volkov's bussiness." Pisco sneered and I've already known who's he implied to but it's still bring a smile to my face when I heard that piss off the Organization a bit and this old man too, might as well stick around to hear this till the end. "The ICA is getting harder and harder to deal with everyday, Volkov is dead because of them so the Project was slowed down near halt. When we tried to move our operation other region in Europe, the FBI started to jump in together with Interpol. As if that wasn't bad enough, word on street is ICA has newest Agent who's been hunting our operative left and right, our activities in Europe can only be described as 'stagnation'." Pisco scowled, even I can feel the amount salt I rub on the face those Black Organization, the feeling was enticing as hell, no word can describes it just how elated it felt when all their hands are tied and they can't do anything.
But that's not an excuse for me to feel relaxed though, now that's I managed to trigger the whole beehive by giving them the middle finer, their operations are gonna to be much more harder to track down and they maybe even set up a hunting party just for me. The last thing I want is letting my identity leaked out and being on their hit list.
"Damn, those annoying flies. But don't worry though, we'll move our operation out of here soon!"
'Hmm!?'
"What do you mean by that Pisco?" Inquired by male scientist further as he folded his arm.
"Fighting right in the backyard of ICA is a losing battle, Europe has been deemed by the Boss as a lost cause already. The higher ranking members are reorganizing their men to different branch, mainly The States and Japan."
Now that's a juicy information, no wonder why in manga, a lot of thing related to the Black Organization happen to take place in Japan, especially Beika. That goddamn place is like a breeding ground for those pestering crows.
"Nonetheless, we're not high on the list yet. Once both you finished your Project, all of you will be transferred to Japan. I'm here to supervise it and making sure ICA not gonna to blow this place to smitthen."
'Well what do you know old man! you're about to hit the nail on the head with that statement of your.' I smirked
"We still need to finish that drug. Now if you excuse us Pisco." The woman said as she stormed out the room together with her partner. Pisco just chuckled and walked out too, that's also a signal for me to return back to my original objective, in Pisco term "Blow this place to smitthen."
3rd person pov:
After a long hour of harrowing crawling and inspecting the map, Tobias managed to find the final exit lead to the basement. He was both ecstatic and hyperventilating at the same time due constant breathing of dust, making him cough quite a few. The eerily silent hallway however didn't seem to share that sentiment with him as his entire body tensed up, Tobias berated himself for forgetting that he's right in the middle of tiger's den.
He picked up his duffle bag and proceed to find his designated room, until Tobias came across a heavily secured door with what seem like a card type lock, after making sure it's a room he's looking for through the map. He's now facing a question, how to get inside?
'Shoot the lock? No, that's way too risky as even with suppressor, the gun will still attract others, and I don't even know this kind of lock can be shot with .45 ACP. Hmm, what about… right Security!'
The hallway soon take a turn to the left with another empty long corridor which is quite unnerved to Tobias, he himself feels some action gonna to take place soon considering this kind of atmosphere is akin to the quote 'Calm before the storm'. His hand on the handle of his Silverballer, just in case he need to dispatch someone quickly, at the end of hallway lie the door he has been searching for 15 minutes but Tobias was quickly grumbled and behind the boxes lying in the way when he saw the wall nearby has camera directly overseeing the door lead to Security room.
'Dammit! What's next?... hmm…'
He keeps thinking until an idea comes to his head, a stupid that one. It's hard to blame him since he has a knack coming up the most stupid plan to solve the problem and somehow it worked, and according to his dictionary 'If it worked, it work.'
'Alright, I'm gonna to take a very enthusiastic walk…'
Tobias put down his duffle bag and slowly strides toward the security room without any sneaking intent but pull down his cap to hide the his face. Inside the security room, the guard saw him in full black and thought one of the men of Organization check on him but is confused by body proportion of a small child and timing of inspection. Nonetheless, he shrugs and hears a knocking on the door, Not wanting to hear any more complaint tonight but little did he know, this will be his last night shift.
… And then there were none.
The guard drops dead instantly from the speeding bullet through his skull, in his eyes evidented the split second horror from seeing the gun pointed to his head, blood from the fatal wound painted the wall behind him. Tobias still holding a smoking pistol in his hand, he snapped out of his thought and immediately runmage throughout the entire room for the access card, not only that he also makes sure to shut down the camera system to erase all his presence in here by shooting at the main server frame.
After making sure the right card is in his hand, and the cams are dead, Tobias hides the body inside the locker and locks door to security room to make sure none can enter ever. He runs back with the duffle bag slinged over his shoulder.
The main gas chamber contained many pipes lead to the upper floor and linked the entire building into one complex system of pipe line, a detonation here will trigger a chain reaction in all pipes and destroyed the entire building from the inside. Not only that the electricity room and chemical storage happened to be near here serves nothing but an icing on the cake. Tonight, Hermes's Will Bio Laboratory will be the shiniest star in London.
Tobias quickly gets to work and set up the explosive charges in the room, he is getting to his third charge until he hears a clicking sound of a gun which freezes his entire body.
"Who are you?!" The familiar voice belongs to a man, Tobias slightly glances and is greeted by the same male scientist earlier he eavesdropped earlier. He subtly cursed himself for the unfortunate encounter now that's he has to dispose him too. Not like Tobias has any choice to begin with since he's about to light this place up like Roman candle.
"A kid?!" The scientist still holding his gun in case and walks closer. After hearing his word, Tobias silently put both his hand inside his jacket pocket and brings out the silver thread, he intents to manipulate the elements of surprise to his side.
