"You." His answer was a surprise, but the truth of it silenced them both, the only sound being her sharp intake of breath.
"Why?"
Pale eyebrows pinched together as he frowned in genuine confusion. "Were the reasons I gave not enough?"
"No—yes—ummm… Both?" She gave him a pained look. "How would this even work if we can't be honest with each other? I should've figured out that it was—"
Sesshoumaru finally approached her, kneeling as amber eyes blazed. "Miko, do not turn this into a competition of blame. Regardless of my reasons, I deceived you, and I will not allow you to find any fault in your actions."
