(A/N: Before I get into the touchy-feely stuff, I've decided to cut "Santa Saurus" for now. I may go back after I'm finished with Season 1 and take requests for episodes that I've missed/skipped as "Extra Episodes." Though, they aren't really extra unless Ren physically wasn't there for them, like the time she broke her leg or Ebony injured her arm. Just because Santa Saurus is just right in the middle of the most important plot of the series, I decided it's better to come back to it. Anyways, onto the positive side of this Author's Note.)
(Well, everyone, we finally made it the ending arc of Season 1. Fun fact, this would've been the first episode that truly hinted/gave away that Ren and Rex were related with it then confirmed in "Tricks of the Traitor." Mind you, I started this story at the end of 2018, publishing the first couple of chapters at the beginning of 2019. I definitely could not have waited three whole years for that reveal. I could barely wait a couple of months, lmao! I think the reveal would've been better in this chapter rather than the bull crap I pulled in "Say What?" Maybe if I were to rewrite Season 1, I would write it out differently... Well I guess it's a good thing I'm rewritting the series again with a good friend of mine on Quotev! That's write, we're doing it all again baby! This time in a collaborative story with two OC inserts, Ren and then my writing partner's character, Jess! She started her own story with Jess, but we decided to combine our two worlds in: Universes Combine ( )! You can also find it if you search up my username on Quotev which is BlueberryTheSmol which my display name currently being at the time of post "Kaylyn is a MHA junkie" and look at my Dinosaur King stuff. We're still working on the first episode, so there's not much up there now, but I think I'm going to make a schedule before I write UiD Season 2 alternating between which story I work on, as well as real life stuff since I'm in college and have important stuff to do like school, lol. Well, this was a longer Author's Note than I intended. Again, thank you all for the incredible support whether you've been here all three years, or are just joining, I appreciate you! Now, onto the show)
In the D-Lab, Reese was analyzing the android that the kids recovered in Moscow. There was a bunch of tech that she wasn't fully understanding, but she was trying her best with the knowledge that she knows. Reese put two of the wires together, causing a spark on the android. Suddenly, his eyes filled with life again.
"Rebooting. Online," the android said.
"I think I've repaired him!" Reese said with a smile.
"Run scan. Require data," the android said again, still unmoving from his position on the table Reese had placed him upon.
"I hope there is data," Reese murmured to herself.
While the android was rebooting himself and trying to come back online, Reese had contacted Dr. Taylor and the kids so they could come check it out. They didn't have to wait for too much longer upon entering the lab for the android to sit up straight on the table.
"My name is... Johnathan!" the android proclaimed. He immediately jumped up to observe some dinosaur bones that Dr. Taylor had sitting out and began to rearrange them. Chomp, Ace, Paris, and Ebony watched nearby.
"What's he doing?" Max asked.
"It looks like he's assembling a fossil model," Dr. Taylor said in astonishment.
"It's possible that he may have been programmed with information of dinosaur bone structure," Reese commented.
"An android dinosaur expert," Rex said softly.
"I wasn't able to get him completely back online, though," Reese admitted.
"What do you mean?" Zoe asked. "Is he still all messed up?"
"A little," Reese said as she turned towards her little sister. "I did the best I could with him, but some of his systems are a little more advanced than what current Earth technology could produce, so-"
"So, he's an alien android," Ren asked with a sarcastic tone.
"Not necessarily, but definitely some futuristic technology," Reese told Ren. This piqued an interest in all four of the kids.
"From the future?" Max, Rex, Zoe, and Ren all asked in unison.
"Say kids," Dr. Taylor began to theorize as he looked at the children. "Didn't you say that the Alpha Gang's base had some pretty futuristic-looking stuff?"
"Yeah," Max replied.
"Seems like to me that Johnathan might be built by the Alpha Gang," Dr. Taylor continued to theorize.
"But if this android is part of the Alpha Gang, then why did it save us?" Zoe asked.
"Yeah, it jumped right in front of us from that fire attack," Ren added. The kids, Reese, and Dr. Taylor all took a moment to pause and look up towards Johnathan, who had since finished a fossil model of a T-Rex and was now giving the chibi dinosaurs some pets.
"I don't know what his relation is to the Alpha Gang, but it's definitely got something to do with dinosaurs. Johnathan continued to play with the dinosaurs. He picked up Chomp.
