The following workday, I walked into Merlotte's, I could tell something was running the rumor mill. I was curious. So for once on purpose, I let my guard down to dip into the minds.

I found out that Maudette had been murdered last night. The body was found this morning. So many of Bon Temps residents were thinking about who could have done it. I sleuthed out that she was a Fang-banger and she regularly went to a bar down in Shreveport. The method of the murder was strangulation, that poor woman!

It was the day run and most people in here either worked close to Merlotte's or they didn't work at all, our daily regular Jane Bodehouse was nursing a beer for lunch.

I had used my break to talk to René about electricians and some service people. Bill needed help with fixing up the old Compton house that he was staying in. I told him on our date that I would try and help as he was struggling to get someone on the phone at night.

"Sure Sissi." René agreed. He made a list of people he knew that I could call. Thankfully, he didn't ask why I needed them. The next few days after finding out had been very busy, though I didn't mind.

It had been about a week until I could find someone who wasn't afraid of helping Bill with his house. I'd have to tell him later tonight when he's awake. Hmm, I wonder where he sleeps in that big house? It was around 9 when I had decided to walk on over to Bills. To tell him the news about the construction and electrical workers that had agreed to help.

In the driveway, there was a Lincoln Continental it was white with a dark blue top. I thought about turning around I didn't want to interrupt his company. I didn't listen to my polite gut feeling, so I kept on walking up to the door to give it a knock. At first, it had been as if no one had heard. Just as I was about to knock again the door opened to reveal a female vampire.

She was beautiful and quite frightening, her skin glowed and her fangs were stained slightly red. I didn't know if it was Trueblood, but I doubted it.

" Hello, little human girl " she breathed and purred. I turned up my nose and snubbed her advances.

" Is Bill here? I have information about an electrical service he wanted. "

She didn't enjoy my disinterest. I could feel the slight tingle that meant she was trying to glamour me. I giggled just as I had for Bill the night of our date. I winked at her and then pushed her aside. I tried my best to not be afraid of her. I was fairly sure Bill wouldn't let her harm me, I wanted to show that she couldn't just push me around.

I crept into the parlor. I immediately noticed the house was occupied by two more vampires and two humans that seemed to be Fang-bangers. The vampires were both white, one relatively short for a man, muscular, and covered in tattoos.

The other stood around 6'4" had long black hair with a slim build. The humans were a woman and a man, she looked kinda sickly thin and looked about thirty-five with skin like a worn-out leather boot. The human man was quite different. Androgynous presenting and absolutely beautiful. Bill was standing in the corner, his facial expression stony and blank. It was the tattooed one that spoke about me rather than to me.

" Now we have a party, this must be Bills' little friend." I didn't like the way his fangs glinted in the firelight. I held up a piece of paper with names and times.

" I got in touch with some people for you about the work you mentioned."

He didn't move a muscle, so I put it on the table. I was about to leave but the female vampire was blocking the doorway.

" Bill, I thought you were only drinking synthetic, "

The other male vampire said aloud. The female chimes in that I looked like a virgin, somehow, I knew she didn't mean if I had sex yet. The other called her by name, Diane. The vampiress slowly inched closer to me until Bill had roared from his corner. I found him right behind me now. His arms tightly held me to his chest.

" Sissi is mine!"

This action seemed to stop the rest in their tracks. Diane sneered at him but she quickly went back to her original spot faster than my eyes could see. It got quiet for a second. Until Malcolm chimes in, the vamp with the long hair. He claimed I had a funny-looking face.

"You think every woman is funny looking. Please do shut up." Diane mocked. He chuckled at that.

"I mean it in a good way this time. You dear, look interesting. I can't quite place it."

The blonde human woman spoke up. Her words slurred.

"There's nothing special about that girl, that's just crazy Sissi Stackhouse."

I didn't know who she was, but she obviously knew me, I kept my mouth shut about my ability. 3-1 didn't seem like the odds were in my favor if the vamps decide that they want me for dinner.

The tattooed vampire began rubbing on her breasts. I couldn't help but feel disgusted with the sight. She responded by rubbing the bulge in his jeans. I filed the knowledge that vampires can have sex into my cabinet of random facts.

