Authors note: Four years later and I still don't own Teen Titans but I will finish this story. Drop me a line if you have suggestions.

*Beastboy's POV*

Waking up next to Terra is my greatest dream come true but, unfortunately, when I woke up the next day I still couldn't see her to make it real in my mind. I could still feel her breath on my neck and her body curled into mine. I guess that's better than nothing. Better than a couple of other ways I've woken up. Like that one time I managed to get alcohol off of Jinx (once she turned good but had a random rebel streak and had a set-back). I had been like two weeks after I saw Terra last year at her school and she didn't come with me. Like I said, those few weeks after that event was hard. Like getting over that hangover.

I managed to feel my way to the bathroom while hobbling with a broken leg and get back without bumping into too many things.

"So, you got to the bathroom with minimal destruction I see." I heard her say

"Yeah, I didn't wake you, did I?"

"Well, I mean, a little. You bumped the dresser pretty hard there. Couldn't have been good for your back or the kidneys." She was also so concerned for me. I mean, I know she blames herself but she shouldn't.

"Well, I'm still standing now. More or less." Luckily for me when she started talking I was able to find my way back to the bed while following her voice. "And I'm starving...so maybe.. You could help me down stair for breakfast." I hoped wiggling my eyebrows at her would have the same effect that it usually did, even if I couldn't see her face while I did it.

Luckily, my ears still worked so I could hear the normal giggle that went with it.

"Let's go, gimp boy. I'm sure Cyborg will have breakfast ready and maybe some good news."

I felt her arm loop under my shoulder and help me get to the elevator and down to the wondrous smell of tofu waffles.

*Terra's POV*

10 minutes ago I was woken to the sound of a hip connecting with my dresser and a string of swear words along with it. And now I was sitting in the midst of chaos.

Starfire was dumping mustard on her waffles and making humming sounds of enjoyment. Robin and Cyborg were having some sort of whisper argument and thinking that they were getting away with it. I was trying to help a stubborn blind man eat and trying not to let my own food get cold. And Raven was quietly ignoring all of us.

"So, Robin, Cyborg, is there anything that you want to share with the rest of the class?" I finally had to ask when I heard the word "surgery" more than once.

They just stared at each other.

Then the argument of "you tell her", "no, you tell her" ensued.

"Just one of you fucking tell me before I lose my temper."

"She'll do it. Her control is much better but it's not 100% yet. Besides, you can't keep whatever it is from the rest of us when we all heard the word surgery." Raven looked up from her tea just long enough to come to my defense.

"Who said surgery?" Beast Boy said.

"Correction: most of us heard surgery."

Robin just sighed and glanced back to Cyborg. "We heard from the hospital earlier this morning. They have a doctor visiting from Germany this week. This doctor told them about a new surgical technique for eye repair that they developed and he has also agreed to take Beast Boy's case and perform the surgery before he leaves this weekend." Another heavy sigh "It's experimental and it could result in complete blindness. Forever."

"So it could cure me or make me permanently like this?" Beast Boy contemplated. "Do we have any other options? I mean it's been almost two weeks. Do they have any other leads?"

"This is the only thing that they haven't already tried." Cyborg sounded defeated when he said this. He must know that blindness was driving Beast Boy absolutely insane. And if that wasn't than the way everyone was acting around him certainly was.

"Then I guess we're doing it."

"Beast Boy… maybe we should talk…"

"I can't do this anymore. This is the only option we have."

"What if this becomes permanent though?"

"We'll figure that out if we need to." He smiled over in my general direction. "God your always so negative."

We'll I guess teasing was a good sign for his mood.

"I'll go call them back, then."

Robin left the room and we all went back to eating. This time in silence.

*Beast Boy's POV*

I could be blind forever. Of course I'm trying to stay calm but man am I freaking out inside. The one good thing about my eyesight was my hearing had gotten better. Which was already amazing but it's like I had bat sonar on all the time. So I was the first person to look up in the direction of the door when Robin came back in the room.

"When's the appointment?"

"You go into surgery at 1. So go shower and get a bag together."

I felt Terra help me up and lead me back upstairs. It was a silent trip up.

But maybe by the end of the day, I'll actually be able to see her face.
