Even though he might act bothered, Karl didn't really mind being the person who drove the Dimitrescus everywhere. (Well, all he did was build the carriage. He had an excellently trained Lycan driving.) He enjoyed being able to see his favorite nieces, and though he would never admit it, he liked seeing his sister as well. Even though she's an arrogant prick, she gives good advice and is a great listener. Not as good as Donna- and there I go thinking about her again. Goddammit. To distract himself from his thoughts about the dollmaker, he did his best to answer Seline's many questions. "What does the reservoir look like? Does Uncle Salvatore live there? Can I come visit your factory one day?" Karl gave the answers to the first two easily, but the last question gave him pause. Would she be able to come visit? I mean, I would absolutely love some company. But I'd have to hide some of my experiments, and she definitely can't know about my Miranda plan… Not that there's much of a plan anyways. "You'd have to get your mother to agree, which'll definitely be hard. If it took her a month to allow Cassandra to visit me, it'll take even longer to convince her to let you come. But you'll love my factory!" Karl went off on yet another tangent about his factory. But this time, his heart wasn't really in his words. He was still thinking over the logistics of having Seline visit. I guess it's getting a little lonely. Okay, a lot lonely.. But isn't that what I signed up for? I think being alone is a fair price to pay for doing whatever I want. It's better that way. Besides, nobody would even want to stay with me in the factory… "Uncle Karl? Are you alright? You look kinda sad…" Karl internally cursed. Daniela's rubbing off on her. "I'm fine, Selly. No need to worry." She gave him a surprisingly serious look. "Y'know, it's alright not to be fine sometimes." He didn't know why, but that really pissed him off. Maybe it was that he had too much on his mind, maybe he was just worried about the kid, but he lashed out. "Why don't you follow your own fucking advice?! All I ever do is see you smile! You can be not-fine too!" Instantly, Karl realized that you do NOT curse at a child (certain situations apply, I guess) and tried to take it back. "I mean-sorry-I-um-er-" He struggled to form an actual sentence. "I didn't mean to curse. But I did mean what I said." Seline, who had gone completely quiet, looked up at him. "You're always smiling and helping us, kid. But you can have stuff that you're worried about and we can help with." Karl was pretty impressed with himself. "…You're right, Uncle Karl." Oh, I can't WAIT to hold this over Allie's head. "So, is there anything bothering you?" Seline nervously fidgeted with her hands. She wasn't used to talking about herself, but she didn't want to disappoint her uncle. "Well… I want to make everyone something. Sorta like a reverse birthday present? All of you have done so much for me, and I want to give you all something back." Karl ruffled her hair. "You just being you is the best present you could give us." Suddenly, he realized something. "What do you mean, reverse birthday present?" Seline shrugged. "Well, I first started working at Castle Dimitrescu on my birthday, and it's nearly been a year, so that means it'll be my birthday soon! Hey, Uncle Karl, when's your birthday?" Karl didn't answer her question (not that he knew when his birthday was) because he was too busy thinking over what her birthday party would be like. "Hey Selly, random question, what's your favorite type of cake?" She took the time to think about it. "I dunno, the only cake I've ever had was the cupcakes that Auntie Donna made." Karl's mind was absolutely blown. "THAT WAS YOUR FIRST CAKE?! HOW DID YOU EVEN SURVIVE BEFORE THEN?!" Seline didn't think it was that big of a deal, but apparently it was. "THIS IS MY LIFE'S MISSION! I, KARL MIDDLE NAME HEISENBERG WILL SHOW YOU THE BEAUTY OF CAKE!"

After that absurd proclamation, and also after Karl had finished composing a giant list of all the sweets that Seline needed to try, they were very close to the reservoir. "Alright, so just be careful of all the fish in the water. Hey, if you're lucky, you'll see the phantom fish!" Seline looked out of the window. "What does the phantom fish look like?" Karl shrugged, realizing he had no clue. "I dunno, but Moreau knows. Ask him when you see him! And speaking of seeing him, here we are! Are you ready?" Seline nodded happily. "Thanks for the ride, Uncle Karl! Love you!" She hopped out, leaving him to awkwardly wave after her. "Er… Love you too." Those words still felt strange for him to say. He never thought that there would be anyone to say them to. What's that thing that Alcina says? Lucrurile se vor schimba în bine, or something like that? 'Things will change for the better.' Guess that's true after all. But doesn't that mean that just as easily, things can change for the worse? Lucrurile se pot schimba în rău. God, I can't believe Allie made all of us learn Romanian just because we're supposedly living in Romania. I don't even know where the village is. Not like it matters, anyways. Miranda would never let us live anywhere else. I don't really care, but I feel bad for Cass and Bela. Those two want to go places. But if you're related to that bitch Miranda, you're not going anywhere. Why am I even thinking about this? I wonder what Selly's doing. The answer to that question was being distracted. Seline really wanted to see the phantom fish, just to tell her uncle that she had. Meanwhile, Salvatore was anxiously waiting for his niece when he noticed a tiny figure staring into the water. While his senses definitely weren't as good as Alcina's, he was able to tell it was Seline. But what is she doing? Did something fall into the water? He slowly walked to the lift that Karl had installed to make it easier for him to make his way around the reservoir. Making sure that he wouldn't throw up, he went down to where she was staring in the water. "What're you looking for?" He realized too late that he might have surprised her, and Seline jumped and fell into the water. Luckily it was only a few inches deep, but she was still pretty wet. "Hi, Uncle Salvatore…"

(A/N: Totally didn't Google Translate for the Romanian, couldn't be me! Also, Seline's canon birthday is now May 15th, because that's National Chocolate Chip Day. There is literally no other reason except for that. Also also, do you all want a Discord server? Because I could totally make one.)