Despite that, I wasn't happy with that right at this moment. I'd hate to think about it… no, don't freak out. Keep your cool! Malcolm seemed to notice though. He called Bill's bluff, branded me an innocent.

" I'm His!" Bill growled in a menacing tone and I swear If I wasn't so scared, I'd probably get aroused. Diane looked me up and down.

" Oh Bill, no one's gonna take her. We're just saying that you look mighty hungry! Why don't you take a bit of Liam's woman or Malcolm's pretty boy? You're looking quite pale and droopy. That's all. "

I didn't believe her for one moment. She would try if Bill wasn't so close. Malcolm's partner slid closer, he was perched on the couch offering himself. Bill left my side. I was now exposed and vulnerable to Diane.

He walked over to the man and positioned himself to feed. The light illuminated his waxy-looking flesh. It was almost translucent in some places. The Trueblood clearly wasn't taking care of all the needs.

-just fucking drink stupid bastard. I can't wait to kill all of you. You'll get sick and die yes come on! Come 'drink. I hope you die of Hep D - *

"WAIT!" I screamed out " He's got Hep D!"

Hep d was a disease that could affect vampires. It made them very weak! if someone came back to stake them, they wouldn't be able to fight back. Although if the vampire gets enough of a dose, they can die even without being staked.

All the vampires froze in shock. Every eye was laid on Jerry, the name of the young man that Malcolm brought to feed on. Next thing I know he jumps at me, his hands wrapped around my throat, I tried with all my might to get him off.

Bill leaped after Jerry, yelled for him to take his hands off of me. I could see the images of Jerry's lover who had given him hep d. The man that infected him died by his hands. It was a death sentence, this seems to be his last hurrah!

Bill managed to pry him off me. He broke Jerry's wrist in the process, the screams echoed as he collapsed to the floor. Malcolm picks him up and carries him to the couch as if he weighed nothing. I knew from Malcolm's face that Jerry would be lucky if he died quickly.

Liam spoke up and said that it had been fun, but it was certainly time to go. He was talking while the blonde was still rubbing his bulge as if none of that had just gone down.

" We have to get back to Monroe and have a chat with Jerry," Malcolm said.

" Hold on boys, how did this human know?" Diane asked.

Liam took a moment to cum before saying something. He wore a look of completion, he paused for a second he didn't seem to care anymore. Although Malcolm certainly did, he looked at me inquisitively.

"yes, darling how did you know?" he asked me.

Each second I didn't answer Malcolm got closer. Bill pushed me behind him.Something told me to not speak a word about how I knew that Jerry was infected.

Both Diane and he looked like they were ready to rip the answer from me, but Bill told them to leave. They all collected their shit and hightailed it out of Bill Compton's home. Once I heard the car start, I turned around to look him in the eye, I pointed my finger at his chest.

" I am not yours, but I see that sentence saved my life. " I was livid and scared that I almost became vamp chow.

His face softened. I was furious. I took my leave at that moment, I could hear Bill following me. He grabbed my arm. I turned around so fast that I smacked him out of shock and pure fury. He let me, even though he could have grabbed my hand, he let me get my anger out. I was so angry tears started to leak out of my eyes so he just held me close.

" I'm sorry, I didn't expect company..." he went silent knowing nothing he could say could make up for what happened.

" They will kill him, won't they?" I said in a quiet voice, Bill nodded his head silently confirming my fear.

" Why would you hang around those creeps? Do you act like that? What the hell Bill?" I just kept shooting off questions as my body shook and the tears stained my cheeks.

" When vampires live in covens or groups like that, they tend to lose their humanity. Those who live alone like me tend to remember our humanity.

Even though the news has come out with our ability to mainstream with Synthetic blood doesn't mean all of us will.

I'm so sorry you had to experience that; can you ever forgive me?" That was all he said, and I didn't speak for a long time before answering.

" I need time, I'm ready to go home." He was smart enough not to follow me. The rest of the night I stayed up. I was manic, I couldn't stop pacing my home. Hoping that those two wouldn't come back for me.
