Thank you Reviewbruh, Root A, Carla, and any other guest that wrote a review! I love reading the words you were kind enough to type out, and would like to take a quick moment to address a question I got.

Carla, thank you so much for reading! As for your request for making this story a Etoken fic, I wouldn't be opposed to that possibility! I can totally see Haise and Eto becoming closer, and even Haise fulfilling Kaneki's promise to Kuzen about saving Eto.

Again, thank you for taking the time out of your day to read this story, and I'm always open to requests and suggestions!

Author's notes will be at the end.

"Oi! Kaneki! Uppy-uppy!" A voice shrouded by a white noise called out, as Haise felt his consciousness returning to him. The voice belonged to that of a highly energetic child, from what Haise could make out as he struggled to keep his eyes open.

Feeling a split second of intense pain awakening him from his slumber, Haise's recent memories of him being blinded by a bright light before being shot several times in the chest were returning to him, yet they seemed unusually fuzzy and hard to remember.

Opening his eyes, Haise felt lethargic and confused as he was met with the sight of a bright sunny blue sky, rather than being greeted by anything that remotely resembled the interior of the Luna Eclipse's parking lot.

Without even moving his lips, a different voice of a child escaped from his own throat. "Hide… It… It hurts a lot…!" A voice belonging to the same haunting white-haired child that plagued his consciousness. Except, rather than seeing him as a different persona or some sort of manifestation within his head, Haise was actually seeing what he slowly figured out to be a memory being played out like a movie before him.

It was a memory belonging to Kaneki.

While still laying on the field of grass that tickled his arms and legs, Haise watched through the child version of Kaneki's eyes as a blonde child who he presumed to be 'Hide' came into his view.

"Hmm… You got a bit of a bloody nose, but… Hey, other than that, you look right as rain to me!" Hide said optimistically, after taking a moment to stare down at Kaneki with a pair of golden-brown eyes that were radiating with happiness.

"But Hide… That ball hit me really, really hard…!" Kaneki continued to whine while sounding on as though he were on the verge of tears. This somewhat pitiful display didn't seem to phase the young blonde boy in the slightest.

"Nonsense, Kaneki! It just looks a lot worse than it actually is! Besides, you ALMOST caught that baseball that time like a champ!" Hide said cheerfully, before beginning to kneel down to put his hands on Kaneki.

"Here… Let me just make sure you're sitting up, so none of that nasty red stuff gets in your throat…!" Hide said with a motivated twinkle in his youthful eyes, as he carefully helped Kaneki up from the ground before gently escorting him over to a nearby shady tree.

The school yard around them had various children minding their own business, while a few who had witnessed Kaneki getting a ball accidentally thrown into his face were already on their way to alert their teacher; an observation that didn't go by Hide's radar.

"Great… I'm probably gonna get in trouble… Oh well, I'll just tell them it was an accident! They know I wouldn't do anything to hurt you on purpose," Hide reasoned to Kanek, before lowering his friend against the trunk of the tree.

"Remember… Just try to lean forward so none of that gunk gets in your throat, okay Kaneki? I'll be right back; I'm gonna go explain myself to the teachers before they come storming out here all angry like…" Hide said reassuringly to Kaneki, who seemed too choked-up to give him anything else but a nod in response. "... I know it hurts a lot, bud, but… You're a lot stronger than you think! You're the kind of guy who can push through anything! I know you got this, Kaneki!"

Before leaving Kaneki alone underneath the shaded tree, Hide gave his young best friend two thumbs up before turning back around to head toward where Haise presumed to be his classroom door.

Underneath the comforting shade of the tree that Hide had caringly carried Kaneki over to, Haise watched through the young child's eyes as he lowered his gaze down toward the blades of flowing grass dance in the wind.

Closing his eyes as his soft cries slowly diminished into small whimpers before finally becoming silent, the world around Kaneki became black before Haise felt one last jolt of pain.

In that instant, a light shining in the darkness exploded into an eruption of colors within Haise's vision, and like the creation of the universe through the big bang, the world around him began to form.

"... Sensei! Sensei, are you awake...?!" A voice that Haise slowly began to recognize as belonging to Mutsuki called out to him through his recovering eardrums.

