Chapter 2

"Nii-san can you please help me with my kunai-throwing?" I asked with a hopeful smile on my face.

"I'm busy. Learn it from Father." He said while putting on his shinobi sandals, ignoring me walking around in small circles behind him in the hallway.

"You're always busy!" I whined.

'I can't really blame you, with all the missions you have.'

He turned around to look at me. "I really am busy today."

I continued my pacing. "Today this, today that... When will tomorrow ever come?" I asked while looking up at the ceiling.

'Tomorrow comes tomorrow?'

"I'm sorry, Satomi-chan." He said as he hit my forehead with his index and middle finger. I pouted while holding my forehead.

"The next time Kaa-chan and Tou-chan go somewhere, I may be able to take some time off."

I perked up immediately. "Really?! When is that?!"

"Ask Tou-chan. See you." He said as he walked out the door.

Later that evening

Tou-chan was smiling, everyone was happy at dinner, Nii-san was out training though. I didn't complain about missing him though.

"What do you call this fish," Tou-chan asked, "it's really good."

"Really? It was on sale today!"

"Things in season are always cheap and delicious." I said.

"Is that right, Satomi-chan?" Tou-chan chuckled. I shyly grinned.

"Seconds please, Kaa-chan!" I asked as I held out my empty bowl of rice.

"Of course."

"Nii-san said you're going somewhere," I mentioned quietly, "when is it?"

"Yeah... We're going to visit your Kaa-chan's family." Tou-chan responded.

"Oh..."

"So he told you, did he? I thought we'd go on my next day off. Would you like to come?" He smiled.

"I'm going to have Nii-san teach me all sorts of stuff." I declared, happy to spend time with Nii-san.

"He said he'll teach you?" Tou-chan asked with shock clearly on his face. He wasn't expecting me to say that.

"Yeah! He promised!" I grinned excitedly.

"Itachi did? That's unusual. Here's your rice!" Kaa-chan said as she handed me my bowl back.

"Arigato, Kaa-chan!"

"I can help you practice kunai-throwing too, you know." She commented, smiling while wiping off the rice stuck to my cheek with a napkin.

"It's training, not practice." I corrected as I starting eating my rice again.

"Oh, can I trouble you for some tea?"

"Sure!"

"Make it hot, too."

"All right!"

The next day

I threw the kunai, hitting the spot right next to the bullseye. Ita-nii demonstrated again, hitting the bullseye perfectly, not wasting any movement.

'This is what an elite shinobi looks like, can I really be like that?' I wondered as I looked up him in pure awe, proud to be his little sister.

"Now you try it, just like that." Nii-san instructed with a small smile on his face.

I threw another kunai, this time it landed a little closer to the bullseye.

'Not good enough.'

"You've gotten better, Satomi-chan."

"I can throw better than Kaa-chan now." I bragged, trying to impress him.

'Just barely.'

"All right, then how about this?" Itachi took four kunai in each hand throwing them so they landed in a neat column on both sides of the target. Then he took two more and threw them so one was pinned the other to the bullseye by the hole in the top of the handle.

I looked up at him in amazement. "You're terrific, Nii-san! How did you do that?"

"You'll start throwing like that very soon. You're a lot like me." He told me with a warm smile.

I blushed under his praise.

'Yeah, right. But I have to try if you believe in me.'

In the evening

"Nii-san, can you teach me again sometime, like today?" I asked as I leaned onto his side, watching the sunset. It was a beautiful mix of orange, magenta, and a purplish blue.

"Sure, when I have the time." He replied, wrapping his arm around me.

"Promise?"

"Yeah."

We sat in silence for a few more minutes.

"Nii-san, do you fight for the sake of the clan?" I asked, breaking the silence.

'Or do you really fight for the village? Would you still kill the clan if it was an order?'

"I wonder... I'm not sure about that either just yet."

"Growl."

I blushed while he quietly laughed at me. How embarrassing!

"All right! I'm going to make us a feast tonight!"

A few hours later

True to his words, he did make a feast. On the table there was plates of fish, lobster, crab, shrimp, fried rice, two fried squids, a whole entire turkey, and lots of different kinds of cooked vegetables. The aroma was making my mouth water.

"Hot!" He said as he brought a large bowl of some kind of soup to the table.

"You made all of this?"

