Chapter 52 – Brotherly love

"Come on, buddy", Mitsuhiro said as he got up from the floor from his knees. Inuyasha twitched his ears and got up from the bed. They walked to the kitchen. Sesshomaru had already sat down, but not eaten yet. He might seem like a cold person, but he was very polite.

After everyone had sat down, Sesshomaru dished out the noodle soup. He also gave chopsticks to Mitsuhiro and Inuyasha... But Inuyasha just held them in his both hands, not knowing what to do. He just started gnawing on them.

"Hm?" Sesshomaru raised his eyebrow. "Don't tell me..."

"Yeah..." Mitsuhiro sighed. "He has never eaten with chopsticks since he came to the hospital, only spoons and forks..."

"I see."

"Would you perhaps have any cutlers?"

"Only a few spoons. So, what can we do?" Sesshomaru wondered out loud.

"I know", Mitsuhiro said, grabbed his chopsticks, took some noodels with them and started doing something they did very often back at the hospital – feeding him.

Sesshomaru said nothing as he saw his teen brother being fed. Yes, he DID know he was fed sometimes, but seeing it... It was a bit unpleasant.

Suddenly Mitsuhiro's eyes widened. He got up from his chair.

"Just a second", he said and walked away. Both Inuyasha and his brother watched him go, then turning to themselves. And soon Mitsuhiro came with a small pouch. He poured four pills out of it.

"What is that?" Sesshomaru asked.

"Inuyasha's medicine", Mitsuhiro answered. "Inuyasha, have your milk."

And so Inuyasha took his milk glass and swallowed the pills.

"Have I misunderstood that back there in the hospital give him his medicine by needles..." the dog demon mumbled.

"Well, yes, sedatives", Mitsuhiro nodded. "But this is an anti-psychotic, which we only give by pills and liquid orally."

"So he won't pass out in a few minutes?"

"No, no, don't worry."

It was getting late. Mitsuhiro and Sesshomaru have been sitting in the living room's sofa, talking about Inuyasha.

And what did Inuyasha do? He wandered around the apartment. The bathroom, kitchen, Sesshomaru's and father's rooms... and then, his own. Slowly he opened that room's door and peeked in.

The room was dark, blinds being closed. He saw his bed. It was covered with his quilt, and a few plush toys. He walked to the bed and sat down. His ears went drooping. You couldn't say it looked like it was when he sat there last time, eight years ago. He couldn't remember anything. The boy laid down on his back, put his hands under his head and closed his eyes, sighing. If he only could go back in time. So that everything could go different. While actually, Inuyasha didn't know what he has been missing. He has

spent half of his whole in hospital. Maybe it's better he doesn't know.

The duo were still talking in the living room, when suddenly Mitsuhiro looked at his watch.

"Now what?" Sesshomaru asked.

"Inuyasha's evening medicine..." Mitsuhiro took the small medicine pouch from his pocket.

"Inuyasha!" the man called out as he was holding the medicine pouch. "Inuyasha, where are you?"

Inuyasha came out from his room.

"Come to the kitchen, let's get some water."

So Mitsuhiro poured the pills from the pouch... but he seemed a bit surprised.

"Is something wrong?" Sesshomaru asked as he walked to the kitchen.

"Not really..." Mitsuhiro said while giving the boy the pills and a glass of water. He swallowed them. "... It's just that we are almost out of medicine... There's only left for tomorrow morning."

Sesshomaru looked at his brother.

"What should we do...?" Mitsuhiro thought.

"Leave Inuyasha here with me, drive to Kuroshima, get medicine with you and come back here."

"... This is something I have to consult the doctor. I'll call her right away!"

And so Mitsuhiro took his phone from his leather jacket's pocket, putting it against his ear...

"Hi, it's Mitsuhiro", he said. "...No, he is still in coma... No, nobody know when... or if. But the reason I called you is this: we are out of Clozapine. But Sesshomaru suggested that I come there and get the medicine... They would wait for me before going to the hospital, yes... What do you think? Of course I can do it... That's great! I'll be there tomorrow for the medicine. Okay, good. Bye!"

Mitsuhiro walked to the kitchen, when the canine brothers sat.

"Okay now, things got arranged. I'll got back to the hospital right tomorrow morning for the medicine, and I'll be back here in maybe three hours. Then we will go to see your father in the hospital. Okay?"

"All right."

The night was calm. Everyone slept in different rooms. Inuyasha and Sesshomaru in their own, Mitsuhiro in Inutaisho's.

Morning came. Sesshomaru was the first to wake up, starting to make some coffee. He set the table with bread and toppings, and something he knew his little brother would like more – chocolate cereal.

Unlike you might think, Mitsuhiro was the last to get up, as Inuyasha woke up by smelling the coffee. Not that he ever drank it – but dad did. That's why he liked the smell.

