Conquering a guild base in Yggdrasil was among the challenges for guilds. The higher the guild base difficulty, the higher the benefits once conquered. The difficulty of the guild base determined the base amount of NPCs levels the guild would acquire by conquering it. That was why cities who mostly had about 700 NPCs levels weren't regarded as good enough guild bases. Guild base-type dungeons were better options.
In Yggdrasil, guild bases were prime targets for invasion by opposing guilds and caused guild wars. Ainz Ooal Gown's guild base, the Great Underground Tomb of Nazarick, had once repelled the largest army in the game's history. An alliance of eight guilds, plus other affiliated guilds, mercenary players, mercenary non-player characters (NPCs), and so on, for a total of 1,500 men who had once arrived on a punitive expedition only to be completely wiped out.
Other than that, guilds attacking each other's base was commonplace in Yggdrasil but in the new world, there was no guilds nor guild bases. They weren't to be precise. Now there was one.
Momonga had extracted information about his companions and their guild base from the player he had captured. Given that he had submitted, Momonga hadn't killed him. He just took all his items: gear, arms, potions, all he had on himself or in his inventory. Then he left him free to live in a confined house for the time-being. Level 90's undead kept a close eye on him for now.
He was now sharing what he learned with his daughter. Father and daughter were about to assault a guild base by themselves. Eryuentiu was a Floating City. As a city-type guild base, it had no POP monsters, only 30 golems that acted as city guards plus NPCs. From what he had learned, the guild only had 700 NPCs levels. The golem guards were level 30 and they had 5 level 100 and 5 level 40 NPCs. There was only two levels: the large city below and the Castle that floated above it. The 5 level 40 NPCs were in the city below while the other NPCs protected the Castle.
Momonga had experience attacking guild bases from back in the glorious days of Ainz Ooal Gown. He had sieged cities with his comrades in the past and knew that defending an entire city was complicated as certain areas would be under defended. But this time was different, he would be conquering a guild base with his daughter. He felt excitement in that fact and Ariel seemed to be the same. Well conquering a guild base would have only been possible in Yggdrasil, but now they had a rare occasion to do it in this world.
"Then, once we are there, you'll take care of the city level while I go ahead in the Castle. They have two World Items. It's nothing too dangerous for us but I want to retrieve them anyway. Are you ready to go?"
"Yes! Anytime you want."
"Alright. How does your new equipment feel?"
"It's better than the former. I'll still need some time to get used to the change in performance but it should be fine after the raid."
Momonga had given his daughter a divine tier lance and a set of armor previously owned by the player he killed. His daughter now had the highest tier of equipment available as her main gear. She could now fare better even if, to her who had transcended level 100, Yggdrasil's best equipment still was lower than her level. I should consider finding a way to create armor customized for her. He thought.
"Good. Their base is located south of the Slane Theocracy. Let's go."
Momonga was using a necklace with the [Fly] spell and was leading the way. Ariel was flapping her wings following closely by. He admired his girl once more. She is my greatest achievement. He thought proudly. His daughter could fly naturally without a spell. From what he knew, that was among humans greatest dreams. Moreover, he was glad his daughter was born here in this paradise untouched by humans and not in the polluted hellscape that was the earth of 2138.
Eventually their objective was within view. They had flown for 10 days straight without pause. Momonga as an undead couldn't eat of course. Ariel like her mother could but didn't really require it. So their progress had been fast. He didn't think all the remaining members of the Eights Kings of Avarice would be here as some were conquering other parts of the world or ruling over their own territories. But at least the two Ariel had encountered would be there and maybe some other would join. Giving them time to prepare countermeasures will be a bad strategic move.
As they had convened, Ariel landed in the city level while Momonga flew to the castle. Once in the Castle, Momonga saw a large hall and a set of double door at the end of the hall. Two NPCs stood guard before the door. They didn't move even with Momonga advancing toward them. Their AI must be basic. They can't attack if I'm not within a certain range or if I don't attack first. NPCs' Artificial Intelligence could be designed by guild members to do certain complex actions or respond to basic command but one needed a certain degree of knowledge to make those design. If not, NPCs' AI could only do basic things like respond to attacks or attack non-registered guild members who approached them within a certain range. Those NPCs seemed to be of the latter category.
