*Chapter 116*
Like floating on a cloud that was taking a slow descent back to the planet, Kepa felt the wiggle of consciousness come back to her refreshed coding. From the gentle, hazy black of slumber her soul crawled from, she fluttered her eyelids behind the kiss of pink they were tinted, due to the splay of morning sunshine that casted upon her. Allowing realization to come back to her senses, she opened her eyes in a sleepy narrow and firmly gathered her surroundings with the knee-jerk reaction of fear. Stamped out upon coming face to face with Gideon's broad chest, she dart her sleepy eyes around, scrunched deeper into his limp embrace and firmly sniffled the air between them in a rise of still prickled curiosity. She long blinked in full confusion, though the moment she realized she had just woken up from sleep was the moment she felt relief hit her skin, once and for all. The drape of Gideon's limbs all tangled in hers, her tail loosely and comfortable flopped over his thighs as the two remained cuddled on their sides and positively drowned in the massive, heavy comforter Gideon had manifested, the house, and everything outside of it, was still, sunny, glowing with tangible happiness.
Kepa sighed a shaky breath of happy realization and wondered the time, aware they had a beach get-together later in the day, she fluttered her eyes closed in relieved, dreamy delight and was confident that snuggling deeper into Gideon's warm chest was the answer. If he wasn't awake to care, she silently giggled to herself and figured she wouldn't be, either. Grateful Gideon had so lovingly afforded her a night full of rest, she happily began to allow her magical purring abilities to soak the room, no holds barred. Although she wrapped her arms about Gideon's torso and gave him a snuggly hug inside the drape of their cozy blankets, she desperately did everything she could to not knead on him, knowing it'd likely wake him up. Not able to help herself, she peered up into Gideon's handsome face, the way his head rested in a firm slump to the huge pillow they shared, the way his mouth just barely hung open, his sturdy, evened breathing through his nose that caused his chest to rise and fall, Kepa now did everything she could to not nuzzle the stubble off of his jaw. The prickle of his facial hair acted like a brush to the suede-like fur on her face, she eagerly combed herself against it, she confidently splaying Gideon in her claiming, person-scent all while purposefully allowing her purring to surely soak its way into Gideon's slumbering subconscious.
Gideon furrowed his eyebrows, wrinkled his nose in a slow shift of innocent confusion, and as he peaked through the narrow of his tired eyes and caught with Kepa's adorable face, he softened, heaved a long, tired sigh through his nose and slumped his arms in a tight grapple about Kepa's little shoulders. She blurt a whispery giggle through the trill of her mildly aggressive, happy purring, and though she now had limited mobility due to the tight, snuggly embrace Gideon had firmly deployed on her little body, she still managed to firmly and slowly nuzzle her face all over Gideon's shoulder and collar bones, purring unabated. After a few firm nudges of her face into Gideon's bare skin, he choked a grumbly little laugh and allowed his left hand to return to the back of her head and ears, like last night, for firm, long strokes of pets down the spill of her softness. Although still trying to wake up, Gideon smacked his lips, shifted his legs from the loose lay he had been in and slowly did what he could to keep from falling back asleep due to all of Kepa's hypnotizing purring. He beamed, the look of gooey, closed-eyed sleepiness still remained glued to his face, though he happily tucked his chin over Kepa's head and groggily peered about the bend of the corner of the couch they were snuggled into, the home about them was sunny and still.
"G'morning," Gideon's much deeper, crackly voice ushered in a splay of whispery sleepiness, though he choked a raspy little laugh and scrunched his bigger shoulders as Kepa's snuggly nuzzling now turned into playfully aggressive nipping on Gideon's earlobe, "Gah-hey, now, missy."
"Good morning," Kepa's gentle voice just barely whispered, and although she laid off the nipping, she still allowed for slow nuzzling in firm sweeps to Gideon's strong, stubbly jawline.
"Are you making ultra-sure I'm yours by all this marking your doing?" Gideon grumbled, he playfully pretended to be annoyed by all of this, though with the way his arms secured about her in a tighter squeeze assured to Kepa that he was floored by all of this lovey attention. He beamed a happy smile, tucked his face down into hers and began to firmly give the flat of her adorable nose a few kisses, "Y'already nabbed me, babe."
"...The storm passed," Kepa whispered, she cleared her throat and now had to run through all the strange nuances of trying to reanimate bodily functions, how to properly run through the motions of what it truly meant to wake up. She fluttered her eyes in the dreamy splay of firm petting Gideon's much bigger hand deployed to the back of her head and down her bigger, soft ears, though she could feel Gideon's cheeky, sleepy gaze held firm to her as she reopened her equally as sleepy gaze and gave him a sheepish little grin, "You actually got me to go to sleep..."
"Hell yeah I did, probably my hugest accomplishment yet," Gideon blurt quietly, he squished his nose into hers as the two smiled in snuggly, sleepy delight, "How did you sleep? Did you STAY asleep?"
"Yeah, I did. I slept... Really well," Kepa seemed beside herself, she finally lifted in a deep inhale and draped her arms about Gideon's neck in innocent though seductive warmth, "Guess the trick is one bad thunderstorm paired with the world's greatest ear rub."
"Seems to be your weakness," Gideon snipped cutely as his bigger hand continued petting, though he only playfully dragged on her ears a bit and allowed his fingers to grip the tip of her left ear in a dainty tug; Kepa retaliated by nuzzling firmly into Gideon's jaw and returning her fangs to Gideon's ear lobe, to which he scrunched and laid off the tugging, "GAH hey, I don't have razor sharp teeth to retaliate with. I also don't want ear piercings, thank you very much."
"You'd look cool with piercings," Kepa mused with a nod, she waggled her eyebrows as the two hovered tight to each other, cozily smushed underneath blankets, they nuzzled deeper into the pillow they shared. She sighed and smiled into his sleepy eyes, the kiss of sunlight that clipped the top of his messy hair made the gold in his eyes immensely prominent. So much so, Kepa sagged and felt herself getting lost in it all, though she carried on in genuine warmth, "Thank you, Gideon... I-I haven't felt this refreshed in so long."
"Happy to help," Gideon whispered, and with care, he cupped the back of her head and snugged her into a warm kiss. With a few slow puckers of warm love, he smiled in the sink of Kepa's lips and relished in the way her arms tightened about his broad neck. They only briefly pulled apart, their noses still cozily squished into each other's cheeks, "You deserve normalcy, y'know?"
"...I didn't even consider that," Kepa whispered as the two hovered in each other's stillness, the gently half-moon gape of their tired eyes aimlessly honed to each other's faces, "You've afforded me a lot. I only hope I can properly give back."
"You don't owe me anything, just finding you inside of this awesome of a lighthouse is enough for me," Gideon sighed in cute contentment, though the two silently hummed in the flutter of eyelids that closed upon returning for more slow puckers of kisses.
Kepa drowned in the warmth surrounding her. Not only was Gideon's body heat enough to keep her cozy for the next millennia, the hot morning sun beamed straight over their heads amidst the stir inside their heavy, shared blanket was equivalent to snuggling into a warm cloud marinating in noontime sun. The stillness of the house was now stirring with life as their gentle hums and tight inhales began to animate into something a little bit more fervent than simple good-morning kisses. The way Gideon's strong arms secured about her much tinier upper body, the stir of their legs and the slither of her tail amidst the mess only barely concealed, Kepa felt her heart begin to run wild with the idea that somehow getting a fresh night of sleep seemingly awoken something inside of her, as if an on-switch had been flipped and she was now properly ready to tackle bigger adventures presented, as opposed to being shy or nervous about it. Due to their tangled circumstances, Kepa felt reality take off at breakneck speeds, the way their bodies intertwined, the way his bigger, able hands began to slide down her small torso in a grip about the curve of her hips, she tilted her head a bit more and was eager to welcome Gideon just a little deeper into her heart with hopes he'd take the bait.
Though eager to claw at new realms of romance and really get a good feel for just what Gideon had to offer in this deeper vein of love, Kepa's hands began to just barely tremble as her clawed fingers wove through Gideon's messy hair. The way his arms flexed to keep her secure in his chest, the gentle, deep rumble of a hum in the back of his throat to insinuate that he kindly understood the call, the way his hands gingerly gripped her hips and began to just barely tug her deeper into his body, Kepa felt every pixel inside of her coding begin to unstitch itself at a very firm reality now rutting tight into her abdomen. Suddenly back tracking, suddenly unsure of just what the heck was going on, now certain she had maybe missed information in her brief study about human anatomy, she gasped a silent little breath, broke the kiss and fluttered her eyes in embarrassed, recoiling dizziness.
"G-Gideon, uh," Kepa staggered in breathy, almost delighted uncertainty, though she squeezed her eyes shut as Gideon cutely began to tuck into her neck and trail innocently firm kisses into her throat. She firmly stared across their lovely living room and common room, her pupils drew to full circles as his hands snugged her body tight into his, once more, the dig of the obvious now firmly prominent against the whole of her stomach. She choked a shy noise and felt as if she was experiencing a similar sensation to skydiving, "I-Is that... Wh-what is that?"
"What's what?" Gideon questioned in a gentle downswing of removing himself from their heightened stirring, though as he loosened his grip from Kepa and caught the look on her face, one of flushed, girly shyness, he furrowed his brow in a sting of cute confusion and reached down in between the two, having felt something upon releasing Kepa from his firm embrace. He grunted, choked a laugh and pulled out, from between the two, the tv remote, "Oh, it's the remote."
"O-Oh, for User's sakes," Kepa hissed with a wide, sheepish grin as she held her forehead. Gideon waggled the long remote around and grunted a laugh, though his phone began to ring. As he sat up a bit to source just where his phone was, he handed the remote to Kepa, to which she lazily thud it to her chest in relief, "Whew, that... That would've been terrifying."
"What a metaphor," Gideon cutely laughed and sat up a bit more, though he sourced his phone and took note that Lash was calling. Certain Kepa was out of the woods, she held her breath as Gideon tossed her a cheeky, downward side-eye and gestured to the remote in her hand, "That remote's too skinny, but I'd say the length is about correct."
Kepa snapped her jaw shut and sat frozen as she watched Gideon answer Lash's call in full, happy nonchalance. Kepa firmly cocked an eyebrow, gently removed the remote from her chest and got a solid assessment of it. Easily almost a foot long, Kepa felt her heart begin to thud firmly in her chest. Now uncertain of her findings, the light research she had already done, she sat with her eyes bulged, mouth shut, and watched as Gideon grunted to get out of their snuggly love nest and off of the couch for good. Knowing she should simply respect Gideon's space and maybe paw for answers once a little deeper into their relationship, she sat up and eyed the remote, though not without side-eyeing the room and understanding that Gideon was now the one to put the little nugget of bait into her brain. She flattened her ears and eyed Gideon in playful, seductive challenge, Gideon's happy, booming voice filled the room with sunshine, he and Lash carried on about impending beach plans, what food would be cooked, how long into the night they'd party, his figure stood haphazardly strewn in his loose tank and sweats; it took everything in Kepa's power to look away, though she grit her teeth and tossed the long remote in a flurry of the sexual frustration that was becoming of her. How she was going to present this new need to Gideon, and so soon, she was entirely unsure.
About an hour had come and gone, and though Kepa was in a mental tizzy due to her equally eventful and uneventful night into morning, she kept busy upstairs fitting into her bikini, preparing to now spend the day with Gideon's older sister and Lash's little brother. Gideon made sure to spend his time downstairs manifesting a solid amount of food for everyone, he tidied his and Kepa's makeshift love-nest the couch consisted of, Kepa eventually came downstairs to help Gideon with the rest of the light party planning before everyone arrived. Upon arrival, Kepa took the reins in ushering Nox and Koko about her home, and her's, Gideon's and Novus's shared common area, which would be the main interior for their get-together, the beach being the focal point. She could tell Gideon was nervous, the way he stood off and held a pensive stare to Kepa and Kepa alone, whilst she gave a nonchalant tour. Dressed in swim trunks and the lazy red tank he had been wearing since yesterday, Kepa did everything she could to be all calm, peppy and collected for Gideon's big sister and to not give prolonged full-body, ogling sweeps in her new boyfriend's direction. Grateful Mara and Lash showed up with them, as well as Novus's return from the night prior, the group unwinded, opened the porch door, and properly spread out so to prepare for grilling outside, splashing in the ocean water not even a hundred feet from their sunny patio, everything seemed right in the world, though Kepa escaped to the fridge as her social battery began to plummet; the topic of this morning continued to still haunt her in delightful confusion, she hurriedly began to pour herself a drink and tensely muttered something to herself, down to her chore.
"Are you casting a spell on that drink?" Mara blurt with a wide grin, having been assessing Kepa's lovely little garden inside the alcove of the lighthouse spire. Mara flinched as Kepa urgently jolted clear out of her fur, the kick of her impressive back legs had her cutely springing at least a foot off the ground and back to the glossy concrete with a huff of exasperated annoyance, proven by the sag of her forehead into the palm of her hand. Her tail angrily twitched upwards as Mara blurt a loud giggle of apologetic glee and pressed closer to Kepa, both girls were dressed in their adorable bikinis, though also loosely draped in cotton shorts and tanks, "Didn't mean to spook you... You okay? You seem SO on edge."
"I am," Kepa hissed in a rise of urgency, she gripped the counter, flattened her ears and firmly peered out the patio doors. Although Lash and Gideon bickered at the grill, and Nox and Koko lazily lounged nearby, they still were close enough to hear conversation from the kitchen had it been loud enough. Kepa turned back to face Mara, she stood between Mara and the gape of the patio's double doors, at the kitchen's big island, "I'm really struggling, Mar, but... I-I like... CAN'T tell you about it."
"Whynot!" Mara whispered in a downswing of disappointment, Kepa pinned her ears to her skull and urgently shook her head, the flicker of her cute pink hair, all swung in a high ponytail, glistened from the sunlight that glint into their lovely abode.
"Because, I doubt it's information you want about your cousin," Kepa staggered shyly, she eyed Mara in uncertainty, as if to wonder if Mara would guffaw and allow Kepa to spill anyways, though Mara tucked her head back in confusion and looked off in furrowed thought.
"My cousin?" Mara staggered in innocent confusion, though Kepa gestured her hand a little.
"Gideon?" Kepa quietly droned, Mara jolted and flagged her hands.
"OH! Oh, right, sorry," Mara choked, the two continued to fly under the radar, Kepa shyly peered over her shoulder and was glad Gideon had his back turned and was remaining tight at the grill with Lash's loud and obnoxious banter. Mara shrugged and stood closer to Kepa to show care, "I-I mean... Sure, might be weird to hear about something intimate dealing with my cousin, but you seem really concerned and I can disconnect myself temporarily."
"It's really embarrassing, on my part," Kepa staggered, she swept her hand through her cute, choppy bangs and now began to look desperate in the way of being hopeful that Mara wouldn't make fun of her.
"How so? What happened?" Mara lit up a little and eyed Kepa in rising, girly cheek, "Lash told me Gideon stayed the night..."
"He did, he lulled me to sleep," Kepa stated in a serious tone, the look on her face read humbled impress, Mara knowingly bugged her eyes in a very equal amount of feverish surprise and grappled the counter.
"He WHAT?" Mara whispered, Kepa bit her lip and firmly nodded as she shyly continued to rub her forehead, her eyes peered to Gideon's back across the way, she heaved a dreamy sigh and felt her veins wiggle. Mara furrowed her eyebrows and shrugged, "Well, what's so embarrassing about that?"
"No, what's embarrassing is what happened this morning," Kepa mumbled, she gestured to the couch, "W-We... Fell asleep on the couch and woke up with each other, and, well... We started making out after we woke up."
"Oh, User," Mara lilted as she cocked an eyebrow, looked off and closed her eyes in preparation for information she likely did not want or need about her great uncle, though she promised Kepa she'd hear her out; with a knowing grimace of a smile, Mara eyed Kepa in dreaded urgency and meeped a conclusion, as if she wanted answers but didn't all at the same time, "You guys had sex, didn't you."
"No! No, we didn't," Kepa quietly urged, she firmly shook her head and pleadingly peered into Mara's eyes, "No, but... W-We were making out and I started to feel something hard press into my stomach, and-"
"Ehh, Kepa," Mara sharply grit her teeth and now firmly rubbed her forehead, as if to make clear to Kepa that she was pushing it, in terms of giving too much information about Gideon.
"No, no, please hear me, it was the tv remote," Kepa rushed as she gestured her hands to her chest, Mara visibly loosened and blurt a trembly laugh of uncertainty as Kepa wrinkled her nose and carried on, "But... H-He made this remark..."
"About the remote?" Mara wondered confusedly.
"I asked what it was, and he discovered it was the remote, but I surely thought it was his... Y'know," Kepa gestured down a little and tossed her flustered, terrified gaze out the porch doors, Gideon's positioning remained unchanged, "Lash started calling, but before he picked up Lash's call, he made some remark about the remote being too skinny, but the length was not far off."
Mara snapped her jaw shut, peered hard into Kepa's eyes and, to Kepa's terror, Mara's eyes firmly dart to the living room area, and with a sly little scurry to the couch, Mara grappled for the tv remote, picked it up, held it out for Kepa to see and gave Kepa a look of floored shock. Kepa covered her face before she urgently began to flag Mara down and whisper for her to put the remote down and return back to the kitchen. Mara choked a silent laugh of full surprise, tossed the remote back to the couch and sauntered back to the kitchen all while eyeing Gideon from far across the way. Kepa grit her teeth and held her hands to her cheeks in full, unabated, flustered nervousness, as if she had no clue what to say or do in this situation. Mara came back to the island they stood at, rested her hand on her hip, leaned the other side of her hip to the counter and bobbed a sly little nod of sassy knowing.
"Alright, Gideon," Mara chirped quietly with a mildly annoyed giggle, "He totally said that to get inside your head, you know that, right? Whether he's being honest or not."
"NOW do you understand the incantations I'm giving my drink?" Kepa loudly whispered as she grappled the frosty glass of lemonade she had poured herself, prepared to potentially pair it with a few different alcohols available to them on the counter, "And then we never revisited the conversation. I ALSO have no clue how human anatomy works, is it just like... This foot-long of nonsense hanging out with him at all times?"
"No, no, User," Mara choked a hard laugh and crumpled over herself, Kepa crossed her arms and now lost count at how many times she had tossed her eyes to Gideon's figure, across the way. Mara stood to correction and wiped the tears from her eyes as she tried to rein in her whispery giggling, "No, that's probably the size when its... Well..."
"WHEN ITS WHAT!" Kepa urged nervously.
"Erect?" Mara muttered through the clench of her teeth, she shook her head and narrowed her gaze to Kepa in curiosity, "Surely the guys in Castle Run have this type of anatomy? Blood rushes to it, it becomes rock hard, that's... How sex works."
"I mean, yeah, I get that, but... That remote is REALLY long, lion gargoyles are, well..." Kepa staggered, her voice shook, she looked out of her element.
"Are cats, and... Not nearly as blessed as humans, I'll take it," Mara cocked an eyebrow and patiently stood with Kepa, now understanding that there was a species disconnect, "You previously told me that lion gargoyles don't have sex for pleasure, huh..."
"No, it's strictly business, strictly a mating ritual," Kepa stated seriously, though she gently rested her hand to her collar and peered to Gideon, once more, "But... It's always been a huge, taboo thing to desire it. I can't stop thinking about it but I somehow feel wrong for wanting it."
"And, here comes Gideon, where all humans do is have sex for fun, mostly," Mara quietly laughed and tidied her cute, choppy pastel blue hair, "Yeah, humans find great pleasure in that kind of thing, it's not only meant for procreation, but it's a tool to build trust and intimacy, as well as keep your relationship healthy. Gideon's probably assuming you guys find pleasure in it, as well, so any sly remarks sent your way could potentially be invitations."
"It's supposed to be fun?" Kepa nervously wondered, though Mara huffed a shy little laugh and shook her head.
"Yes, it's a LOT of fun, can last for awhile, there's a lot of ins and outs to it... Pun intended," Mara continued to try and collect all her laughter, though she lovingly gripped Kepa's upper arm and could see she was struggling to really grapple all the information, "You should just be honest with Gideon... Let him know you're flying blind, he's not going to judge you."
"I ALREADY made a fool of myself while he was on vacation, he took a picture of his bandage in the mirror and got his body in the shot on accident, and I was stupid enough to ask him what was in his sweat pants," Kepa wheezed desperately, Mara cupped her hand over her mouth and squeezed her eyes shut as she desperately tried to quell her laughter. Kepa grit her fangs and now firmly gripped Mara's shoulders so to give her a good shake, "I'm an IDIOT!"
"No! No, you're not, you just don't know how it works fully, but it's okay!" Mara urged cutely, "If you're too shy to ask Gideon, I don't mind filling you in fully, but we should probably do it later and maybe through text, cause... I'll just be a wreck through the whole conversation. This is my cousin, after all..."
"I know, I know, I'm sorry," Kepa held her hands over her closed eyes and shook her head, "I can ask him, it just... GUH. I have so much red tape in my mind I'd have to dance around, it's not even funny."
"Well, why? You know he'd give it to you straight, hard and fast," Mara now crumpled into a full show of wheezing laughter as Kepa sagged and looked off in aimless, frustrated defeat. Mara clutched her stomach and cutely gripped Kepa's lower arm, "I'm kidding! I'm kidding. Just message me any time, I'm happy to help you. I'll just pretend we're talking about anyone but Gideon."
"I'm clearly gunna need all the help I can get," Kepa muttered in a downswing of dreaded defeat as she tossed her gaze out to the back of Gideon's head once more, her heart raced with the sheer tidal wave of new emotions, new experiences right at her fingertips, though she knew it'd all be at the cost of her own undoings, the cost of walls removed and monumental flaws drenched in spotlights, something she wagered affordability, at this time.