Haise's right eyelid felt heavier than it ever did, but he did his best to focus on the small pen-light being shined into his eye as Mutsuki stared at him through bloodshot eyes. From what he could tell, Mutsuki had appeared to be crying, but overall had a professional and calm demeanor that Haise couldn't help but to feel proud of.

"Mutsuki… W-Where's your eyepatch?" Haise couldn't help but to ask out loud through his cracked and bruised lips, after needing a few seconds to realize that Mutsuki wasn't wearing the black eyepatch that he had gotten for Christmas.

"Sensei…!"

"Thank God…! Sassan! Sassan!"

"MAMAN!"

Rather than receiving a simple answer for his inquiry, Haise's question was answered in the form of being hugged by Mutsuki, Shirazu, and Saiko, with the latter uncontrollably sobbing tears of joy and relief into what remained of his torn shoulder.

Or atleast, he figured that they were hugging him. It was really hard for Haise to tell, because he couldn't exactly physically feel whether or not they had their arms around his body or not.

"Maman, I-I'm so sorry! Saiko didn't know it was you! I-I didn't know! I didn't know…!" Saiko babbled out as she bawled into his half-torn left ear that bled slowly down whatever cartilage was still left clinging to the side of his burnt face.

After getting his fill of embracing the man who he thought to be dead, it wasn't long until Shirazu noticed just how confused and disoriented his squad leader was. Deciding to step up as the squad's deputy, Shirazu was the first one to his feet to begin gently ushering his friends off of Haise.

"Okay, okay…! T-That's enough; give Sassan some room to breathe," Shirazu ordered as calmly as he could, before taking a moment to wipe his eyes and nose into his coat's sleeve. After clearing up his nostrils enough for him to somewhat take a breath in, the deputy shifted his gaze over from Haise toward Mutsuki.

"Mutsuki, I need you to go… Go back to that security guard we found behind that one fancy looking Mercedes. I think that guy was a ghoul, so um… B-Bring back his arms. Haise's gonna need to eat something," Shirazu ordered with a bit of squeamish hesitation in his voice.

Even as disoriented as he was, Haise could easily tell that Shirazu wasn't fond of the idea of dismembering a body for the act of cannibalism.

Mutsuki, on the other hand, didn't seem bothered with his instructions, and gave Shirazu a quick nod before running out of Haise's limited vision. Soon after he watched Mutsuki sprint away toward wherever the body of the security guard was, it was then that Haise wondered why he couldn't see out of his left eye.

While Saiko held him as she seemed to scream at Shirazu, refusing to leave Haise's side, the squad leader struggled to bring what he figured to be his still working hand up to his eye level.

Unable to comprehend the words that were being exchanged between the two quinxes, thanks to his concussion making the ringing in his ears and headache intensify, Haise simply stared down at what was left of his left hand.

His pinky and ring finger had been blown completely off with the explosion, and his middle finger was just a bloodied stump. Too tired and disoriented to panic, Haise remained indifferent to his mutilated hand's condition, and began to slowly trace his finger and thumb around his face.

While his thumb had lost all feeling in it, Haise's index finger still had some feeling in certain parts of his finger tip. After slowly tracing his cutted-up and bloodied face, Haise silently took note of a sharp-chunk of shrapnel that was still lodged in his forehead that absent-mindedly reminded him of a horn.

Further tracing of his finger along his face revealed to him the whereabouts of Mutsuki's eyepatch. Judging by the discovery of his left eye socket being completely hollow and squishy, Haise came to the conclusion that his underling was the one who gave the eyepatch back to him to wear, before using the discarded defibrillator that laid out in the open beside where Haise's left kneecap used to be.

'... How the hell did I even get this far?' Haise wondered to himself with a sense of morbid curiosity, as he looked past his ripped up pant leg to take notice that his right foot had been severed, and was left as a blacked stump from the explosion that nearly killed him.

'What was I even doing here…? Why am I in a parking lot…?' Haise continued to pounder to himself in a desperate attempt of trying to retrace his steps that led him to where he sat. Closing his right eyelid, Haise fought past the enticing urge to fall asleep as he focused intently on what he could remember.

