Falling in love with Nathan Grant was one of the best things Elizabeth has ever done in her life. It was a mature love with mutual respect. Elizabeth realized she didn't need candle light dinners or hot air balloons to love Nathan. She knew Nathan loved her when he would help her with coat or when she would fall asleep in his arms and she would wake up and he would be smiling at her. Their show of passion for one another was wild where they would have to stop before anything went too far. Elizabeth realized that love doesn't have to come roaring but that it can come softly.

Elizabeth substituted for Katherine until she came back from her leave. She realized how much she loved and missed teaching. She gave it up in pursuit of her writing career. She decided that she wanted to keep teaching but for children who don't have the opportunity for an education. She decided that she would start a summer school for underprivileged children. Nathan supported the idea and was willing to help in any way.

Even though Nathan was open about his feelings for Elizabeth, she wondered if he would ever propose marriage. She had met his children and she loved them and they loved her. Jack Jr. loved Nathan like a father and after their meaningful talk with one another, they became closer. But Elizabeth couldn't get a read on Nathan. Maybe he didn't want to remarry. Elizabeth had thought about marriage with Nathan and was comfortable with idea but she wasn't sure about him.

It was around the end of November when Elizabeth was awoken to a knock on her door. She ran downstairs and opened the door. It was Nathan.

"Nathan!" Elizabeth was embarrassed because she didn't have any make-up on or her hair down. She looked like a mess.

"Sorry for the early morning wake up, but I woke up and wanted to see you right away" Nathan said with excitement.

"Please, come in" Elizabeth said

Nathan came into her house and took off his coat. He gave Elizabeth a kiss. He sat down in a chair and she sat on the chair next to him.

"You know what the first thought was when I woke up this morning?" Nathan asked.

"What?" Nathan said.

"I thought, I want to marry Elizabeth today" Nathan said

"What?! Really?!" Elizabeth said with a hesitant laugh.

"Yes. I can't wait anymore Elizabeth. I want to be with you for the rest of my life" Nathan said. He got down on one knee. "Elizabeth, I love you more than you know. I have prayed for you for so long. It took many years to finally find each other. But we did. Will you marry me?" Nathan asked.

There were tears in her eyes. He truly loved her. Even when she looked like a mess.

"Nathan, I have been running away from love because I was scared. But I'm not scared anymore. Yes, I will marry you!" Elizabeth answered.

Nathan stood up and they kissed.

"I wasn't kidding. I want to marry you today" Nathan said smiling.

"How are we going to do that silly?" Elizabeth laughed

"I know I'm not one for big gestures but I think I can do one in my life. With the help with Rosemary and a few people in town, I have planned our wedding. The church is booked at 5:00 for us. All you have to do is say yes."

Elizabeth looked at Nathan. She saw the love in his eyes and wanted to marry him as soon as possible.

"Let's get married today!" Elizabeth said

Nathan kissed Elizabeth. He went and opened the door. Rosemary, Fiona, Minnie, Florence and a few others entered the house.

"You ladies have fun. I'll see you soon my bride" Nathan said and left.

"This is so exciting!" Rosemary exclaimed.

"How long have you known about this?" Elizabeth asked

"Nathan approached me a couple weeks ago. It has been so hard to keep this secret I thought I was going to explode. Now sit down and let's do your hair and makeup" Rosemary said.

As Elizabeth was getting ready, Rosemary explained all the details. The dress that Elizabeth commented on in Union City to Rosemary is the dress she is going to wear. The reception will be held at Jack Jr.'s. Minnie made the cake.

After her hair was done, she tried on her dress. It just needed a few alterations but it fit just right. All the women squealed when they saw the finished Elizabeth. They all got into the car and headed towards the schoolhouse/church. Elizabeth was nervous with excitement. She wasn't as nervous when she married Lucas. She thought it was strange that she wasn't nervous that day. But it was different with Nathan. It was more excitement than nervousness.

They arrived at the church. There was a divider up so that Nathan wouldn't see Elizabeth. Everyone went into the church. The music started playing. Sophie went down the aisle as the flower girl. Nathan's daughter, Colleen was the first bridesmaid to go down the aisle, then Allie, and finally Rosemary. Jack Jr. walked up to his mother.

"You look beautiful" Jack Jr. said. He was wearing a blue suit.

"Thank you honey. And you look dashing"

"Thanks" Jack Jr. said and blushed.

Elizabeth looked around the schoolhouse. She remembered when she married Jack in this church. It was a wonderful day. Elizabeth walked over to the plaque that had Jack's name. She kissed her hand and put her hand on the plaque. She will always love and cherish her love with Jack but it was time to move forward.

"Ready?" Jack Jr. asked.

"Yes" Elizabeth said.

Elizabeth looped her arm around Jack's and they walked down the aisle. The church was decorated perfectly. All different color roses were spread out in different places. There were a couple candles strategically placed around the church.

Nathan was stunned when she walked down the aisle. Nathan was in his blue suit which was Elizabeth's favorite because it brought out his beautiful blue eyes. When she was finished walking down the aisle, Nathan told her how beautiful she looked. There were a couple of readings from the Bible and then they took their vows. Elizabeth was ready to love Nathan through sickness and health for as long they both shall live.

The reception was beautiful. All the speeches made Elizabeth and Nathan cry. Colleen caught the bouquet much to Nathan's annoyance. Jack Jr. caught the garter. Elizabeth decided that she would legally change her last name to Grant. She was ready to live her life in the present.

That night, Nathan and Elizabeth became one. It was beautiful and the passion that had been built up for many years was satisfied. Elizabeth was finally living her life to the fullest.