"Come here little guy," Johnathan told the Triceratops. "They call you Chomp, is that right?" Almost as if it were a "yep," Chomp bit down on Johnathan's beard. Johnathan chuckled. Then he attempted to get Chomp off of him, but in doing so, it flipped his entire head around one hundred and eighty degrees. Chomp dropped off from the android as Johnathan's eyes began to glow yellow.
"Woah, look at that!" Max exclaimed.
"What just," Ren asked trying to figure it out.
"His head just," Zoe half started her own sentence before becoming lost for words. Johnathan was wiggling his head with his hands, but it was not going back to the way it was before.
"His head just turned upside down!" Rex concluded.
"What's this? I have no idea where I am?" Jonathan stated as he looked around the D-Lab before he spotted the people standing before him. "Or who all of you are."
"My name is Max," the brunette boy introduced.
"And I'm Zoe, but do you remember your name?" The pink-haired girl asked with hesitation.
"I'm Jonathan, nice to meet you," the android said as he put his arm across his chest and bowed to the people in front of him. "But surely, you must already know that since two of you are my creators."
"You're joking, right?" Ren asked with a chuckle.
"I will run a scan to see which of you matches my parameters," Johnathan stated before stating his scan. He looked upon the group, but nothing was clicking. "How odd. My memory seems to have been partially erased." Then, he spotted the first individual, Rex. He looked Rex in the eye. With bold confidence he stated:
"Identity confirmed,"
"Huh? Who me?" Rex asked.
"Dr. Ancient," the android then said, then the eyes of another individual caught him, Ren. The adroid began to scan her as well.
"Identity confirmed," Johnathan stated.
"I don't know what you're talking about. We don't know a Dr. Ancient," Ren stated.
"Dr. Cretacia," Johnathan then said.
"Our names are Rex and Ren Owen," Rex told Johnathan.
"Who's Dr. Ancient and Dr. Cretacia?" Max asked Johnathan. The android took a few seconds to think about Max's question.
"I do not know," Johnathan stated.
"But you just called us those names! So, you must know who they are!" Rex tried to rationalize.
"I have no recollection of having said that. You must be mistaken," Johnathan told the boy.
"You don't know what you just said?" Zoe asked.
"Oh boy, there seems to have been massive damage to his memory," Dr. Taylor stated.
"Whatever," Ren huffed. "This is a load of crap. I'm out of here. This guy is starting to give me the creeps." Ren began to make her exit, but she didn't get far.
"Wait, Ren!" Max said. Ren stopped in her tracks.
"Alright, fine," Ren grumbled.
"So, Johnathan, is that your real face or is the other one?" Reese asked the android.
"Whatever are you referring to?" Johnathan replied.
"Your head just turned upside down," Max pointed out. Johnathan, then looked to Max.
"Well, that explains the post-nasal drip," Johnathan told the boy. The kids, Reese, and Spike all stood there dumbfounded by this android. Who was he really? Who were Dr. Ancient and Dr. Cretacia? How are they related to Ren and Rex? So many unanswered questions.
In a testing chamber on Zeta Point, Terry was inside using a move that the Alpha Gang has never used yet. The Tyrannosaurus created a giant ball of fire that almost looked like magma while scorching waves of heat surrounded him. Terry shot the flaming ball at a target that was also in the testing chamber, incinerating it upon contact. Directly after Terry finished using the move, he roared weakly before reverted back to his card.
"The attack was effective, but it completely drained all of Terry's energy," Seth told himself as he was taking notes. "It doesn't matter how powerful the move is if it leaves the dinosaur unable to perform. I'll have to devise a shield that'll protect the dinosaur's energy while using it." Seth said looking at a move card in his hand. For once, Gabriel wasn't with him. He had sent Gabriel on a solo mission with some Alpha Droids to recover some fossils. However, there was someone who was watching the experiment. When Seth looked up, he made eye contact with Laura from across the chamber, who was pressing her face into the glass.
Seth made quick work to walk around to where the young girl just observed his experiment. He walked through the automatic doors. Laura turned around to face the tall man.
"Were you watching?" Seth asked sternly.
"Wh-What was that move you were using? It looked like you were hurting Terry!" Laura asked Seth full of nervousness and confusion.
"It's a new move," Seth stated. "But don't worry about Terry. He just needs a little rest now."
"There's a new move? Grandpa hasn't talked about it," Laura further questioned.
