In Miradero, Lucky was walking through town.
"Hello, Lucky, where are you heading?" asked Maricela who approached with a small child holding her hand.
"To the stables, Juieta and Grace are supposed to be back from their ride soon, so I wanted to go show them what we got in the mail," said Lucky.
"Did you get a letter?" asked Maricela.
"Sure did," said Lucky with a smile.
"Well then, I had better let you go but hope we can talk more," said Maricela.
"Same, madam mayor," said Lucky as she waved, and they went their own way. Over at the stables the girls were combing their horses down.
"That was such a fun ride," said Julieta, who looked like Lucky but with brown eyes instead of hazel and a blonde frosted tips to her brown hair.
"You always say that," said Grace with a laugh. She was a young black girl with amber eyes.
"Well, I guess I have a great riding partner," said Julieta as she leaned in to give Grace a kiss to the cheek.
"Ahem," came a voice from behind them, making the two jump apart slightly.
"Mom, you scared us to death," said Julieta while turning to see Lucky standing in the doorway.
"And I thought Pru and I told you two to be careful of your surroundings when you go to do stuff like that," said Lucky.
"Sorry, ma'am, we got caught up in the moment," said Grace while she blushed.
"It's alright, Grace," said Lucky as she gave the girls a friendly smile.
"I was a teen once too, so I know what it's like to want to kiss the one you're dating," she said.
"By the way, what brought you here, mom?" asked Julieta who wanted to change the topic to something else.
"We got a letter from your father," said Lucky as she held up an envelope.
"Really?!" asked an excited Julieta.
