The quartet of Jack, Kate, Charlie, and Antonio were walking through the forest as they tested the transmitter they had gotten from the plane. Almost trying to make sense of the place they were, this island seemed to have something completely different than expected.
(Charlie) - Did you get anything?
(Jack) - You keep asking me if I got anything.
(Charlie) - Forgive me for sounding desperate, but before the pilot was yanked out of the cockpit, he said that no one will find us unless we... get this transmitter working. So... Is there anything?
(Jack) - No.
(Kate) - What were you doing? In the bathroom? - Talking to Charlie.
(Charlie) - I thought you might say. I was sick. Vomiting. My only tangible contribution to the trip.
(Kate) - No. I'm glad you came, Charlie.
(Charlie) - Every journey needs a coward.
(Jack) - You are not a coward.
(Antonio) - I think I can agree with Jack on this one. You don't look like a coward to me.
Walking along, Antonio felt something bothering him at that very point that even he couldn't tell. But the worry was growing in an unimaginable way. What had he found in the forest? It was something that not even the survivors could describe.
On Oceanic Flight 815, Antonio was coming out of the bathroom, trying to keep his balance so as not to fall to the floor of the plane.
(Antonio) - Eve, look, I got pictures that even you wouldn't believe. I have fulfilled part of my little adventure in Australia, I will sit down and tell you what pictures I got.
Antonio looks at Charlie, who seemed to be nervous, tapping one of his fingers on his hands, while the stewardess, Cindy, looked at him, a little worried.
(Cindy) - Are you okay, sir?
(Charlie) - I'm fine. Thank you.
(Cindy) - I can get you some water, or...
(Charlie) (angry) - I'm fine. I'm fine. Thank you. Please?
(Cindy) - All right.
As Antonio continued to walk, Charlie started to run, bumping into Antonio, who then bumped into Jack, somewhat surprisingly.
(Charlie) - Excuse me. Sir, excuse me! [getting angry] Sir, excuse me!
(Rose) - I guess he really had to go.
(Cindy) - Sir, excuse me! [getting angry] Sir, excuse me!
(Antonio) - What's going on, Eve? Nothing. It's just a passenger who wants to go to the bathroom.
Charlie tried to unlock the bathroom doors, but without success. Antonio walked back toward his seat, still on the phone.
(Antonio) - I have it all here, and in the meantime, when I get to Los Angeles, I will pass on to you everything I got from our section on the wonders of the world.
-Excuse me? - A blond-haired woman spoke to Charlie, a little annoyed at what was happening.
He sits down again, as he continues on the phone. After speaking, Antonio ends the call, standing next to the southern-looking man who was sitting in a seat to his right.
(Cindy) - Ladies and gentlemen, the captain has turned on the "fasten seatbelt" lights. Please return to your seats and fasten your seat belts.
-Mister, open the door, please!
After the conversation Antonio and the Southerner had about secrets and problems, Antonio was confident that nothing would happen, so he fastened his seat belts. Then the plane shook, and the only thing he felt was his head pounding, and he passed out.
On the beach, Shannon, the woman with the blonde hair that Charlie had bumped into, sat on the sand, sunbathing, while her brother Boone approached, at the same time as the other survivors looked at the carcass and the plane, crashed, with an enormous amount of fear in it all.
(Boone) - Hey. We're going through some clothes. Sorting them out. I see you found your bag. Come on, you want to give us a hand?
(Shannon) - Not really. You are wasting your time. They are coming.
Boone leaves, and at this, Claire sits down on Shannon's side, causing her to look away, somewhat surprisingly.
(Claire) - Is this your boyfriend?
(Shannon) - My brother. Boone. God's bloody gift to mankind.
(Claire) - I had a stomach.
(Shannon) - Do you know what this means?
(Claire) - Not yet. I haven't felt the baby move since yesterday.
While the quartet was returning from the forest, suddenly Antonio sees a fight between the Southerner and Sayid, almost pushing each other, trying to punch each other in an unimaginable way.
(Michael) - Hey guys. Come on, man, I don't know what to do. Hey.
(Jack) - Hey. Break it up. Break it up! No way! That's it! That's it! That's it!
(Sawyer) - Son of a gun!
(Jack) - I've had it with that bumpkin!
(Sawyer) - Do you want some more of me, boy?
(Sayid) - Tell everyone what you told me! Tell them that I crashed the plane! Go on! Tell them I caused the plane crash!
(Sawyer) - If the shoe fits, buddy!
(Jack) - What's going on?
(Sayid) - Ibn Al-Kalb!
Michael runs toward Jack, showing him what appears to be a pair of handcuffs on the spot.
(Michael) - Look, my son found this in the forest!
(Antonio) - Was anyone inside the plane handcuffed? - He speaks, somewhat surprisingly to him.
(Michael) - As it turns out, yes.
