Alright gang, here is the last part of Kiara's birthday chapter! It isn't super long or exciting, but it will get us back on track and allow us to continue on with her on her journey. I have the next chapter or two outlined and a vague idea of where it will go moving forward. But as usual, I could use your help as I go so share any guesses or suggestions you have in a review or message me.
As a thank you for all your patience and support, I have a special surprise for you at the end of this chapter!

Recap:
Without another word, Kiara grabbed the vial from Holly's hand and downed it in one gulp. Her face scrunched up at the test so Klaus knew she had been serious when she said it tasted horrible. Then slowly she relaxed back into the couch cushions and closed her eyes.
"Kiara?" Klaus stepped towards her. "Are you alright?"
"She's fine," Holly told him.
"I'm afraid that you and I must have different definitions of the word fine. Now if you don't tell me exactly what that potion just did to her, I—"
"Mhm isn't he just delicious Hol?" Kiara lifted her head and her glowing eyes met his. "I could just eat him up."
Klaus froze.
"Klaus, this is Sky," Holly said, gesturing to Kiara who was grinning at him now.
Chapter Twenty Two: A Night to Forget, A Day to Remember Part 3
For a moment, Klaus and David just stared at the young succubus sitting across from them. She raised an eyebrow at them and crossed her legs expectantly. Klaus couldn't quite put his finger on it, but her eyes were different somehow. Playful, but almost mocking. It wasn't like he'd never seen her eyes glow that eerie green before. He just assumed it was connected to her emotions in some way. Mainly because he'd only ever seen them change when she was angry, or hungry. He would have never guessed it was something like this.
Kiara—or Sky's eyes remained on Klaus as he studied her. Like she was daring him to ask the questions that were rumbling around in his head. But he couldn't bring himself to move, much less talk.
"What the hell are you talkin' about? That's Kiara," David frowned. He looked at Holly and then Klaus. "Ain't it?"
"It is and it isn't," Holly told them.
Klaus's eyes remained fixed on Kiara's face. His face was void of emotion as he said, "I'm afraid I'm going to need a bit more than that."
Holly sighed but answered him anyway. "As I said, when Kiara first awakened her succubus side, I didn't know how to help her. So I did the only thing I could do. I sought the help of a fellow witch, Sheila Bennett. Together we came up with a treatment that required two potions."
"Two?" David repeated. His face contorted with worry for his friend.
"That's right," Holly nodded. "One to separate her succubus' side from her conscious mind and the other to lock it away. Unfortunately, the magic separating them can't last forever. It's a part of her after all. They eventually begin merging back together. In the meantime, Sky, as I've come to call her, finds ways to make appearances when Kiara is feeling vulnerable."
"Like on the anniversary of her mother's death," Klaus realized.
Holly nodded. "Kiara tries to escape into her own mind and Sky comes out of it."
"Well if that's the case, I believe we've already met," Klaus said, unable to stop his heart from racing at the memory of last night.
Sky pouted her lips out dramatically and turned her head to the side. "Have we?" she asked before adding. "Love?"
There was no doubt then. The way she said that word, the confident tone in her voice, it was the same as before. Klaus forced himself to remain where he was. He couldn't react to her the way he wanted to. He was torn. On the one hand, he was drawn to this part of Kiara. How could he not be? She was straightforward, alluring, sexy. And on the other, he wondered if Kiara's attraction to him came purely from the influence of this dark side of hers. If that were the case, there was no telling how Kiara would feel about him once she was back to normal. The idea of being rejected by her scared him more than he could say.
Unfortunately, he couldn't process either of those things because a wave of intense anger boiled from deep within him. Sky, as Holly called her, shouldn't even exist. This woman, this witch, wasn't even Kiara's blood. What right did she have to lock away such an important part of her?
Klaus couldn't help but relate to her situation. Memories of his mother cursing him all those years ago were coming back to him in flashes.
"Did Elijah know?" Klaus asked her. "About you? Did he know?"
"Now why would you ask me something that?" Sky crossed her arms in front of her, pushing her breasts up. But Klaus kept his eyes on hers.
"Just answer the question."
"Mmmm, I love when you get all demanding," Sky smirked and leaned towards him slightly, showing off the cleavage even more. It was odd to see since Kiara felt so uneasy about it today that she was constantly pulling her shirt up. When he didn't comment, Sky said, "No. Elijah didn't know about me. I didn't get to spend much time with him."
