Chapter 11

"Well I'm going to prove it to him that heroes really do exist!" Naruto suddenly exclaimed with a determined look on his face, getting up from the table.

"No you're just going to get chakra exhaustion." I corrected, leaning back into my chair, crossing my arms behind my head.

"Satomi!" Naruto pouted, glaring at me. I rolled my eyes.

"I never said that you couldn't go, just be careful." I warned. Sensei nodded in agreement, looking up from his book.

'Heroes? What are those?' I thought drowsily as I went to sleep, burying my face in my pillow.

The house we were staying in was small, so Naruto, Sachi, and I had to all sleep in one room. We had three futons for each of us so it was fine.

I fell asleep within five minutes, the training earlier had been exhausting. I sparred with Sachi while using the small amount of control I did have to try to stick on the tree. I fell off a lot, but made progress. I could now walk up the tree without having to get a running start, but it still required intense concentration. Sachi was equally as skilled as I was in taijutsu, but with more physical strength.

I focused on predicting movements dodging and speed in my fighting style, while he focused on speed and strength.

Sachi's pov

"I'm going to kill a certain man... restore my clan... and become the most kickass kunoichi!" Satomi chirped, introducing herself with a too bright smile on her face.

Sachi held in a gasp as he tried not to stare at her in shock. He honestly didn't know what to think about the killing part, yes while being a shinobi meant you'd eventually have to kill, to be so sure about it... the thought of killing someone else, just frightened him.

But her revenge didn't. It made sense, if someone killed his family, he would definitely want them dead. He couldn't even begin to imagine the pain she went through. But despite the pain she went through, she still managed to be herself. And he admired that. Her weird sense of humor, the way she laughed at anything she thought was funny. After a while, Sachi began to realize that he loved her for everything she was, to be such a kind person even after what she went through. If anyone asked her, she would help them out. She was strong.

"Hey, Sachi!" Satomi called out, a giddy smile on her pale face.

Sachi looked up from his book, curiously raising an eyebrow in question.

"Do you want to train with Naruto and I? I mean, you don't have anything to do right? I just didn't want you to feel left out!"

"Yeah, I'd like that."

"Oy! Wanna find out what's under Sensei's mask?"

"Add more chakra to your feet. It's needs to be perfect in order to get up the tree. Too much and you'll probably make the tree explode, to little and you'll slip off." Satomi smirked as she helped Naruto up, after he fell off the tree.

"Hey Sachi, can you throw weapons and spar while staying on the tree, I think it could help with our control? And I think it would be good taijutsu training."

"So where's Naruto?" Satomi asked, unaware of the rice that was still stuck to the side of her face and, in her hair. How did it even get there in the first place?

'So adorable!'

"Probably still out training." Sachi surmised, glancing towards the door.

"We should probably go check on him, even he promised not to overdo it," she muttered worriedly standing up as her chair scraped against the floor.

"Ne, you're coming with me right?" Satomi asked, tilting her head.

"Yeah. Let's just hope he didn't get chakra exhaustion."

Satomi's pov

I watched, impressed as Naruto 'fell' from the tree, before walking back down it.

"That's cool that you made so much progress in less than 24 hours. Good job bro!" I cheered, giving him a thumbs up.

"Eh it's really nothing." Naruto laughed, rubbing the back of his head in embarrassment.

"Now all three of us can guard the bridge together!"

We would start guarding the bridge tomorrow, for the rest of the day we continued to train, mostly just sparring and fighting Naruto's shadow clones.

"Ha! I totally won!" Naruto laughed as he opened the door back to the house, supporting both Sachi and I from falling over. Naruto somehow had some energy left, even though he fought both of us while creating tons of shadow clones.

"Hn." I sniffed haughtily, refusing to accept my defeat. At least my ancestors would be proud, I finally said "Hn".

"You three look exhausted." Kakashi-sensei commented, looking up curiously from his book. I leaned further into Naruto's side at the comment, as I couldn't stand on my own.

"Mhm."

"But I made it to the top!" Naruto smirked at Sensei.

Sensei nodded in acknowledgement, "Alright, you three will start guarding the bridge, tomorrow."

"Heck ya!" Naruto cheered jumping in excitement, jumping in excitement.