Mitsuhiro walked to the kitchen.

"Good morning", Sesshomaru greeted, not even looking towards Mitsuhiro.

"Morning!" the man smiled.

"Have some breakfast."

Mitsuhiro sat down and made a few sandwiches for himself. And Inuyasha? He had poured his bowl full with chocolate cereal and milk... But this was something he remembered – that bowl. He used to eat all his cereal and porridge from when he was very little, before going to hospital.

Mitsuhiro had to get on his way. While he was putting on his jacket, Inuyasha stared at him from a few meters away, ears drooping a bit. Mitsuhiro notified this.

"Aw buddy, I'll be back in no time", the man smiled and ruffled the boy's hair. "Take care of your big brother" he winked and left the apartment.

SLAM! the door closed, leaving deep silence behind. First Sesshomaru turned his eyes at his brother, and after a while of staring, Inuyasha too turned at him.

"So", Sesshomaru said. "What should we do while Mitsuhiro returns?"

At first Inuyasha just stood still, but suddenly he walked to the door and started putting his shoes on.

"You mean we should go out?"¨Sesshomaru raised his brow. Inuyasha didn't answer in any way, concentrating on the shoes. Sesshomaru sighed and started putting on his own shoes. And soon Inuyasha opened the door, and the brothers walked out from the apartment.

"The elevator or stai-", Sesshomaru was about to say, but Inuyasha interrupted him by jumping down the stairhead agilely, disappearing in the floor below.

"Right", Sesshomaru sighed, following his brother, walking the stairs taking his time.

Inuyasha was waiting for his brother to come from the staircase. And as he appeared, the boy opened the door and walked outside... but didn't keep the door open for his brother. But Sesshomaru wasn't offended. He followed Inuyasha walking to the playground. Oh yes, there were jungle gyms, a sandbox, a slide... But the thing Inuyasha was looking for were the swings. Inuyasha sat down in one, starting to swing slowly. He stared at his big brother for a while. The man just stood still, quiet, ëxpressionless. This made Inuyasha a bit pissed – he bared his fangs and growled.

"Now what?" Sesshomaru grunted. Then Inuyasha stopped the swing, reached to the other swing next to him, and pet it. Sesshomaru got it, but wasn't really in the mood. But then the boy punched the swing.

"Alright, alright", Sesshomaru sighed and sat down. Now Inuyasha stopped growling. The brothers started swinging. After a while, Sesshomaru turned towards Inuyasha – the boy was smiing his eyes closed. This was weird, Sesshomaru thought. But that made himself smile – weird too.

As wonderful as this swing-session was, of course something had to ruin it all. A group of four teens boys, Inuyasha's age, stopped their bikes on the other side of the playground.

"Lookit that half-breed!" shouted one of the boys behind the canine duo in the swing. Both turned at them – Sesshomaru expressionless, Inuyasha enraged. He started growling, got up from the swing, starting to approach the boys. They seemed to get a bit scared.

"Inuyasha!" Sesshomaru shouted, grabbing his arm. "You imbeciles should really get lost!"

Inuyasha started shouting. This made the boys ride away with their bikes. For a while Inuyasha was panting and drooling in his brother's arms. Now the man did something he had never done before – he started stroking Inuyasha's hair. When Inuyasha calmed down, they got back to their apartment.

"I know you like ramen. But we can't always have it. This time I will make what father would like – in case he comes home. I'm making Houtou."

Inuyasha waited at the food boiling, sitting at the table. Neither said anything. And when the soup was finally finished, Sesshomaru dished it out in two cups and gave the other to Inuyasha. Sesshomaru sat next to him, with two pairs of chopsticks – he had got ready for this. Feeding his brother.

"You really should learn how to eat with chopsticks", the man sighed as he fed the boy. "I understand you can't do it if you are wearing a straitjacket, but it is not that hard."

After both had finished their food, Sesshomaru put them in the dish washer. Then suddenly he said:

"Do not tell Mitsuhiro about those idiots back at the playground. Especially that you got a little upset."

Mitsuhiro had got the medicine, and was already on his way to Kita's.

It was about 3 PM when Mitsuhiro arrived at their apartment house's parking lot and left his car there. He got in and took the elevator up to the fifth floor, ringing the doorbell. Sesshomaru opened the door...

"Hi there", Mitsuhiro greeted and got in. "Okay now, young man", he called out. Inuyasha slowly slouched to the men in the hallway. Mitsuhiro went to the kitchen, got a glass of water and handed it over to Inuyasha. Then he got something from his pocket – a whole jar of the anti-psychotic, Clozapine. He poured four pills and gave it to the boy.

"So, Sesshomaru. Have things gone well? Is Inuyasha in good enough shape to go see your father?"

"Of course. We can leave right now."