Well everyone isn't into role-play or want to complicate things for a simple game. The fact that Ainz Ooal Gown's members spent a lot of time and resources working on the design of each NPC was proof that they liked role-playing. They came up with crazy back story for their NPC's settings and worked together on their AI programming. Ainz Ooal Gown could be said to be full of weirdos. A few examples included WhiteLace that spent a lot of time designing even the level 1 maids' appearance and uniforms. Then there was Tabula Smaragdina who designed Albedo. The way her settings as highly capable at managing and having a superior intellect took life in this world was proof that they had worked hard on minutes details.
Momonga chased his thoughts and refocused on the matter at hand. The two NPC guards wouldn't attack until he reached them or attacked first. When he was within a range that was advantageous for his spell attacks, he started rapid firing to take down the NPCs. It took 10 spells for both level 100 NPCs to be slain by him. He approached the door that opened for him automatically.
On the other side, another gigantic hall extended. In the middle, a red carpet led to stairs and a platform large enough for a 100 people to stand comfortably stood up the stairs. There was a few doors that led to rooms left and right along the hall. As he started advancing in the hall, NPCs showed up from behind the erected platform and closed the distance to assault him.
[Create Greater Item] Momonga created two swords to use for offense. He was battling two of the level 100 NPCs that were close quarter fighters.
Then he was assaulted by spells. [Maximize Magic: Vermillion Nova] [Twin Maximize Magic: Reality Slash] [Maximize Magic: Seven Trumpeter] etc…
Two casters stood on the platform. He recognized one as the female caster player his daughter fought a few days ago. The other was an NPC. He just tanked their attacks as they weren't doing much damage and some were nullified entirely. His magic resistance was really handy and those two caster's abilities weren't near his at all. Some of the AOE attacks were in fact doing more damage to the warriors he fought than to him.
[Twin Magic: Obsidian Sword] he created two swords that could be used for offense only and sent them at the two casters.
Where's the 5th? He wondered.
There should have been 5 more opponents in the castle. Three were NPCs'. The two he was battling at close quarter were NPCs. The two casters' in the back included the female player and the 3rd NPC of the castle. Then where was the warrior player that was with her? Planning a surprise attack then? He concluded.
He was steadily decreasing the two NPCs HP bars when the player finally showed up. He jumped from what he thought was Momonga's blind spot and stroke with his sword. Momonga parried the blow with one of his swords without looking back while holding the NPC warriors with the other. Alright. Playtime is over.
So far, he has been holding back a little waiting for the last enemy to show up. Now that he was here, there was no need anymore. He started using magic while fighting three melee type characters. He was using silent cast to pull it out as he had no time to stop for voiced casting. He was fighting 5 opponents by he didn't feel at a disadvantage.
His opponents felt pressured and were going all out. The female caster took out a thick heavy and ancient looking grimoire and was activating spells from it. Given the damage the spells are doing, this can only be one thing.
The female wasn't a good enough caster for her spells to do much damage to Momonga so far but since she cast using the book, the damage was more normal. She was mainly casting 10th tier spells and there seemed to be a cool down period of 2 to 3 minutes between each spell she cast.
Eventually, the fight that had started stabilizing between the two parties took a turn to Momonga's advantage once more: Ariel had arrived. She had certainly made short work of the opponents below and came to assist. That was part of the plan but the opposition wasn't ready for it. To Momonga, they should have considered this but the surprise on the players faces told him otherwise. Come on, that's the basic of the basics!
If an opponent had reached the 2nd level of a base, the logic dictated that there was other assailants holding the defenders below or they had already dealt with them. But in most cases, the tactic was to have advanced parties go the furthest possible into the enemy base.
Ariel flew past Momonga and went for the casters. The warrior player gave off fighting Momonga and went to assist. With one warrior out of the picture, Momonga had less trouble with the NPCs and finished them off quickly.
By that time, his daughter was still locked in combat with the warrior while using silent casting to do damage to the casters in the back. With Momonga free and up to the task too, the NPC caster quickly died. Then the female caster followed soon after. But –
Something happened. She had been dead a few moments before something glowed on her. Her body was covered by light and she was resurrected. She certainly did have a resurrection item on her. Momonga went past the warrior and engaged the newly revived female caster and
Two more individuals appeared on the platform. Momonga was already on the platform but still some distance from the caster player. The two new arrivants seemed to be warriors. One had a battle axe and the other wielded two swords. They stood between Momonga and the female caster. Still got a long way to go then.