"Yes, well, the doctor hasn't been able to work very much since his back injury. So, I thought it would be nice if I developed a new move for him," Seth replied. "Now, it's important that nothing interrupts my work until it's done, Laura. So, you can't tell anyone what you just saw. If you do, the surprise could make the doctor's back pain even worse. I know you wouldn't want that to happen. If you really care about your grandpa, you won't tell anyone about this. Not even your brother." Seth told Laura, who was just shocked to hear that Seth was this serious about something. She knew she just watched something that she shouldn't have. Seth was up to something, but now, she couldn't tell anybody!
Sometime later, Laura was watching over Terry as the chibi dinosaur laid on a small bed with cramps, aches, and pains of all sorts.
"What's wrong with Terry?" Rod asked upon entering the room.
"I think he's sick," Laura melancholy response came. She knew that Terry wasn't sick. He was in pain. But Seth told her that she couldn't tell anyone anything. Not even Rod. "Can you help me take him to the hospital?"
"Really? Maybe we should go ask Grandpa about it first," Rod replied. He turned to leave the room, but Laura was quick to grab her brother's arm.
"No! Don't! We can't tell Grandpa about this!" Laura pleaded.
"Why not?" Rod asked as he raised an eyebrow at his suspiciously acting sister.
"Because he'll just get all worried and then his back ache will get all bad again," Laura fibbed. Rod just blinked at his sister who wasn't making any sort of sense to him. "Please, Rod. Just help me take Terry to the animal hospital, okay?"
"Alright," Rod finally caved, but he still did not know what was going on with his sister. The two siblings took Terry and hopped inside their aircraft that they usually take out on missions with Gabriel and took off into the air.
"We'll take him to that girl, Zoe's, father. The one that we teleported to the island that one time. He knows dinosaurs, so that would be the best place to go," Rod said as Laura held Terry on her lap. (A/N: This is in reference to Vaccination Vacation, which I skipped due to progression of the story.)
"Alright," Laura said softly as she looked at the injured Terry on her lap.
Meanwhile, at an excavation site, there were many men hard at work digging up dinosaur bones and fossils. That was until a strange aircraft flew in low above them. A hatch on the bottom of the aircraft dropped open and multiple Alpha Droids rolled out. The driver of the aircraft was none other than Gabriel Dallison.
The Alpha Droids made quick work of the site, sending paleontologists scrambling and deserting their stations as they scavenger for bones and fossils to bring back to Zeta Point. Among these paleontologists, is Dr. Owen, who makes no hesitation to phone the D-Lab.
"Yes, Dr. Owen? What is your emergency?" Dr. Taylor said upon picking up the phone and putting his friend on a video screen.
"Suddenly, there are multiple reports of these robots tearing up excavation sites and looking all over the world," Dr. Owen stated.
"What do they want?" Rex asked.
"Do you know?" Ren added.
"They seem to be looking for something," Dr. Owen told the D-Lab.
"Maybe they were sent to look for more card," Zoe theorized.
"But I thought all the dinosaur cards have already been found," added Dr. Taylor.
"What else could they be looking for?" Max asked. Johnathan coughed from the side as he carried in a tray with a teapot and some teacups.
"Sorry to interrupt, but maybe you could use a break," the android said. This peculiar individual caught the interest of Dr. Owen.
"Is this the android you told me about?" Dr. Owen asked Spike.
"Yes, his memory's been damaged, but he sure does make a good cup of tea!" Dr. Taylor replied. Suddenly, Reese's phone began to ring, and she picked it up.
"Yes? Oh, hello Dad," Reese greeted. "What? Who's there?"
Meanwhile at Dr. Drake's veterinary clinic, Dr. Drake was doing a check up on Terry while Rod and Laura watched with anticipation.
"Is he going to be okay?" Laura nervously asked Dr. Drake. Dr. Drake removed his stethoscope from Terry's chest and looked at the kids.
"This dinosaur is exhausted to the point of collapse. Whatever were you having him do?" Dr. Drake asked the children.
"Oh, I didn't have him do anything, I just found him like this," Laura lied to the veterinarian.
"Laura, I thought you said he was sick," Rod told his sister. Laura didn't have an explanation, she just looked to the ground. Can't tell anyone.
"It's okay, Laura. If you want me to help Terry, you're going to have to tell me exactly what happened to him," Dr. Drake told the girl in a comforting tone. "So, what was it that made him so tired?"
