Amber released a tired yawn as she quietly got ready for bed. After finishing brushing her teeth, she couldn't help but stare into her vanity mirror.

Three days, it had been nearly three days since Sofia was dragged into the amulet by Vor. She could just see the terrified look on her little sister's face as she desperately tried to reach for someone, anyone before it was too late.

She shivered, shaking her head to dispel the memory. "It's all over," she said silently, as she got up to make her way to her bed she heard three quick, but barely audible knocks from her bedroom door.

Curious, she made her way over to the ornately polished wood and opened it. There, standing in her light blue nightgown, with a tear-streaked face, was her little sister, Sofia.

"Sofia, are you okay?" Sofia looked like she was about to say something when she opened her mouth, but paused, closed her mouth, and gently shook her head. Without even thinking about what she was supposed to do, Amber quickly wrapped her arms around Sofia's body as she began shaking violently in her arms.

"It- it was so horrible. I thought I- I was n- never going to see you again," Sofia whimpered in her sister's shoulder. Amber clutched her sister tighter, trying to tell her that she was safe without the use of words.

"It's okay, Sofia. I'm here," she soothed, gently running her fingers through her sister's long red locks.

"It's just that every time I close my eyes, she's right there in front of me."

Sofia, it's over now. You don't have anything to worry about," Amber said, pulling the two of them apart and giving her sister a gentle smile. "Hey, why don't you sleep with me for a bit, just until this whole thing blows over, alright?" Sofia nodded and gave her smile as she curled beneath the covers beside her older sister.

Amber stayed awake for an extra hour or two, just watching her sister sleep with a concerned frown. She hoped she could get through whatever nightmares of that night, however long it would take.