The fight resumed almost immediately. The two warriors targeted Momonga while Ariel was dealing with the two others. Momonga felt a little bit of excitement while facing two powerful warriors. Contrary to him, they were specialized warriors. Momonga had just gained stats on par with them but lacked their many warrior classes. His fighting style was messier than theirs but he had more power behind each blow than them. Momonga was sensing his skills get better. He was making progress in this short battle than he had been since he only trained with Ariel or Albedo. Guess that's the difference between real combat and training. He just concluded.
Momonga had the luxury of thinking of trivial things during the fight but his two opponents weren't that relaxed but they didn't seem all that tense either. Momonga was dealing damage to them, a lot in fact. They wouldn't last long against him and they certainly knew that. Even so, they were not much worried. That's suspicious. There must be a reason to that.
Momonga had a feeling he was missing something important. So he took precautions. Rather than fight too opponents at once, he silently summoned a level 90 Corpse Guardian to take on the other. Now having less to worry about, he would be more alert and ready to face anything.
Eventually, he dealt the finishing blow to the player he was fighting. Ariel was done with the warrior she was fighting too. That's when it happened. The two dead players' bodies glowed for some time and they were revived. So far, it was still possible that all of them had a resurrection item on themselves. After all, Momonga had one too. But he still felt something was off.
The battle went the same way for another round. Momonga was locked in combat with one player and his summon was holding its own against another. Ariel had her hands full with two opponents. When they killed their opponents a second time, the same thing happened. They were revived almost instantly. That's when it hit him: it's not something they have equipped. It's a resurrection item and a high grade one.
In Yggdrasil, resurrection was possible but cost experience meaning the player would lose some levels. There existed spells like [Resurrection] or [Raise Dead] that could mitigate the level loss. It was also possible to bypass that level loss restriction by using high grade resurrection item but their activation took some time and it couldn't be used in rapid succession, some were one-time use even. There was only one thing that could resurrect players without bad side effect and so quickly: a world item. That's when the tide of the battle turned. Momonga had his eyes set on the female player in the back. She certainly was the one in possession of that world item and she was resurrecting her comrades when they fell.
He summoned a second level 90 opponents for the player he was fighting and focusing on casting spell targeting the caster.
[Triplet Maximize Magic: Reality Slash] [Triplet Maximize Magic: Reality Slash] [Triplet Maximize Magic: Reality Slash] [Triplet Maximize Magic: True Dark] he opened with spells to distract her and activated a skill. It was his ace move. Before, he would have hesitated to use it as it took a 100 hours before he could use it again but now was different. He would finish off his opponents and take their items before they resurrect. Now, he would even confirm if they had a resurrection item equipped in the first place.
At the sight of the Super-Tier spell runes coming to life, the 4 players did the sensible thing any Yggdrasil player would do: try to cancel the cast. While activating a Super-Tier spell, a caster was almost defenseless and if he took enough damage, the cast would fail. But the 4 players couldn't do anything against him. The two warriors had to fight Momonga's summons. The female caster was trying to target him with spells but Ariel took position in front of him and tanked the damages. It seemed she had summoned an angel to take on her opponent in her place. The spell was about ready to activate.
"Alright Ariel, get out of the area." His daughter switched position from the front and went to his back where the spell shouldn't affect her.
Momonga released his spell: The Goal of All Life Is Death, the ace move of his Eclipse class. It wasn't the first time he was using it, he had already made some tests to see how this spell and other powerful ones had changed in this world. He had a good grasp of the effects and had learned to limit and somehow control them. He was targeting the "living things in front of him". That way, Ariel who was counted as a living wouldn't be affected as she was not in front of him. His undead summons too wouldn't die as they weren't living.
The moment the players fell dead, only one item glowed. Momonga had a clear idea of the world item he was looking for. The female caster was resurrecting thanks to having it on herself. Momonga closed the distance and took the item from her while she was regaining her senses. Then his two summons attacked her at the same time. She wasn't able to brush them off as they took her at close quarter. She died quickly and this time she didn't resurrect. None of the others did too.
Momonga let a sigh of relief escape him.
"Alright. Time to explore this place." He first took the grimoire the female caster had. He cast appraisal on it and on the resurrection item.
