The Continent Of Halkeginia.

Country Of Tristain.

Tristain Academy Of Magic.

The Spring Familiar Ceremony Ritual Site.

The Spring Familiar ceremony was, without doubt, the most important event for the sophomore year nobles that attended the most excellent and most prestigious Academy within the country of Tristan. The summoning of a familiar spirit would allow for their teacher Jean Colbert or, as he's generally addressed by the Academy's staff and nobles, Professor Colbert. To gain valuable insight into the magical affinity of the student casting the spell as the familiar spirit was a representative of a noble's true talent within the complicated art of magic.

"Now has everyone had a turn to summon their familiar spirit?" Professor Colbert asked the assembled group of sophomore nobles that had just finished summoning and contracting their respective familiars; the sophomores seemed to grin smugly upon hearing the question. Colbert was quick to realise that a specific pink-haired student hadn't tried the summoning yet and was most likely trying to avoid the attempt for as long as possible, not that the Professor blamed the girl as her classmates could be rather cruel to the explosive mage.

"Little Louise hasn't gone yet, Professor Colbert!" Colbert withheld the urge to sigh as Kirche Von Zerbst mockingly called out the third daughter to the Valliere family's name. The pink-haired sophomore was standing near the back of her classmates, trying and failing to be as invisible as was humanly possible without the use of magic.

"I see, thank you, Miss Zerbst," honestly the former Flame-Snake wanted to heavily scold the talented student that had only a few minutes ago summoned a fire salamander as a familiar. A sure sign of the Germania's affinity to the destructive element of fire. However, past experiences combined with the attitude most of the class held towards Louise's explosive attempts towards using magic had taught Colbert that trying to stop the redhead's mockery of the Valliere's third daughter was nothing more than a waste of time and energy. "Miss Valliere, could you please step inside the summoning circle and attempt to summon your familiar spirit."

"Of course Professor." Colbert watched with a hawk gaze as Louise marched into the summoning circle with what appeared to be utmost confidence. Although to a war veteran and seasoned teacher such as himself, Professor Colbert could easily see the signs that his most problematic student wasn't at all thrilled with the idea of performing the sacred ritual in front of her classmates. Not that he could blame the pink-eyed Valliere for that, as this was her last attempt to prove that she was a proper mage and use the sacred gift of magic given to the nobility of Halkeginia by their god Brimir.

"Uh Louise, The Zero is up next; we should take cover now before she explodes the whole area!"

"Oh please, Zero's so bad at magic I doubt anything bad will happen to us!"

"Yeah, it's The Zero we're talking about; she is the worst mage in history!"

"She'll probably just cause a minor explosion and fail the summoning ritual just like she fails at everything else!"

"Ha! Then again, what else can we expect from Louise The Zero!"

Colbert frowned with great displeasure at the mockery that his students openly displayed towards Louise De La Valliere. Without much delay, he ordered the class of nobles to cease their childish and distasteful behaviour. The Professor mentally marked those who didn't obey immediately for future detentions. Such disrespect towards a fellow noble can not continue or fester within the students' minds. Lest these future nobles and protectors of the realm someday offended a high ranking member of the royal government. Which could likely end with their families reputations being utterly destroyed or, worse, their titles and noble status stripped from them.

Once silence returned to the area containing the familiar ritual site, the gathered noble students and supervising ProfessorProfessor watched from a safe distance as Louise took a calming breath. She was most likely to help steel her nerves for the summoning spell before raising her wand straight towards the sky and chanting a new variation of the familiar spirit summoning spell.

"My servant that exists somewhere within this vast universe!"

The noble students began to chatter amongst themselves how this was a very different sort of familiar chant than most others would summon their familiars. Even Guiche de Gramont. The class's resident playboy commented that the chant was unique and somewhat fitting for a talentless mage such as Zero, which earned a nod of agreement from his fellow blond and girlfriend Montmorency de Montmorency. Who was petting Robin, her frog familiar and the symbol of the blond's affinity to the water element.

"My divine, beautiful, wise, powerful, servant, heed my call, I wish from the very bottom of my heart add to my guidance," with a gaze filled with determination. Louise switched the position of her wand from the sky towards the earth, which held the summoning circle. "And appear!" Before Colbert could even blink, the most powerful explosion that he's ever seen Louise conjure burst into existence. The blast was so powerful and bright that the entire gathering of nobles was temporarily made blind.

"Huh, I can't see Zero's blind us!" Montmorency cried out in a panicked tone as she tried to regain her sight by rubbing her bright blue eyes.

"Have no fear, my dear Montmorency. I'll protect you!" Guiche comforted his beloved in a flamboyant tone though how much help the playboy would be was a mystery as he was just as blind as the other nobles in the courtyard.

"Hum, just as expected from Louise The Zero." Kirche taunted while trying to regain the ability to see.

