Chapter 3: A Whole New World

Andrew kept the canopy locked and shut as he glanced around him. From what he can tell, the 15 soldiers looked to be just base security but their SA80 assault rifles are not something to mess around with. Andrew looked around and thought about just flying away but those bullets can still do damage to his fighter and he didn't have enough fuel to go anywhere. As he looked around he saw that the group of girls they helped was talking with what looked to be an officer in charge of these soldiers. It looked like it was a pretty tense argument as the girl with the beret and getting into the infantry officer, who was also arguing with her back.

"What do you think they are saying?" Nicholai asked over the radio.

"No clue, but I think she is trying to get them to stand down so that we can get out," Andrew replied. The argument continued for about 5 more minutes before the infantry officer waved down his men. As the soldiers lowered their weapons, then he saw the girl with the red beret walk up to them. She waved at them and then gave him the thumbs up.

"Ok, Nicholai, listen up. For now, we are going to go along with whatever this is. Do not make a sudden move or else we are good as dead," Andrew said as he flipped a switch and the canopy opened.

"Roger".

Major Mcguiness sighed as she rubbed her forehead. This day could not be more stressful. First, what was supposed to be a standard patrol, turned into a rescue mission for Princess Samira, who was thought to have died when the Neuroi appeared, and now there were two fighters here that she has no idea where they came from. When she landed, she was told by an intelligence officer that there were no known Liberion or Orussian bases anywhere near the Sinai. This added on to the fact that the base security almost made the situation worse by pointing their guns at them, just giving her one of the worst headaches she has had in years.

The canopy of the fighters opened and out came four pilots, dressed in flight suits with two wearing helmets found on Fuso and Liberion pilots while the other two wore helmets found on Orussian pilots. She then approached them and saluted.

"I am Major Annabelle Mcguiness, executive officer of the 139th Fighter Wing," Annabelle introduced herself.

"Lieutenant Commander Andrew W. Vandegrift, commander of the 66th Naval Fighter Squadron, UN Task Force Leviathan," Andrew replied back.

'Task Force Leviathan? UN? What is this man talking about?' Annabelle thought to herself. Meanwhile, Andrew was also having the same discussion in his head.

'She sounds British but I don't know any 139th fighter wing. And not only that, but she is way too young to be a major for any military. Plus, why is she not wearing any pants?!" Andrew was slowly getting a headache from all the questions that are propping up in his head. For now, Andrew decided to get some information out of this.

"Well, at least I don't have to salute you. So, can I still trust you to keep your word that no harm will happen to us?" Andrew asked Annabelle.

Annabelle looked Andrew right into his eyes and stated firmly, "You have my word that there will be no harm be done on you or your pilots."

Andrew looked into her eyes and saw that she was not waving nor looking sideways. She was telling the truth.

'This girl seems to be telling the truth. Well, the only way we are getting out of this is to trust her,' Andrew concluded as he nodded.

"Very well ma'am. That case, lead the way," Andrew stated. Annabelle nodded and the group was about to walk off until they heard someone clear their throat. They turned to the direction it came from and looked at the British infantry officer.

"With respect, ma'am. But I believe that we should disarm these blokes first. We don't know who they are and where they came from so we can not take any chances." Nicholai growled at this as tried to reach for his pistol when Alexa stopped him.

"Well, you got a point there limey," Andrew said as he pulled his pistol but instead of handing it to the infantry officer, he offered it to Annabelle.

"Since you are the only one I can trust right now, I don't mind handling it to you, ma'am," Andrew replied, giving her a quick wink. Annabelle was surprised at first but then nodded. She took Andrew's pistol and motioned one of her witches to disarm the rest. Once that was done, she then led the group towards the exit and to the administration building.

As they left the hangar, Yusuke noticed that one of the witches was being led off to a waiting ambulance.

"Is that the witch we helped earlier?" Yusuke asked.

"Yes, and a good thing you did. She's a person we all thought was dead and then suddenly popped back up for us," Annabelle answered as they approached the administrative building. They entered and after walking though the same hallways Andrew and rest are familiar with from their world, they came up to a door. Annabelle opened it and it was your basic room with one side having a one-way window and a table in the middle with 5 chairs.