'There… There was that explosion, and then…. Then that thing opened up a hole…'

'... I think I ate some of what I could from the One Eyed Owl's kakuja to get my strength back… And then I… I dragged her with me, and then… Snuck down… Wait, the trunk!' Haise's right eye shot open wide as he suddenly remembered putting whatever he could scoop up of Eto's body into the trunk of the Rolls Royce.

The more he thought about it, Haise slowly began to realize more-and-more that his plan he had devised after pickpocketing that set of car keys from a well-dressed corpse was beginning to seem more unbelievable to him by the minute.

Yet there he was, having been so close towards obtaining the chance of freedom that CCG had denied him of since he transitioned from Ken Kaneki to Haise Sasaki. Any thoughts of self doubt were beginning to be washed away by a rejuvenating sense of determination, as Haise felt excitement and ambition set into his very being.

'I… I survived death…! Not even death was able to stop me…!' Haise thought proudly to himself, before beginning to reach over Saiko's shoulder to help prop himself up. '... "Right as rain..." Isn't that right, Hide?'

Feeling Haise trying to get up from beside her, Saiko turned her attention away from Shirazu with a bewildered and worried look in her blue eyes. "Maman?! What are you thinking?! Y-You need to sit down!"

Brushing away Saiko's words of rightful concern, Haise smiled past his numbing migraine in order to reassure both her and Shirazu with that little warmth he could.

"S-Saiko…" Haise addressed in a weary tone, before needing to take a moment to catch a shallow breath in order to continue giving out instruction. "Help me stand up… Shirazu," the squad leader said, as he switched focus from Saiko to stare at the conflicted deputy, who didn't know whether or not to listen to his squad leader, or to order his squad mate to immediately set him back down.

"Sassan?! W-What do you think you're doing?! You need to sit your ass down and wait for-"

"-I'm back!" Mutsuki called out interrupting, as he ran back to the group while holding a bloodied quinque knife in one hand, and two severed arms tucked safely underneath his armpit. "... Why is Haise standing?" Mutsuki inquired with a very disapproving look in his green eyes, as he turned his attention over to Saiko with an expectant look on his face. "Saiko, what are you doing…?! Haven't you've done enough to-"

"-Mutsuki… It's… I'll be okay," Haise said while trying to excuse Saiko of any blame that was being put onto her by his underling. "I… I need you to help me instead, please? S-Saiko's sort of… Sort off too short to help me stand up straight…"

Unsure of what to do at first, Mutsuki simply stood there with a conflicting look in his eyes before letting out a defeated sigh. "...Shirazu, hold these please," Mutsuki requested, before gently shoving the two severed arms into the man's chest.

"Ah shit, nasty…!" Shirazu muttered in disgust, as he watched Mutsuki shift over to Haise's side in order to take Saiko's place. "Ugh…! S-Sassan, uh… Do you, um… Did you want to eat this now, or…!?"

"For the love of God…" Mutsuki muttered under his breath, before impatiently swiping one of the severed arms back from Shirazu before raising it up against Haise's lips. "Here Sensei… Eat," Mutsuki instructed in an encouraging tone, and watched in relief as his squad leader slowly took a bite of human flesh before quickening his pace.

To Saiko and Shirazu's discomfort, Haise messily ate the severed arm down to the bones within a matter of a minute in a frenzied fashion that revealed to them just how hungry the one-eyed ghoul truly was.

Greedily licking his lips clean from his latest meal, it wasn't long until Haise almost wished he would have waited to recover after feeling an overwhelming sense of pain from his fresh injuries over taking his healing nerves.

Hyperventilating through the pain, Haise clenched his jaw shut and did his best to muffle out his screams of new agony, as his mind and body became more-and-more aware of just how close to death he actually was.

The only silver lining that Haise had left to hold on to as he fell down to begin violently seizing up on the floor was that by him being able to feel pain, and that meant that his body was getting better enough for him to process more coherent thoughts.

As his squadmates stood back in horror, they watched Haise slam what remained of his left fist against the asphalt multiple times, as he fought against the urge of blackening out just by the amount of suffering he was trying to endure.