Professor Colbert, who was the first person to have regained his sight, immediately groaned with despair upon witnessing the massive smokescreen surrounding the spot where his explosive student had been standing. The powerful and experienced fire mage could already see the colossal bill that was undoubtedly going to be born once a noble that specialised in repair work saw the damages caused by Miss Valliere. And told the headmaster how much it would cost the Academy to repair the now ruined courtyard.

Still as nightmarish as the future repairs to the courtyard would be, the fact remained that Miss Valliere was covered in smoke which would damage her health if she stayed with the smog, so with that in mind, Professor Colbert used a potent wind spell to blow away the smoke. However, once the familiar ceremony site was cleared of the smog, the entire gathering of nobles could finally see Louise. Who appeared to be a bit dirtied by the recent explosion, and the being which would be her familiar until death took either one of them.

"Did Miss Valliere summon a golem?" Colbert frowned with uncertainty as he observed the tall silver entity that resembled a knight made entirely out of steel and possessed a strange, stylised C imprinted on the thing's chest. "It can't be a human wearing armour since there are no seals that indicate that the outer plates can be removed from the body, plus its stand far too straight and still to be a living, breathing creature." The most worrying thing about this golem was how it was impressively constructed. Meaning that the noble that built it had put a lot of time and effort into its creation and would likely not be happy when they learn that their golem was summoned to be an academy student familiar.

"I'll have to report this to the headmaster so that we can find the golem's maker and hopefully smooth things over before a feud between them and the Valliere's can be born," the Valliere family were powerful. An influential family within the country of Tristan, however, the person that had crafted the silver golem was obviously a master of the earth element and could become a dangerous enemy if the situation wasn't handled properly. "But first, Miss Valliere must complete the bounding between master and familiar."

Professor Colbert cleared his throat loudly, gaining the attention of everyone within the courtyard. "An excellent summon, Miss Valliere," Colbert congratulated his prink eyed student, who seemed not to be paying that much attention to him or anyone else for that matter as she was entirely focused on her metallic familiar. "Perhaps your familiar symbolises that you have an affinity to the earth element," the students in the crowd that had a strong earth affinity grimaced as they didn't like the idea that Zero had a connection with them. "Still, the time has come to perform the bounding contract that will bound you and this golem as master and familiar."

The supervising Professor watched on as the third daughter of the Valliere family mutely nodded once in understanding and then moved towards the silver golem so that she may complete the ceremony and finally gain her familiar spirit. Hopefully, the bounding contract would be done without any further surprises or explosions so that he can end the ceremony and rush to headmaster Osmond so that the both of them can begin the search for the golem's creator and stop an incident between them and the Valliere's. The crowd of students watching as events played out on the sidelines was thankfully silent as a sign of respect towards this sacred moment between master and familiar.

Meanwhile, With The Recently Summoned Cyberman.

Cyber Engineer Unit 4987 Theta was beyond confused. The Cyberman built to specialise in engineering and spaceship repairs had moments ago been on a Corvette class cyber-ship fighting an intense battle against four Dalek vessels of the same classification. The Cyber Engineer at the time had been in the engineering room trying and sadly failing to restore power to the main shields. Though now it was standing within a courtyard surrounded by medieval structures after being sucked into a green portal which had an unknown child's voice echoing from the magical doorway's depths.

"Cyber Unit 4987 Theta has lost contact with assigned Cyber-vessel and the cyber-neural network!" If Cyber Theta could feel emotion at that moment, the Cyberman was sure that he'd felt frustration as its internal computer systems gave information that the Cyberman already knew about. "Recommend finding nearest uplink tower or cyber-vessel to re-establish a connection with the cyber-neural network!" That would be a problem. Because from what Cyber Theta could see from its surroundings, the inhabitants of this new world it found itself on were highly primitive and wouldn't likely have the technology or know-how to help it re-establish contact with the other Cybermen out within the void of space.

"Begin internal and external systems checks." The lone Cyberman ordered its internal computer, which upon receiving the command, immediately got to analysing and checking to see if any damage was caused to the Cyberman during the trip through the unknown gateway.

"Unit Theta's outer casing is undamaged, and hand electro defence mechanisms are operating at 100% capacity!"

"Internal mechanisms are operating within expectable perimeters. Organic components are unharmed!"

"Energy levels at 43% and holding recommend finding a power source to recharge energy to more safe levels!"

"Warning Neural network as been disconnected!"

On and on, the diagnostic went as the Cyberman silently waited in the middle of the summoning circle, uncaring that Louise was marching towards it with the full intention of making the cyber life-form her familiar. The Cyberman had never encountered the inhabitants of this world before, so it was unaware of the familiar bounding ceremony or the elements of magic that the nobles of Halkeginia could wield.

By the time the Cyberman had finished with the self-diagnostic, Louise had managed to move close enough to stand before the emotionless cyber life-form. A determined fire blazed within the pink-haired sophomore's eyes as she began to chant the bounding spell that would make the Cyberman the third Valliere daughter's familiar.

