Amy met Penny in the hallway between their apartments on a Saturday afternoon, about a month after Amy learned she was pregnant. "Did you tell Sheldon what we're doing today?"

"Yeah," she replied while pressing the button for the elevator. "He reminded me that we aren't telling anyone yet and I'm not allowed to buy anything."

Penny chuckled. "When are you going to start telling people? This has to be the longest I've ever kept something to myself. Although the other day I almost slipped up. Leonard and I were talking about our baby and I said I can't wait for the babies to be able to play together. He panicked when I said babies and thought he had missed the doctor saying we were having twins. I told him I meant I couldn't wait for our baby to be able to play with Halley and Michael."

"Sheldon is insistent that we wait until the end of my first trimester. Just a few more weeks, then we'll tell everyone," explained the brunette as the women stepped off the elevator. "Do you mind driving? I just realized I forgot my car keys upstairs. I'm grateful the elevator works; I just don't feel like going back up."

"Sure. You wanna grab a late lunch first? I haven't eaten much all day," suggested Penny.

The women enjoyed lunch before making their way to the baby store, which was their original plan for the afternoon. Penny kept picking up tiny dresses and putting them back. "Why don't you get a few? I know we're supposed to only adding stuff to your registry, but it won't hurt to get a few things if you really like them?" suggested Amy.

"The little girl clothes are so cute, but did you happen to notice that I didn't scan any of them for the registry?"

Amy paused for a moment to scroll through the list of items that had been added to the registry and noticed a common theme. "You're having a boy!" she squealed while hugging her best friend. "What's with the face? Are you not happy about this?"

"I am. Girls terrify me," admitted Penny. "I can only imagine ending up with a girl who's exactly like me, and I know what my teenage years were like for my parents. I'm excited about having a boy, but Leonard is already talking about teaching him about Star Wars, and Star Trek, and comic books. What if this kid hates all that stuff and is only interested in sports? I have no problem teaching him about sports, but Leonard is so looking forward to being a dad. If he doesn't like the stuff Leonard does, it will devastate him, feeling like he isn't able to relate to his son."

Amy pointed at a few things, "Be sure to add these. I loved mine when Max was a baby. You can guarantee I'll be getting this again. Leonard will love your son, no matter what he's interested in."

The women continued to make their way through the baby store, scanning items to add to Penny's baby registry, while Amy was amazed at some of the new things that weren't available when she'd been doing this for Max twelve years earlier. "Thanks again for agreeing to do this with me, but I feel like we've spent all day talking about me. How's everything going with you?"

"Pretty well. My morning sickness hasn't been too bad, only a day or two a week. That's how it was when I was pregnant with Max, though, so I'm not surprised. Can I ask you something about Leonard?" Penny nodded in response to Amy's question. "When we went to my first doctor's appointment, the doctor mentioned there's a higher risk for complications since I'm forty and those risks go up as you get older. Sheldon has been fixated on those, constantly worried about me. I'll catch him watching me when I'm doing something like reading or making dinner. The doctor noticed how nervous he was and suggested he talk to a friend who has been through this recently."

Penny smirked, knowing where Amy was going with this. "And you want him to talk to Leonard, but he's refusing because you guys aren't telling people yet and Leonard doesn't know?"

"Was Leonard this way when you first found out you were pregnant? Sheldon is so afraid something is going to happen and he thinks he'll be able to prevent it if he's watching me like a hawk."

"Leonard has been way more excited about me being pregnant since the day I took that test. He tried obsessing over every little thing. All I had to do was yell at him one time to get him to back off. Have you tried yelling at Sheldon?" Penny laughed at the thought of Amy yelling at the physicist.

Laughing along with her friend, Amy answered, "I couldn't yell at him to leave me alone. As annoying as it is at times, it has been nice having someone there this time. Don't get me wrong, deciding to do it on my own with Max was the right decision for me at the time, but I've loved having Sheldon's support this time. Max has been helpful, too; once he got over the initial weirdness of us telling him, he's been really sweet, asking how I'm feeling or if I need a snack or something to drink."

"What do you say we head home? We got a pretty good start on my registry," commented Penny as the pair headed towards the front of the store. "Since you're making me not say anything about you being pregnant, you have to promise to not tell anyone you know I'm having a boy." Amy agreed with a nod of her head.

"Hello," Sheldon greeted his wife when she returned to the apartment late that afternoon. "How was the baby store?"

"It's amazing how much more stuff there is now than when Max was a baby," she answered while looking around the apartment. "Speaking of Max, where is he?"

"He asked if he could go to a movie with Noah and his dad. They picked him up about half an hour ago. They're getting dinner after the movie, so we probably won't see him until sometime after seven," shared Sheldon. "I was thinking about ordering takeout instead of cooking since it's just us tonight." Amy sat on the couch next to him and relaxed into it while propping her feet on the coffee table. "Is everything okay?"

"Yes," Amy knew this was the perfect time to talk to him. "I'm just a little tired. Takeout sounds perfect for dinner. Since you don't want to ask Leonard if he's worried about Penny having complications the way you're worried about me, I asked her how he's been handling everything. Penny said he was the same way at first, but it got to the point that she couldn't handle it anymore and she yelled at him about it."

Sheldon glanced at Amy. "Why are you telling me this? I still don't like that Penny knows you're pregnant when we aren't telling people."

Sighing, Amy paused before answering. "I'm telling you this because I don't want to yell at you. I love that I have your support and that I'm not going through this alone again, but I'm going to go crazy if you don't relax. We still have seven months until this baby gets here. That's a long time for you to be obsessing over everything I do. I promise I will tell you if you have any reason to be worried."

"I'll try, but only because I know it's stressing you out and that can raise your blood pressure, which isn't good for you or the baby."
