The next morning I felt my muscles protest. I ached so well though. It had been years since I had someone rock my world like that. He was long gone as the autumn sun cast shadows across the empty side of my bed.

I just basked at the moment allowing myself to hold on to last night before braving the rest of the world. I turned on my record player and allowed the music to caress my ears. I fired up the stove and began to cook to my heart's desire. The cacophony of scents woke Tara.

"Well then. I see what a good fucking does for you. Bill should come over more often. "

"Sorry, did we wake you?"

"The screams and shouts of 'Oh Bill.' Would have woke the dead."

"We'll go to his place next time."

Once the food was done she made herself a plate. I was singing to myself as I ate the full spread. Tara looked at me and smiled. It dawned on me this was the first time I had been happy since Gran died. Tara took notice of that as well.

"You seem happy when he's around."

"I think you're right."

We had a touching moment. It lasted through breakfast. Once done she helped me wash the dishes.

"So, what are you doing today?" Tara inquisitively asked.

"Honestly not sure... what about you?"

"Unlike you, I have to work today. Thank you for breakfast. "She soon ran off to do whatever until she had to leave for work.

For today I decided to treat myself, I had a spa day. I used my aromatherapy machine to set the mood while music played in the background.

Since I've moved rooms I gained my own bathroom instead of using the one in the hall. The room was steamy and smelled like lemon and sandalwood. Once out of the bath, I oiled my skin and put a hair mask on while I waited I did my toes. Bill just about sucked the paint right off last night.

Later in the day I went over to Bills and waited for him to wake up. It wasn't anywhere near sunset but I missed him. I found the key under the welcome mat, he really should find a better hiding place.

The Compton house was used as a hospital during the war. He was a farmer before a soldier. He worked hard and long for his money. The house had been passed down through the years. The inside was completely redone, the flooring replaced and the electrical work completed. I turned on the light to see the place lit by a chandelier in the walkway.

I made sure to lock the door behind me. I wonder where Bill sleeps? I never did ask if it was in a coffin or a bed. I decided to explore the place on my own.

Some of the rooms weren't finished yet I believe he is trying to restore some of these rooms to historical accuracy. I walked into a room that was covered in bookshelves from top to bottom. The nerd in me couldn't be contained, I decided to look around and see if I could find something to read.

I found a few books. There were so many he even had several in different languages. I didn't know Bill could speak French and Arabic but I guess living for an eternity can get boring so why not learn as much as you possibly can.

I found a photo book opened on a table.
They seemed to be old pictures of Bill's family. I decided to take my leave from the library to explore more. I went back downstairs, I found the kitchen but it only had a microwave and a fridge fully stocked with True-blood. I never did find a coffin. All the beds in the house seemed as if they had been unoccupied for quite some time.

I checked my phone for the time, it was only a bit after 3 pm. I lay on the couch to take a nap. I held one of the books I brought downstairs and started to read until my eyes could no longer stay open. When I woke up there was a red throw over me, although no one was around.

" Bill" I called but no one answered, I checked the time it was still too early for him to be up.

I got up to check the door. It was still locked however I peeped that a door was cracked. One that had been shut before I went to sleep. It was pitch black inside the room, no windows and the light switch didn't work.

I used the flashlight on my phone to find Bill passed out on a bed in the corner. His back was turned away from the light it seemed.

I made sure to not shine the light over him so he doesn't wake, the rest of the room was almost empty except for a chair and desk with some papers, books, and a lamp. I decided to leave the room to not disturb him. He called out for me. His voice was thick with sleep.

" I didn't mean to wake you"

Bill turned towards me and scooted over so I could lay with him. My face was tucked into his neck, we slept in each other's arms.

When I woke again for the third time that day Bill was sitting at his desk reading. The desk light glowed faintly but I could still see his features.

His hair had grown a tad longer in the back than I remembered it being. His skin looked better but I think it's because he fed on me last night which would contribute to that.

"Did you enjoy yourself? I heard you snooping about earlier. "

" I didn't know you knew I was here, let alone about that" he turned to look at me smugly.

"I knew you entered my home as soon as you stepped foot inside. You have my blood love. I can get a sense of where you are from anywhere. Your scent is quite potent as well, that's a lovely perfume you have on today."I was shocked and a little disturbed by that.

" You never told me you could sense all that about me." he moved too fast for me to see, the dark didn't help much but he ended up being on his knees by the bed.

" Well, I know you went upstairs and got one of my books. I heard you moving through the house. I checked on you when I didn't hear any movement after a while."He pushed a piece of hair behind my ear and kissed my forehead.

" Were you missing me?" I kissed his hand and told him the truth.

" I was curious about where you sleep, I'm glad I found out." I smiled triumphantly and he climbed on top of me to celebrate my discovery.

Around 6:45 we left the house in search of food. My stomach grumbled one too many times for Bill's liking. So we headed to Merlotte's in search of a quick meal. It was kinda strange going for pleasure instead of work but it was still the same. Arlene was working and so was Tara, Sam had hired a new barmaid since Dawn ... well, you know.

Jason and Hoyte were chilling drinking beer and Lafayette was working the kitchen. Terry was bringing some crates from the back to stock the bar. I didn't see Sam but I'm sure he was here as well. We sat at the bar instead of Bill's normal table, I wanted to talk to Tara.

" Well if it isn't the two lovebirds. Bill whatever you did to her last night, you better keep on doing it. My breakfast this morning was too good to go back to cereal."