The urge to resist his body's demanding need to go into shock was beyond anything else in his life he could compare, and the only way that Haise was able to keep himself awake long enough to build up the will to do what he had to do were the words of Hide that echoed within his franic head.

"... I know it hurts a lot, bud, but… You're a lot stronger than you think! You're the kind of guy who can push through anything! I know you got this, Kaneki!"

Trembling more violently than he could ever remember himself doing in the past, Haise used his new found willpower to fight past the pain long enough to stand up on his own; but not without letting out a cry of agony.

Tears were pouring down his bloodshot right eye as he used the side of the Rolls Royce to help him keep himself up to begin limping his way along the side of the sedan. Nearly shoving Shirazu back within his moment of extenuating pain, Haise took the last severed arm away from the deputy before climbing his way over to the driver door.

Heaving for air through his shrapnel and bullet filled lungs, Haise felt as though he was being asphyxiated as he used his single mostly good finger to pop open the trunk of the car.

With each rapid breath he took, Haise could feel the seven bullets within his torn-up lungs making it harder and harder to take each gasp of air.

As his tears trailed down his blistering skin that was beginning shed after being blacked by the fires of the explosion that did far worse damage to Eto than himself, Haise nearly broke the car door as he tore himself out of the driver's side to make the agonizing trip over to the back of the car.

While all of this was happening, the three quinx squad members were silent; too shocked by the raw display of determination and agony from their superior. Like a man on a mission, Haise was able to move with such conviction and speed that it simply made it incomprehensible for his friends to even begin to understand how someone could move in his condition, let alone still be alive.

After using his hip to keep himself steady enough to keep the severed arm pressed against Eto's torn-up lips, Haise was able to allow himself to once again fall onto the ground after feeling comfortable enough to allow Eto to eat on her own.

Collapsing onto the ground hard enough that some of his skin and a finger fell off of his body, Haise was immediately swarmed by his three squad mates, all of whom immediately came to his aid.

The first to finally lose their composure and sanity, surprisingly to the other two quinxes, was Mutsuki, who had seemed to be the one under control of his emotions the most out of their squad thus far.

"W-Why… W-Why didn't it work…?! I-I… I...!" Mutsuki choked out, before beginning to feel his hands and legs tremble. Breathing in and out just as quickly as Haise had done before becoming still, Mutsuki barely caught himself on the asphalt as he began to succumb to a panic attack.

Although he had been bottling his emotions the most out of the group, what finally pushed Mutsuki over the edge was the faint hope he had gotten after seeing his beloved sensei seemingly coming back to life after Saiko had shot him.

That spark of hope of seeing him coming back from seemingly the dead was crushed again the moment that Mutsuki noticed that Haise had stopped moving for the second time.

With Mutsuki's panic attack escalating into a full on seizure, Saiko was the next to lose her cool.

Wailing out in heart-wrenching agony, Saiko collapsed onto Haise's chest and began to sob harder than before; feeling the same second loss of hope that overtook Mutsuki, along with the overbearing guilt that finally came crashing down on her.

"M-MAMAN! MAMAN, NO!" Saiko screamed into Haise's chest hard enough that she could already feel herself damaging her own vocal cords. "NO! NO! NO! I'M SORRY MAMAN! NO! MAMAN!"

Seeing his squad's morale reaching even further past rock bottom than he could have imagined, Shirazu felt lightheaded as he got up to his feet to stare down at the horrific sight of what was becoming of his teammates.

"Goddamnit...!" Shirazu muttered in a panicked tone of voice, as himself began to feel himself shaking under the massive amount of stress he was underneath. He wanted to spring to action, like the hero he imagined himself to be while he and his squad members were battling Noro.

However, unlike Noro, the battle before him wasn't against something he could shoot and slash at. Zero morale, no help to be given to him, uncertainty in the air, and staring at the body of his leader and friend who Shirazu couldn't tell whether or not he was alive or not; it was all too much for the qunix to take in.

His mind screamed for him to check Haise's pulse, to tell Saiko to snap out of it so she could help Mutsuki while he went to get more help from upstairs; even after Saiko had first begged him not to let anyone else know about what she had done.