That made Klaus feel a little better.
"Does she know?" Klaus asked.
Sky frowned. "What?"
"Kiara. Does she know about you?"
Instead of answering, Sky crossed her arms and looked at Holly next to her. The woman didn't want to meet anyone's eyes.
"Not exactly," Holly answered. "I never told Kiara how the potions worked. Only that it helped keep her urges in control. That was all that mattered to her."
"Because she trusts you," Klaus spat out, unable to keep his voice from rising. "She trusted you and you betrayed her!"
"No." Holly shook her head.
"You locked away such an important part of herself, it literally became another person!"
Holly started to pace the carpeted floor. "You don't understand. You weren't there."
"No, I think I understand very well," Klaus said. His voice was harsh as he took a step towards the woman. "She's a powerful being, one you couldn't understand. You were scared of her and what she might be capable of so you trapped a part of her away to make her easier to control."
"It wasn't that simple. She nearly killed someone," Holly told him. Tears were building in her eyes, but Klaus didn't care.
"You didn't even give her a chance," Klaus went on.
"She begged me to fix her! What was I supposed to do?"
"Regardless of your intentions, you left her vulnerable. She nearly died in my arms." The thought pissed Klaus off so much he raced forward and lifted Holly by her throat. "She'd be dead right now if I hadn't found her!"
In a blink, someone slammed into Klaus's left side. He stumbled and it forced him to release Holly to catch himself. His eyes shifted to gold before he looked over to see Sky standing protectively in front of Holly. He was surprised.
"What are you doing?" Klaus asked her. "She kept you locked away all this time. Aren't you angry?"
Sky glanced back at Holly and then back at him. "She's my family."
"No, actually, she's not," Klaus shot back. "She's just some witch who stole you—"
"Saved me."
"—from your father and cursed you to live half an existence. This cannot continue, love. I won't allow it."
"What would you have me do?" Holly gasped, rubbing her throat. "Sit back and watch her kill people? Let her become a monster?"
"That's not a choice for you to make! It's hers. You won't be around to control her forever. She'll need to learn to deal with what she is eventually. How well do you think she'll fair after years of being locked away?" Klaus said.
"You don't think I've thought about that?" Holly shook her head. A shaky hand moved her hair out of her face. "This wasn't supposed to be permanent. It was only supposed to give her time to get used to what she was, keep her in control so she didn't make any mistakes she couldn't take back. I know her. I know she couldn't handle it if she ever killed someone. And even if she could, Orion would find us if she started dropping bodies. You may not like my methods, but everything I do is for that girl."
It was possible that was true. Klaus couldn't say for sure. He did, however, wonder why that would be. He never really asked Kiara about her rescue from her father or Holly's part in it. Now he was beginning to wonder how Holly knew to rescue the girl in the first place and why she would risk her life to do it.
"It may have also bought you time to save me," Sky said, taking Klaus's hand in hers. "The blade probably would have killed me much sooner if I had been fully merged with Kiara."
The tingle that ran up his arm from her touch was much stronger than any he had experienced before. He felt his whole body begin to respond to her and he realized then that Kiara's abilities really had been dimmed by this potion. It also explained why he had been feeling more drawn to her these past couple of weeks. Klaus felt his anger melting, despite himself.
"Perhaps you have a point," he nodded, keeping his eyes on her. It may have left Kiara vulnerable, but it led them to where they are now. Together. Growing closer each day. Finally, he said, "Fine then, if it will make you happy, I will not harm your surrogate mother. For now."
Sky grinned and trailed a delicate hand down his chest. His breathing deepened as she hooked a finger on his belt loops. "What else is the Big Bad Hybrid willing to do to make me happy?"
The words sent a thrill through him. For a moment, he couldn't move. But the struggle he was dealing with inside clearly entertained the succubus. Klaus found himself chewing on his cheek to try to distract himself.
"Careful there, love. You should remain on your best behavior until you and Kiara are one and the same again."
"But we had so much fun last time…" Sky grinned. Her fingertips slipped past his pants line to touch his bare skin. He sucked in a breath. The simple graze of her finger made his pants feel tighter.
"Sky you didn't…" Holly said. Her disappointment was obvious.
"Oh please," Sky rolled her eyes. "Kiara and I are more alike than you know. We feel the same about this one, even if she doesn't want to admit it just yet."
