"Kagome!"

She let go of his hand as Shippou flew into her arms.

The kit looked her over, glancing at Sesshoumaru before whispering, "Did he say sorry?"

"Do you doubt my word?"

To his credit, Shippou didn't cower, merely crossed his arms and lifted his chin.

Kagome beamed as Sesshoumaru hid his approving smirk.

"Baka-Yasha apologizes all the time, but Kagome is still sad." He looked at his mother. "Are you still sad?"

Wrapping him in a tight hug, she rubbed their noses together. "No, he apologized properly."

Emerald eyes softened as small hands held her face, returning the embrace. "Good."
