"Get off me you bumbling dunderheads!" Severus ordered.
The two hurriedly got off of Severus and proceeded to help him get up off of the ground. While they were trying to clean the dirt off of Severus the three females were busy holding their stomachs from laughing so much at what they just witnessed. The first to recover from their laughing fit was Petunia.
"If it makes you feel any better boys, I heard my brother-in-law was also terrible at the kind of travel," Petunia spoke softly trying to comfort her boys.
After Severus finally got to his feet, he had just enough time to glamour Harry before someone noticed who he was. He changed the boy's eyes to blue, and changed the color of his hair and skin to match Dudley's. It lessened any change of people noticing him and making him stand out in their group as they now looked like brothers instead of just cousins.
"Before we go into the shopping district. Miss Granger, follow me. I do believe you need to make a phone call to your parents so they can meet us here," Severus stated.
"Yes, sir," Hermione said, following him to the nearest phone booth.
Thankfully her parents didn't ask too many questions since they were more ecstatic when she mentioned she was with friends. She reassured them that their mum was with them so they weren't in London all by themselves. After many trips to her school over bullying and fighting incidents they were willing to overlook how far she went, even after telling them she was taking the bus and going out. The group only had to wait about 30 minutes before Severus and Hermione came back in with a couple who looked highly confused until they got past the wards hiding the Leaky Cauldron from muggles.
"Now that we are all here with the exception of Mr. Lovegood who Miss Lovegood has informed us that he is busy with work so he won't be joining us," Severus both said aloud and signed.
'Hi, Tuney,' Emma signed as she approached her longtime best friend to hug her.
'Hi, Em,' Petunia signed back as she pulled the other woman in for a hug.
Leon Granger walked up then and pulled Petunia into a hug of his own. After they were done introducing Luna and Harry to the Adult Granger's (Severus introduced himself outside of the Leaky Cauldron), the now larger group went into the shopping district proper to begin gathering the girls' school supplies.
"First stop will be Gringotts to acquire the means to purchase your supplies," Severus explained.
"Actually, I was going to pay for their supplies, sir. Luna is going to be my guest till we go to school and I was kinda wondering if it would be ok for Hermione to do the same? Of course, her parents are allowed to stay as well if they'd like to and it's not like I don't have the money to spare or anything," Harry hedged.
Harry looked around at the group of people nervously waiting to see what their responses would be. Luna gave Harry a nod and a look that said that what was asked would happen. Leon looked at the hopeful look on Hermione's face that she was giving her parents and let out a sigh that clearly said he was fine with it. After getting his wife's attention he signed to let Emma know what was happening. While Emma could read lips, she was distracted. Instead of paying attention she was busy window shopping at the Magical Menagerie. Emma also gave her approval and even agreed to stay a night after finding out Petunia was also staying at Harry's house.
The group split up a into two groups at that point, Severus and Harry being one group to get enough galleons to purchase the girls' supplies. The other simply waited for them to return instead of starting to get the supplies just in case it took longer than anticipated. Severus and Harry returned to the rest of the group fifteen minutes later, with Harry carrying two separate pouches. One of the pouches was the color gray and the other was mocha. Harry handed each girl a pouch the gray going to Luna and the mocha going to Hermione.
"Thank you, Harry," the girls said at the same time as they went to hug him.
While they were both close Harry whispered in their ears, "The pouches will be linked to my account for you guys. All you have to do is add a drop of blood so that only you or myself can pull money from them."
The girls nodded and found subtle ways of adding a small dab of blood onto their pouches. Once the three broke apart from the hug, the group started discussing which store to start with.
"Well I think we should start with getting our books," Hermione suggested, of course.
"Well young lady I believe we should start with your wands first, simply to get that grueling process out of the way," Severus countered.
"I agree with my godfather Hermione, just trust me. I needed to get a custom wand made because none of the wands were a match for me," Harry added in.
"That sounds like a wonderful idea to get our wands first," Luna dreamily chimed in, "and if we get them first there will be more time to get more than just our school books and supplies afterwards Hermione."
The other three adults, after hearing the account from Petunia about Harry and Dudley's visit to the eccentric wandmaker, agreed. Hermione reluctantly knew she was outvoted and with a soft sigh followed the rest of the group to Ollivander's Wand Shop. It was only the promise of getting more than the subscribed textbooks that kept her from being mulish.
'I don't see why we have to start here it's not like my wand will be different,' Hermione thought to herself, 'Although what Harry said does make me worry a bit because he didn't get his Holly and Phoenix feather wand that he had and had to get a custom wand…'
When the group arrived, Severus opted to stay outside this time with Dudley and Emma, the woman had decided to do so as well. The rest entered the shop the bell on the door signaling their entrance.
"Be there in just a moment," a voice came from the back of the store.
Barely a second later Ollivander came out from the back of the store which, and to the surprise of everyone, Luna ran around the counter and gave the old man a hug.
"Hello, Nonno! I'm finally here the get the wand you made for me 3 years ago!" Luna excitedly yelled.
Everyone stood shocked at what Luna just said. Harry and Hermione both looked at each other with a look on their faces that was asking the other if they knew.
"Hello my little moon lily," Ollivander started with a smile on his face, "I'm so happy you can finally take your wand home. Now give me just one minute while I go get it."
Ollivander put Luna down and pulled a ladder from the ceiling that no one saw the trap door for. He proceeded to climb up it till he disappeared into the ceiling. A minute later he climbed back down and closed the ladder back up.
"Here we are my little moon lily," he said cheerfully as he holds out the box for Luna to take, " Cherry blossom wood, springy 11 and ½ inches, with the core being the horn of a Crumpled-Horned Snorack, and in the handle is a piece of smooth benitoite."
The wand had a spiral that traveled down from the tip of the wand to the base and was also covered in runes which Hermione instantly recognized the meaning of each of them.
"Oh, Nonno, its perfect! I love it! Thank you, thank you, thank you!"
Luna then reaches into her pouch to pull out the money for the wand and a wand holster.
"There we are my little moon lily, all set," Ollivander stated before looking around at the group before stopping to look at Hermione, "Now then young lady I do believe you are next. What is your name young lady?"
"My name is Hermione Granger, it's a pleasure to meet you sir," Hermione answered.
Hermione stepped forward and watched as a tape measure, quill, and pad flew out of the back room. The tape measure started to take her measurements while the quill and pad wrote down the results. After the tape measure finished Ollivander went to the back where he proceeded to grab six different wand boxes.
"Here we are let's try this one," he said as he handed her a bone white colored wand.
Hermione gave the wand a flick and Ollivander found himself dressed as a clown.
"Well that is certainly not the wand for you," He grumbled as he fixed his clothing.
This went on for quite a while with not a single wand working for Hermione not even the one she remembered using in her past lives.
"Well now, this is unusual," Ollivander commented, "you, young lady, are the fifth first year in two days which I will be providing a custom wand to. This is quite exciting if I may add."
Hermione looked nervous as Ollivander gathered a different assortment of boxes*. Ollviander then explained to Hermione what she needed to do. Once she understood the instructions, she held her hand out for Ollivander to get the blood he needed into a vial and then healed the pinprick on her finger. She then went over to the boxes; a light blue square box responded to her first, the hexagon box was a hot pink color and the octagon box was the color of a winter sunset that reminded her of Hebe.