He laughed and asked what I cooked but of course, big mouth Tara spoke instead, describing the meal in detail, she must have really liked it. It was an old recipe of grans that had been in the family for a long time. Jason came up behind me and put his arm around my shoulder and Bills

" So I hear you two are together again... I'm glad I'm tired of seeing my sister mope around ." I smacked his arm and he laughed running off to talk to some new girl.

I'm surprised there were girls he still hadn't had sex with. Since he was released from almost going down for Renè's crimes. He has been woman crazy more so than normal talking about life is short blah, blah, blah. He just wanted to get his dick wet. He will never learn!

The night went on as we laughed and enjoyed each other's presence. That was until Andy Bellefleur got too drunk. He was slurring his words and trying to hit on anything walking. Sam called his sister, she seemed to be the only Bellefleur that made it.

Even though Andy was a cop he was shit at his job. Their grandmother was still alive but senile in their decaying mansion on the hill. They were prideful and full of themselves.

They had been here since the civil war. So were the Compton's and the Stackhouse's. Part of Gran's, well, my home is almost 200 years old. Most of it is refurbished or new but eh, his sister walked in upset that she had to come to get her brother...

That night was one I'd remember not because Bellefleur made a fool out of himself, but because I was surrounded by people who loved me. Although in the morning was something entirely different.

The night before had been great but when I came in to help open the bar we discovered it wasn't a good night for everyone, poor Jane Bodehouse was dead... in Andy Bellefleur's car.

Police swarmed the place, it was surreal, to be honest, I always thought she would die of alcohol poisoning. She was one of the resident alcoholics that came into the bar during the day and would stay till she couldn't drink anymore.

Either that or Sam had to call her son to come to pick her up. Her body was lacerated like the girls' at Fangtasia. Something was different this time though the heart was missing.

A huge gaping hole was where the organ should have been. The cops don't know what to make of it, they labeled it an animal attack. They believe only an animal could have created the kind of scars across her chest and back. they were oozing the same black goo. I know one thing for sure, I needed to see Eric!

We needed to figure out what was hunting people and fast!

Later that night around 8 pm, a beautiful woman breezes into the bar. She was tall and voluptuous with long hair to her waist. She seemed to catch the eyes of everyone in the room. It was about time for me to get off work but she sat in my section, so I decided to take care of her before I left.

" Hello, what can I get you?"

She turned to look at me, her eyes were almost unnaturally dark they looked almost plum but they couldn't be. Right?

She ordered rounds and food for everyone in the bar. I got the feeling that this woman may not be human. Whatever she was I didn't want to stay so I left after putting her order in. I'll have to go by Fangtasia and relay the strange interaction with the woman.

Bill and I walked into Fangtasia, I decided to change before we left. Bill wore casual attire a sweater with dark wash jeans. I decided to wear a black dress and heeled knee-high boots with a leather jacket.

It got kinda cool at night so I just wanted to make sure I looked the part but was functional. I no longer got carded as I was recognized by now. We were escorted to the back as neither Pam nor Eric was out in the bar tonight.

" Well, I see you've charmed him back into your bed." It was Pam, of course, she was talking about Bill and me being together.

" Almost too well darling, but most wouldn't complain."

Bill choked on some of his Trueblood. Every time she and I meet we throw sarcastic words around like it's a game. I think she might secretly like it but she would never tell.

" Children are you done playing", it was Eric, of course, mocking us for our wordplay.

"Party pooper! " Pam muttered, yes I think she secretly likes me.

" I think we have a problem, the same creature killed someone at my job last night. Clawed her up and took the heart. Oh, before I left after my shift this lady came in. She didn't seem human but I can't be sure..."

I described what happened at Merlotte's, we were no closer to knowing what we were dealing with and that set me on edge. Eric told me he would contact me if he finds anything. I assume that means he will be researching or asking around. To relax, Bill and I decided to stay and dance for a while.

The music flooded my senses, I allowed myself to truly let go. The stress wasn't going to affect me I wouldn't allow it! I was going to enjoy my boyfriend.

The beat fed my soul and body spiritual food, I danced my pain and sorrow out. I made the dance floor my burial ground for the negative vibes. Everyone including Bill disappeared it was just me and the music, it was freeing!

" You never told me you could dance like that..." I was out of breath. We both walked to the bar and took a seat.

" Yes, I've always danced even as a child. Gran has some home videos of me creating little dances with my friends.." I didn't notice the eyes that were on me...

Bill left to go pull the car up, my feet were killing me. I went to the bathroom while I waited. I was followed. The lights flickered after I finished washing my hands. Suddenly they went out.

" Shit, Eric with all that money you should have working lights." I heard a snicker I used my flashlight on my phone to try and see who it was

"Anyone in here?"

Out of the corner of my eye, I saw something run but it was just a shadow. Like the one inside that girl's head. I ran to the door and tried to pry it open. The door wouldn't budge, a voice was whispering something that I couldn't understand.

I started to bang on the door... I could feel something behind me but I was too afraid to turn around. Something told me to use my power. Maybe it was an angel or something. Maybe my inner voice... I don't know whatever it was saved me. My light shined so brightly, I had to turn my head and close my own eyes. The darkness disappeared and the door opened on its own.

" Thank you," I said softly into the now empty room.

I picked my phone off the ground and left the bathroom, it was as if nothing happened, I walk through the crowds of people and find Bill waiting at the door. I decided to not tell him about what just happened. Time had stopped while I was in the bathroom. What was it that helped me? I don't know but I'm grateful! What could possibly be hurting people...? The drive home went without a hitch, as soon as my head touched the pillow I was out.