"I wish there was better accommodations but this is the best we currently have. Rest assured, there is no person on the other side of the window so you do not have to worry about anyone eavesdropping on you," Annabelle stated. Andrew and his pilot seriously doubted that but said nothing.

"Well, this is better than nothing. Alright you all," Andrew then motioned everyone to head in.

"I need to debrief my girls and we may have to call you each in if there is anything we need to confirm. Again, no harm will be done on any of you and if something does happen, you can report it to me," Annabelle said.

"I trust you ma'am. Just don't have us in here too long, I mean one room with 2 guys, one girl and an old Russian bear is not a good combination," Andrew joked, which caused Alexa to giggle, Yusuke to chuckle and Nicholai to groan. However, when Andrew expected a laugh or even a smirk from the major, he got a questioning look instead.

"Um, don't you mean Orussian?" Annabelle asked, which caused everyone to also look confused.

"Um, no Russian. You know, the country that borders Europe and Asia. Alexa is also Russian while Yusuke hails from Japan and I'm American naturally." Andrew replied. Andrew noticed Annabelle's eyes bulge and then she closed them and rubbed her forehead.

"Well… Um, ok then. I will be back in a moment. Please excuse me," Annabelle simply said as she left the room.

"I wonder what her problem is?' Nicholai asked as he took a seat and leaned back.

"No clue. She looked pretty surprised when I said all of that," Andrew noted as he also took a seat.

"You know, there is something that confuses me here," Yusuke said.

"I swear, if you say we are in another dimension or that we got isekai to another world, I am somewhat inclined to believe you but you are going to have to prove it to me,' Andrew said, not lifting his head.

"Well, for starters, you guys notice those SA-80s. They didn't have Picatinny Rails on them and they had the old SUSAT sights. I may be a pilot but I know from the British soldiers we worked with before and the Royal Marines in the fleet that they use ACOGs now," This perked Andrew and he lifted his head.

"Now that you mention it, yeah they didn't,"Andrew replied.

"And not only that, when we were walking to this building, I looked around and saw that there were Jaguars and F-4s on this airbase in RAF markings. Now, I know for a fact that those are out of service."

"Was that why you were trailing behind us?" Nicholai asked.

"Hey, someone had to look around," Yusuke answered, shrugging.

"Well, they could have used them as reserves. It isn't uncommon to see old aircraft in low-intensity operation areas," Alexa pointed out. This is true since the war had stretched so thin that older aircraft were being taken out of boneyards, refurbished and used as secondary line units as the more modern fighters were sent to the front.

'But that's the thing, the Middle East is far from a secondary line. In fact, there is still fighting from last I remember. So, it doesn't make sense that we are seeing older aircraft here align with those laser shooting drones, I think we may have entered into some alternate world," Yusuke concluded.

"Kid, I think you need to lay off the science fiction," Nicholai commented.

"You got a better idea as to why we are in this mess?"

"Ok, enough," Andrew said before the two started arguing, "Look, I get that what you are saying does have some merit but to have gone to an alternate world is mind-boggling."

"I admit it isn't something that I can wrap my head around it either but that is the only thing I can explain. Plus, I don't think anyone has girls flying around with anti-tank rifles or machine guns shooting black drones that have literal homing missiles," Yusuke pointed out. The group got silent as that statement sank in.

Finally Andrew sighed and pulled out his map from his breast pocket, "Ok, no point in just guessing what is happening. First we need to map how the hell we got here and then from there we will have to see how to proceed."

Briefing Room

Annabelle arrived at a packed briefing room and as soon as she opened the door, someone noticed her.

"Officer on deck!" The room got silent as everyone stood at attention.

"As you were," Annabelle said as she made her way to the middle of the room. Once she made her way to the front of the room, she turned around to see that 15 pair of eyes were looking at her.

"We will now begin the debriefing of this situation. First, let's hear from those who first met with these pilots."

"That would be us ma'am," Khadija and Wendy both stood up.

"State your name and rank for the record."

