"A princess! See?" She pointed to the centre of her paper. "She's got a crown and is wearing her pretty kimono. She's waiting for her prince."
"Does he have to fight a wizard or a dragon to rescue her?" The kit chattered eagerly.
Rin hummed in thought. "Maybe both? Maybe the wizard has a dragon? And she's stuck in a—"
"Incorrect."
The children paused, both looking up at the daiyoukai in surprise.
"A princess is not a damsel, Rin. She can protect herself. If she is to wed the prince, she should be a partner—someone involved in the kingdom. Do not put her on a pedestal."
Dishes clattered to the ground.
