I don't own Dieffenbaker OR Fraser.
Trade You For the Hat
Dief knows his man keeps his promises, so he will hide the head-thing his man always has near him and not give it back until the man's head makes the 'yes' motion. He seizes his opportunity when his man is standing under the waterfall in the other cave and the head-thing is unguarded.
When his man returns to the big cave, his mouth is moving, and from the way he looks around and his lip-shapes, Dief knows he's trying to find the head-thing. His man looks over at him, and Dief calls his attention to the shapes he's arranged on the front of the cold metal box. Dief knows those shapes--they're on the containers with the picture of what he wants.
His man opens the cold metal box, removes a container. He pours its liquid contents into a bowl; his scent is annoyed. Dief isn't happy about it either; his man clearly hasn't gotten the message. He nudges the picture on the empty bottle with his nose. Not that, he attempts to communicate--this!
Lip-shapes: "Moose? You want moose?"
Dief wags his tail in satisfaction. Not Moosehead beer, moose meat. And because his man is now making the 'yes' motion, Dief strolls over to the cabinet where he hid the head-thing, pawing it open. His man won't leave their den without the head-thing, and the sooner he leaves, the sooner he'll be back with the promised moose.
Meanwhile, there's no reason to let the Moosehead go to waste.