Klaus's eyebrows scrunched together in surprise. "You do?"
"I didn't think you and Kiara felt the same about anything…"
"Well, Holls, that just shows how little you know about us," Sky said as she scratched teasingly at Klaus's hipbone.
Finally, Klaus had to do something. He grabbed her wrist. His eyes flashing warningly at her. "I mean it, love…" he growled. "Behave yourself."
"Oh, I love when you call me that," Sky said, unbothered by his growing temper. She cupped his cheek with her free hand making goosebumps rise across his face. "Don't hold back, baby. Let the big bad wolf out to play. I promise you won't be disappointed."
Klaus pressed her back up against the wall, his hands now shaking around her throat. He was itching to do something. Anything. But he ended up just staring down at her with pleading eyes. Hoping that she would stop. Perhaps he should have been more embarrassed by the effect this woman had on him. Because it was obvious to anyone looking at them how much he wanted her. But he didn't much care for anyone else at the moment. His full focus was on Kiara. And he didn't want to do anything that could hurt her.
"I said no," he told her.
Sky looked hurt. "But why?" she whispered.
"Because I want Kiara," Klaus paused. His hands tilted Sky's face up towards his as if he might kiss her. "Because I want both of you to remember… the next time anything happens, I want it to be when you're complete and in full control of your actions."
Sky's eyes softened and her body relaxed against his hold. "Careful Klaus, I might start to think you care about me."
"Wouldn't want that," he said. His eyebrows lifting sarcastically.
"You know…" Sky grinned at him. "I've never been turned down by anyone before. It kinda makes me want you even more." Her hands reached out like she would touch him again, but he growled her and she stopped.
They stood like that for a moment. Allowing the tension to build between them. Staring at one another with complete understanding. Unable to look away, but unable to act on their desires at the same time. Finally, Klaus forced himself to take a step back from her. He looked at Holly and said, "This is the last time she will be given that potion, do you understand?"
Holly looked like she wanted to argue. Her lips pressed together as if wanting to refuse to agree with his demands, but she said, "I understand."
As angry as Klaus was, he believed Holly when she said that she was doing her best to keep Kiara safe. And she had a point. As long as Kiara's father was hunting her, Kiara could never truly be free. Up until this point, the potions were helping to keep Kiara safe. But that didn't mean he had to like it. He knew if he didn't want her taking these potions any longer, there was only one way to make that happen. He would have to kill Orion Blake.
Klaus didn't say any of this out loud, of course. Instead, he allowed Holly to give Sky the second potion. He watched as Sky disappeared and Kiara came back to herself. It was clear that she had no recollection of the past couple of minutes. And he wasn't about to tell her what happened. It was still her birthday and Klaus wanted her to enjoy it. So he claimed that he needed to speak with David privately and they stepped into the other room to allow Kiara to have some time alone with her guardian.
"Stefan called earlier," David said as soon as the door was shut. He knew that Klaus needed to be distracted. "He thinks we may have found one. A guy named Ray, supposedly he spends a lot of time at a bar called Southern Comfort in Tulley."
"Well then, I guess we're headed to Tulley."
Kiara and Holly talked well into the night. Klaus allowed her to have as much time as possible, but eventually, the time came when he had to have David take Holly back to the safe house he had her set up in. Surprisingly neither of the women argued with him over it. They said their goodbyes, seemingly confident that they would see one another again, and then Kiara disappeared into the bedroom—like she couldn't bear to watch Holly leave her again.
"She told me everything, you know," Holly told him, standing in front of the door. "How you found her dying in our doorway. How you saved her life. What you put her through when you broke your curse and daggered your own brother right in front of her. And then today, you spent all day with her, trying to make her happy. Today of all days."
"Is there a question in there somewhere?" Klaus tried to look indifferent.
"Why?"
"Why what?"
"Why do any of it? Why save her?"
Klaus clenched his jaw. "I don't need to explain myself to you, or anyone else for that matter. I do as I please."
"I've heard of you, you know. The Great Niklaus Mikelson. The Hybrid. Quick temper. Merciless killer—"
"What's your point?"
"Someone like you doesn't just change. Kiara is all I have. I don't want you hurting her."
"No offense, but I don't much care what you want. You should be happy that you're still alive because if it had been up to me, things would have gone differently today," Klaus told her. He watched the woman take a step back instinctively. Then before he could say anything he might regret later, he said, "Have a safe trip, Holly."