"Ma'am, 1st Lieutenant Khadija Nasir. Myself and 1st Lieutenant Wendy Maloney were patrolling our assigned sector for the day when we were directed to check out a contact that had popped up on the AWACs radar. We went to investigate and found the princess was engaging with drones that were engaging her. Then the two fighters appeared and Lieutenant Maloney engaged them," Khadija answered. This is where Wendy chimed in.

"I fired two Sparrow missiles at them and kept my radar on them but they were able to defeat the missiles. From there, they assisted us in defeating the drones as the rest of the squadron showed up."

Annabelle thought for a minute before saying, "Were you the ones to make contact or were they the ones to reach out to you."

"They were the ones to reach out to us. We had assumed at first that they may have been Neuroi who assimilated out equipment so we did not initiate first contact," Khadija replied.

"I can't fault you for that. The coalition is still building up its forces so there shouldn't be any human forces out here except for us for now. Though, I have to wonder how they arrived here," Annabelle stated.

"Um, ma'am. Permission to speak?" Annabelle looked at the direction of the voice and saw a hand raised. The hand belonged to a girl that looked to be about 15 years old. She had red long hair braided into two ponytails and wore glasses over her brown eyes. Like everyone, she was wearing the standard BDU of the Britainian military but had her leaves rolled up.

"Permission granted. State your name and rank," Annabelle replied.

"Ma'am, Pilot Officer Anna Erwood. When we were on our way back to base, I looked at their aircraft and something caught my eye."

"And what would that be?"

"I noticed that on the Tomcat, there was an odd looking pod. At first, I thought that it was a recon camera but it looked too streamlined and I detected unusual tech from both aircraft, something that I have never seen before," Anna replied.

Annabelle thought about this. Anna's magic ability allows her to sense electromagnetic currents in the air, making her great for jamming Neuroi signals so that they can get the upper hand. The fact that she was able to tell that the systems in the aircraft are different is something.

"And you are sure they are not something that we normally see on a Tomcat or Fulcrum?" Annabelle asked to which Anna shook her head.

"While I did sense some electronics that are familiar, there are a log of things that I do not know," Anna replied.

Annabelle thought about it some more before saying, "Looks like we are going to have to talk to one of the pilots. We need to piece things together and we need to see and know where they came from. Now, I need two volunteers."

"Ok, so we are currently here and we were here so," Andrew muttered as he drew a line from the fleet's last known position and where they are now. Andrew leaned back and everyone took a look at the map.

"So, we in essence transported about 4,000 miles from our original position and arrived in the Middle East," Nicholai stated.

"I am starting to believe Yusuke now. I think we may have been teleported to another world,' Alexa noted.

Andrew continued to look at the map, his mind racing. Being transported so far, old equipment, last shooting drones, and most of all girls who are barely military age, shooting these drones down with machine guns, missiles and who knows what. There is no other logical explanation that the world and the fact that all of this is happening in the Middle East, a hotspot of activity and continued fighting.

Suddenly, they heard footsteps and Andrew quickly put the map into his breast pocket. The others got into a more natural position with Yusuke leaning against the window, Nicholai in the other seat with his head down pretending to sleep, and Alexa leaning on the wall and looking at her nails.

The door opened and in walked two girls. From their looks, Andrew had to guess they were in their late teens, maybe 17 and 16. The older one had red hair tied in a ponytail. She had on a short sleeved shirt that had the rank of Flying Officer, or First Lieutenant on her shoulders. She had the flight wings and is familiar with on the right side of her chest and the name "Finnigan" on the left. She wore a black skirt with grey knee high socks with red stripes and wore standard issue combat boots. The second girl had the same uniform, or Andrew thought it was the same uniform style, but instead the rank was for a Pilot Officer, or Second Lieutenant and she had short blonde hair with a red beret on her head. She had fingerless gloves and knee high combat boots. The name "Williams" was on her left chest.

The one with the red hair looked around and asked, "What's going on in here? The guard outside said that they heard some movement."

"Well, you know, just walking around an empty room with no idea if there is someone snooping on us," Yusuke replied, pointing at the window. This got him a glare from the red head.

"I thought the major told you that no one was in that room," The girl said.

"Little girl, if we believed everything someone told us, we wouldn't be here right now," Nicholai replied. The red head growled.

