It has been a long time since I wrote this series. I'm coming back 3 Dani's wedding is on hold for the moment until I get into the grove writing that story. Dani's wedding is before this story.
Audrey and Peyton's Townhouse, Los Angeles, California, December 11, 2039
Three weeks after finding out about their pregnancy, they are planning on announcing their pregnancy on Christmas. This year everyone is coming to California to celebrate the holiday.
Over the three weeks, Audrey went through morning sickness, headaches, and feeling tired all the time. She decided to keep the pregnancy a secret for a few weeks. She's currently 8 weeks pregnant. She will be 10 weeks pregnant when they announce their pregnancy to their family.
Today, she and her husband, Peyton are going to decorate their home for Christmas. It has been one crazy few weeks that they haven't been able to decorate their home for Christmas.
After a healthy breakfast, showers and changed, Audrey and Peyton headed to Target to get some decorations. They don't have to worry about the tree because they already have one.
"I'm excited to tell our family that we're expecting again." Audrey says, getting out of the car when they arrived at Target.
They wanted to shopping for the grandparents gifts so they can announce the pregnancy on Christmas Eve.
Peyton smiles at his wife. "I'm so excited as well, babe." He walked into the store, got a cart and headed towards the baby aisle to find a gift for their parents.
"Let's split up, it will be easier to find something for our parents." Peyton suggested.
Audrey nods her head. "Yeah, alright. I'll meet you at the front then, okay?"
"Okay, baby." He leans over and kisses her before they go their separate ways. An hour later, they met up with carts full of party supplies.
Audrey's husband starts chuckling a little. "Wow, babe. You got all of that stuff?" He asks his pregnant wife.
Audrey looks up at her husband. "Yeah, I did, honey. I figured I better get the stuff the baby will need for our bathroom." She says with a smile.
"That's true, Audrey." Peyton leans over and kisses her before they get onto the checkout line.
After checking out, they headed back to the car, put everything in the car and then headed back home.
A few hours after setting everything up, expect the Christmas tree, Audrey looked around at their townhouse. "Well, shit, I'm exhausted already. And, I want to help put the tree up." She sighs, groaning, as she lays her head back on the couch pillow.
Peyton chuckles, leaning over and presses his lips against her forehead. "Baby, you can rest. We'll decorate the tree tomorrow. You've been running around all day."
Audrey gave him a small smile as he kisses her forehead. "Thank you." She yawns before falling asleep.
16 years later, August 5, 2056
Audrey and Peyton's home, Boston, Massachusetts
Paislee Rose Patterson, Audrey and Peyton's eldest daughter is turning sixteen today. She's the eldest sister to her siblings, Mackiyla Rayne, 13, who will be fourteen on August 23rd. Her birthday is August 23, 2042.
Her brother, Quinton Peyton arrived three years after Mackiyla's birth. He was born November 24th 2045. He's ten years old.
Charles Cody arrived September 28, 2047, he was born six years and nine months after Audrey's father's death. Cody had taken his own life because he was really struggling with everything that had happened between him and Audrey and it caused him to have depression and anxiety. It was a great way to honor him. Charlie is seven years old.
Paislee's sister, Caci Maiyah made her arrival on her parent's ten year wedding anniversary and twenty year being together anniversary. She was born November 18, 2048. Caci is seven years old also.
Peyton and Audrey's youngest daughter, Aurora Bayleigh was named after their first born daughter, who tragically passed in Audrey's belly at 24 weeks pregnant. Aurora was born on the same day as Bayleigh's birthday, exactly nine years later. She was born May 10, 2050. She's six years old.
Audrey Patterson, 41, walked into her daughter's bedroom and smiles, seeing her asleep. Her rainbow baby. Today is her sweet sixteen birthday. A day, Paislee has been thinking about and planning for the past year.
She feels a hand on her shoulder, making her jump and turn around to face her husband, Peyton, 45. She placed a hand on her heart.
"Fucking Christ, Peyton. It's just you." Audrey whispers, as she tries to catch her breath.
Peyton chuckles as he hugs her. "I'm sorry for scaring you. I didn't mean to, baby girl."
Audrey nods her head, laughing a little. "It's okay. I didn't think you'd be up this freaking early." She says, wrapping her arms around his neck.
He laughs and grins as he wraps his arms around her waist. "Baby, I've been up twelve to sixteen hours when I was in medical school. I did a lot of all nighters. I'm used to being up at 6:00AM." He looks at her with concern. "Why are you up this early?"
Audrey looks into their eldest daughter's room. "I just wanted to let it sink in that we're going to have a sixteen year old."