Klaus waited until he heard the elevator doors shut before turning his attention to figuring out Kiara's whereabouts. It was just the two of them again, at least for the night, and truthfully he wasn't sure what to do. Now that he knew about Sky and she didn't, things were different. He was part of it now. And he didn't like keeping such a secret from her. But he didn't want to tell her either. Not yet. He knew that he probably should tell her. That if it were Elijah in this position he likely would have, but Klaus decided to sit on this information for now. He told himself that he was protecting Kiara. She didn't need to know that Holly was the reason she had memory lapses and had difficulty maintaining control of her supernatural urges. She didn't need to know that someone she trusted, someone she loved that used magic to lock away a part of her without her permission. It would only cause her pain.
"Klaus!" Kiara suddenly yelled, opening the bedroom door. "What the hell is all this?"
He walked towards her. Although he didn't need to see her to know what she was talking about. "Birthday gifts, of course," he told her, leaning his shoulder against the doorway. "I told you I would spoil you today, didn't I?"
"W-Well, it's too much. Take it back."
Klaus just chuckled and said, "I hope you enjoyed your birthday, love. You should get some sleep. We leave early tomorrow morning." He turned to go into the other bedroom for the night.
"Um, Klaus?" Kiara called, making him pause.
"Yes, love?"
She stepped in front of him and leaned up on her tippy toes to kiss his cheek. When she pulled back, she was smiling. "I did enjoy my birthday," she told him. "I honestly didn't think I could anymore, but this was the best I've had in a long time. "So... you know, thanks for everything."
"It was my pleasure, sweetheart," Klaus told her before disappearing behind his bedroom door. He felt her watch him leave and there was a part of him that wondered if she wanted to ask him to stay with her. But he couldn't wait to find out because he knew if she did ask him to stay, he wouldn't be able to deny her and he didn't think that staying would be the right thing to do at the moment. Instead, he spent the rest of the night laying on top of the hotel bed covers, staring up at the ceiling, and wondering when he started to worry about doing right by Kiara James.
Alright, that's the end of this chapter, I know it wasn't great. But I have high hopes for the next coming chapters. The things coming up soon are things that I have had planned for our Kiara from the beginning. Hopefully, you guys like it.
I also want to thank DawnScarlet19610 for looking out for any spelling and grammar mistakes. I am terrible at proofreading my own writing so I really appreciate it. You also leave very thoughtful reviews that help me when I am trying to write the next chapters. :)
And as promised below is my special surprise for you guys! A deleted scene! Or whether one that was rewritten. This was way back in Chapter Six I believe when Klaus entered Kiara's dream to mess with her. This is how the scene was originally written, but I rewrote it because I didn't want it to get too weird too fast. I'm a little nervous about sharing this with you guys, but I'm curious to know what you guys think. So prepare yourself and read on if you dare. ;)
Deleted/ Rewritten scene. The italics are what was the same and the rest is what was changed.
That night, Kiara dreamt of Niklaus. Not the angry hybrid who threatened to make her suffer, but the sweet human boy who wanted only her name and looked at her like she was a gift from the gods. It was silly really. Kiara knew that that person died a long time ago, that much was obvious as he was choking her, but memory is a funny thing. Because she could remember his gentle hands skimming her stomach and his soft lips hesitantly moving against hers. And suddenly, he was there with her. He was looking at her with those dreamy eyes and holding her against the wall of her bedroom, whispering sweetly in her ear as he trailed kisses down her neck.
It was just the two of them. She wasn't a succubus. He wasn't a vampire. No soul-sucking or blood draining. No questions about what was real or how they felt. Only a beautiful moment between two lonely souls.
"I need more, love," Niklaus muttered against her skin. "I need you."
"You have me," she sighed, gripping his bareback like he might disappear any second.
She closed her eyes and leaned her head back against the wall allowing him to run his mouth whenever he pleased. The thin dress she wore gave him easy access to nearly everything.
"Well, well, isn't this quite the picture?"
Kiara's eyes snapped open. She looked over Niklaus's shoulder to see… Klaus? Only his hair was short and he was wearing jeans. He was smirking at her with a dramatically raised eyebrow and his hands held behind his back. She blinked in confusion. Slowly, she was lowered to the ground.
"Klaus?" she asked, taking a step toward him.
