A night in the town. While some live quite comfortably with happy lives, others have the not so fortunate pleasure to thrive. We lay our scene here where we see two teenage girls who are both on the run hide in an alleyway as the sun sets.
A Slavic immigrant and notorious train hopper named Billie and a dark-haired girl named Franny with the odd aspiration to form her own frog orchestra. The two make a stop in the alley, tired and hungry.
"That was a close one." Billie huffed, trying to catch her breath.
"Should've known that my parents would file a missing persons report to the police…" Franny sighed, barely able to stand up from all the running.
"Well we better be more careful on who we can trust." Billie said as she went to the wall and leaned on it. "We have no idea at this point who is after us and who isn't."
"I know…" Franny said in a breath.
"All we can do now is see how far we go until they find us."
Franny was already regretting her decision to run away with Billie. She missed her home, and she wished she had convinced her brothers, Gaston and Art, to come with her as well. The box she was holding contained her collection of frogs. She couldn't keep them in the box for too long or else they would die, and that wouldn't be good. At the same time though, travelling with them in a proper tank would be very difficult. That is why they need to find a place where they can stay for a long period of time pretty soon.
"We both know how angry they get when you do something wrong." Billie murmured "We will need to prepare for that moment when they do."
"This was a terrible idea, Billie! Why did you have us run away like that?" Franny shrieked "I can't do this. I can't-"
"Franny…"
"I-"
"Franny-chan, calm down. It will be okay." Billie muttered, taking Franny's hand in a reassuring manner. "Know that I will always be there for you."
Franny looked down at her hand which was locked with Billie's hand. She looked away with a red blush on her face. Billie also looked at their hands, blushing as well.
"We should probably get a move on before they find us." Billie suggested
"Yeah. We probably should." Franny agreed
"I know a place where we can hide."