Peyton shakes his head. "Oh, she'll be bragging about it for hours, trust me." He smiles at her as he cups her face with his hands.
"Oh, I know." Audrey smiles at her husband.
A few minutes later, Paislee woke up to her phone's alarm going off. She groans as she opens her eyes and rubs her eyes. When she's able to get her vision right, she sees her parents standing by her door with flowers.
Peyton walks into his daughter's room with his wife right behind him. "Happy birthday, Paislee."
Paislee smiles brightly as she sat up in her bed. "Thank you, dad. Thank you, mom."
Audrey leans over and kisses her daughter's forehead. "We love you, honey. Breakfast is on the table when you're ready, okay?"
Paislee nods her head as she got out of bed and walked into the bathroom to shower and then grab something to wear for her birthday.
While she was getting ready, she saw something in her closet. It was a box with the name "Bayleigh Nevaeh". Her curious mind got the best of her as she took the box out of her closet and put it on her bed.
Opening the box with a shaky breath, her eyes widened as she saw ultrasounds, pictures and the hurt in her mother's eyes.
It looked like she was crying.
Who is Bayleigh? Why is her mother crying?
Audrey calls for her daughter from the bottom of the stairs. "Paislee, are you dressed?"
"Coming!" Paislee yells, quickly she puts away the box and then rushes downstairs. "Sorry."
Audrey smiles. "It's alright, honey."
The family of eight had breakfast together and after the younger ones left to go play, Paislee looks at her parents.
She needs to know who the fuck is Bayleigh.
She clears her throat, and that makes her parents turn to look at her.
"Um, who's Bayleigh?" Paislee asks.
Audrey's eyes widened. In shock, she didn't realize she had a dish in her hand and in slow motion, it falls out of her hand and mashes onto the floor.
Fuck. That was my favorite dish.
Peyton looks up at his wife, who was white as a ghost. "Honey, are you alright?" He got up from the table and rushes over to her. He sighs when he sees the dish on the floor, in pieces. "I think it's time to tell her." He whispers.
Audrey nods, unable to say anything. Peyton helps her around the glass and they sit beside their daughter, who still is confused.
"I-I'm sorry. I shouldn't- shouldn't have asked." She stutters. With a sad sigh, Audrey shook her head. "No, baby. We- we should've told you sooner..." Audrey takes her daughter's hand into hers.
"Who is she?" Paislee asks again.
Peyton looks at his daughter and with a loud sigh, he closes his eyes before opening them again. "Well, baby girl, she's your sister."
Her eyes went wide. "My- my what? I have another sister somewhere?" She asks, looking back and forth at her mom and dad.
Audrey nods her head slowly. "Um, well, um, she's- she's not here on earth." She says with tears in her eyes.
Paislee's eyes stayed wide. "What?"
Peyton nods his head. "She was born before you. She was a big surprise for both of us, and unfortunately, when your mother was 24 weeks pregnant, we lost her." He explains to his daughter with tears threatening to fall.
Paislee felt her heart break. "She's in heaven? She was a stillbirth?" She asks with tears falling down her cheeks.
Audrey and Peyton see the hurt on her face and Peyton wraps his arms around her. "Yes. She was the best honeymoon baby ever, but she never came home to us. She brought you to us months after she went to heaven."
Paislee began sobbing into her father's chest as she heard him talk about the daughter they lost. "That's so sad, I'm so sorry. I-I had no idea." She stutters her breath.
Audrey wipes the falling tears on her cheeks. "That's why we are so protective over you. You're our rainbow baby. Definitely hand picked from your big sister." Audrey says, wrapping her arms around her daughter as well.
"I wish I knew her." Paislee sobs, soaking her father's shirt, unknowingly.
"Us too, baby girl. We miss her, but if we didn't lose her, we wouldn't have you." Peyton whispers as he rubs her back.
With a loud gasp, Audrey opened her eyes, looking around her living room and breathes heavily. It was just a dream.
I miss the baby girl I never got to know.
Tears were burning in her eyes as she started to think about her daughter in heaven.
Peyton rushes over to his wife when he hears her breathing heavily. He bends down in front of her with a concern look on his face.
"What's the matter, baby?" He asks.
Audrey breathes out, trying to calm her heart rate down. "I- I had a dream about telling this baby about Bayleigh. It was sixteen years in the future, and- and I don't want to hide Bayleigh from our other children when they're old enough to understand." Audrey says, stuttering.
Peyton nods his head as he wraps his arms around her and Audrey's arms wrap around his neck. "I think we should be honest with them about her as well." He whispers in her ear.
After calming down from her dream, Audrey and Peyton ate their dinner and then headed off to bed.
Here's chapter 2! Finally.