"You got a mouth on you Orussian," The girl retorted.

Before Nicolai could retort, Andrew sent him a glare to shut him up and asked, "So, what do we owe the pleasure of you two fine ladies?"

"The major would like to speak to you. There are some questions that need answers, " The red head replied, causing everyone to straighten out.

'Well, that is no surprise. I also got some questions so I'll come along," Andrew replied, getting up from his seat and motioning to his squadmates to stand down. He then followed the girls out of the room. They passed by the other room and Andrew glanced over and sure enough, there was no one inside and nothing was on.

'That doesn't mean that they were not in there before,' Andrew thought to himself. As they made their way to the briefing room, they walked by more girls who saluted but also stared at Andrew for awhile as they passed.

"There are a lot of young girls on this base. You guys help on the base or what?" Andrew asked.

"This is partly a fixed-wing and witch base so there are going to be some more witches on base," The red head responded.

"Witches? Is that what you guys are…...um?" Andrew asked but couldn;'t finish the question as he didn't know their names.

"Flying Officer Monica Finnigan and this is Pilot Officer Elizabeth Williams," Monica replied, motioning at Elizabeth who smiled and nodded at Andrew who returned it.

"Right, so Flying Officer Finnigan, what do you mean witches? Like you all fly on brooms or something?" Andrew asked.

"Witches haven't flown on brooms in a long time," Monica replied, sounding a bit annoyed.

'Yeah, we were flying around you guys. You know, in our striker units," Elizabeth chimed in.

"So, that's what those are called. I was wondering about that," Andrew replied, glad that one of his questions was answered.

"Are you sure that you are a Liberion or have you been living under a rock?" Monica replied in an annoyed tune.

"I mean, if that is what you are calling America here, then sure I am but never even met an actual witch until today," Andrew replied.

"You Liberions I swear…" Monica muttered. Andrew gave her a confused look before Elizabeth chimed in.

"Don't worry about her. She is just like that. I don't have anything against Liberions. I really like your music and how everyone can be free-spirited," Elizabewth replied, causing Andrew to chuckle.

"That free-spirited attitude has gotten me into a lot of trouble so I wouldn't say that is a positive," Andrew replied, causing Elizabeth to giggle and Monica to roll her eyes.

They finally arrived at the meeting room. Upon entering, Andrew saw the Major and to his left saw about 15 other girls, two of which Andrew recognized one of them as the witch that shot at him.

Sensing the tense situation, and not wanting to be rude, Andrew stood at attention and then saluted the major.

"Ma'am, Lieutenant Commander Vandegrift reporting as requested," Andrew said firmly. Behind him, Monica gave him a nod for his behaviour in front of another officer.

"At ease commander, as you said, we are the same rank after all," Annabelle replied with a slight smile. Andrew returned the smile and to an "At Ease" position.

"What can I do for you ma'am?" Andrew asked.

"There are a few questions that we need your help with. We still do not know where you came from and add on to the fact one of my girls noticed that your fighters are pretty advanced from the ones that we know," Annabelle stated.

Andrew raised an eyebrow, "You girl can do that? Without tearing the plane apart?"

Annabelle looked over to Anna and nodded. Anna stood up and replied.

"My magic ability allows me to sort of scan vehicles or Neuroi for electronics and allows me to see and possibly jam them. You fighters, though, have electronics I have never seen before and even not from the Neuroi," Anna replied.

"Hmmmmm, well I think I will be able to help you with that," Andrew replied. He then took out the map he had in his breast pocket. He then approached Annabelle, which caused everyone to flinch but she motioned them to stand down, though Monica was on edge about having an unknown man approach their XO.

Andrew then placed the map on the desk that was in the center of the room and motioned Annabelle to take a look. Annabelle approached the table and soon the other witches, their curiosity taking over, got up and also approached to take a look and saw that it was completely…. different.

"Germany, Russia, China, India, Japan, France, the United Kingdom, South Korea, America, Canada, Mexico? What the bloody hell is this?" One of the witches muttered. Meanwhile, Annabelle continued to look at the map. Not only were the names of countries wrong but also the geology of the continents were also wrong, and she was not the only one to notice it too.