"Well, I-" Laura started to think of some sort of excuse, but was interrupted by the D-Team bursting into the veterinary clinic.
"Hey! What are you doing here?" Max asked in an accusatory tone.
"Hold on, Max, look," Zoe said and pointed to Terry who was laying on the table.
"Tell us what's wrong with Terry," Rod told his sister more sternly.
"But Seth made me promise not to tell you," Laura said without making eye contact with her brother.
"What does he have to do with it?" Rod asked.
"He said something bad would happen to Grandpa if I told anyone," Laura said as she looked up at her brother.
"Seth told you that?" Rod asked astonished and taken back.
"Hey, what are you two talking about?" Max asked.
"Who is this Seth person?" Dr. Taylor asked.
"He's one of the Alpha Gang," Rex replied.
"Yeah, lately, Gabriel's been hanging around him and these two. From what I remember about Seth, he had this huge lab full of inventions," Ren added.
"He's the one reengineering dinosaur DNA!" Max scowled.
"I always thought that he was the worst villain of them all in the Alpha Gang," Zoe growled.
"Worst villain," Johnathan muttered to himself as he stood in the back of the crowd of people. Suddenly, a memory unlocked for the android of Seth wiping his data clean. "The worst villain!" Johnathan then turned to leave without anyone noticing.
"So did Seth do something bad to Terry?" Max asked.
"He said it was just a new move he was working on," Laura began to tear up.
"What kind of a move?" Rex asked.
"I'm afraid that Grandpa's going to get hurt!" Laura exclaimed. The D-Team froze in shock. Amidst the silence, the sound of wind whirling, similar to that of a helicopter, was heard outside. Everyone rushed outside to see that Rod and Laura's ship was taking off.
"Look!" Rod said as he pointed to the driver of the ship.
"It's Johnathan!" Laura said.
"Very good, Gabriel," Seth said upon the dirty blonde-haired boy's return to the lab with the Alpha Droids who have returned a full T-Rex skeleton. "It's a flawless Tyrannosaurus skeleton, and its DNA is in good shape as well."
"So, since I went out and recovered these T-Rex bones for ya, do you mind letting me in on what you're doing?" Gabriel asked out of curiosity.
"All in good time, Gabriel," Seth told the boy.
"You always say that!" Gabriel huffed. "It's always, 'Gabriel do this,' or 'Gabriel do that,' but never 'Hey, Gabe, this is why I need this or that.'"
"Trust me, my good friend," Seth said as he placed as hand on Gabriel's shoulder. "Once the plan is complete, everything with come unfolded and revealed. But never doubt your place with me. You are still just as important to this project as I am."
"Alright," Gabriel said with a bit of an uncertain tone. Suddenly, the automatic door slid open, and Zander walked through.
"Seth, Dr. Z wants to see you now," Zander stated. Seth nodded before he followed Zander to see Dr. Z. Gabriel followed close behind. The three walked down a corridor before turning a corner to find Dr. Z, Ursula, and Ed talking about Helga.
"Looking back, choosing a cook with a nuclear temper and built like a bulldozer may not have been the wisest decision," Dr. Z said. "Especially now that she's gone haywire and nobody but the company that I ordered her from knows how to fix her helplessly scrambled brain!"
"So, are you saying she's stuck like this forever?" Ed asked.
"Don't worry, I think a good 2000-volt shock will return her to normal," Dr. Z said.
"Normal? There's a good one," Ursula scoffed.
"Excuse me, Dr. Z. I brought Seth just like you had asked, and Gabriel's here too," Zander told the elderly scientist.
"Hello Seth and Gabriel! Do you know where my grandkids and Terry have run off to?" Dr. Z asked.
"They're not in the study room?" Gabriel asked.
"No, I haven't seen them," Seth replied.
"Well, they've suddenly gone missing and on top of that, the Alpha Scanner suddenly isn't allowing communication. Why is that? Seth, I depend on you to keep things running around here while I'm injured, but now things are breaking down and my grandkids are gone!" Dr. Z yelled.
"I'm sure Rod and Laura are just playing somewhere on the island, sir," Seth replied calmly.
"Yeah, Seth, you're probably right," Dr. Z muttered.
"But I have some good news for you, Doctor," Seth smiled. "The propulsion device on Level 2 has passed its preliminary tests."
"What really?" Dr. Z asked.
"Yes, sir. You can even thank Gabriel here for it. He has a way with mechanics," Seth placed a hand on Gabriel's shoulder and looked at his lab partner with a smile.
