Chapter 21
Rose and Danny sat next to one another at the table. Danny had moved his chair to sit as close as he could to Rose. They had eaten dinner and had one of each kind of dessert that the restaurant inside of the Stark building offered. The restaurant, located on the tenth floor, had been excellent to keep them comfortable. She had even completely lost track of time as they sat and laughed together.
Jack, the other Dimension, and the Doctor had been completely forgotten. All there was in the world was Danny and her.
They took turns finishing one another's sentences and even found that they shared a lot of the same interests. Danny was accepting when she admitted that he had also been a big movie star in the Dimension she had originated from, but she hadn't seen but two of his movies. Oddly enough, movies that he hadn't made in this Dimension at all.
"I think, I need to have you look at a script Russ is trying to talk me into doing."
"I'd be happy to." She smiled just as they both heard the door close to the large room they were both in.
They both looked to see Mickey walking towards them with his hands outstretched. "I'm so sorry to interrupt, but…"
"Oh, it's alright." Danny smiled.
"What's wrong?" Rose asked.
"Nothing. Well, something." He made his way to the table. "I've been called away. Pete needs me back in London before morning, so I need to go. I didn't want to leave without telling you goodbye."
Danny smiled, "That's sweet. Can I expect a kiss, too?"
"Not from me, mate." Mickey laughed.
Rose stood up and Danny quickly jumped up to move her chair for her. She smiled as she looked back at him. "Thank you, Danny."
She looked at Mickey. "How can you get to London before morning?"
"Oh, the Bullet. My ticket is in an hour." He grinned and took both of her hands in his.
Rose wasn't certain what the Bullet was, and made a mental note to ask Danny about it later.
Deciding that they would also like to leave, Danny and Rose joined Mickey and walked back outside to the two limos that were waiting for them.
Danny helped Rose with her coat before they stepped out of the lobby. Mickey pulled his collar up and tucked his scarf into his jacket.
"Will I see you at Christmas?" Mickey asked Rose.
Rose shook her head. "I don't know."
"You aren't coming home?" He asked.
"I…." She closed her eyes.
Danny finished her sentence for her. "I don't think she's given it any thought yet."
Mickey nodded. "I got 'cha. Well, I'll tell everyone hello for you. Danny."
Danny shook his hand and smiled. "Have a safe trip."
They stepped outside into the snow that blew all over the busy city. Mickey walked to his limo, while Rose and Danny shared one back to their building.

Soli walked down the hallway of the med bay of his ship. It was late, and he wasn't ready to turn in quite yet. The excitement of spending the day with his adopted father had been one of the best. He knew Tony Stark needed to rest to continue to heal from his injuries.
Tony had wanted to sleep in a regular bed in one of the suites, but Soli asked him to stay close to the medical instruments for just one more night. At least there, he had the opportunity to sleep in a Healing Pod. Build into the side of the wall, Tony complained that it looked like a coffin and he was concerned if he would have a taste for blood upon waking up.
Soli explained that it would give him more oxygen and be better to control the atmosphere to give his body assistance to heal his injuries faster.
"Whatever, Renfield. Just turn off the lights on the way out." Tony had told him as he climbed inside.
Soli smiled as he turned the corner and stepped into Sammy's office.
Sammy was sitting with his feet propped up on his desk. Soli stood in the doorway, looking over Sam's head at the screen of read-outs.
"What's that?" He asked and stepped in.
"Plans on this Dimensional Portal. Damn. They are close to getting this to work."
Soli sat across the sofa and propped his arms on top of his head. "Really? Lewis said so much of it depended on Rose."
Sammy rose his eyebrows. "What else are we mistaken on?"
The monitor dinged that there was a video message coming in from Lewis.
Sammy pointed at Soli, "If he asks, Tony is still asleep."
"If he asks, Tony is awake, and I'll tell him why!"
Sammy sighed. "The two of you. Really?"
The monitor continued to ding.
Soli crossed his arms and sat back. "Lewis isn't the only King in this operation and I'm going to do what I need to-"
"Ahhh!" Sammy insisted and answered the call.
Lewis's face filled up the screen. "And we have another problem."
"Nope!" Sammy insisted, "I'm not taking any more problems from you today, Lewis."
