The castle sat upon a hill on the outskirts of town surrounded by sallow trees. The darkness of the forest shielded the crumbling structure from roaming eyes. The building wasn't much on the eye. It might have once been magnificent, but years of use and heavy storms had taken their tow. However, within the doors of the dark ruin sat treasures worth more than one can imagine. A long time ago, the sun might've shined on this glorious structure filled with wondrous heirlooms. Now the sun had set, leaving only eternal night.
"Are you hungry master?" Emotionless and still, a voice rang out through the cold chambers. Soft porcelain fingers gently massaged at the man's broad shoulders, slowly smoothing out the knots with an expert's grace and firmness.
"Hmm, not really." He opened his eyes, dark red pupils glistering in the dim candlelight. The light shifted as he rested his cold, scarred hand on top of warmness of his servant's. "Sit with me." He asked softly, lightly tugging at the boy's doll like hands. Without a word, the boy complied, settling upon the man's lap.
The two sat there, one deformed while the other a vision of perfection. Horrible burns covered the man's hands, an unspoken story of tragedy. His face wrapped in bandages, showing only his lips and piercing crimson eyes. On his lap is a doll. The boy sat straight, his face emotionless. He hardly moved, expect for the delicate fall and rise of his chest. Dark red hair matching his master's eyes flowed down his back like a waterfall of blood, tied back with a simple blue indigo ribbon. His skin a pearly completion, as white as the virgin snow brought out the violet gems that are his eyes.
"Shinta" The man sighed, his breath creating translucent white wisps in the cold air. Wrapping his arms around the petite boy, he cradled the boy as if he was worth more than life. "Shinta, tell me you love me. Please, look at me and tell me 'I love you'"
The boy turned, violet met red as he stared at his master. "I love you." His voice gentle, ringing in the man's ears like of melody made up of twinkling crystal bells.
"And I you Shinta." He smiled with content, drawing the boy into his chest, "we'll stay here, happy, forever."
