This chapter will be split into two parts, for pacing purposes.

P-Purposes? P-Porpoise… Porpoises.

Porpoises with purposes.

Anyways, enough of my lame sense of humor. I want to write the part with Yusa being the main character of the protest chapter, but my own pacing made me write this mini-arc before then instead.

From how my pacing's going, you should expect there to be a juicy Haise x Eto lemon when we reach Chapter 30.

I digress, lol. Please, enjoy the chapter and thank you for those who are reading, following, favoriting, and leaving reviews while giving me your feedback; I appreciate every bit of it, and you guys motivate me to write lol.

Thank you, and please enjoy this chapter; the next chapter should be posted either later tonight, or tomorrow.

With Roma's motorcycle's gas tank filled to the brim, and with there being plenty of time left to spare before needing to be at Eto's apartment, Haise for a while thought that things were finally going his way; especially after noticing that there were no more publicly-posted wanted signs for his arrest, that were once on the various billboards that he passed by while on the highway.

Word of him being spotted at 7-Eleven had gotten around Tokyo quickly, and soon after driving along the highway for about fifteen minutes, Haise was finding himself being honked at by various cars trying to get his attention. Even though none of his skin was visible, his Hello Kitty motorcycle and clown-themed helmet was what gave his identity away, due to the posted pictures of him at 7-Eleven having been circulated online within such a small time frame.

Being busy with trying to be as polite as possible to the many passerbyers who were cheering him on, Haise became distracted with trying to appease his developing fan base while simultaneously keeping an eye on the road.

Due to his failure to pay attention to the center console, by the time Haise noticed that the check engine light was blinking at him, it was too late for his Hello Kitty bike. Haise barely was able to reach the 20th Ward's south border before the motorcycle that had already caused him enough problems finally broke down, due to a blown head gasket.

Spending the next thirty minutes venting to himself while, once again, walking along side Roma's broken motorcycle, Haise got all the way down past the off ramp of the highway and to the corner of a secluded public-park before noticing that bits and pieces of the bike's engine had been falling off during the entire time he had been traveling.

Not knowing what else to do, Haise decided to drag the useless motorcycle through several meters of flora, before finding a nice shaded patch of wet dirt that was far away from any park goers to notice what he was about to do.

Feeling guilty for littering, Haise disposed of the motorcycle the only way he knew how to: by digging a two-meter hole into the Earth with his kagune, before dumping the bike inside of it. Using his tendrils to sweep the large mound of dug-up dirt back into the hole to finish burying the Hello Kitty themed motorcycle, Haise stood awkwardly beside the freshly-made mechanical-grave with a strange feeling dwelling inside of him.

Although Haise knew that the terrible and poorly-maintained bike wasn't an actual sentient being, he still couldn't help but feel bad for it. Perhaps it was the sentimental value the bike had to him, because after all, it was the first motorcycle he had ever rode, but for whatever reason, Haise felt obligated to give a proper send off; despite the fact that the bike was absolute garbage.

"… Hello there, Roma's motorcycle," Haise said aloud, for the aforementioned bike to hear his words from the great mechanic's shop in the sky. "When I got you, I… Kind of wished that you weren't designed after a children's franchised-character… What else, what else…? Oh, I'm also upset that I wasted two-thousand yen on putting gas in you, that I won't ever get back… I also wish you were held together with more than just duct tape and chewed-up gum..."

"… I digress," Haise said in a bitter tone, after finally realizing that, more than likely, Roma purposefully gave him that piece of shit bike to either prank him, or to simply dispose of it. "… Look, the point I'm trying to make is that I'm thankful for you getting me this far. Yoshimura's place isn't too far from here, so hopefully I can just have her pick me up somewhere near this place…"

"… I'd walk there if I could, but my legs are really tired from carrying you around so much today. And if I hadn't spent my money on gas, then I could have called for a taxi, or paid for a bus ticket," Haise said with a frown on his face, after once again finding himself venting out loud about how inconvenienced he was.

"… Goodbye Roma's bike; I hope there's a scrapyard in Hell that you can call your new home." Haise said with a spiteful tone in his voice, before heading out of the thicket of the park's woods.

After their feud about who was going to take Haise as their date to the party ended up with them wrestling in the kitchen, Eto and Touka silently both agreed to not speak to one another until Uta's Christmas party; which was scheduled to begin at nine o'clock at night.

With Touka sitting down at the messy kitchen while eating some lean-meat that she had grilled the night prior, Eto decided to shower for the second time again that morning, after her clothes and skin had gotten soiled by the other ghoul's musky body sweat.

Due to all four women having to share a bathroom, Eto thought nothing of it when she heard someone entering the room while she was showering behind a transparent glass door. Unashamed of being seen naked, due to her past tendencies of going into battle with nothing covering her except loose-bandages, Eto didn't mind the fact that Mutsuki was standing outside of her see-through shower-door.

"Hey sweetheart, how are you and Saiko doing?" Eto asked with a motherly tone to her voice, as she smiled at Mutsuki while simultaneously lathering her long green-hair with shampoo.

"I'm doing fine, I guess… Saiko's just, you know… Playing her video games, is all," Mutsuki said with an anxious look on her face, as she leaned her body up against the bathroom counter to get herself comfortable. "How about you? I… I hope that the rift between you and Kirishima doesn't last too long…"

"Oh, it won't, sweetie; Kirishima and I are just… Taking a break from talking with each other right now! She's much more mature than she used to be; she and I will be right as rain by tomorrow, I'm sure of it!" Eto said optimistically, before leaning her body forward to rinse the soap out of her mane, without it getting into her eyes.

"Ah, I sure hope that's the case," Mutsuki said with a weak smile on her face, as she watched the hot water cascading down on the other woman's long and messy hair. "… Yoshimura, can I ask you something? It's a bit… Out there, if I'm being honest," Mutsuki asked nervously.

"Yeah, sure; you can ask me anything, sweetheart," Eto said invitingly, which made Mutsuki feel slightly more comfortable about bringing up her question.

"Well, since it's apparent that you and Kirishima both have very strong feelings for my Sensei… Have you thought about the idea of perhaps you both being in a relationship with him…?" Mutsuki asked anxiously, while feeling her body tensing up after noticing Eto's hands suddenly coming to a halt while in the midst of combing the suds out of her hair.

"…You mean me being in a relationship with Sasaki AND Kirishima?" Eto asked with a slightly aggravated voice, before standing back up to flip her wet-hair out of her face, so that it was all draping down from the back of her head and against her back. "… With all due respect, Tooru, I don't find women to be sexually attractive; especially if they happen to be my own kids."

"W-Well, no, it wouldn't be like that…! Basically, you and Sensei would be able to do what normal couples do with one another. The only real difference would be that you'd let Touka also be in a relationship with Sensei," Mutsuki argued timidly, before wrapping up her rebuttal by adding, "Think of it like you sharing the responsibilities of being Sensei's significant other with Touka, while still being able to love Sensei as much as you want…!"

Passively-aggressively squirting a glob of body wash onto her loofah, Eto furrowed a brow at Mutsuki before beginning to lather her body up. "… You seem rather adamant about Kirishima and I both being in a serious relationship with the same man. Did you get the idea from reading erotica, or some other online source?"

Blushing a bit because what Eto had implied was somewhat actually true, Mutsuki did her best to hide her flushed cheeks behind her palm before replying with a poorly executed "N-No… Not really."

Muttering to herself about wondering if there was something wrong with Mutsuki, Eto cleared her throat before making her statement. "Okay then, let me just say, first off, that I personally don't have anything against people who seek out multiple partners; that's their choice, and I'm not in any position to judge them," Eto said in an authoritative voice, as she let the hot water wash away the soap from her large breasts.

"... With that being said… I have absolutely zero interest pretending to not be jealous, while my significant other is getting screwed and loved on by another woman," Eto said with a scornful tone in her voice, as she was already finding herself getting upset at the thought of Haise sleeping with someone else.

"... Not even a little?" Mutsuki asked with a desperate tone in her voice, before suddenly shutting herself up the moment Eto stopped rising herself off to slam open the glass shower-door.

"Absolutely not," was all Eto had left to say about bringing Mutsuki's fantasies to life, before shutting the glass door.

Getting the hint that Eto was no longer in the mood to talk to her, Mutsuki let out a defeated sigh before beginning to turn around to exit the bathroom. That's when Eto's phone started to vibrate on the bathroom sink's counter. "Hey Tooru, who's calling me?"

"Let me check," Mutsuki answered back with a mildly irritated tone, as she picked up the phone before staring at the caller ID. "Speak of the devil… It's Sensei."

Opening the sliding glass door once again, Eto appeared suddenly excited with a smile on her face, before suddenly staring at Mutsuki with an impatient expression. "... Well then? Go on, put him on speaker, sweetheart!"

Doing as she was instructed, Mutsuki accepted the call before putting Haise on speaker. "Morning Sensei…" Mutsuki greeted him over the phone with her disappointed tone still present in her voice, despite the fact that she was still happy to be talking to the only man she had ever had feelings for..

"Hey there, Tooru! Where's Yoshimura? Is she around?" Haise asked curiously with his usually positive demeanor, which of course made Mutsuki feel jealous while making Eto feel giddy inside like a schoolgirl.

"I'm right here, Sasaki! I was just finishing up with my shower!" Eto called out in a happy voice, as she immediately shut off the water before grabbing her body towel to start drying off. "Merry Christmas Eve, 'Mr. Hero'~! We all watched the morning news this morning, and tuned into that interview… Must feel nice to be praised instead of being hunted, huh~?" Eto asked with a playful voice, while mentally thinking of where she and Haise could go for their first outing together.

"I'm still getting used to the change, but yes, life's getting better for me, I think," Haise replied back with a somewhat humble voice, before replying back with, "I'm still unsure whether or not there's still a bounty on my head though, and if it's just not being publicly advertised like how it was a few days ago… I'm still keeping an eye out for anything suspicious in the meantime."

"It's always wise to maintain a keen sense of caution when you're in public, but I would even go as far as to argue that you shouldn't even be out and about by yourself right now," Eto added, while still taking solace in knowing that Haise would at least be safer out in the streets than he recently had been. "Speaking of which, where are you calling from? I thought you were heading straight to my apartment."

"I was, but then I ran out of gas, so I made a detour to a nearby 7-Eleven… And then the motorcycle Roma leant me ended up being a real piece of work, and fell apart right when I got to the southern edge of the 20th Ward," Haise explained, while still feeling crossed that his newly acquired 'friend' leant him such a terrible vehicle in the first place.

Eto's smile suddenly faded as she got out of the shower to make her way over to Mutsuki to take her phone from her. "And where are you right now? Are you okay?" The half-ghoul asked in a concerned voice, while taking the phone off speaker mode so she could talk to Haise in private; a decision that Mutsuki wasn't quite happy with.

"I'm doing alright for the moment, thank you for asking. As far as my location goes, I'm over at Ishida Park. I'm sitting at a bench near the park's public restrooms… I'd hate to ask this, but might one of you be able to give me a ride to the apartment?" Haise asked with a slightly anxious voice, due to him still dreading the thought of inconveniencing his friends.

"Don't ever be afraid to ask us for help, Sasaki... I'll take Shirazu's old car, and pick you up in about twenty or so minutes," Eto said in a reassuring voice, before walking past Mutsuki in order to exit the bathroom.

Left alone in the steamy-bathroom, Mutsuki watched as Eto closed the door behind her, while still talking on the phone with Haise. A deep seeded jealousy began to poke its head out from within her subconscious, and despite the fact that Mutsuki was okay with sharing Haise with the other women of the household just moments ago, the qunix couldn't help but to feel angered about being denied of her Sensei's attention.

'... You're right, Yoshimura; I don't think a polygamous relationship sounds acceptable, either,' Mutsuki thought scornfully, before beginning to give up on her plan of sharing Haise with Eto and Touka.

Having gotten off the phone with Eto after instructing her how to use Siri in order to mark up her GPS with his location, Haise slid his phone back into his white-leather jacket's pocket before zipping it up. While sitting outside the same outdoor building that housed the park's public restrooms wasn't his ideal place to kill time, the location served as an adequate enough landmark for Eto to keep an eye out for when she arrived at the parking lot.

Staring up at the clear skies above, Haise occasionally waved and even gave his autograph out to various park goers who recognized who he was. A fair amount of time had passed where nothing happened, until Haise was suddenly approached by a group of men dressed in heavy parkas and hoodies.

With the outside temperature being what it was, the one-eyed ghoul didn't think much of the large group's choice of clothing. That was, until the tallest of them who towered over Haise by a meter finally approached him with the group following behind him.

"You… You are Sasaki, yes?" The man asked in a burly voice, while subtly cracking his knuckles in front of the one-eyed ghoul, who was still sitting down on the bench with a content look on his face.

"That I am, friend; that I am," Haise replied back with a playful voice, as he quietly counted the number of men who were trying to intimidate him. "Judging by your guys' demeanor, I don't think you're here for pictures, right?"

"... We're here to collect the bounty on your head, before CCG goes under," the burly man replied with a callus voice, before suddenly reaching down with his large hand to pick Haise up by his collar. "... We can take you in warm, or cold; the decision is yours to make."

Keeping his calm, Haise remained stone-faced while being lifted up by the large man, who was glaring menacingly at him from underneath his hood that shrouded his black and red eyes. "... Are you sure I can't interest you gentlemen with an autograph, or maybe even a few pictures? It'll cost you a lot less than trying to cash in on that bounty, that's for sure," Haise said with a fearless voice, as he smiled confidently at the unarmed man.

"Think about it; I've fought the executive ghouls who were a part of the Aogiri Tree, platoons of heavily armed investigators, the One Eyed Owl, the Black Reaper, AND survived an encounter with the White Reaper himself… What chance do you guys really think you have against me?"

Just by noticing how the burly man's grip on his collar became loose after asking his rhetorical question, Haise was able to tell that what he had said cut deeply into the largest ghoul's confidence.

Even the large group of men who had moments ago seemed like they were ready to attack him were slowly backing away from Haise, while quietly discussing amongst themselves about having second thoughts about trying to risk their lives for what they once thought to be 'easy money'.

"Walk away right now, and I promise I won't take this personally… The decision is yours to make," Haise said in a calm tone, while turning his attention back towards the large ghoul who had said the same exact words to him moments ago.

Reluctant to appear weak before the group of ghouls who he had rallied up to take on the 'Eyepatch ghoul', it took the headstrong man a bit longer than Haise expected before finally agreeing to carefully put the one-eyed ghoul back down onto the same exact spot on the bench where he had been sitting, before they had interrupted him.

While the rest of his entourage of ghouls silently walked away to continue on with their lives, the burly man stood silently while staring down at Haise's grey and red mismatching eyes, and quietly said "... Have yourself a Merry Christmas, Sasaki," in a gruff voice, before finally walking away to carry on with his spared life.

While Haise had always been a very seasoned veteran when it came to holding his own against insurmountable odds, and fighting to him at this point in his life had essentially become second nature to him, the one-eyed ghoul was still glad that he didn't need to resort to violence in order to resolve an issue.

Deep down inside, no matter what image anyone would want to paint him as, Haise preferred pacifism over having to hurt others.

Raising his arms up to rest them along the top of the wooden bench's backrest, Haise nestled himself comfortably into his seat while looking onward past the horizon of towering trees and branches in the near distance, and out toward the blues skies above. Due to how comfortable Haise had gotten while getting lost in his thoughts, it wasn't long until the one-eyed ghoul drifted off to sleep, where his stardom couldn't protect him against his inner demons.

Finding himself surrounded in a field of white flowers that grew from the endless sea of snow that he stood upon, Haise found himself looking up at the black-abyss above that had enveloped where the sky once resided.

Despite there being no visible clouds above him, snowflakes were gently falling down on Haise from the unseen heavens above, and the only two things accompanying the one-eyed ghoul in that frozen wasteland were the two most important people in his life that had been taken away from him.

"Shirazu… Hinami…" Haise called out in a hollow voice, while desperately reaching out towards his two lost children who were staring back at him with tears eyes, and heartbroken expressions plastered on their faces. Wanting to run towards them but unable to move his legs, Haise fought with his metaphysical body that refused to budge upon his command.

With fallen snow coating his white-trench coat and dress shirt in a thin layer that was growing more-and-more by the passing second, Haise suddenly found himself seizing his efforts of trying to move forward upon noticing Shirazu beginning to slowly make his way over to him.

Watching anxiously with his heart racing in his chest, Haise wanted nothing more than to reach his arms out to embrace his son; to tell him that he loved him, and that he'd do anything to have him back. Haise yearned to tell Shirazu that he was sorry for neglecting him, and for being so hyper fixated on Hinami that he had completely ignored the pain that his son had been going through after going so long without being able to visit his comatosed sister.

There were so many things that Haise wished he could have said to Shirazu, yet even in his dreams, there was only white silence in spite of Haise trying his hardest to speak out to his deceased son.

Unable to vocalize his aching heart, Haise could do nothing else but stand by and watch painfully as the snow above began to pile on top of Shirazu's body. Without reacting to the fact that he was being swallowed up by the snow beneath his feet, Shirazu remained silent while staring back at Haise with a look of emptiness and defeat in his unique-looking eyes.

The time it took for Shirazu's body to finally be taken by the unforgiving Earth below might as well have been an eternity to Haise, who hated every second of being reminded how helpless and weak he felt when his son had been crushed before his very eyes.

Trapped in white silence, unable to release his agony into something as simple as a scream, Haise eventually found himself able to move his body after the time for saving Shirazu had passed him up once more.

Desperation and fear empowered Haise's legs, as he sprinted through the vast plain of snow and white flowers towards the young fourteen year-old ghoul who stood in place while the thin layer of snow covering her small frame began to grow thicker by the second. With each stop he took, Haise's legs grew heavier-and-heavier, but the fire in his heart allowed him to carry on past his pain, like the spirit of a centipede that he had embodied.

Gritting his teeth, Haise paid no attention to the fact that his half-kakuja was activating on its own accord. With his centipede-like mask covering his face, while his two-large and pronged tails grew out of his upper back, Haise remained determined as he approached Hinami.

He was so close to her, he could feel it in his aching heart. Yet, he was so far.

Just when he was only a meter away from where Hinami was looking up at him with the same sorrowful and empty gaze that Shirazu had been using on him moments ago, that's when Haise was sent flying back after an fiery-blast erupted between him and his little sister.

Refusing to give up when he was so close to achieving his goal, Haise used his large chitinous-tails to anchor himself into the Earth, before using the power of his half-kakuja to launch himself forward, back towards Hinami's direction.

Crawling on all fours towards Hinami, who was surrounded by a ring of hell fire that was emerging from the snow beneath her, Haise made it within reaching distance of her before raising his right arm out to grab her. As soon as his fingers were just centimeters away from reaching Hinami, a blinding flash of blue-lightning disoriented his vision.

Upon his vision returning, it was then that Haise was met with the grizzly sight of his left forearm missing, and in its place was a stump covered in black-viscus. The pain he felt from his missing limb was overshadowed by the absolute hell he felt from having to bear the sight of Hinami's severed head looking up at him, as her dissipated head laid down at his feet.

Her mouth was gently agape, and was leaking the same black-liquid that was covering the stump where his forearm had once been. All Haise could do was stare in horror as he watched Hinami's head become swallowed up by the same unforgiving snow that had taken Shirazu.

Enraged and heartbroken, Haise raised his head up to be met with the sight of the burning silhouette of the Black Reaper shoving Hinami's headless body to the side, as though she were nothing to him.

The white flowers that poked their stems out of the snow gracefully twisted and unraveled to reveal themselves as red spider-lilies; the flowers that represented death.

Hate was ripping away at whatever remained of Haise's heart, as all he could do was blame the Black Reaper for all of his misfortunes. Shirazu's death, Hinami's disappearance, to Haise, it was all thanks to the same bastard who had nearly gotten him and the rest of his friends killed on that fateful night.

Leaping forward with six red-tendrils and two-centipede tails breaking the sound barrier, as they struck down at where the Black Reaper was standing, Haise's vision was once again enveloped by a burning-blue light that blinded him for less than a second; which was all the time the Black Reaper needed to sever Haise's legs from the knees down.

Crashing down and tumbling into mounds of snow and torn-apart spider-lilies, Haise did his best to use his momentum to roll onto his back while still facing where the Black Reaper was standing with his quinque still gripped tightly in his hand.

"... What a waste of time and effort you ended up being, Sasaki," the Black Reaper said aloud in a deep and foreboding voice, while Haise watched as his severed lower-legs were swallowed up by the snow-covered Earth as well.

"Six months… Six months have gone by. Your friends held out for you, hoping that you'd be able to live a normal life with them… A life that they built for you, that all had to come to an end because of you," the Black Reaper said in a cold and unforgiving tone, while watching from behind the black eye-visor of his helmet as Haise's half-kakuja began to expand towards his missing limbs and mask.

"You could have had a peaceful life at that coffee shop, but that wasn't good enough for you… You destroyed their lives, and you couldn't care less about that. You'll never be satisfied, Sasaki."

While two chitinous-like spirals formed beneath his kneecaps, to replace the lower legs and feet that he had lost, a large armored limb connected to a three-prong claw emerged from the black-covered stump where Haise's forearm had once been.

"And to what excuse do you have to amend for the lives that have been lost in your efforts of saving a girl who might as well be dead? Tell me, was it because you 'were doing the right thing'?"

Slowly, the six tendrils that made up his kagunes began to mesh together with his centipede tails to form two bulky-purple tendrils that had eyeless heads at the tips of them, similar to the Black Reaper's quinque.

"Is that the excuse you'll be hiding behind for the remainder of your life? Because you loved her more than you loved the four of us who you called your 'children'...? Is that what sounds like the 'right thing to do'?"

With his half-kakuja's evolution taking its final steps towards its next development, the one-eyed centipede-mask that covered Haise's face began to expand outward towards his chin and the other side of his once-exposed face; shielding his face entirely upon its completion.

"...You didn't seem to mind the fact that I was gone when you started to look for her, and it seems as though you're already trying to move on from Shirazu… You're masquerading around with 'good intentions', when in reality you're just satisfying your own ego and self interest."

The finishing touches of Haise's new kakuja form ended with his white strands of hair suddenly becoming a dark-crimson red that had the same shade as blood, while his usually fluffy hairstyle suddenly became straightened and messy. Being powered by pure hatred, and the desire he once had to rescue Hinami being replaced with his need to kill the Black Reaper, the darkness that took a hold of his strained heart allowed him to finally find the words he needed to say.

"Know this, Sasaki: When the time comes for me to once again face you and your friends, the blood that I'll shed from their dying bodies will be on your hands… Everyone who accompanies you will be there because they love you, not because they agree with your beliefs… They'll die because they love you... When they all meet their ends, you'll have no one left to blame but yourself."

No longer being subjected to the white silence that weighed heavily on him, Haise stood back up from the Earth and glared right into the Black Reaper's visor before uttering the words, "Shut the hell up..."

Feeling empowered with his ability to defy the hold that the Black Reaper's presence once had on him, Haise used his kakuja-created legs to launch himself forward at break-neck speeds. Swinging his large claw-appendage down like a hammer, Haise clashed his kakuja-arm against Urie's quinque.

To his satisfaction, the claw Haise had been gifted with by his own desire to kill the Black Reaper had been equipped to handle the blue-lightning that was surging through Ginkui's blade. Refusing to release his iron grip from the Black Reaper's quinque, Haise used his newly acquired kagune by using the biting tips of his two purple tendrils to chomp down on Ginkui.

Shattering the quinque beyond being useful, Haise tossed the broken sword to the side just in time to narrowly avoid being shot point-blank by the Black Reaper's large blade-like kagune. Grunting after feeling the sharp pain of the Black Reaper suddenly stepping forward to sever his two tendrils, Haise utilized hsi spring-like feet to leap backwards in time to evade being sliced in half by the other one-eyed ghoul's kagune.

Having already anticipated for the Black Reaper's next move, Haise's full-mask was able to create a protective barrier around his eyes to shield them from the blinding light created from the Black Reaper's body.

Knowing fully well from experience how long the flash of electricity lasted, Haise's protective film over eyes retracted back into his black-mask while using his heightened senses to detect the Black Reaper's precise location, before he could strike back with a counter attack.

With mercy being out of the question, Haise was able to quickly side-step out of the way of the Black Reaper's kagune before using his massive kakuja-arm to dig his three-prong claw into the fiery-apparition's black helmet. Smiling sadistically with the only thing on his mind being murder, a sinsiter laughter escaped Haise's throat, as he could feel the Black Reaper's helmet beginning to crack underneath his claw's strength.

"ME?! I WAS A WASTE OF TIME AND EFFORT!? ME, THE ONLY FUCKING SQUAD LEADER WHO WAS WILLING TO PUT UP WITH YOUR DISRESPECTFUL ATTITUDE, WAS A WASTE OF TIME AND EFFORT!?" Haise screamed hatefully at the Black Reaper, who suddenly became powerless to stop his old squad-leader from deciding his fate for him.

"THE ONLY WASTE OF TIME AND EFFORT HERE WAS YOU! YOU! YOU BETRAYED ME, SHIRAZU, SAIKO, AND MUTSUKI! YOU TOOK THE MOST IMPORTANT GIRL IN MY LIFE AWAY FROM ME! YOU…! YOU'RE THE ONLY ONE HERE WHO HAS NO ONE ELSE LEFT TO BLAME BUT YOURSELF, URIE!" Haise screamed through a primal-rage deep within his blackened heart, as he crushed the Black Reaper's helmet until suddenly the world around him warped into a sea of monochrome darkness.

Okie dokie, that does it for Part One of 'Unravel'.

Like I said above, I'll try to release part two either later tonight, or tomorrow.

The main point of this mini-arc is to show that despite Haise being outwardly happy, and rightfully so since his life has improved dramatically since the start of, like, even chapter one, the truth of the matter is that he's miserable deep down.

As Mutsuki pointed out a while ago, Haise is good at lying to himself. He usually just represses whatever is bothering him by either keeping himself busy with whatever's going on in his life, or as we've seen, by using drinking, smoking, and even sex as a way to make him forget temporarily about how sad he actually is.

Haise wants to be happy, so he tries to fool himself into thinking that he's happy. In his dreams though, or rather nightmares, he can't hide from himself.

In reality, he's extremely unhappy that he can't let Hinami go, and he's still haunted that he was unable to save Shirazu. Haise hates the Black Reaper, but as you'll see in the next chapter, still loves Urie and is devastated in knowing that he'll probably have to be the one to put him down.

On a side note, if Eto ever was to come around to allowing Haise to sleep around, it would have to be with women she was okay with, and Eto would be the one to initiate the proposed sex. Of course, for the sake of making it easier for Haise to get around before settling down, Haise and Eto will be 'almost dating' until finally committing to one another.

Anyways, let me go over some of the reviews.

Okay, so my idea of how Hinami could pose as Chie Hori is this: Have her put a binder on to decrease the size of her bust, cut her own hair and dye it to match Chie's, put on eye contacts to change the color of her irises, and lastly mask her scent by always wearing a heavy layer of perfume. So essentially, just going undercover with the help of a clever disguise.

That's one way Hinami could get close to Haise.

Touka, as of now, is stronger than Haise, just because she'd had more time to exercise and hone her power, while Haise was in a coma for six months. Keep in mind, Haise's been in-and-out of consciousness for roughly around six days (four of those days, he was out of commission for).

Literally, Haise hasn't really caught a break yet.

As far as Touka being able to pick up Haise and man-handle him however she pleases is both hilarious and kinda hot, ngl. Thank you for making me laugh with that exchange between Touka and Haise/Kaneki, lol.

Haise WAS going to keep the motorcycle. RIP Hello Kitty Bike.

Thank you for reviewing L! Celebrity status does have its perks for Haise, indeed lol. I think the best thing about it according to Haise isn't the free food, but just being able to make people smile when they see him, rather than being afraid of him.

Thank you for reviewing Carla, and Haise was nervous about taking his helmet off too, lol; that's why he involuntarily had one of his irises change from grey to red. I'd say that Chie Horie is definitely bisexual, while Kurona probably would be either bisexual or lesbian, thanks to her, uh… 'Attraction' she had with her sister.

And as far as it being safer for Haise and Eto to start going on dates, you bet your bottom dollar that they'll be going out more often. And don't worry, Eto and Haise's date to see an elementary school that holds importance for the both of them will be in Chapter 29… While Chapter 30 will be the lemon where Haise impregnates Eto.

That's for fucking reviewing, Saitama! Forgive me if I forgot my own lore, lmao, but I don't even think anyone but GOAT knows that Rize is on the island. The whole point is that Furuta is going to get Rize through means of having Haise practically deliver her to Urie, who then in exchange will negotiate for Hinami's 'release'. As far as Touka being SS at base form, I consider Haise being SS+ at his current half-kakuja form, while still being hypothetically stronger if he were to use his 'Black Reaper Kakuja' in comparison to his centipede form. Well, not really? It's just those two kakujas are different, and are better and worse in their own ways that are better used depending on the situation.

For example, the Centipede half-kakuja is better for general situations where Haise would have to fight multiple opponents. The Black Reaper kakuja is better for one-on-one fights with powerful enemies, which requires Haise to have high defense.

Of course, with that being said, Haise currently has no kakuja form to keep up with someone faster than him, such as 'One-Eyed Ghoul' Ihei or base-level 'White Reaper' Arima, who would destroy him in a fight.

Thank you for reviewing, Reviewbruh! I would say that Ruisawa had left CCG around the time that most other bureau investigators did, which was after the Third Cochlea Raid, due to Matsuri trying to force them to switch over to being ghoul investigators, due to the decline of manpower. I would say that Dr. Kanou did lose control of his experiments, and yes, he was trying to experiment with the same dragon-cells that are coursing through Urie's body.

Since they have symbiotic attributes to them, expect them to see them playing a big part when it comes for Rushima Island's main antagonist to play his part: Amon Kotarou. Dragon-cells can't survive on their own, they do need a host after all.

Furuta is what he does best: acting like a puppeteer that makes others do his bidding for him, all without having to put himself at risk of being in the front lines of danger.

Thank you for reviewing, Root A! Considering what Urie's capable of, I think it's safe to say that aside from Arima, there isn't an investigator who can stand against him. In the Cochlea Raid, I think I wrote that he ended up killing a majority of the investigators there, while also slaying the prisoners who Ihei didn't use to help her steal all the equipment GOAT needed.

Urie, or rather, The Black Reaper, is extremely feared, so being seen as the devil incrated wouldn't be out of the question. Hinami will probably be impersonating Chie to visit Haise. Like I wrote above, she'd use some sort of perfume or pheromone to throw off her scent. They'll need more than a few hours, if you know what I'm sayin'.

In this fanfic at least, Haise's irises will sometimes become grey and red, without his sclera changing colors. But I wish I made Haise's eyes pink from the weed, lol.

Chie was making a move on Kurona, yes.

If Eto and Touka ended up getting pregnant at the same time, hint hint, then they probably would be supportive of sharing Haise, so that he can be there for his kids and them. Remember, they have to want that, not the other way around.

Touka grabbing Haise to make out with him in front of Eto to piss her off and establish her dominance would be amazing, and I'll probably steal that idea, ngl.

When I do write that lemon for Haise x Eto, I think I'll use your idea Guest, of having their kakugans activating by themselves when they climax. Thank you for the wonderful idea!

Good food should never be wasted, and unfortunately for Haise, he didn't have a lot of money on him to bring home snacks. Luckily, Eto's coming to meet him at the park, so he won't have to worry about money.

Sweet Home Alabama; Lord I'm coming home to you! By living an average life, yes, I meant Furuta constantly impregnating Rize, while building up his army of children for him to love. Honestly, I totally could see Furuta asking Haise to impregnate Rize, just so that one of his children doesn't end up with a birth defect.

A threesome with Chie Hori, Kurona, and Haise?! In a jacuzzi?! Yes please, I'm totally gonna do that!

Haise is going to still be sleeping at his quarters aboard the Crescent Moon; there just isn't enough room for him at Eto's apartment, and I doubt Tsukiyama wants the rest of them aboard his ship after the things he heard going on at Corniculum.

Siblings matches ending in injuries suck, imo. But yes, they do happen.

Haise and Eto are probably going to go shopping for presents before heading home… After they have sex, of course.

Matsuri is extremely screwed, and in this fanfic, he isn't getting a good ending this time.

If the public knew that CCG was trying to assassinate Yusa, Furuta, and Haise, then yes, it would end poorly for them. Which is why they would try to do it in secret; which will probably fail, tbh.

Haise always gets kisses and bitches; no ifs, ands, or buts.

Anyways, that about does it for this chapter.

I'll be posting the second part to this chapter soon, so I'll see then!

Thank you, and please have a great day!