(Sawyer) - And this guy was sitting in the back row of business class, the whole flight, never got up. Hands crossed under the blanket.
(Sayid) - Ah.
(Sawyer) - And for some reason, just putting it out there - the guy sitting next to him couldn't.
(Sayid) - Thank you very much for observing my behavior.
(Sawyer) - Don't you think I saw them pull you out of the line before we boarded?
And at that, Sawyer and Sayid tried to hit each other again, about to start another fight once more.
(Sawyer) - Come on, you can come! You can come with everything!
(Kate) - Stop it! - Sighs, after they break up the fight between Sawyer and Sayid. - We found the transmitter, but it's not working. Can anyone help us?
(Sayid) - Sure. I think I can help with that.
(Sawyer) - Oh, great, perfect! Let's trust this guy!
(Hurley) - Hey, we're in this together, man. Let's treat each other with a little respect.
(Sawyer) - Shut up, Fatso!
(Jack) - Hey, give me a break.
(Antonio) - Here, I think I have to agree with Jack. We are destroying ourselves with these discussions!
(Sawyer) - And you, stand still! - He starts to walk towards Antonio, who starts to get irritated.
Meanwhile, Saywer and Antonio start fighting with each other, while Jack and Kate try to separate them again.
(Kate) - Stop it!
(Antonio) - Are you trying to think you are the leader here by any chance? - He points his finger in Saywer's direction, completely furious. - You're trying to accuse someone here of bringing down the plane, but that could be to deflect blame!
(Sawyer) - What are you saying? Are you implying that I'm a terrorist? That I'm the one who brought down the plane?
(Antonio) - If the shoe fits!
The two start to get at each other again, starting another fight, while the survivors try to separate Sawyer and Antonio.
(Jack) - Will you stop it! - He points at Saywer, and then points at Antonio. - Let's not go on like this! Until we understand what is happening, we have to work together!
(Antonio) - Let go of me, okay! I'm just worried about our safety here!
(Sawyer) - I'll do whatever you want, doctor. You're the hero.
(Boone) - Did you guys find the cockpit? - Jack nods, confirming Boone's answer. - Do you have any survivors?
(Jack) - No.
(Sayid) (looking at communicator) - It's dual band, military spec. Chances are the battery is good, but the radio probably isn't working.
(Kate) - Can you fix it?
(Sayid) - I'm going to need some time.
(Rose) - Doctor, the man with the shrapnel... I think you'll want to take a look at him.
As Sayid looked at the communicator, Antonio came up, trying to talk to the man.
(Antonio) - Difficult, isn't it?
(Sayid) - That's right - He starts to fix the communicator, while Antonio starts to observe the repair.
(Antonio) - Do you mind if I help?
(Sayid) - I don't know if you could.
(Antonio) - Where I lived, I had to help my father fix some things at home. - He starts looking at the communicator. - My father had a communicator from his army days. Once, he showed me how to fix something like that.
(Sayid) - Is your father in the military?
(Antonio) - My father served in the Afghanistan War against the Soviets. He went on two tours at the time, before returning to the United States, where I was about to be born. Being honest, I learned to handle a lot of equipment thanks to him.
(Sayid) - What do you think it could be?
(Antonio) - I'm going with your opinion, Sayid. There has to be a specific place to use the radio.
Suddenly, Hurley approaches the two, as he looks at Antonio and Sayid.
(Hurley) - Those jerks.
(Sayid) - Some people have problems.
(Hurley) - Sure. Do some people have problems? We do. Him. You are nice. I like you.
(Sayid) - I like you, too.
(Hurley) - I'm Hurley. - He extends his hand toward Sayid, while Antonio. - Then.
(Sayid) - Sayid. - Extends his hand, shaking it.
(Antonio) - I am Antonio. - He shakes Hurley's hand, with the trio reunited with what was happening.
(Hurley) - How do you know all this?
(Sayid) - I was a communications officer in the army.
(Antonio) - My father was also military. I am using what he taught me to be able to help Sayid.
(Hurley) (looks at Sayid) - Really? Have you ever fought?
(Sayid) - I fought in the Gulf War.
(Hurley) - Bullshit! I have a friend who fought there. He was in the parachute division. Where were you from? Air Force? Army?
(Sayid) - The Republican Guard.
Antonio started walking, trying to understand the place they were in. Leaving Sayid and Hurley to talk a little, out of nowhere, he finds Kate, giving a little smile, as if she wasn't surprised. He then started walking towards her, staying at her side, sitting down and looking at the sea.
(Kate) - I had no idea you were on the plane.
(Antonio) - It is a long story. Let's say I was on a trip.
(Kate) - How's your job going?
(Antonio) - Section wonders of the world. I was sent to Australia to take the best possible pictures to publish in the section of the company I was working for.
(Kate) - You won't tell anyone that we met, will you?