Frozen, unable to move, the feeling of utter helplessness that he felt in that moment made Shirazu think back to when he stepped foot in Haru's hospital room for the very first time. That same haunting sense of dread that came from being unable to do anything but to stare while his little sister lay comatosed while being connected to an array of several pieces of life support made Shirazu unable to do anything other than just silently cry.

In Shirazu's mind, all he did to help Haise was slow down the inevitable, and cause him to heal just enough to experience a living hell before dying. Shirazu soon found himself blaming himself for taking away what he figured could have been a peaceful death from Haise, and that guilt weighed heavily on the deputy's heart.

Before he too could succumb in defeat from just how hopeless and bleak their situation seemed, Shirazu's focus switched from Haise towards the short naked woman standing beside the back of the car.

From what Shirazu could tell just from how much blood and pieces of shrapnel that had decimated the surface of her skin, the mysterious woman with burnt hair and blistered skin must have been with Haise during whatever event led up to their critical injuries.

The woman appeared tired, and going in and out of consciousness while visibly struggling to stay awake. With one mostly-intact hand resting against the side of the Rolls Royce sedan in an attempt to prevent her swaying body from collapsing from her injuries, Eto did her best to keep her tunneling vision focused on Shirazu.

While Eto's healing factor had made her body appear in a far better condition than she actually was, shrapnel, q-bullets, and q-shards filled the inside of her body, and sliced her insides painfully with each movement she made.

"I… I can't hear you… My eardrums… There must be something inside my head," Eto struggled to say in a loud enough voice for Shirazu to hear. From what she could tell from Shirazu's change in facial features, she at least had his attention; far be it from her to know whether or not he actually understood her raspy voice or not.

"Haise… Haise saved me… I don't have… A lot of time to talk," Eto said with a noticeable enough slur for Shirazu to immediately come to the conclusion that she wasn't all right in the head at that very moment.

Looking at her forehead and past her blood-soaked bangs, it was then that Shirazu noticed several long chunks of metal sticking out of her head. That observation was enough to explain to Shirazu why she was drooling, and why one of her pupils were larger than the other.

"You… You must be friends with him… I do not know if he's alive… I don't know if I'm going to be alive for long either…" Eto said, before taking a limping step forward. "I know… I know how CCG works… They will do a triage… He will be dead before they get to him… I will be dead if you do not help me help him."

Finding the courage to finally walk over toward where Eto was trying to open the backseat door, Shirazu remained silent as he watched the half-ghoul using her barely functional arm to swat fruitlessly to grab hold of the handle.

"H… Here," Shirazu muttered out loud, before completely forgetting that Eto couldn't hear his words. Nonetheless, she seemed thankful for his willingness to cooperate with her.

"Thank you… Please put them in the backseat," Eto instructed, before vomiting some of her blood that had filled up her lungs. While she was trying to wipe away the mess on her chin, Shirazu looked away to give her some privacy, and kept himself busy by doing as she asked.

Had Shirazu been put into any other scenario, he would have first interrogated the strange woman who was clearly a ghoul before even daring to trust her enough to listen to whatever she had to say. However, considering that his options were extremely limited and he needed to save Haise on top of helping his emotionally out-of-control squadmates, Shirazu dared not to reject Eto's assistance.

By the time Shirazu had to practically shove his three unresponsive friends into the backseat of the Rolls Royce and had gotten the keys from Haise's pocket, Eto was already waiting for him by the front passenger door.

Without even needing to be told, Shirazu ran over to the side of the car to open the door for Eto. Upon seeing her trying to enter the car but lacking the motor functions to do so, it was then that Shirazu got a good look at how much metal had been buried into the half-ghoul's back, and even in the back of her head.

Wanting to make the drive somewhat pleasant and comfortable for the woman who was barely holding onto life by a few strings, Shirazu took off his large and fuzzy coat before draping it over her shoulders. Before assisting her into the passenger's seat and buckling her in, the deputy of the quinx squad made sure to zip up the oversized jacket he had given to her so he could give her some privacy by covering her exposed breast and genitalia.