"Yeah. I might have gone a little overboard." He said, obviously proud of the feast he made.

"A little, huh?" I smiled.

Nighttime

"I'm stuffed!" I said as I patted my stomach. I think that was the best food I've ever eaten! No, I don't think, I know it!

Nii-san dropped his futon next to me. "Hey Satomi-chan, wanna sleep outside tonight?"

"Are you sure it's okay to do that?" I asked.

He nodded. I ran back to my room to grab my futon from my closet. "Hey, don't rush!" Was what I heard before I tripped over my feet. Stupid slow reflexes! I got up and grabbed my futon and brought it outside.

"Aren't you cold?"

"Nope." I answered.

It was cloudy outside, but we could still see the full moon. The crickets were hiding in the grass, singing a nighttime lullaby.

"I want to become a skilled shinobi like you!" I declared. A girl could dream, I guess.

"What? Like me? You will surpass me."

Yeah, in my wildest dreams.

"That's impossible!" I blurted out, being one-hundred percent honest. "I mean, you're gifted. Everyone says so."

Nii-san laughed. "You're a lot like me. You've got the potential."

"Okay! I'll surpass you." 'If it will make you proud.' Was the last thing I said before I fell asleep.

In the morning

"Hey, Satomi-chan! What are you doing out here?" Tou-chan asked.

I sat up and rubbed the sleep out of my eyes. "Nii-san said we could sleep outside." I replied.

"Itachi did?" Kaa-chan asked, surprised. Then she started laughing at my confused expression when I saw that Nii-san was gone. The best times in life go by fast, I guess.

"Where's Nii-san?"

"It seems he's left already. I just don't know what he's thinking." Tou-chan answered.

Six years old

"Uchiha Satomi, Uzumaki Naruto, and lastly Yamanaka Ino."

Naruto grinned at me. "We get to be in the same class, dattebayo!"

After I met Naruto for the first time we met at the park and then we went over to each others houses. We quickly became best friends. We both were interested in pranks, and ramen. I personally liked tomatoes, onigiri, and dango better, but the ramen we got at Ichiraku's was the food of the gods!

I nodded with a small smile before I ran back to Nii-san to give him a hug before we went to class. Iruka was our sensei. He started talking about the classroom rules and what we will be learning in the next few years. I also found out I had to take kunoichi classes. I don't even really like flowers. I got allergies.

When Iruka-sensei was done explaining everything it was already time for lunch. I sat with Naruto. He had ramen for lunch. I was going to say his obsession with it was crazy but then I remembered from before when I moved out of my parents house (finally) the only food I had was instant ramen because it was cheap and it tasted good.

After lunch we had to run laps to test our stamina and endurance. Naruto lasted the longest due to his Uzumaki genes. It's okay though, I was in fourth place, which was more than good enough for me. (From before, I was in last place every time at a cross country race.) Then we had to do push ups and sit ups. Sensei said we would start taijutsu training next week. Basically going through katas. (I'm just going to call this class gym.)

Finally school was over. Nii-san was waiting for me outside. I ran up to him and gave him a hug.

"How was your first day, Imouto?" Nii-san gave me a kind smile as he took my hand while we started walking in the direction of the clan compound.

"Good, Nii-san." I muttered. He ruffled my hair. I didn't complain. I liked head-pats.

We got dango on the way home since Nii-san has a sweet tooth. He doesn't want anyone to know about it though. (I wasn't complaining.

It turns out Kunoichi classes weren't that bad after all. The first day of class we had to pick flowers and make bouquets. We learned that every flower had a meaning and a few messages before we started picking. I couldn't remember any of them. (Obviously. I was quite forgetful sometimes.) It was still fun, even if I did it by myself since everyone already had a group of friends. I was the only one who sucked at kunoichi classes. Naruto thought it was funny. I did too.

In taijutsu class we learned the academy taijutsu. We also learned where to hit/stab to kill the enemy. Killing won't bother me. It's either me or them and since reincarnation is real, I won't feel bad. (At least that's what I thought.) The clan kids could also work on their clans fighting style if they wanted to. I was almost first in everything but Kunoichi classes. I was dead-last in that. Tou-chan and Kaa-chan didn't really care about it at all when they read my report card. They thought it was a useless class. Tou-chan was quite disappointed that I wasn't first in some of the other classes though. After a while we started doing makeup which is the only thing I'm good at in that class. I got to practice on Itachi-nii-san because his face is pretty. He didn't like it. I wonder why? (Lol you should have seen him, he actually looked like a girl.)