(Antonio) - All for an old friend, Kate. - He looks at her, as he continued to dry his hair. - I didn't think I would see you again. Not after all that's happened so far. - She sighs, as if she was terribly afraid.
(Kate) - If you understood what I've been through up to now, it would be something you wouldn't even be able to understand properly. - She looked at the skies over the island, while Antonio felt an enormous fear in his body. - But what don't we do for friends? I don't tell, and you don't tell?
(Antonio) - You know I'm good at keeping secrets, Kate. Pretending I didn't know you was something I knew how to pretend very well, wasn't it?
(Kate) - You have always known what to hide and what to tell at every moment. It won't be the first time that one of us surrenders the agreement we have with each other.
(Antonio) - Always.
At this, Antonio started walking again, while he was a little surprised, but not that surprised. He didn't expect to see Kate again, but he knew he couldn't tell her anything about what he knew. But the secrets that the island hid was something that even he didn't know. What was that thing he had found in the forest?
On the Oceanic plane, getting up to go to the bathroom, Antonio starts to see his phone ringing, but out of the blue, he bumps into someone, and is a bit surprised.
(Antonio) - I'm sorry...
As he looked, he saw Kate, with her arms covered, making Antonio a little nervous, but they were smiling, as if it was the first time they had seen each other.
(Kate) - Do we know each other from somewhere?
(Antonio) - I don't know. You remind me a lot of an old friend of mine.
(Kate) - Really?
-Okay, the time for talking is over. Let's go. - A man in a black suit escorted Kate, while Antonio was a little surprised by what had happened.
He was a little surprised, but at the same time, with a little shy smile. Going to the bathroom, Antonio was a little thoughtful.
Kate started walking over to Sayid, as she finished drying his hair.
(Kate) - Is it working?
(Sayid) - It seems to be working. Except we're not getting a signal.
(Kate) - Why are we trying to get a signal? Aren't we trying to send one?
(Sayid) - Yes, but what we are trying to see are the little bars. The bars would show that the radio is getting a signal.
(Kate) - We need the bars.
(Sayid) - We could transmit blind. Hope that someone, maybe a ship that is around, can pick up our distress signal. But that would be a waste of battery power, which couldn't last long. But there is one thing we could try...
(Kate) - And what would that be?
(Sayid) - See if we can get a signal from a high place.
(Kate) - How high?
Sayid looks up at the mountain, along with Kate, making it very clear that things had just gotten complicated. It was a mission that would be a huge risk in all of this.
Jack looked at the man in the black suit who was lying there with the shrapnel, almost passed out.
(Kate) - How is he? Can you do something?
(Jack) - Take out the shrapnel.
(Kate) - But you said yesterday that if you took...
(Jack) - I know. But that was yesterday. I was hoping he could be in a hospital by now. If I leave him like this, he will be dead within a day. If I open him up now, if I can control the bleeding and he doesn't get sepsis and I can find some antibiotics, I am sure he will be fine.
(Kate) - I'm going for a walk.
(Jack) - How is it?
(Kate) - Sayid fixed the transmitter, but we can't use it. Not here.
(Jack) - Kate, wait a minute.
(Kate) - It was you who said we had to send a signal.
(Jack) - Look, you saw what that thing did to the pilot.
(Kate) - Yes, I saw it. What makes you think we are safer here than in the forest?
(Jack) - Wait for me, okay. - He looks at the man in the black suit, almost fainted. - I don't know how long this will last.
(Kate) - Sayid said the batteries won't last.
(Jack) - All right. If you see, or hear, anything. Anything at all. Run.
Kate started to walk, while Antonio came up beside her, leaving her half surprised.
(Antonio) - Sayid told me that you intend to go on a small mission to the mountains. Do you mind if I come along with you?
(Kate) - The more volunteers, the better. Remember what I said.
(Antonio) - I am good at keeping secrets, Kate. Like I told you before.
The mission was now one of trying to find a signal to get off the island. Antonio was about to take a risk, in a way he had never taken before. The fear of what was in the forest could not take over his body, because he was willing to do whatever was necessary to help the survivors. Kate, on the other hand, knew that if the others found out that she was on the plane with the man in the black suit, it would be very clear how much distrust would arise from this revelation. The feeling that the tension was enormous was progressing in every way. But to survive and to escape, they would need answers. And with the transmitter, it was very clear that the chance of being rescued was enormous.
To be continued...
Author's Note: Sorry for the long wait, folks. It's just writer's block in the last year has taken over in some of my stories and i'm starting to become a little bored about what I could do in the story. To be honest, there's 6 chapters of Lost already written, but I think only now i'm finding the inspiration to write new chapters again. Lost is one of my favorite series ever and to be honest, i'm gonna try my best to bring new chapters in these next few days, dear readers.
That was it for today, see you all next time!