"Oh, well, it's nothing really," Gabriel started. "I mean it is. You guys have some weird-looking tech around here, but I'm starting to learn how it all works."
"That's big!" Dr. Z cheered. "Why didn't you say so?"
"My apologizes, Doctor," Seth respectfully bowed to Dr. Z. "I wanted to do some more simulations first and report back to you after I was 100% sure. So far, we have a 98% success rate,"
"Good enough, let's run it up to full power immediately," Dr. Z stated. Just then, sirens began baring and a holographic screen appeared in front of the group of people there. "What now?" Dr. Z grumbled.
"An intruder with one of our jets!" Ursula scoffed as she watched the figure land and climb out of the Alpha Gang ship. The camera then zoomed up on the figure, and everyone besides Gabriel immediately recognized the face that was now on the island.
"No! Not possible!" Dr. Z yelled. Johnathan punched down the first door to break inside. Several Alpha Droids confronted him, but none were successful to stopping the android who was breaking in. The cameras soon lost sight of the android.
"Who was that?" Gabriel asked.
"Johnathan," Zander replied with a gulp.
"Who's Johnathan?" Gabriel asked.
"More on that later. How did Johnathan find his way here?" Dr. Z asked the rest of the group.
"How do we battle him?" Ursula asked.
"Battle? He's really that strong?" Gabriel continued to question.
"If we're lucky, his power is low," Dr. Z said. Suddenly, a long clang was heard as an indent on the door to the room they were all in from Johnathan's punch. "We're not lucky!"
Seth decided that this would be the perfect time for his silent escape. Johnathan then burst down the door to come face to face with Dr. Z, Ursula, Zander, Ed, and Gabriel.
"Hello, Johnathan. How've you been?" Dr. Z asked nervously. "Can I help you with something?"
"I have come here for Seth," the android stated. "Where is Seth?" Gabriel glanced behind him to see that Seth did just run off. Where was Seth?
Dr. Z growled. "Go, take him down!" Dr. Z ordered the old-school quartet, who just stood there unmoving. "Fine, then summon Terry and we'll have the dinosaur take him down!"
"We don't know where Terry is, remember?" Ursula asked the doctor.
"Then use Spiny, Tank, or Odis! Just do something quick!" Dr. Z screeched.
"I'd hate to resort to using force, so please, hand over your villain Seth," Johnathan told them
"I happen to love resorting to using force so with this!" Ursula said as she held an Alpha Scanner and a water affiliated dinosaur card in her hand. "Alpha Slash! Gush out, Spinosaurus!" Spiny appeared ready to fight the android.
Back at the D-Lab, Rod was busy coding away. Not many knew what he was actually doing, just that Rod was that it was important that he did so.
"Rod, you're great at this," Max complimented.
"Yeah, Max. Maybe you should take a lesson," Dr. Taylor told his son.
"So, what are you doing anyways?" Ren asked.
"Hacking the island's security," Rod replied. "And I did it! I shut down Zeta Point's force field!" Rod smiled to himself. Ren looked to the large map that the D-Lab had.
"Hey, look! A dinosaur just appeared where there's no land," she said.
"Then it's for sure Zeta Point," Laura said as she held Terry in her arms.
"Then, let's go!" Max said as he began to make his way towards the teleporter.
"I'm going too!" Rod stated.
"Sorry you need a dino holder to teleport with us, but you don't have one," Max told Rod.
"Not true. All you need is a stone like this one," Ren piped up as she pulled out her earth stone. "Even though mine has this fancy attachment onto it, all the dino holders get their power from these, but I know that the Alpha Scanners don't use the stones so, tough luck I guess."
"Wait, I have one of those," Rod said as he pulled out a compartment on the Alpha Scanner. "There are only two scanners that have the stones, but they can still summon any element of dinosaur regardless of the stone that's inside. But the dinosaurs that are summoned with the stones tend to be stronger and generally perform better than the ones that don't." Rod said as he pulled out the fire stone from his Alpha Scanner.
"So, if we have the Grass, Wind, Lightning, and Earth stones, and you said that there are two Alpha Scanners that have the stone, that means the Alpha Gang has the Fire and Water stones," Rex said.
"That's right!" Rod told them.
"Then then dinosaurs like Terry and Spiny are usually going to be stronger than other dinosaurs summoned by the Alpha Gang like Odis and Tank?" Zoe asked.