Itachi-nii-san started helping me how to use weapons, again. I was picked up throwing shuriken very quickly. (It was probably genetic.) Before I only knew how to use kunai. I was getting better at taijutsu and when Nii-san was home I could kind of keep up with him in a spar as long as he held back a lot. I never stood a chance against Shisui-nii though, he was too fast.

In the academy we started the leaf exercise. I already knew how to do it though. (I finally mastered it.) Naruto shredded the leaves he was using. Everybody laughed at him for it. I think it's amazing that his affinity for wind chakra is that strong. Naruto can't control his chakra because of Kurama. But he isn't the dead-last. Kushina-san makes him study even though he hates it.

Even though Minato-sama showed his trust to the Uchiha clan the rest of the village is still wary about us. Some shinobi saw the sharingan in the Kyuubi's eyes. Everyone knows the only Uchiha that has gone rogue is Uchiha Madara. Since the Uchiha clan wasn't fighting on the front lines during the Kyuubi attack and only guarding the civilians instead of helping the village thinks we were behind the attack. It's a load of bullshit if you ask me. But I can't just say 'oh yeah, by the way Madara only just died recently and he brainwashed Obito into carrying out his evil plans. Obito didn't die even though Kakashi and Rin saw it with their own eyes.' Nobody would believe me at all. I'm not even suppose to know who Kakashi, Obito, and Rin are. And the clan keeps having these secret meetings that I'm not allowed to go to. I know it's about the Coup. Nii-san has been taking more and more missions since he joined anbu so whenever he is home instead of bothering him I let him rest. We barely spend anymore time with each other. Sometimes when Shisui-san isn't busy he'll watch over my training. I'm still grateful.

I'm certain that the clan is going to be massacred even with Minato-sama as the Hokage. In canon the third Hokage never ordered Nii-san to massacre the clan, Danzo did saying that they were orders from the third Hokage. Nii-san didn't even go straight to Hiruzen and ask if those orders were true. He believed Danzo just because he was a village elder. He was naïve. (I can't talk, so was I.)

If I'm correct, Sasuke was seven years old when the clan was massacred. Which means I have one more year until Itachi kills everyone. I want to save everyone. But I can't. If I tried to say something I would land myself right in the Torture and Interrogation department and after they got the information out of me they would most likely kill me. And if Itachi doesn't kill the clan I'm certain Danzo will have his root anbu do the job killing the clan including Itachi and I. I have no chance in saving the clan which is why I have to cherish all the time I have left with my family and get as strong as as possible for the future battles.

"SATOMI!" I felt something hard hit my head which surprised me and I jumped up six feet in the air only to land on the floor face first. Kami that hurt! The whole entire class burst into laughter as I wiped my bloody nose and glared at them. Naruto was laughing the loudest, his face turning blue from the lack of oxygen.

Iruka-sensei pinched the bridge of his nose and sighed. "Pay attention, Satomi-chan. And wash your face after class, there's blood on it."

"Sorry Sensei, I was thinking." I apologized.

"Can you answer the question? Who were the founders of the Konoha?"

"Uchiha Madara and Senju Hashirama created Konoha in order to stop the fighting between the Senju and Uchiha clans." I answered.

"Correct." He smiled. I sent Naruto a smirk while he pouted. Take that! I can answer a question that I wasn't even paying attention to! But I think still having my memories of my past life is still an unfair advantage. But there's still so much I don't know about this world even though I watched the anime.

Naruto was still laughing at me as we walked out of class. I glared at him. He laughed harder.

"But it's funny, dattebayo!"

"To you it is." I grumbled, shoving my hands into my pockets. I refused to talk to him until he stopped laughing.

"Kaa-chan!" Naruto ran towards Kushina-san and gave her a big hug.

"Hey kiddos," she looked towards me," Satomi-chan, your parents have some clan business to attend to so they asked me to watch you." She grinned.

'More sadistic training?'

"Ok."

She opened her arms. "You don't have a hug for Auntie Kushina?" She asked as she wiped a fake tear out of her eye. I sighed and walked over to give her a hug. She chuckled. "You're like the daughter I never had."

