Three days after the letter had arrived, Lucky and Julieta were at the train station going over paperwork in the operation booth.

"When my dad was in charge, I never realized how much paperwork there was," said Lucky.

"Most of these are thanks to new laws and businesses using the rails," said Julieta while flipping through papers and picking out the ones that Lucky needed to look at urgently.

"But if anyone can get used to it, it would be you, Lucky," said Jim as he walked into the room with Katherine and a young woman.

"What are you all doing here?" asked Lucky while standing to hug the three.

"I thought your train was not due in till this evening?" she asked.

"We got an earlier one to surprise you," said the woman.

"Well, I'm surprised, sis," said Lucky.

"And how is my favorite niece doing?" asked Polly as she looked over at Julieta who was just putting the stack of papers down on the desk.

"I'm your only niece, and I'm doing fine," said Julieta who was smiling as she walked over to hug her.

"So, tell me truthfully," said Polly.

"You have a boyfriend yet?" she asked.

"Polly," said Jim.

"What, I'm just curious about how things are since we live so far away and hardly hear anything from them," said Polly.

"You didn't have to come to California with us," said Katherine.

"And miss out on all of the fun out there?" asked Polly with an appalled expression.

"It's alright, I don't mind her question," said Julieta.

"The answer to which is no, I don't have a boyfriend and in fact I'm not looking for one," she said.

"Oh well, it's never too late," said Polly.

"Okay, how about we go to the house so you all can settle in, Julieta you were supposed to meet up with your friends later but why don't you go ahead and head over?" asked Lucky.

"If you're sure that you all don't need my help," said Julieta.

"No, we should be fine," said Jim.