"Thank you… You are kind… Like Haise must be," Eto said with a weary voice, before flashing a small smile at the deputy. "... We can go into the city by taking an alternative route… The Tsukiyama family built special underground roads… I know them well enough… I can tell you which way to go."

As much as he appreciated Eto's willingness to help him, a part of Shirazu knew what he was doing was wrong. Helping someone was probably a dangerous enemy of CCG and assisting said potential fujative would be seen as treason; an criminal act that would warrant their deaths if CCG ever figured out what they did.

The logical side of Shirazu that had loyalty to CCG told him to just kill the half-ghoul and take Haise upstairs to get help. After all, it was already made abundantly clear to Shirazu that Eto wasn't in any position to defend herself; in fact, just by leaving her in the car and not even having to lay a hand on her, Shirazu knew she'd be unable to undo her seatbelt and would end up dying one way or the other.

However, the other part of Shirazu that strived to do what his heart told him to do quickly prevailed.

Eto trusted him enough to help him and clearly wanted to save Haise as much as he did. Not only that, but Shirazu and anyone else in the quinx squad knew for a fact that their squad leader was often ostracized and looked at with prejudice for being seen as a ghoul.

Most of the people who Haise talked to were pleasant enough with him to his face, but Shirazu was perceptive when it came to noticing the dirty looks Haise got when he turned his back to other investigators.

After their most recent interaction with Matsuri's callousness, Shirazu would have been surprised if CCG would have even held a ceremony for Haise if were to die. Before Shirazu could get any further lost in his thoughts, he felt Eto's hand grab onto his pant leg with a weak but meaningful grasp.

"Child… I understand your hesitation… You may... Decide my fate when we arrive at our destination," Eto said, while doing her best to sound as calming and honest as she could while drool dripped down the corner of his sagging lip. "All will be explained… I don't have long, and neither does Haise… If he's still alive."

Caught between a conflict of his brain and heart, Shirazu once again felt that same sense of helplessness from long ago gripping at his very soul.

Except this time, he wasn't going to succumb to his fear; he owed Haise that much.

"... Damn it, damn it, damn it," Shirazu muttered under his breath as he quickly shut the front passenger side door to prevent Eto from seeing him beginning to shed tears, as he fought past the fear that gripped his heart.

"-Damn it, damn it, damn it!" Shirazu continued to repeat under his breath more audibly loud, after noticing the exit out of the parking lot had been closed off by traffic barriers sticking out of the asphalt and shut tightly behind a door of what looked to be solid q-metal.

Shirazu didn't remember there being those sorts of defenses from earlier, so he came to the conclusion that Saiko must have had a hand in it. Had the security guard been a bit faster, CCG would have had a harder time infiltrating Luna Eclipse from underground.

However, while the parking lot's built-in defenses had the potential to be too much for CCG, they seemed to only ignite the pent up storm that had been trapped within the deputy for far too long.

"-DAMN IT ALL TO HELL!" Shirazu screamed out defiantly for the world to hear, before unveiling his kagune to send a barrage of q-shards out toward the barrier of defenses that tore through the thirty-ton wall of reinforced metal within the minute of the qunix unleashing his wrath on it.

Not having any time to catch his breath, Shirazu could already hear the sounds of incoming footsteps closing on their location. The barriers were turned to pebbles, the solid door had been torn to ribbons, and the asphalt of the road had turned into the consistency of sand.

As car alarms begun to blare out through the parking lot and drown out the sounds of what must have been a group of armed investigators heading toward their way, Shirazu felt a small confident and toothy smile spread across his lips before sprinting his way over to the driver's door to hop inside.

Having bore witness to the qunix's handiwork, Eto flashed him a sloppy smile before congratulating him. "Nice work, child… Now onward, I'll tell you where to go from here on out... I hope you're in the mood for coffee."

Shirazu quickly ignited the engine before tuning into his favorite radio station to help him stay focused within the chaos that was unveiling itself around him. Worried whether or not he'd miss a direction from her raspy voice, Shirazu made sure that the music playing on the car's impressive stereo system was kept to a minimum.

Pressing on the gas pedal and putting the gear into drive, the tires of Shirazu's newly acquired vehicle burnt and squealed against the pavement below before he could speed out of the vicinity.