"Precisely," Rod confirmed.
"As long as the teleporter recognizes that stone, teleportation is possible," Reese said. "Could I take a look, Rod?" Rod walked over to Reese and handed her the stone.
"Here," he said as he handed it over.
"What about me?" Laura asked.
"You should stay here and help Terry get better, Laura," Rod gave his sister a brave smile.
"Okay," Laura nodded softly.
Spiny swung his tail at Johnathan, who deflected with a kick. Spiny then roared before charging at the android. Johnathan dodged Spiny's attack and then grabbed the Spinosaurus by the tail.
"I've got you by the tail now!" Johnathan proclaimed. He then threw Spiny by the tail at the Alpha Gang, who darted out of the way to avoid being crushed by the falling Spinosaurus.
"We're done," Zander sighed as the Alpha Gang all laid in a dogpile with Zander and Ed on top, follow by Ursula, followed by Gabriel, followed by Dr. Z.
"So's Spiny," Ed added.
"I'm still confused," Gabriel said.
"Quit your antics and come up with a plan!" Dr. Z yelled.
"How's this for a plan, run?!" Ursula suggested as Johnathan walked closer to them.
"Impossible!" Dr. Z roared. "I'm the king of this castle and I'm not just about to run from my own fortress.
"He's back!" Ursula squeaked upon seeing Johnathan standing over the dogpile. The Alpha Gang quickly sorted themselves out.
"Okay, okay!" Dr. Z finally begun to reason. "What do you want?"
"Please forgive me for the interruption, but as I said, I'm simply looking for the bad guy, Seth," Johnathan told them. The Alpha Gang was confused as to what Johnathan wanted with Seth.
Suddenly, a bright light appeared next to the Alpha Gang as the D-Team teleported and materialized. Rod was also with them.
"Rod?" Dr. Z asked.
"Grandpa!" Rod cheered.
"There's Johnathan!" Zoe exclaimed.
"I'm confused," Max said.
"You and me both," Ren muttered.
"Me too," Rex added.
"Hey, what do you know about Johnathan?" Dr. Z questioned the D-Team. "And Rod, what are you doing with these rats?"
"Grandpa, you're in danger!" Rod began to explain. "Seth has been keeping things from you and plotting things behind your back this entire time!"
"Plotting? What are you talking about?" Dr. Z asked his grandson.
"How dare!" Gabriel growled. "Seth is only helping Dr. Z!"
"I bet you're in on it too, Gabriel!" Max accused.
"Yeah!" Rod agreed. "Now that I think of it, you're always with Seth. The gig's up, what's he really up to?"
"I wouldn't know. Sure, I help him do things here and there, but he never tells me what they're for," Gabriel told the others.
"So, he's been playing you too," Ren told her classmate.
"What?" Gabriel asked.
"I'll explain everything," Rod said.
Helga was busy sweeping when the automatic doors to the room she was cleaning in opened up. Seth, accompanied by some Alpha Droids walked through.
"Oh no you don't! I just swept in here and you are not going to dirty my spotless floors! Now get back to studying!" Helga told Seth.
"I want you out of my way, Helga," Seth replied.
"Yeah, I know. But you have to study until I say that you are done," Helga said sternly. "Now get going."
Seth snapped his fingers and the Alpha Droids attacked Helga. However, the Alpha Droids were quickly stopped by the hot-tempered housemaid.
"Sending in your bullies to change my mind will not work, understand?" Helga asked Seth as she destroyed the Alpha Droids Seth had ordered to attack. Seth was surprised that even though Helga was acting off since Chinatown, she was still able to fend for herself against the Alpha Droids. Instead, Seth pulled out his stun cane and charged at Helga for a different flow of pace. The inventor made quick work as a simple touch was all that he needed. Helga began to smoke and crumbled to the ground by Seth's feet just as the door to the room opened. Dr. Z, Ursula, Zander, Ed, Rod, Gabriel, and the D-Team were all standing in a shocked state at what they just witnessed.
"What's going on?" Dr. Z asked as he rushed into the room. "And why on Earth would you hurt Helga?"
"Tell me what I've really been helping you with all this time!" Gabirel demanded.
"Tell me what you did to Terry to hurt him so bad!" Rod growled.
"I've been looked for you. You're the villain who stole my data from my memory banks!" Johnathan said and pointed to Seth. Everyone else looked to Johnathan in pure shock.