"What the hell is all of this?! None of these continents or countries are correct," Khadija exclaimed and then grabbed Andrew by his neck collar, "Where the hell did you get this? Who the hell are you?!" Andrew not wanting to aggravate the girl, stayed calm and quiet.

"Leftenuet, let him go or else I will have to ask you to leave," Annabelle stated, getting closer to the two.

"I assume you will be explaining what this is," Monica asked, ignoring the outburst and pointing at the map. She was pointing at the Middle East with some Xs and numbers over the countries.

"Well, this is going to be a long story," Andrew stated.

"I believe we have the time," Annabelle replied, looking at her watch.

"Alright then, but before I start, " Andrew then pointed at a board on the other side of the room that had the date with the year being '91', "Is that year correct?"

2 Hours Later

"And well, that is pretty much the gist of it," Andrew replied, finally completing his story. It took him a lot longer than he had hoped in explaining the situation but it had to be said. For the witches, the looks of shock and surprise was written all over. Andrew can see that Annabella and Monica looked calm but the rest of the girls just couldn't believe it.

"Wait, that can't be real….. this sounds like some bad sci-fi movie or something," Khadija stated, confusion in her voice, "Are you seriously telling us that you are from the future?"

"Well, considering how my magic detected their tech in their fighters, it isn't that hard to believe," Anna replied.

"But, they are like the fighters now, so how can we even know for sure he and his pilots are from the future?" One witch asked.

"Well, for starters, my fighter has a much more powerful engine than the F-14As you guys are familiar with and Nicholai's Fulcrum is the latest model for their carriers. Plus, you tell me how many of your pilots can effectively avoid a Sparrow missile," Andrew pointed out, "Also, well I know for the fact your SA-80 rifles are complete shit and that you guys are still using the L1A1s right?"

That caused most of the girls to flinch. It is true that the new rifle has had problems, but it wasn't reported to the public yet since the government didn't want the public to know that their new rifle wasn't working.

"And one more thing, I assume that the Eurofighter has been running into some issues in regards to the development right?" Andrew asked, causing everyone to be surprised. The Karlsland-Britanian joint Eurofighter project was supposed to be the one that would allow both countries to develop an advanced fighter and striker unit for their witches, however the Karlsland chancellor had proposed of leaving the program and the Kaiser was also thinking about leaving the program, causing a stir in Britania.

"How do you know that?" Monica asked.

"History books. I was an aircraft nut when I was a kid so I read a lot about aircraft history. And well, there is something that can prove I am from the future," Andrew then reached into his pocket and pulled out a black rectangular box.

"This here is a phone that is widely used in my world," Andrew explained.

"A phone? But where are the dials or buttons?" Wendy asked.

"Well, it doesn't need them. You can even use your face to open it," Andrew then positioned the phone in front of his face and pressed a button on the side. It came on and then it unlocked and Andrew swiped up, revealing a menu of apps.

"Kind of think of it as a Sony walkman and a phone mixed together. Let's see here," Andrew browsed his music selection, "I hope you girls like Rick Astley." He then played the one song that he grew listening to and it became popular again for a specific reason back in the early 2010s, "Never Going to Give You Up."

Two witches perked up at that, "You have that song?" They asked as the song began to play from Andrew's phone.

"It sounds as if you are listening to him sing in person," Elizabeth said.

"That is some really nice technology," Anna noted as some of the witches sang to the song and danced too.

"Ok, that is enough for now," Annabelle said with a smile, "Lieutenant Commander, I would like to invite you and your pilots to have dinner with us. I will explain the situation that we are dealing with then and also to get to know you."

"Well, we can't really go anywhere and I always wanted to fight some aliens as a kid. Will we be able to have any good lodging? I kind of don't want to sleep in my fighter plane if I can avoid it." Andrew asked.

"Of course. Monica and Elizabeth will escort you all to your guest rooms," Annabelle stated.

"Thank you ma'am," Andrew replied, saluting before following Monica and Elizabeth out. Once he left, Annabelle sighed.

"Everyone, you are dismissed. And I expect all of you to be on your best behaviour at dinner," Annabell sent a glare to Khadija who nodded. Everyone began to leave, allowing Annabelle to mutter to herself.