The scientist didn't realized the inherent danger of the kid in front of him and he unconsciously lower his gun. Seeing the opportunity, Tobias slapped the gun away, much to the scientist's dismay, using his nimble body, he immediately wrapped the thread the scientist's neck. Both of them struggle to fight each other's strength but the scientist is quickly losing his sense due to lack of oxygen, his blood can be seen dropping down from the thread. He was about to succumb to black out until he heard a noise.
"Atsushi? What are you doing in here?"
Tobias once again cursed himself and his F rank luck, 'As if one wasn't bad enough, now that woman scientist's here too?!'. On the other hand, Atsushi, even though being choked to near death, still trying to let out incoherent words to warn his wife.
"D-Don't… c… come… E-Elena!"
"Atsushi?" Elena comes in and witness a horror sight in front of her. Her husband was being choked by a kid dressed in black and wore caps with silver thread. Tobias knows there's no other way, as he one hand to draws out his Silverballer to ready dispatch her, all the while keeps holding down Atsushi with his other hand. Elena was paralyzed by the scene, she was about to be shot until Atsushi gained back enough strength to wiggle around, he managed to throw off Tobias's aim, though the bullet strays from the original path, it still managed to hit her leg which forced Elena stumbled forward due to the excruciating pain.
Back to Tobias, he was now struggling with Atsushi as the man tried to use his weight to his advantage, his gun was dropped down because of unexpected strenght from the male scientist. The battle returned back to attrition warfare in strenght, from his peripheral vision, Tobias sees Elena's crawling for the gun, knowing drawing out any longer will be fatal for him. Tobias kicks back Atsushi and bring out his pentagon knife in reverse grip, Atsushi, still determining to protect his wife, charged at the hitman but only to be sliced in his cheeks when Tobias sidestepped.
Finally the opportunity comes, Tobias dodged an over strike fist from Atsushi and slashed his knife through Atsushi's stomach, making the scientist stumbled forward and groaned in pain. Giving the him no time, Tobias plunged his knife right into Atsushi's spinal cord, paralyzed him in the process.
"ATSUSHI!" Elena, with the gun in her hand, screamed when she saw her husband stabbed in the back. She was about to shoot the hitman until Elena saw a blur object sent to her direction, then the feeling of cold metal imbedded in her neck, everything seemingly blurring in and out of reality as she saw the viscous liquid spattered on the floor. The last thing she saw before the black out was a cold crimson gaze from the hitman.
Elena was dropped dead with the pentagon knife in her neck due to quick thinking of Tobias to throw the knife at her. He feels sick, for some reason that same feeling of nausea back when he first killed Volkov hits him in this moment. Tobias is confused, 'Why now all of sudden?! I thought I get over it already!', he wanted to vomit but refrains doing so. Tobias picks up his Silverballer and aims to Atsushi's head, he pulls the trigger with hesitation but he has to make sure they're dead, no witnesses can be allowed to live.
His breath was fluctuating, adrenaline died down after an intense match and his muscle feels aching, but worse of all. His head feels like being constantly hit in the head by a hammer.
'No… no… focus Airu! Get yourself together man! Remember, remember that night, remember her … yeah, yeah... Get things done and get the hell out of here.'
He glanced back to the two dead bodies of the scientist and then the duffle bag with one last C4 charge, Tobias sighed.
Timeskip
Tobias gives one last glance to the Laboratory, he's holding the detonator in his hand, he about to click it until the confrontation scene between he and the two scientist. The wind was howling tonight in starry sky of London as he looked up to the sky.
'What a night to die to a hitman…' He laughed, but it was hollowed, no joy was found in his voice, it's still puzzled him why he felt the same sensation back at Volkov's death. 'Is it because they're non-combatant? Who am I kidding! They're still with the crows right?', thought Tobias trying to find reason to justified his action, his life and the mission was at stake so he's right to execute what he has to.
He looked back to the detonator, the moment he trigger it, many crows will die inside that cursed lab, but among them maybe even there's other life too.
Tobias grits his teeth and trigger the detonator.
A resounding bang accompany by a shockwave reverberates throughout the entire area, even Tobias could feel it. Many small explosions occurred in the floors of the Laboratory until one giant flame consume the building with a big explosion, destroy the whole complex in short time.
They say ravens are insight of bad omen and loss. That they are the creature to guide the dead souls to the other side of the word, the bridge between the death and the living, they wander around the land of mortal in group in an area where someone's about to die.
Tonight, Raven's Feather is born.
The sleep was suck.
It was really suck in Tobias's mind, perhaps it's because of what he experience last night, it's wasn't the best but he has to endure it. At least the money was good though, with this he could afford to live a bit more luxury for months to come.
Better food equals better life and no one can convince him otherwise. And maybe he can even buy himself a motorcycle! It's always Tobias's dream to own one.
'Though not like anyone gonna to sell a motorcycle to a nine year old kid like me. They even maybe will question why a kid like me has that much money, oh and the driver's license too, can't forget that stuff.' *Sighed*
He turns on the TV while making some tea for the morning. The new outlet were working around the clocks to cover the story behind last night explosion occurred at a Bio Chemistry Lab. It's all good until Tobias hears something petrified his entire body from the reporter.
["As of now, the polices believes this is a tragic incident came from one the fail safe of gas explosion due to the Hermes' Will Laboratory didn't meet the safety standard. All staff were killed during the explosion, most has been identified and sent to autopsy though I received a new there were two body found near the center of the detonation, due to the fire and being near it, it's impossible to recognize nor doing any autopsy but the polices has confirmed to found a barely intact ID card on them. Their name are Elena Miyano and Atsushi Miyano, if you know these two scientists, please contact the local police department immediately."]
There was a sound of glass breaking throughout Tobias's apartment.
The End.