"So, what are you? A double agent?" Ursula asked.
"I can assure you, it's not what you think it is," Seth replied.
"What is it then? What are you after?" Dr. Z yelled his question.
"All I'm after is pure dinosaur science, Doctor," Seth told the old man. "I don't intend to waste my time chasing hopeless pipe dreams like yours."
"Hopeless pip dreams? My plans for the future are no such thing!" Dr. Z scowled.
"Wanting to create a dinosaur kingdom and rule it as the Dinosaur King? Tell me, what could be more hopeless than that?" Seth scoffed.
"He's got a point there," Max told Rex, Ren, and Zoe, who all nodded in agreement.
"Who asked you?" Dr. Z yelled at the D-Team.
"Hey brats, don't forgot you're the enemies of everyone else here," Ursula reminded.
"We're only here to try and help the dinosaurs, and that means stopping anybody who wants to hurt them!" Max said as he looked at Seth.
"Wait, so you guys weren't just trying to steal the dinosaur cards from Dr. Z because you just wanted them to yourselves?" Gabriel asked.
"Not even close," Ren replied.
Seth just chuckled to himself. "As usual, you're completely wrong. My goal with these experiments is to bring along the ultimate dinosaur evolutions, so it would do me no good to harm them."
"That's what you say, but what gives you the right to force any animal to evolve?" Max scowled at Seth.
"And who are you to decide what's good?" Rex added.
"What nerve you have to conduct experiments behind my back when I would've been happy to help if you had just come to me and ask from the beginning," Dr. Z said.
"Ok, so now I'm confused," Gabriel said as he scratched his head.
"Doctor, let's be honest here. Your specialty is stealing other scientists' work," Seth told Dr. Z. "If I had told you what I was working on, I would've ended up just like Dr. Ancient and Dr. Cretacia."
"Those names sound familiar," Max whispered to the rest of the D-Team.
"That's what Johnathan called Rex and Ren!" Zoe whispered back. The D-Team then looked over to Johnathan, who then looked back at them, then at Dr. Z and Seth.
"It seems like you are done talking, so I would like to get what I came here for," Johnathan said. "I would like to retrieve the data that this villain stole from me."
"Oh no you don't!" Dr. Z said as he pulled out an Alpha Scanner and a dinosaur card. "Alpha slash! Gush out, Spinosaurus!"
"Now, I'm more confused. Wasn't Ursula the one with Spi-" Gabriel said before getting cut off.
"I'm joining this too!" Rod said as he held up his Alpha Scanner. "Alpha slash! Shake 'em up, Saichainia!" (A/N: can I just say that this is a cannon thing though we clearly see that Rod has the fire stone earlier? More proof that the Alpha Scanners don't need the stones)
"Alright, let's do this!" Gabriel was as he unclips his Alpha Scanner from his belt. "Alpha slash! Olorotion, let's mow these weeds!" All three of the Alpha Gang dinosaurs that were eligible for battle stood in front of Seth, ready to take down the scum that was playing them all.
"Now, Tank, Odis, and Spiny! Show Seth what we do to traitors!" Dr. Z ordered.
"Come on, surely you don't think I'm defenseless here," Seth said as he pulled out a new Alpha Scanner and a different card. As the dinosaur began to appear on the field, Seth revealed what it was. "Saurophaganax!"
"Odis, Spiny, and Tank, go crush him now," Dr. Z said with confidence. The three named dinosaurs charged at the Saurophaganax.
"As usual, you're in over your head, Dr. Z," Seth stated. "Observe a new super move I just perfected."
"A super move that I don't know about?" Dr. Z asked.
"I didn't help you with any super move," Gabriel said. "You're bluffing."
"We'll see about that," Seth said as he pulled out the move card and slashed it in the Alpha Scanner. "I forced Saurophaganax into premature evolution so he could master this move. Behold! Fire Scorcher!" The Saurophaganax began to glow red as flames began to circle around him. A ball of magma began to form in Saurophaganax's mouth before launching it at Odis, Spiny, and Tank. The heat that was generated from the move was so intense that everybody in the room had to shield themselves from it. The move hit and the three dinosaurs immediately transformed back into their cards.
"Huh?" Rod said.
"Is that even allowed?" Gabriel asked.
"No this can't be!" Dr. Z exclaimed.
"Let's get out of here! Grab those cards!" Ursula said.