"Hey be careful!" I squeaked, trying not to fall over.

I chewed on my food slowly as I watched the boys scarf theirs down within thirty seconds. I rolled my eyes and continued to chew my food in a civilized manner, before just scarfing it down like my teammates had.

I rested my head in my arms listening to the chatter in the room going between everyone.

"... no matter how hard you try, the weak will always lose to the strong!" Someone yelled across the table.

I slowly lifted my head from the table, rubbing my eyes as my sight came back into focus.

"Shut up, I'm not weak like you." I heard Naruto say quietly from beside me.

"Shut up," Inari screamed from cross the table, causing me to jump in surprise, "just seeing you makes me sick! You don't even know anything of this land, and yet you stick your nose in our business! I'm not like you guys, I actually know pain!"

'Did this brat actually just...'

I scoffed, attracting stares from everyone. You can't really blame me, watching this pity party was just pathetic. But he'll come around, all he needs is some encouraging words.

"So your saying I don't know what real pain is? I didn't feel pain when I watched my own brother kill my parents, my whole clan?! Give me a break, a weakling like you can just keep crying," I growled. Well, as much as a twelve-year-old could growl. It didn't really matter in the heat of the moment, though.

To just give up like that was stupid. Believe it or not, they could beat Gato. He was only a civilian, just hiding behind guards. I doubt Zabuza and Haku would care what happened to him, as long as they got paid.

I've been through worse, and I'm not giving up. I'll do whatever it takes to kill Danzo, no matter what. He deserves to be dead.

Everything was silent until the screeching noise of my chair pierced the silence. I ignored the way my legs trembled in exhaustion as I got up.

"Good night." I waved my hand lazily over my shoulder, before exiting the room.

By morning I had gained all my energy back. It turns out Naruto went out to train again and couldn't join us this time to guard the bridge.

"Are you sure you're feeling well enough?" Tsunami asked, face showing concern.

"Yes. Just take care of Naruto." Sensei replied, using my head as an arm rest. I shoved his arm off my head, Kakashi-sensei put his arm back on my head. Why do I even try? I stared ahead with a pout on my face. Sachi laughed at my sour expression, before getting his hair ruffled by Sensei. Ha! Karma for laughing at my misery.

"What's going on? What happened?"

I stared ahead, all the bridge workers were either dead or unconscious. We were surrounded by mist in no time which smelled of blood. The air felt humid and gross, but it would be stupid to complain about a trivial thing. Ergo, I kept quiet.

'It is called the bloody mist for a reason.' I mused, taking a fighting stance.

"He's coming, be ready!" Kakashi-sensei ordered us in a sharp tone, eye narrowing at the surrounding mist. It was useless, I couldn't see a thing.

The three of us surrounded Tauzuna, pulling out our kunai knives.

"Sorry to have kept you waiting." Zabuza's voice rang throughout the area. Actually don't be sorry, in fact it would be better if you didn't fight us at all!

"And you've still got those brats with you, as usual."

I glared fiercely as the clones surrounded us, trying anticipate their next moves.

"Sachi, Satomi, do it." Kakashi-sensei instructed. I grinned.

In a flash of speed, Sachi and I both slashed and stabbed all the clones. They exploded in water as we landed back in the guarding formation.

"So they can defeat the clones, your brats have improved, I see." Zabuza observed, stepping out of the fog with Haku.

'Wow. While your taking the time to step out of the fog to talk to us, unstealthily I might add, you could have just killed us with your silent killing technique, then you wouldn't have to go through the trouble of fighting Sensei, and everyone else. Meh, just a thought.' I thought, frowning.

"Rivals have emerged, Haku." Zabuza surmised, eyeing both Sachi and I.

"So it seems." Haku responded in a emotionless voice, stepping forward. I shuddered before retightening my grip on my kunai.

'If I even want to have a chance to survive what comes after this, I need to awaken it. And if I die, well I trust Naruto and Sachi. Death is literally the next adventure.'

"I was right, no matter how you see it he's a comrade of Zabuza, standing with him and all... I hate brat's who think they're so cool." Sensei observed, eyeing the duo.

"Sachi, I'll fight him. You guard the bridge builder." I murmured, staring into the narrowed eye-slits of Haku's mask.