"But Kaa-chan," Naruto whined, "you have me!"

"You're a boy Naruto." I deadpanned. He pouted. I resisted the urge to go hug him and squeal about how adorable he was. Believe it or not, I have my pride.

After we finished our homework (boring but important) we trained with Kushina-san. She may be a retired kunoichi but she used to be an S-rank and it showed. Even working together, Naruto and I stood no chance in beating her, obviously. We had just begun going to the academy.

"I see you've gotten better, Naruto-kun, Satomi-chan." Minato-sama smiled at us from where he was watching us spar on the porch.

"Tou-chan/Minato-sama!" Naruto and I both shouted as we tackled him into a hug. He laughed and ruffled our hair. I gave up on trying to make my hair neat a long time ago. It was a big spiky mess. Unless I grew it out it wasn't going to look any better, which I'm not going to, long hair is to bothersome. It looks like I have a permanent bad hair day. (I still grew it out.)

"You didn't even have to ask her for a hug!" Kushina pouted.

"If you didn't almost suffocate me every time I would always give you hugs." I muttered under my breath. Kushina actually heard that and made me run ten more laps around the training ground. She's such a sadist, but damn if her way of training doesn't get effective results.

"Good morning, Tou-chan." I greeted while looking up with a small smile on my face. Maybe he would teach me a new jutsu.

"Good morning. Satomi-chan, how have things been going at the academy lately?" He asked curiously.

I looked up in shock but then answered. "I'm always one of the top people in class. Everything has been too easy which makes it boring." I said. (Lies.)

I looked at Tou-chan in awe as he created a fire ball as big as a small house. I could feel the heat coming from it. It looks even more impressive in real life!

"This is the fundamental Jutsu of the Uchiha. The hand seals are as I taught you earlier. You build up chakra, stop it once at around between the chest and mouth area, and spew it out at once after that. Try it." He looked at me, expecting me to get it the first time.

'I won't let him down.'

"Hai, Tou-chan."

My hands sped flawlessly through the seals. 'Katon: Gokakyu no Jutsu!' I gathered chakra in between my chest and mouth and released it, creating a fire ball a little smaller than Tou-chan's. I started coughing right after because I burned my mouth.

"That's my girl. You've done well. Live up to that crest on your back." He said as he started walking away.

"Hai!" I grinned.

'How did I do that?'

"What do you mean you can't attend the assembly tomorrow?!" I woke up hearing someone shouting.

'What are they doing up so late?' I thought as I rubbed my eyes. I slowly sat up and left the warm comfort of my bed to go investigate the noise.

"I'm setting out on a mission tomorrow." I heard Nii-san say while I opened the door to the room they were in just a crack.

'Why are they in here with the lights off?'

"What mission." Tou-chan questioned angrily with a stern look on his face.

"I can't say... It's a top secret mission." Nii-san replied, his voice holding no emotion.

Tou-chan sighed. "Itachi... you have the role of the pipe which connects the clan with the keystone of the village. You know that, don't you?" He lectured, glaring in distrust at Nii-san.

"Yeah..."

"Keep that well in mind! And come to tomorrows assembly!"

Itachi-nii-san glanced towards the door, where I was standing there, eavesdropping.

"Satomi-chan..."

Kaa-chan and Tou-chan immediately looked towards the door.

"Get back to bed after you're done using the bathroom." Nii-san ordered.

I opened the door so he could completely see me. "Okay." I answered.

Tou-chan stood up. "What're you doing hanging around this late at night? Get back to bed!" He demanded.

'Didn't Nii-san just say I was using the bathroom?'

"Hai." I said.

"Is Itachi home?! I have something to talk to you about. Come out!" I heard someone shout from the door while I was doing my homework.

"Why is everyone gathered here?" Itachi-nii-san questioned, visibly confused

"There are two people who didn't come to yesterdays assembly. Why didn't you come?!"

I peeked around the hallway to see what all the fuss was about. 'He didn't go to the assembly Tou-chan was talking about last night, after all.'

"I understand that when you enter Anbu, you get roped into various troublesome things. Your father also said something like that in your defense."

"But for us, we don't intend to treat you special." Another clansmen said crossing his arms, face set in a permanent frown.