"I've got Spiny!" Zander said as he picked up the Spinosaurus card.
"I've got Tank!" Ed said as he scooped up the Saichainia card.
"I've got Odis!" Gabriel said as he grabbed the Olorotitan card.
"This isn't over, Seth!" Dr. Z said as he, Ursula, Zander, and Ed began to run.
"Grandpa!" Rod called after them before he followed.
"Wait for me too!" Gabriel called and he started after them.
"Wait, Gabriel!" Ren said, stopping the boy in his tracks. "You're still going to side with them after knowing everything?"
"I... I just need some time to think," Gabriel said before he turned his back and followed the rest of the Alpha Gang. With that, the D-Team was alone with Seth and the Saurophaganax.
"Are you ready you guys?" Max asked.
"The four of us together!" Zoe affirmed.
"Right!" Rex chimed in.
"Let's do this!" Ren added.
"Dino slash!" all four of the kids chimed, including Ren. Ren said previously that if they ever to a large battle together like this again that she would say "dino slash" with the rest of them.
"Go, Triceratops! ROAR!" Max yelled.
"Spring up, Parasuaurolophus!" Zoe hollered.
"Carnotaurus, blow them away!" Rex called.
"Let's rock and roll, Stegosaurus!" Ren shouted. The four D-Team dinosaurs were now on the battlefield and ready to go.
"All together now," Max said as the four kids began to select move cards. Max with Thunder Bazooka, Zoe with Stomping Hammer, Rex with Cyclone, and Ren with Spike Arrows.
"Good luck. Now feel Fire Scorcher!" Seth called as his swiped his move card before the D-Team. The same firey move activated. Saurophaganax launched the ball of magma at the four D-Team dinosaurs. Chomp, Paris, Ace, and Ebony all thudded to the ground one after the other. All four defeated and returned to their cards just like that. The battle was over before it truly began.
The D-Team was seemingly frozen in shock as the Saurophaganax roared victorious. That was until Rex rushed out to get the cards.
"Rex, come back, it's too dangerous!" Max called.
"You chicken? I'm going to help!" Ren said as she ran to join her brother. Ren picked up Chomp and Ebony's cards while Rex had Paris and Ace's cards. The pair of siblings looked up to see the Saurophaganax looming over them, ready to attack.
However, Johnathan rushed in, throwing both siblings over his shoulders. From the sudden grab, Rex dropped his dino holder, and Ren dropped her stone.
"Don't worry Master Rex and Mistress Ren, Johnathan will protect you!" the android said. Then siblings looked at each other, truly confused.
"Master?" Rex asked.
"Mistress?" Ren added. Max then picked up Rex's dino holder and Ren's stone as Johnathan fled with the Owen siblings.
"Where are you taking them?" Max asked.
"Max, look out!" Zoe called. Thanks to Zoe's call, Max was barely able to dodge an incoming attack from Saurophaganax. "Come on! Come on!" Zoe continued to call for Max. Max rushed to his teammate who was holding the automatic door open for him. Max slipped through the door and the two waited for it to shut as the Saurophaganax raced closer to them. The door shut just in the nick of time.
Max and Zoe made their way outside of the Alpha Gang's base onto the sand beach of the island. They glanced around. They were safe, for now.
"So, where do you think Ren and Rex went?" Max asked Zoe.
"Johnathan was carrying them. I hope they made it out okay," Zoe replied. The sound of an Alpha Gang ship could be heard. Max and Zoe looked in the direction of the ship. They spotted Johnathan, Rex, and Ren all inside.
"There they are!" Max exclaimed.
"They're all fine!" Zoe said with a sigh of relief. "Let's teleport back to the D-Lab and meet them there." Max nodded in agreement. Before the two kids could teleport back, the whole island made to shake. Max and Zoe fell onto their hands and knees. Before they knew it, the island was floating in the air.
"This island's lifting up!" Max exclaimed. Rocks began to fall and sank flowed off of the island into the ocean below.
"Let's get off before it's too late, Max!" Zoe told her teammate as she rose to her feet and began to press buttons on her dino holder.
"Yeah!" Max agreed as he also stood up with his dino holder in hand. The two D-Team kids teleported away just as the island transformed from being an island to an entire ship.
"Rex, look!" Ren said as she pushed her face against the glass of the jet from the backseat. She was pointing down at the island that they were just on.
"I can't believe it," Rex said with awe. "The island just turned into some kind of spacecraft!"