"In the flesh, so to speak," he glanced at the version of him she'd created and then back at her. "You have me at a bit of a loss here, sweetheart. I didn't expect to find this, of all things, when I ventured into your head. But don't let me stop you, go on, enjoy yourself."
"This isn't real." Kiara closed her eyes and backed up to slide down the wall until she was sitting on the floor. "It's just a dream, a terrible nightmare that I'll wake up from any second now..."
"Terrible nightmare?" Klaus laughed mockingly. "Come on, love. You have me shirtless and begging for you here. What more could you possibly want?"
When she opened her eyes again, he was still standing there grinning down at her. He looked around the room with curious eyes and her cheeks burned. She'd never had a man in her bedroom before. He jumped back onto the bed and bounced a little. "Is this your bedroom?" he asked. "It's a bit plainer than I expected, I must admit."
She frowned at him.
His eyes looked from the simple grey walls and white dresser to her. It seemed like he wanted to ask her something, but he simply plastered that smirk back on his face and said, "Tell me, what is it about me that generated this filthy dream of yours? Hm? My handsome good looks? My body? Was it the accent? It was, wasn't it? It's always the accent…"
Kiara glared at him annoyed by his cocky behavior. This was nothing like the human boy she met in his mind. Could there really be nothing left of him in there?
Determined to not allow him to know his presence was bothering her, she motioned for Niklaus to come down on the floor with her. He kneeled down in front of her and she pushed his long hair out of his face. And he did the same to her.
"Beautiful," he told her.
She smiled, but it didn't feel the same now that she was so aware of the fact that he wasn't real, and pulled him to her so she could kiss him again.
Klaus watched this strange woman slip her tongue into his double's mouth and bit the inside of his own. He looked away from the two of them, not sure how he felt looking at it. She laid onto her back and his double climbed on top of her, grinding down eagerly as he kissed her neck. But her eyes were on him watching his reaction. A perverse thrill went through him as their eyes met.
"You're awfully quiet all of a sudden," she pointed out. "Is this making you uncomfortable? Or are you just jealous of Niklaus here?" she racked her fingers through his hair and tugged at it making him groan.
Despite himself, Klaus could feel his pants tightening.
"Or are you enjoying yourself?" she smirked. "You are, aren't you?"
"You're deprived," he frowned.
She nodded in agreement. "Absolutely depraved."
Niklaus wandered downward, pushing her dress up to reveal her perfect shapely legs. Then her rosy pink underwear and smooth stomach. His lips moved from her hips to her thighs and Klaus's mouth watered at the sight. When she moaned, the sound washed over him like a tidal wave.
Just when he thought he couldn't take anymore, she asked, "What should he do next? He'll do whatever you say."
"You're a horribly vulgar woman!" Klaus snarled. His hands clutching the comforter under him. He watched his double's fingers trace the edge of the last bit of fabric separating him from where he wanted to be most. "Stop!" Klaus stood, out of breath. "Stop this right now!"
And Niklaus froze.
"What's wrong?" she pouted. "You don't want to play anymore?"
Klaus growled and ripped her up off the floor by her hair. She only laughed as he slammed her into the wall and held her there by her throat. His face was vamped out now. Due to his anger or arousal, he wasn't sure. And it irritated him to no end.
"If you wanted to trade places with him, all you had to do was ask," she said. Her eyes flashing brightly in color for a moment and then fading back to normal.
"I'm not interested in playing your lewd games," he lied.
"You sure?" she reached out a hand to touch his cheek, but he grabbed it and slammed it onto the wall behind her. "You don't have to lie. It's just us in here, love."
"When I find you… I'm going to rip you apart!"
She bit her lip. "Promise?"
Before he knew it, he was kissing her and then he couldn't stop kissing her. He pressed her tongue into her mouth eager to taste her. She was bittersweet. Like whiskey and chocolate. He pressed his body against her until there was no space between them.
And then he woke up.
A little twisted, no? Let me know what you thought. If enough of you guys like this side (or version) of Kiara, I will keep that in mind for future chapters. Eventually, Sky will be no more and Kiara will be a fully realized succubus. Some things are bound to change, right? If you don't like this version of her, let me know how do you think Kiara would act once she has accepted the monster within.
Anyway, I also wanted to let you know that I am now on Instagram. I read tarot cards professionally now. If any of you guys want a tarot reading, follow me and shoot me a message. I go by reading_with_red.
As always, thank you for reading. :)
