Chapter 39

"SUIRYU DARLING!"

He smirked to the upbeat tone of D'angelo. "Hey, I'm sorry for not answering my calls, family emergency and all…"

"Think nothing of it hon, I understand. So, is everything better now?"

Suiryu ho hummed the notion. "Well… it's livable" he said offhandedly. "D'angelo… again, sorry about the lack of response. So to make it up, what needs to be done. I'll stay until it's completed."

This took him aback, but D'angelo smirked. "We only have one job today, nothing more. But they did ask for you by name."

He nodded in agreement.

For the rest of the day he was D'angelo's. Yet as they finished up, he found Leo Adonis lingering, and smiling the biggest shit eating grin he had ever seen. "What's with you?"

Adonis strolled into the room, he peered about at first to make sure no one else was listening. It was only them in the studio now. He leaned in and whispered. "Get ready to lose your precious baby dragon…" he said mockingly. "It won't be long until he is in MY hands!"

Suiryu paused for a moment. "You think that? You do realize I won't let you have him, not without a fight."

"Oh please, do fight me on this, I anticipate it! Besides, you need to pay for traumatizing the elders as well as corrupting the minds of potential students! We had to expel one, because of you!"

He could only assume it was that kid named Bo, the one who didn't like how things were done. But there was nothing Suiryu could do for the kid now. "Your loss," he said. "I saw one with great potential to become a divine sorcerer. Perhaps even with the power to surpass the likes of all of you," he said offhandedly. "But, what do I know? I'm just a curse to you aren't I? Literally and figuratively…" he said and grinned to it. "Either way, I don't give a shit as to what you have in mind… I'll stop you." He said bluntly.

Adonis smirked. "We'll see…"

He left when D'angelo returned, the two locked eyes oddly enough but Adonis left without another word. "Why the hell is he still working here?" Suiryu asked.

D'angelo sighed. "I wish I knew hon, I really did. I don't like working with him, he is not… camera worthy to me. YOU on the other hand…" he said and grinned.

Suiryu nodded but then paused. "I got to ask you something… the last photo session with Nobara and I, we had…" suddenly D'angelo's phone went off.

"Oh! Sorry darling, I have to take this. Can we talk another time?"

Suiryu paused but nodded as D'angelo answered his phone and left the room. Strange, he could sense he was purposely trying to avoid answer the question before it was even asked!

But it was probably a mistake or oversight on his part… then again… D'angelo doesn't miss a single detail.

Suiryu changed back to his street clothing, when his phone went off. "Yo" he simply said.

"Yuuji's is back," said Choso.

"Of course he is, I dropped him off to you this morning after he woke up," Suiryu said in a confused tone.

"No… Yuuji… is back…"

He froze.

"Wait… his mind? Yuuji has returned to his normal mindset?! HOW!" he shouted.

"I don't quite know myself, and I tested him. He doesn't remember what happened to him, how he became a little dragon, but he knows that he was cultivating to become one. He still isn't certain as to how it all happened, but… Suiryu… it's our brother"

He swore Choso was starting to tear up by the end of the conversation. Suiryu suddenly felt the same way as the tears flowed once more. "Goddamn it why is this happening now?" he muttered.

"Suiryu?"

"It's nothing, Choso, thanks for telling me. I'll be there soon to see everyone" With that he hung up. Yet the tears wouldn't stop! "What is happening now? This doesn't feel painful like before, but… relief… happiness… do humans cry when they are happy?" he muttered to himself.

Either way, he cleaned himself up and went back to the school. He couldn't wait to speak with Yuuji again…

Adonis was grinning from ear to ear. He knows he got under Suiryu's skin for the moment, but it was just the start of it all. Recently, they have found some old records from ancient past. There was little details written, but something interesting. 'To challenge a dragon's guardian' Instantly, he became obsessed with it and learned of the loop hole to obtaining the baby dragon.

One not even a Kitsune spirit would refute.

But for the moment, they have to get a powerful summons, and right now, that's where he is going.

There are many powerful creatures of the divine that one could try and make a contract with. This one in particular is the closest thing to a dragon than an actual dragon itself.

A Wyvern.

They have been stalking one for months now, it would take over 60 divine users to subdue it by force, then, they have to bring it to their challenge. The wyvern is their key to victory, as well, the nail in the coffin of that Suiryu asshole.

Suddenly, Adonis's phone went off. "Talk to me,"

"We have it, we just need you to do the finishing bond."

He merely nodded. "I'll be there soon." The coordinates were on his phone, he hopped into a car and sped to the location. Of course, creatures like these tend to hide themselves away from human settlements unless they take a particular interest in one.

By the time he arrived, the strongest divine legion were already there. But it appears the elders had stepped up their numbers. The beast fought back with great power, so much so that Adonis was grinning from ear to ear. But now, they have to capture it and force a contract upon the beast.

"Adonis! Adonis is here!" one sorcerer shouted with glee, only to the thrown back and away from the battle.

Adonis rolled his eyes, one lash of it's tail took half the guy's head off. He should know better than to lose focus. But now, it was up to him. He approached and started his incantation. "Chain of soul, bounded to me, serve as my tool. Now… TO ME!" he shouted.

A gold chain began to come from his chest and then when he had enough. Adonis made his move. Using what strength he has from his familiars as well as a blessing from a griffin, he ran straight for the wyvern. It roared aloud and tried to snap at him, but he jumped and avoided the strike! While airborne, Adonis took his chain and threw it around the mouth of the beast. It was a prefect hit.

From there it was merely a matter of time of wearing it down. Adonis landed on the beast's head as he rode off the attempts to throw him off. It took three hours for it to lose strength, then… it collapsed to the earth, defeated!

The legions cheered aloud. Seven men were killed in this, but the sacrifice was well worth it. "Come, let's go get ourselves a dragon!" he called.
