Pietro's POV

I turned my head towards Wanda, trying to hide Bucky from her eyes. "What are you doing?!" She demanded angrily. "...Nothing," I said nervously. "Leave me alone." Bucky groaned in pain and I turned back to him."You hurt him, Pietro! You can't do that!"She yelled in distress. "He's one if them! He works with them, and I refuse to let you coddle him any further!" I snapped angrily.

"He's trying to escape too pietro! Now put him down he's obviously hurt." She told me."HE IS ONE OF THEM Wanda! He doesn't care about us! Why should we care about him?!" I demanded. "He's been hurt by them to! Now leave him alone!" Wanda pleaded."Seriously Wanda I'm fine." Bucky said, then he gave a small cry of pain.

"No you're not! Where does it hurt?" Wanda asked in distress."I told you it doesn't." Bucky said before he gave a small screech of pain. "STOP IT PIETRO!" She screamed at me in worry. "here! Take the pest." I snarled as I thrust him into her hands. "AHHHH!" Screeched Bucky, tears sprang into his eyes."Pietro stop!" Wanda half-sobbed. "you're hurting him! He didn't do anything wrong!"

I rolled my eyes, then a guard came in laughing. "Well done Pietro." He told me as he saw Bucky. "This was the perfect punishment for the soldier." He added, I narrowed my eyes. "What do you mean?" I demanded suspiciously. "Oh," the guard answered. "He failed one of his missions and ran off, we only punished him for running off. We were going to have him train you, but you took out the growth serum. So we decided to punish him and reward you by giving him to you as a pet." He then left, laughing at Bucky's pain.My eyes widened in horror, I had hurt an innocent person.

Bucky's POV

I was nearly delirious from the pain. Wanda glared at her brother before taking the pillow from her bed and placing it on the counter. She set me on it gently as she could and tried to bandage me. "I'm so sorry I let this happen!" She sobbed. "Wanda," said Pietro. "I'm so sorry! I didn't know!" She turned to him fiercely. "Don't apologize to me! Apologize to him. And DON'T even THINK about getting near him!"

I groaned in pain and Wanda turned back to me. "Do you need anything?" She asked. "Let me get you some food and water." I shook my head unhappily. "No?" She asked. "I won't be able to stomach it." I whispered in pain. "At least take some water." She told me as she left. She returned a few seconds later with a small water dropper.

"Open your mouth Bucky." She said as she held it over me, I obeyed at once and leaned back as the water trickled down my throat. She looked at me sadly and stroked my hair with her finger. "Goodnight, Bucky." She told me sadly that night.

The pain kept me awake all night, I couldn't turn on my side or stomach. When morning came Wanda fed me herself, which was embarrassing. The guards came in but only took Wanda, that left me alone... with Pietro. He and I stared at each other for a long while. 'I should let him know I'm not angry.' I thought sadly. 'I can't really blame him, I probably would have done the same thing.'

I rolled onto my knees and crawled over to him, I had only made it about two inches off the pillow before falling into a pained heap. "No," Pietro told me. "Stay on the pillow." He picked me up as gently as he could but all my brain understood was that the man who hurt me was holding me. I screeched in fear and pain from being moved. "Pietro!" Came Wanda's voice. "I swear, I'm not going to hurt you." Pietro whispered to me.

I then felt myself being laid on the pillow and covered with my blanket. Suddenly I heard yelling lots of it, it quickly got louder.I heard yelling from outside. Always yelling, always screaming, always loud. Then it stopped, and I knew I was in trouble. Everything hurt so much, and I was so tired; I didn't care anymore, if they killed me. I might have welcomed it. The door opened and I hear Wanda gasp. Poor kid, she was too young for this. Both of them. "GO AWAY!" she screamed , and I almost turned around to see, but no. I'd let them do whatever to me. I just didn't care.

Soft footfalls stopped short behind me, and then I felt the calm scent of lavender wash over me. I half-shut my eyes, exhaustion flooding me."Oh, Bucky." I heard from behind me. "I'm picking you up now, ok bud?"'Steve!' I thought as strong hands scooped me up and pulled me close, the sound of his beating heart almost drowned out my pain. With no further warning, my eyes slipped shut, and a warm feeling blossomed in my chest, spreading through me until I was calm. 'This is what peace feels like.' I thought to myself. 'This is what it is to feel safe.'

Steve's POV

As I burst open the door to the prisoners the first thing that caught my attention was Bucky lying still on a pillow. "Go away!" A girl screamed in fear at me. A boy about her age stepped in front of her to protect her. I gently scooped Bucky up and turned to them. "Leave is alone!" The girl said in fear, the boy's eyes focused on Bucky. "Wanda," He said in shock. "Look at Bucky! He's not scared." Bucky stirred in my hands and muttered sleepily. "Wanda, it's alright now. Steve's a good person."

The girl, Wanda, eyed me suspiciously, before her brother led her forward. "I'm Steve Rogers." I told them. "Let's get all of you out of here." I led them out of the base to the team. Clint and Natasha ran over to me. "Is he alright?" Asked Clint in worry. "He's hurt bad." I told him holding Bucky out For him to examine. Clint's expression grew dark. "Those people are messed up." He growled, then Tony walked over.

"Hey Clint, whats so interesting-" he stopped talking when he saw Bucky. "Guys... that's a tiny person." He said in shock. "It's Bucky." I told him. "From those stories?! I thought he was made up!" Tony exclaimed. "He's real Tony," said Clint in annoyance. "And if you don't shut up you'll wake him up!" "I don't suppose we can blame you Tony," I said softly. "Most stories about borrowers are told as if they're made up."

He stared in awe at Bucky, as if he had a million questions... he probably did. "Let's get all of these guys back home." Said Natasha as she stared sadly at Bucky. 'Hang on Bucky,' I thought. 'We'll have you home and fixed up in no time.'