The old looking grimoire was in fact the Nameless Spellbook: a World Item. It stored spells and cast them without any casting time required for activation. There was however a cool down period that was longer the more powerful the spell was. The thick book with many pages had spells from tier 1 to 10 and even some Super-Tier spells. Casting with the book required being a caster but didn't consume the user's mana. The spells powers also had no link to the caster's ability. Even a level 10 caster could deal incredible damage to a level 100 player with the item.
As for the other item, it was the Holy Grail, a healing type World Item. It healed without restriction. In the game, healing was reserved to certain classes like clerics, priests and the like. Also, their healing proved harmful to undead and to some evil aligned. This item however could heal even undead without problem. It also served to resurrect someone without any bad side effect. All one needed was cast resurrection on the target less than 12 seconds after its death and the effects activated. The one possessing the item was also resurrected automatically if he died.
Momonga explored the Floating Castle thoroughly along with his daughter. Eventually, he found the Guild Weapon. The Eight Kings of Avarice's guild weapon was a sword. Its shape wasn't conducive to slashing, but its edge was peerlessly sharp. It was a Japanese katana, the kind that Warrior Takemikazuchi loved crafting. But this one had more power than even Takemikazuchi Style Eight, the best weapon he ever crafted.
As the symbol of an entire guild, a guild weapon was something precious. It was a double edged sword. On the one hand, it could be allotted more data crystals than divine tier items and be on par with World Items. On the other hand, its destruction meant the destruction of the guild: the guild base and its NPCs would be destroyed. Even if Momonga's guild wasn't in this world yet, he wasn't carrying his guild weapon with him or use it to fight despite the weapon's immense powers for that reason. Back in Yggdrasil, despite the weapon being designed for him, Momonga had never actually wielded it. Only on a whim on the last day did he take it with him and it was transported here.
There was a third use for guild weapons too. By conquering an enemy guild base and seizing their guild weapon, one acquired ownership of the guild base: NPCs and all.
"Ariel, if you'll do me the honor" said Momonga in an uncharacteristic voice while gesturing toward the katana.
It took Ariel some time to process what he had just said and her eyes widened in surprise at what he meant.
"Are you sure? Shouldn't you do it?"
"No. it's better if it's you. Besides, see this guild base as your base of operation while you are outside Arcadia. What do you think?"
"Hm. Yes. You are right. Of course, it make sense. You wouldn't use it much yourself as you will return to mother's side in Arcadia. Alright, I accept."
"Great. Now claim ownership of your new base my dear daughter."
Ariel took the katana in her hands. It glowed some time before returning to normal. In Yggdrasil, a notification would appear, a scroll would descended from the sky, there was a lot of animations for these events. In this world it was different.
"So what happened?"
"I gained ownership of the place but I will need some money to resurrect the dead NPCs. More than the guild used to have in fact. Seems they were already nearing bankruptcy and the damage from our attack sucked them dry."
"Oh! I did activate a few traps here but not that much. I suppose the upkeep fees of their guild was higher than the city collectable income. Being in this world, they could no longer collect that much gold to maintain their guild base. Don't worry about it. I will supply the minimum for upkeep. As for NPCs, you can use summons. Mine or yours."
After his experience with the Eight Kings of Avarice and living for that long in the New World, Momonga had come to understand that beings from Yggdrasil appeared in this world following certain patterns.
First, it happened every 100 years. He appeared 100 years priors to the players that founded the Slane Theocracy neighboring Arcadia. Then those Six Players were followed by the Eight Kings of Avarice. This meant in a few years from now, beings from Yggdrasil will appear somewhere in the New World.
In addition, those who appeared had treasures from Yggdrasil with them. He had appeared with the Throne of Kings, a World Item. He himself had a World Item on his person and Albedo had one too. The Staff of Ainz Ooal Gown was also with him. He wasn't sure what the Six Players from the Theocracy carried but they might have had a World Item or two with them. The Eight Kings of Avarice had two World Items and a Guild Weapon something of relatively close value to World Items.
Plus, structures from Yggdrasil could be transported too like the Guild Base of the Eight Kings of Avarice.
Finally, those beings had an impact on the New World. Because they controlled great powers, they could greatly affect the world be it in a good or a bad way. He had founded a utopia for all races to live peacefully. The Six had created a human only nation while the Eight sought to conquer the whole world.