Itachi-nii-san nodded. "I understand. I will be more careful next time. Now I'm going to have to ask you to leave."

"Right... but before that, there's a little more I want to ask you. It's about Uchiha Shisui who threw himself into the Nakano River to kill himself."

'It's happened already?! Shisui-san...'

"The other person who didn't come to the assembly is Shisui. As I recall, you adored him like an older brother."

"I see... I haven't seen him at all recently. That's too bad." He said quietly, posture become stiffer.

"And we, the police force have decided to launch an all out investigation."

"Investigation?"

I winced.

The clansmen pulled a note out of his pocket and handed it to Nii-san. "The analysis of the handwriting has been completed. No mistake, he did indeed write it."

"If there are no murder leads, then what's the investigation?" Itachi inquired.

"It'd be easy for a a person who possesses the sharingan to copy handwriting, you see. The most adept Uchiha, the man feared as 'Shunshin no Shisui'. He was a man who would take lead no matter what the mission was if it was for the sake of the clan."

"It's hard to believe that such a man like him would leave something like this and kill himself."

"You shouldn't judge people only on looks and speculation." Itachi-nii-san replied.

"For the time being, I leave the will with you. Take that and request cooperation in the investigation from the Anbu Black Ops."

"Understood."

"I hope we get a good lead on this. Also, we have a different route to Anbu Black Ops. We'll know right away if you do something like crushing the investigation request." The clansmen threatened.

Itachi clenched his fists, silently trembling in fury. "Why don't you come out and say it?" He demanded in a deathly calm voice while slightly releasing some killing intent. The three clansmen turned around, sharingan blazing. Itachi-nii-san had his own activated. "You suspect me, right?" He glared. I flinched. I've never seen him this angry before. I don't think I've ever seen Nii-san angry!

"Yeah, that's right you little punk."

"Listen up Itachi. Just try doing something like betraying the clan and you'll regret it."

Itachi-nii-san finally lost his temper and flew at them, defeating them all in less than five seconds.

'He's on a totally different level than me or them!'

"I told you before, you shouldn't judge people on looks or speculation. It's because you took the liberty to judge me as patient and take me lightly. The clan... The clan... You measure incorrectly the size of your own vessels and don't even know the depth of mine, so you grovel there."

'He's going too far!' I thought as I stared at him with wide eyes.

"Shisui was monitoring you recently. Half a year after entering Anbu the strangeness of your behavior couldn't be overlooked. What the hell are you thinking?!"

"Fixated on the organization, fixated on the clan, fixated on the name. It's a dreadful thing that contains oneself and labels one's own vessel. And it's a foolish thing that fear and hate what one has never seen or known-"

"Stop it, Itachi," Tou-chan barked, "what the hell is wrong with you?! You've been a little strange lately."

"I'm not strange at all. I'm carrying out my own role... That's it." Nii-san said in a monotone voice.

"Then why didn't you come last night?" Tou-chan questioned.

"To achieve the next state."

"What are you talking about?"

Nii-san took a kunai out of his pouch so fast I didn't even see it and threw it into one of the clan crests on the side of a building. "My vessel is dismayed at this foolish clan! The likes of the clan... They're fixated on insignificant things, so they lose sight of what is truly important. True change cannot be made if stuck within the restrictions of regulations, and constrained predictions and imagination."

"Stop saying such arrogant things!" Tou-chan shouted while helping one of the clansmen up.

"Enough! You'll be imprisoned if you say any more foolish nonsense!"

"I can't tolerate this any more, Taichou order imprisonment!"

"Nii-san! Please stop!" I begged. His eyes widened before he got down on his knees and bowed.

"I'm not the one who killed Shisui. But I apologize for my numerous slips of the tongue. I'm very sorry..."

Tou-chan sighed. "Lately, he's been up to his ears in Anbu missions, and was a little tired."

"Taichou!"

"The Anbu Black Ops is a force directly under control of Hokage-sama. Even we the Police Force can't arrest him, if we don't have an arrest warrant. And as for Itachi, I will take the responsibility and monitor him. Please..."

"Understood..." The clansmen nodded.

Nii-san glanced at me with his Mangekyo sharingan activated.

Yo! What do you think? Is this better than the original story?

Question: If you were reborn into the Narutoverse would you be a civilian or a shinobi

My answer: I already died anyway so definitely a shinboi.