"If only it was that simple. Rose has gone on a date."
Soli shook his head. "This isn't a problem. I'm sure she dated before John arrived before."
"Not this guy." Lewis said.
"Who then?" Sammy asked.
"Danny Morgan," Lewis informed them.
Sammy's feet came off the desk, "Hang on. Mum went on a date with Danny?"
"That's not all." Lewis said, "According to Sam, they are both back in her room now."
Soli grinned and teased Sammy. "I wonder what they could be doing?"
Sammy grabbed a pen off his desk and threw it at his friend. "Shut up."
Lewis pointed at Sammy. "This is your problem-"
"My problem?" Sammy asked, "Which one of us are there?"
"You're the one that decided to mess with Danny's head!"
"And I'd do the same thing again!" Sammy told him.
Lewis closed his eyes, "I'm feeling a bit that we're in over our heads here, boys. It may be the best thing to have Tony repair the Vortex Manipular, and return all of us back to the future."
"Problem is, that version of the future isn't accessible to us any longer." Sammy said.
Soli looked at him in surprise. "It's not?"
"No! By coming back, we're already beginning to change certain things. But, what has to happen, will. Haven't you seen Back to the Future?"
Soli shrugged his shoulders. "It's been a while. What happened?"
Lewis shook his head. "I wish I had your confidence, kid."
"Look. Me meeting Karen is a fixed point. I know it is. I feel it as strongly as I feel that us coming back here was a fixed point."
"How can you have a fixed point that fucks up everything else?" Soli asked.
"It's complex." Sammy told him. "I could explain it fully, but I need graphs and charts and things-"
Lewis cleared his throat. "So. We're just going to let this continue? What happens when John gets here?"
"Mum will have to make a choice. Danny or Dad."
Lewis crossed his arms, "Samuel. Are you really so angry at your father to risk your own existence?"
Sam didn't look up and smiled as he put his feet back on the top of the desk. "Oh, I'll exist. I have my own reassurances of that."
"Care to explain that?" Lewis asked.
"Nope." Samuel popped his 'p' just like his father did. "I know what I'm doing, Lewis."
"I'm not so confident. Ah, shit. I have to go." Lewis complained. "But, this conversation isn't over, Samuel!"
Samuel rolled a pencil across his desktop with a smile. "It would seem it is, Papa Lewis."
Lewis groaned and ended the call.
Soli dropped his arms from resting them on top of his head. "Well, care to enlighten me on this wisdom?"
Samuel shook his head and smiled, "No. But, it's not a big deal."
"If you fade away from existence-"
"I'm not." He laughed.
"Was that in that movie?"
Samuel stood up and ran his hands through his hair. "Yes. But, that doesn't happen in real life."
"Who time travels in real life that you know of?"
Sammy groaned, "My Dad is a Time Lord. I think I know what I'm talking about."
"My father is the leader of the Khlere and I ruled there for centuries, and I completely admit that I have no fucking clue."
Sammy shook his head. "I know what I'm doing, Soli."
"Yeah? Sure about that are you?"
"Yes, I am. Although it isn't as simple as I made it out to Lewis."
"Interesting. Explain that."
"We're at the epicenter. We wasn't from that time that you took me from-"
"But, Karen is-"
"Karen is. But, Karen is surrounded by people who are."
"True."
"There, on that island, it just works."
"So, Lewis's suggestion of us just returning to the point where we left in the future is possible?"
"Yes." Sammy insisted.
Soli crossed his arms. "Why wouldn't you tell Lewis he could just go home-?"
"Because he's happier here-"
"You could return to your wife-"
"Yes, but-"
"And child."
Sam rose his fist up to his face and met Soli's gaze. "Yeah."
"Bullshit."
"What?"
"You wouldn't be here if you could get back to them."
"I am, aren't I?"
"You say that but, you don't believe that's even true."
Sam sighed. "It's a possibility."
"But, it's so slim. That's the reason you're parked firmly."
Samuel walked out of the door. "I'm not talking about this-"
"I have questions about this-"
"Go climb into a Healing Pod, Soli."
"We need to talk about this-"
"Good night, Soli." Samuel shouted back as he walked away.
Soli crossed his arms and lay back on the sofa. "Pod. Ufff. I'm going to lay my ass right here."