As he was now part of this world and had his family and people to protect, Momonga decided to study the matter. He wanted to find a way to either stop the transportation of beings from Yggdrasil here or to predict when and where they would appear. This way, if he could not stop the phenomenon, he could limit the impact of those beings on the New World. The Eight Kings of Avarice had killed a fellow player, betrayed each other and greatly decreased the populations of dragons, giants and of many subhuman races. The only people who had benefitted their actions were the weak races like humans. On the other end, the actions of the Eight Players had further deepened the hatred of Dragon Lords toward players.
While her father was busy trying to find a measure to limit the impact of future players appearing in the world, Ariel was busy helping the survivors of the Eight Kings of Avarice. She enlisted the help of various dragon lords, some she had saved personally or with her father and others who had joined to help. They assembled most of the surviving non-humans races and a country was soon created.
It was a country with few humans. Only a handful agreed to live with non-humans neighbors. The country rulers were selected among 5 of the most ancient dragons. They were:
The Platinum Dragon Lord, Zeyndelux Vaishion, son of the Dragon Emperor. He was among those who willingly joined despite not being among those Ariel or her father saved. He knew Ariel's father slew the Dragon Emperor but didn't seem to hold a grudge against her personally. He found her action meaningful and helped in the creation of the country.
The Blue Sky Dragon Lord, Surveria Myronsilk saved by her father from one of the Eight Kings of Avarice.
The Diamond Dragon Lord, Omnaadscence Iculvuls one of the three dragon Ariel saved in her first battle against two of the Eight Kings of Avarice.
The Obsidian Dragon, Gessenvult Yukleelilith one of the three dragons Ariel saved in her first battle against two of the Eight Kings of Avarice.
The Wyrm Dragon, Zalazilkalia Nahaeunt one of the three dragons Ariel saved in her first battle against two of the Eight Kings of Avarice.
Ariel had been offered to be part of the rulers of the country they named Argland but she declined. She still wanted to wander the world at her leisure. She didn't want to stay tied to a place yet. She had just been doing exploration for less than a 100 years. She still had places she wanted to thoroughly explore like the huge underground cavern that was located in the Tove Woodlands, or the Great Chasm inside the Azerlisia Mountains.
She also occasionally received missions from her father. After defeating six of the Eigh Kings of Avararice, she was sent to stop the two remaining from doing any further conquest. They of course refused and she disposed of them. She also had to deal with a new wave of beings from Yggdrasil.
One day, she received one such a mission. Her father wanted her to deal with a lone player that had appeared in the Tove Woodlands. She went there in a hurry. By the time, she reached the player, he had entered the cavern that extended beneath the woodlands. She silently followed him to see his actions and decide how to deal with him. If he was reasonable and good natured, she would help him find a place to settle and live a peaceful life like other players her father had made her help. If he was evil, then she will dispose of him. She had not yet done such a thing since fighting the Eight Kings of Avarice but she would if she had to.
She followed the player for days observing his actions from afar. He seemed to be exploring the cavern slaying monsters he encountered. They were mindless monsters so she didn't frame him as evil for that. That was until the player confronted a dragon. Given its size, she was sure it was one of the long lived dragons. One of the very few remaining Dragon Lords. This one had a skin so dark he almost blended with the obscurity of the cavern.
While observing the player's actions, Ariel exanimated her equipment. She now had a divine tier lance and a divine tier body armor. She also made sure she had her mother's world item equipped in case the dragon used an AOE wild magic spell.
"Once I have tamed you, I'll ride you and go conquer the world. How I wish I could show off to my friends…" the human was rambling about taking the dragon outside and riding it to conquer the world.
At this point she knew he was similar to the Eight Kings of Avarice but she didn't say anything just observed. The dragon saw her but as she made no movement, he refocused on the human and attacked him while he was lost in his day dreaming. The dragon's huge jaw opened and dark flames spurred out assaulting the human. He didn't seem to have taken any measure to defend himself as he was consumed by the flames. The corpse that remained after the breathe attack was over didn't so much as twist. Whoa! He's strong or was that human just stupid?
Ariel knew that a dragon's breathe attack was powerful. It was all the more so for Dragon Lords. But one could protect himself against it without trouble. The attack was elemental in nature so one either had to have resistance against that element whether in equipment or classes or take defensive actions. The player should have cast a physical defensive barrier if he was a caster. Her father would have used [Wall of Skeleton]. If he was a warrior, he should have dodged or activated defensive skills if he was a tank. For instance, her mother would use defensive skills from her Guardian or Blackguard classes. Ariel herself would have dodged as the dragon's dark breathe seemed to be of the dark element she was weak against. From what she had judged, the levels of the dragon and the human weren't so far apart. The human was even a few levels higher than the dragon.