"I better give the colonel a call. Knowing her, she is probably going to enjoy this."

El Nouzha Airport

Alexandria, Egypt

Current Main Headquarters for the Mediterranean Sea Task Force

A woman sighed as she waited inside the main office of the airport. She wore a flight jacket but it was unbuttoned, revealing a white short sleeved shirt that had the first few buttons off, revealing her cleavage. She had black stockings on her legs and combat boots. She has brown eyes and short brown hair and was twirling her cap in her hand.

"Rare to see you this bored?" A voice called out to the witch. She turned her head and saw who was addressing her. Given her dark blue uniform, blue cap and naval markings, she was from the Orussian Navy. She had white hair and an eye patch over her right eye. She wore black stockings and black shoes and her uncovered purple left eye looked at the witch and a smirk on her face.

"Good to see that you are still the same Lilya," The witch replied. Major Lilya Alexeyevna Stalikov was one of Orussia's top witch aces, having fought the Neuroi at a young age. Born from a wealthy family, she shied away from the comfortable life to fight for Orussia and humanity. Now, she is the squadron commander of the 3rd Witch Naval Regiment on the Admiral Kunzetsov, the Orussian carrier that arrived a few days ago.

"Well, it has only been a few months ago when we had that joint training exercise, Mary, back then you were more energetic." Lilya replied. Colonel Mary Jones was the commander of the 139th's Chimera Squadron and she was with them a few days ago when she was called here for a meeting.

"Well, back then we had exercises. Here we are fighting a war and I am in the rear for a meeting. I have no idea what the contents of it are," Mary replied.

"What, you don't know?" Lilya asked, surprised.

"Nothing. Just told that it is important enough for me to leave my squadron," Mary huffed, twirling in her chair.

"Well, I can't say yet but it is pretty important. Trust me on that," Lilya replied. Soon after, officers both witches and mundane soldiers, began filing in. Soon, a general walked in with an aid holding a projector. The aide began setting up the projector.

"Ok, since everyone is here, we can not start the briefing," the general stated. "First things first, the landings at Abu Dhabi were successful; however they were also attacked by a long-range attack, origin unknown. Reports indicate 15% of the landing force was lost. Also, our defences in Jerusalem went offline, meaning it has fallen."

The aid finished and turned on the projector and put up the updated map. The map showed that most of the Arabian Peninsula was covered in red, hinting at Neuroi positions, and two blue areas hinting at the coalition, Abu Dhabi and the Sinai.

"The Empire of Fuso have announced that they will be sending a naval and land task force to reinforce the force at Abu Dhabi and the Liberions have three carriers on the way to assist us while they are also sending two to help out the forces at Abu Dhabi. In regards to ground forces, they are still coming in through air and sea and the surviving UKJ forces are currently being reorganized into a defense line in the Sinai."

Mary raised her head and asked, "Sir, most of this is all stuff we all could have been briefed at our bases. What is the point of having all of us here?"

"Being blunt as always huh Jones," the general commented before continuing, "Well, we have a plan to give the Neuroi a bloody noise and will be our first counter-attack. That is why you are all here."

Suddenly, there was a knock on the door and a head popped in.

"Sir, Colonel Jones is needed sir," The person said.

"Can it wait?"

"Um, no sir. It's kind of important, and you will be briefed on this as well," the person said.

"Very well. Jones, you are allowed to go," the general stated. Mary, confused at what was going on, got up and walked out the room. She looked over to Lilya who gave her a shrug.

The individual brought her to a phone and handed it to her.

"This is Colonel Jones. Who is this?" Mary asked. After a few minutes, her eyes widened and then she began to smile.

"Well, this is interesting. Make sure you show them respect and do not do anything to them. I would like to meet them when I get back," Mary replied through the phone. She then began to think to herself.

'Why do all the interesting things happen when I am gone? Well, whatever. Looks like these guests are interesting. Looking forward to returning to base a lot more now.'

Well, finally got around to updating this. A lot of things in my personal life happened so now that things are calm, I will get back to work on my fanfics. Hope you all like the new chapter. And here is the list of ships in the fleet that Andrew and his pilots are a part of:
