The rustling of grass was the only sound, the miko picking at a few blades by her feet.
"Did you mean it?"
"You will have to be specific."
Her eyes narrowed again. "Don't push your luck."
"I am not—" He bit his tongue as reiki crackled through the air. "Hnn."
A smile tugged at her lips, the first since they'd left camp, and the hope that had been slowly dwindling returned with a vengeance.
"At least you know when to shut up. Inuyasha never learned how to do that."
It was the perfect opportunity to make a crack at his brother's expense, but Sesshoumaru was too focused on the miko's smile.
