"What does the letter say?" asked Grace while the three sat down on a hay bale in the corner of the barn in order to read it.

"Says that his latest mission was a success, and he thinks the war may end soon," said Lucky.

"That's great, I can't wait to see him again," said Julieta.

"Same, we haven't heard from my dad in weeks," said Grace.

"But I'm kind of worried about how they'll act when they learn about us once they are back," she said while looking over at Julieta.

"I'm sure the two of them will understand, things around Miradero have always been different," said Lucky.

"Not this different," said Julieta with a nervous chuckle.

"You two don't have anything to worry about when it comes to your dads, I promise," said Lucky while placing a reassuring hand on each of their shoulders.

"They are always more accepting than others around them," she said.

"Thanks, Mrs. Prescott, and I hope that's true," said Grace as she and Julieta hugged her.

"You're welcome, now then," said Lucky while standing up.

"We all should be heading home, it's almost dinner time after all," she said while looking down at her watch.

"Right, and I'll make sure to let my mom know about Javier's letter," said Grace.

"Hopefully you'll get a letter from Sahir soon with good news too," said Lucky. A couple of minutes later, Grace was walking into her house.

"I'm home," said Grace.

"Welcome back," said Pru who came out of the kitchen with an apron on as she was just finishing up making dinner.

"Did you and Julieta have a fun time?" she asked.

"We did, and then Mrs. Prescott showed up at the barn with a letter," said Grace.

"Looks like both of our houses got lucky then," said Pru while holding up an envelope with a big smile.

"Dad wrote us?!" asked a surprised and happy Grace.

"He did, and he said that they should be back in a few months if everything goes well," said Pru.