"Pentagon of the Five Elemental Powers!" The Cyberman lowered its head to stared at the far smaller and easily identified human female who was currently pointing a stick of all things at it. "Grant your blessings upon this creature and bind it as my familiar!" Once the chanting had been completed, Cyber Theta could only watch dumbfounded as the unknown human literally kissed its chest plate though, given the size difference, there weren't many other places for the pink-haired child to kiss it and seal the contract.

Cyber Theta was about to demand why the unknown had kissed it, a first for any Cyberman. Still, before the words could leave its mouth, a terrible pain suddenly overcame its systems as the power of the void forcefully entered its cyber-suit and began trying to alter its programming better to serve the inheritor of the lost void magic. However, the void magic had never encountered a Cyberman and thus was having trouble trying to gain control of Theta's systems, which allowed for the Cyber-being a chance to fight back against the mystical invader.

"Unknown energy has invaded Cyber-suite beginning defensive protocols!" Unseen by the nobles and ProfessorProfessor a devastating war was being fought within the Cyberman, as cold logic and computer programs tried to eradicate the primordial force that was the void.

"Error, error, unidentified energy has attempted to overwrite primary objective programs sending backup programs to fortify central computer and neural network from further contamination!" The Gandalfr runes were trying to engrave themselves upon the Cyberman's left hand. Yet, thanks to the internal war within Theta, the runes were flickering in and out of existence as the void was having a hard time gaining control over the Cyberman.

"Warning central computer has been breached," if Theta were capable of emotional expressions, then it would've shown rage as the void after what felt like a thousand-year was getting close to victory over the Cyberman. "Estimated time until unknown energy takes total control of Cyber unit Theta 5.5 seconds!" The Cyberman knew that the war against the void was over there was nothing else that it could do to prevent the magical force from taking control of its form and harnessing its power.

The seconds seemed to passed by for an eternity as the primordial void began rewriting the Cyberman's programs so that it may become a better servant for a Void mage. Although as powerful as the void was, it still faced some problems from the now defeated Cyberman. The main protocols were hardwired into the very circuitry and computer systems, meaning that they'd have to stay lest their removal harm Theta's combat capabilities. At the same time, allowing the Cyberman free rein without ensuring loyalty to Louise De La Valliere would surely result in the noblewomen's death, an outcome that the void wished to avoid at any cost.

However, there was a solution to this particular problem as the primordial void hurriedly accessed the Cyberman's protocols that dealt with the Cybermen's hierarchy and their rank within their species. With a little bit of magical force and limited intellect, the void made Theta recognise its user as the highest authority and supreme leader of its race. Once that was done, the void used the last of its power within the cyber-suite to gift the Cyberman with the abilities of the Gandalfr.

Now all that was left to do was to allow the Cyberman to awaken and greet its master.

Meanwhile, With Louise De La Valliere.

To say that Louise was nervous as she stared at her motionless familiar would be a vast understatement, the third daughter of the Valliere's wished that she'd never bragged to Kirche yesterday about how she'll summon a familiar far greater than anyone else. At first, things seemed to be going well for her as she'd successfully summoned a silver and intimidating type of golem that might've indicated that Louise had an affinity for earth magic. However, just as everything was going fine, the stupid golem appeared to have died, leaving her without nothing more than an overgrown silver statue.

Tears threatened to spill from her eyes as the golem remained lifeless. "Please don't be dead. I need you to prove that I'm a true mage!" Whether by fate or the void magic that remained within the Cyberman heard Louise's cry for the Cyberman not to be dead, it was at that moment Theta awakened from its forced slumber.

"Systems reboot completed!" The cold, emotionless tone of the Cyberman exploded across the courtyard, frightening the assemble nobles except for Louise, who was staring at the metallic entity with tears of happiness. "All weapons and defensive mechanisms are online!"The centre of Theta's chest plate shined brightly as the void recharged the Cyberman's energy levels back to 100%.

"Familiar, do you recognise me?" The third Valliere daughter couldn't wait to rub this in Kirche's face because the golem was definitely better than the dumb fire salamander that the red-haired harlot had summoned earlier. Louise grinned with barely containable glee as the evidence that she was a proper mage was standing tall and unmovable for everyone that had ever doubted her to see.

"Affirmative!" Theta stomped its feet once and then slammed the fist with the runes upon the stylized C. "Cyber unit Theta recognizes Louise De La Valliere, student of Tristain academy of magic, herald of the primordial void!"The nobles stared in surprise at the Cyberman for their knowledge of Louise and the Academy. However, none noticed how pale professor Colbert became when Theta announced the title Herald of the Primordial Void, as it could only mean that Louise was a void mage.

Although Colbert was thankful that none of the students were paying that much attention to the titles that the Cyberman had just announced, meaning that the Flame Snake might have a chance to avoid everyone within the courtyard from learning the now revealed truth bout Louise's magic. Unfortunately, there was one last title the Cyberman was about to announce, which would cause as many headaches and problems in the future as Louise being a void mage.

"The Empress Of The Cybermen!"
