Sup. So how was your day?

Chapter 10

"We have to climb trees?" Sachi repeated skeptically, a slightly irritated look coming across his face. His body language read that he thought this was stupid. I snickered, for I knew that this wasn't stupid.

"This isn't normal training, you will climb the tree without using your hands." Kakashi-sensei corrected, learning on his crutches.

"Sounds youthful." I cheered, giving Sensei a thumbs up and a wide grin. Kakashi looked at me in horror, while I heard the sound of a forehead being slapped, probably from Naruto. He had seen the guy that wears a green spandex run around the village shouting stuff before. Sachi just sent me a confused expression. Naruto patted his shoulder, saying something along the lines of 'You don't wanna know. It's traumatizing.'

Kakashi-sensei cleared his throat, getting our attention.

"Just watch," he ordered, exasperated. He easily walked up and stood upside-down on the tree, ignoring the surprised gasps from my teammates.

"Gather chakra to the soles of your feet and try to stick to the tree," he explained.

"I don't understand, how exactly is this supposed to make us stronger?" Naruto questioned, visibly confused. I cackled. Everyone turned to look at me.

"It helps with your chakra control, which makes it easier to mold chakra in battle, and you won't waste as much and will be able to last longer in a fight. It's also good to be able to stick to surfaces, because if your in a location with lots of trees it will be easier to surprise attack the enemy and making hiding less difficult." I lectured, poking my nose, as if to push up imaginary glasses.

Everyone was quiet.

"I think that's the smartest thing I've ever heard you say." Naruto droned, breaking the silence.

"I'm sorry did you say something?" I asked sweetly, pissed off. My teammates shuddered.

'I actually think he's right.' A voice quietly muttered in my head. My eye twitched.

Kakashi-sensei threw down three kunai at us. "Use those knives to mark your progress. You guys aren't strong enough to be able to climb by walking up, so I strongly suggest you have a running start so you have more momentum."

Naruto grinned. "Ha! This will be easy for someone like me, I won't loose to either of you." He smirked arrogantly at us. Sachi glared at him.

I pouted, crossing my arms. "Strong words for someone who was behind me in every subject at the academy." I taunted, covering my mouth up to hide fake giggles. Sachi was actually first place for almost all the subjects, but I was still ahead of Naruto.

He froze, before laughing. "That is where you were wrong my rival, for I was top in taijutsu class," he mockingly retorted, sneering.

'Oh crap, I forgot about that.'

"How about you prove it then, if your so confident!" I growled. We both had a stared at each other intensely, before bursting into laughter, confusing both Sachi and Sensei.

"Kids," Sensei muttered, shaking his head as if what he said explained everything.

"Kids," Sachi parroted, looking at the both of us confusedly. Kakashi-sensei ruffled his hair, ignoring how Sachi glared up at him before trying to fix his hair.

"I think you're my favorite." He eye-smiled.

"I thought I was your favorite!" I whined, finally recovering from laughing.

"Did you say something?"

I slapped my forehead.

'Okay you got this, just find the right amount of chakra you need to apply and don't mess up.' I thought, before placing my palm on the tree, closing my eyes in concentration.

'Not to much, not too little,' I reminded myself as I attempted to remove my hand from the tree, it stuck. I grinned.

'Yes!'

I backed away from the tree, before rushing towards the tree, gathering chakra in my feet. I made it up all the way. It wasn't good enough though, it required complete concentration to stick to the tree. For experienced shinobi, it barely took any concentration to do this.

"Huh, this is easy." I looked across from me at Sachi's tree, where he stood horizontally to the tree trunk easily. It made sense, it was easy for him to perform medical ninjutsu. This should be easy for him.

"Looks like Satomi-chan and Sachi are the closest to becoming Hokage right now, and the Uchiha clan is greater than I thought," Sensei appraised. Sachi preened under Kakashi-sensei's praise while I managed to give Naruto an apologetic smile for what Sensei just said. He hadn't even gotten five steps up the tree.

Naruto frowned before running at the tree again and... slipping off it?

'What? He's not using enough chakra. I thought it would be the exact opposite.'

I hopped down from my tree before observing him slip off the tree again.

"You need to use more chakra. Too much and you'll mostly like launch yourself off the tree, too little and you'll slip off." I explained helpfully.

"That... makes sense. Arigato Satomi!" He grinned before running off, making it a third of the up the tree this time, enjoying the surprised look on Sensei's face.

I looked towards Sachi, before asking, "Can you throw weapons and spar while staying on the tree?"

"I-I guess I could, are you sure? It could be dangerous." He replied, looking at me worriedly.

I grinned. "That's the whole point!"

Dinner was freaking awesome. No, I'm serious. Tauzuna's daughter could cook up the best meal out of nothing.

I slowly chewed on my rice as I watched Naruto out of the corner of my eye scarf down his food before gagging. I patted his pack.

"If you eat too fast you will throw up." I informed him before looking back down at my food, eating it at a normal pace.

"But I have to eat if I want to get stronger, Satomi!" He whined, mouth still full. I glared before ruffling his hair.

"Don't talk with your mouth full." Naruto pouted while Sachi hid a 'cough' behind his hand. Kakashi looked at us all with an amused and somewhat soft expression.

After dinner we were served tea, which I slowly drank while the rest of my teammates gulped theirs down in five seconds. I sweatdropped. Sachi eyed the picture on the wall for a few minutes before asking, "Inari was staring at that picture all through dinner, why is it torn?" Inari froze, while everyone else stiffened for a half second. Everyone went silent.

I internally groaned, while Naruto curiously looked up at the picture.

"It's my husband," Tsunami spoke up, breaking the silence. A pained look appeared on her face. I winced.

"He was a hero..." Tauzuna sighed tiredly, replying to Sachi's question.

Inari's chair screeched on the floor as he stood up and left abruptly, a somber expression on his face, disappearing into the dark night.

"Inari where are you going?" Tsunami followed after him, before looking back at Tauzuna. "I told you not to mention him in front of Inari." She scolded, before hurrying out the door.