The human being dead, the dragon focused on Ariel. Alright, I should at least inspect the corpse for dangerous items! That was among the things she had to do. Ensure that powerful items like World Items didn't fall in the wrong hands.
"Hello to you Dragon Lord. My name is Ariel, I come from the Arcadia Empire."
"Arcadia Empire? Never heard of it. What are you? Are you a being that hail from the world of those insects called players?"
"No no. I'm not. I was born in this world. The Empire I mentioned is south of here."
"Hm. Is that the truth? Why are you here precisely when that player showed up? That's suspicious."
"I was tailing that human to ensure he didn't bring chaos to this world."
"Oh! Then you are linked to him. Besides, why are you hiding your aura? An ordinary being wouldn't show before a mighty Dragon Lord and hold a conversation like you are without a degree of power. Right? Why are you hiding yours?"
"Alright. Just a moment." She said before removing her ring. She did so as a sign of goodwill but it had the reverse effects. "I have removed… whoa!" she dodged the dragon's breathe attack that was coming her way. The dragon moved his jaw maintaining his breath targeting her as she moved around the place.
"Hey! Stop it!" "Hey! I didn't come to harm you" she made attempts to reason the dragon but he didn't stop his attack. Once his breath attack seemed over he used his tail and huge body to attack her. I only wanted to retrieve his items and leave. She thought to herself before she retaliated.
She went on the offensive. She thrust her lance against the dragon's hard scale repeatedly. She was targeting a single point, the place where the dragon scales were less tough: his neck. Each time the dragon was able to push her back, she cast [Purifying Lance] and threw it at the dark dragon. Given the dragon's breath element, she was sure holy element was among his weak points and she was right. Her spell seemed to make even more damage that her lance did. Before she could run her lance through the dragon, one of her [Purifying Lance] killed him.
"Sorry." She said to the dead dragon's corpse. She hadn't intended to kill the dragon just retrieve the player's corpse and equipment. But since the moment she let her aura out, all hope for understanding and negotiation seemed impossible. She didn't really understand why. Maybe he thought she was a player like that human? That would explain why he didn't bother confirming. If he had knowledge of what the Eight Kings of Avarice did to dragonkin, he would have a deep hatred for them. Her aura of power certainly tipped in favor of her being a player. Next time, I'll contact the player right away rather than observe until he took any kind of action. That would avoid collateral damages.
"Alright. Now this." She turned to examine the human's corpse. His equipment seemed to be that of a ranger. All of his gear favored moving without being spotted and agility. He really was an idiot. This was further proof that he shouldn't have talked big before engaging the dragon. He should have used his ranger abilities to take the dragon by surprise. Maybe he had tamer skills and was confident he could tame the dragon.
Well, all that was conjecture on her part she could no longer confirm it. She looked at the corpse and started retrieved the equipment the player had. Most of his equipment were Legendary with a few divine but one item stood out particularly. It was a folded scroll with golden handles and a deep green colored exterior. She knew what it was without appraising it. Her father had imparted her knowledge of various items that originated from Yggdrasil. Among them, she vividly remembered the appearance of the World Items her father knew of. That scroll was one of them. Just to confirm, she cast [Appraise Any Magic Item]
The item name and other information was revealed to her.
"So this really is it. Wu Xing Controlling Cycle." She murmured the item's name.
From what she knew, it was a World Item but even among the 200 World Items, it was in a category of its own: The Twenty. This item was among a group of items so powerful, their use was one-time but that and the items effects seemed to have changed from what her father knew.
"Alright. Time to get back. I need to report to him."
[Message] she cast and was connected to her father shortly after.
"That's great." He exclaimed after she gave her report.
He really never changes. She thought amused. Since she knew her father, he had a collector spirit. It had somehow lessened but he still showed enthusiasm at learning of rarities be it an item, a plant or a species. She discussed her new discoveries with him each time she went back. Even though her father kept an eye on her with the Mirror of Remote Viewing, he was still genuinely excited to learn of things he didn't know. And since he started taking part in this world history again, he resumed collecting rarities.