By the time that Matsuri and his investigators were able to finally arrive at the scene, there wasn't any sign of the group. Any distant sounds of Shirazu's car echoing from the blown-up exit had been drowned out by the disorienting car alarms that blasted around them.

While Matsuri and his group of hand-selected investigators were deep within the parking lot, Arima stood silently behind the office chair Furuta was using to finish downloading the files from the security footage onto a USB drive.

Having witnessed the entire thing since the two saw Haise sneaking into Luna Eclipse, the two had silently tracked the suspicious investigator who they had both previously thought to be predictable.

"My, my, Arima… It seems like your little student is quite the little criminal, isn't he?" Furuta mused with an amused smirk on his face, as he tapped his foot against the floor while waiting for the file to finish downloading onto his USB drive.

"... Where do you suppose they're heading to?" Arima asked in his usually calm demeanor, to which Furuta answered at first with a playful shrug.

"Beats me. But hey, you know what? It doesn't really matter where they're heading to," Furuta pointed out to his half-brother with a sly smile, before swiveling his chair around so that he was facing the White Reaper.

"What are you suggesting? Letting them go?"

"Well no, not necessarily," Furuta replied back with a small chuckle. "The way I see it, why waste all that time, and more importantly effort, to go play hide and seek with those two? How many people do you see walking around with stupid hair like they have? They'll stick out like sore thumbs…"

"... And even if they do change their hair color or whatever, those five morons have a singular red eye, for God's sake… No, the way I see it? They'll eventually bring themselves to our front doors, not the other way around," Furuta said, while looking up at his brother's cold stare. "Besides, this doesn't change anything; Kaneki-"

"-Haise," Arima corrected, which earned him a sassy glare from Furuta after interrupting him. "I heard them talking from here… He's still going by Haise."

"Pfff…! To-may-to, to-muh-to; same shit, different name," Furuta said as he brushed off Arima's correction, before returning back to his scheme. "Like I was saying… This doesn't really change anything… Oh, look at that! She's ready to go~!" Furuta said in a pleased tone, before ejecting the USB drive and putting it into his pocket.

"Now… To ensure that no one else can meddle around on this damn thing…" Furuta said with a mischievous smirk on his face, before gently pushing the computer over from the top of the desk. Watching the computer falling apart from the impact, Shirazu smiled at the blue screen of death on the monitor before standing up.

"Whoopsies! An accident! What a shame…!" The whimsical man said sarcastically to Arima, before stomping his foot hard down onto the already damaged computer. "Aren't I just clumsy...?" He chuckled out, before exiting the guard shack with Arima by his side.

Thank you for reading this chapter! I'll go ahead and address some stuff that occured in this chapter, and why I did it.

Haise and Eto weren't able to heal properly because their injuries are too critical to heal by eating flesh. Eto noticed it after beginning to move again, and felt herself being internally cut every time she moved a muscle.

Haise was on death's door, and all eating the arm did for him was heal him enough to act out to save Eto before his injuries could catch up to him. He was fighting against going back into shock.

Eto lacked the motor skills to even grab a car handle; there wasn't a snowball's chance in hell that she was going to be able to pull out enough shrapnel and bullets from her head.

Saiko only told Mutsuki and Shirazu about what she did to Haise, because she was afraid of the consequences she'd face if CCG found out that she had killed another investigator.

Mutsuki seemed the most quiet out of them at first, but the reality of it was that he was just suppressing his emotions and stress until he finally snapped.

Shirazu is the MVP.

Had Urie been there, he probably would have been more loyal to CCG than Haise, and the rest of his team as well. The only reason why Shirazu didn't know that Eto is the One Eyed Ghoul was because he wasn't outside when Koori revealed her identity over the radio. Nor did he or the rest of his team have a radio on them.

Had the quinx squad not helped, Haise and Eto would have probably both died. Neither of them were able to think properly, nor able to operate anything requiring fine motor skills… Like a car.

I had a blast writing this, and can't wait to start on the next chapter! Thank you again, and please feel free to leave a review!

Thank you, and have a good day!
