Notes: This is going to be a part Rikku/Auron fic, but not going into serious things. There will also be parts of this going from English to Al Bhed, so if you aren't a nerd and study it like me, then you can read the translation if she reads it in English, or if I post it on the bottom after I'm done.
Other things: I do not own Final Fantasy X or any of the characters. I also do not own the Al Bhed language.
It was already sunset when the group found their way to the Calm Lands. They decided they would camp there for the night. As usual, Tidus was fast asleep, snoring no less. Rikku hated sharing a tent with him, but she didn't complain. At least not out loud…
Time had passed, and Rikku was still awake. She took out her journal, that she wrote in every once and a while. She had written more in it ever since she became Yuna's guardian not too long before. She looked at past dates; almost all of them were either week's apart, or just days apart. She took out something to write with, and she started writing:
E lyh'd pameaja ed. Fa'na cu lmuca du Zanarkand, yht Yunie cdemm rych'd lryhkat ran seht ypuid ran bemknesyka. Ed ech'd vyen! Cra cruimth'd ryja du tea, zicd du pnehk rybbehacc du Spira. E fuh'd mad ran tea...cra'c so vysemo. E zicd fecr drana fyc y fyo dryd fa luimt gaab ran ymeja. She stopped writing and she left the tent, carrying her Journal with her, hoping that she could think of something, and then write it down so she wouldn't forget.
When morning came, she felt a tap on her shoulder. She had fallen asleep, and she woke up to see Auron right above her. She sat up and rubbed her eyes and the looked back up at him, "Where's everyone else?"
"They're all still asleep," He sat down in front of her, "We'll be leaving after they all get up, which should be soon," there was a pause in his thought, and then it was quiet, "How did you manage to get out here anyway?" He asked her.
"Oh…I couldn't sleep, so I was writing. I came out here, because Tidus's snoring was getting kind of annoying." She replied.
"What were you writing about?" She thought for a moment, then she opened her journal and showed him the page that she wrote on. He looked at it, "I can't read this, I hope you know."
"Oh…right…it's just saying things…about Yunie and her pilgrimage."
"Read it to me. I want to know specifically what."
She was a bit hesitant. 'I never had to read my journal out loud before…' She took her journal back, and she looked at the page and started reading, "I can't believe it. We're so close to Zanarkand, and Yunie still hasn't changed her mind about her pilgrimage. It isn't fair! She shouldn't have to die, just to bring happiness to Spira. I won't let her die...she's my family. I just wish there was a way that we could keep her alive." She closed her journal, and then stared at the ground.
"I see. I know you're worried about her, we all are. But it's what she wants to do, and there's nothing we can do about it. It's her choice if she wants to do this, and if she wants to stop, then we can't stop her. It's her journey, and if she wants to fulfill it, then she will. If she wants to continue with it, then we'll all just have to wait and see how the end turns out. She might not die when she summons the Final Aeon, but we won't know until the time comes."
"I understand…I just wish there was another way, you know?"
He said nothing, and stood up. The others were starting to get up, and he went to go help them pack up. Rikku just stayed there, thinking about what he said, then Tidus came out and he asked her to help them, so she did.
This is my first FFX fic, so please don't flame me or tell me I suck, please. Well, you can, but put it lightly.
