A/N: Enjoy!

Chapter 7

Six Years Ago.

The Bar.

"Mind if I sit here?"

I started to say something but Mark appeared.

"Drinking really?" He asked and I just took my shot of whiskey.

"Be happy I'm not drunk." I retorted and the man standing there chuckled.

"Come on, the food has arrived." Mark said, grabbing my hand and leading me back to our table.

"Oh look, she's returned."

I bucked but Mark caught me and moved me away from that table.

"I will not continue this dinner so choose now!" I demanded and Mark nodded.

"Just meet me outside okay?" He asked.

I just shook my head and walked out of the restaurant.

"Stupid asshole." I muttered to myself.

I rarely got mad at Mark and he rarely did anything to piss me off so I was confused as to why his attitude was like this tonight.

Twenty fucking minutes.

That's how long I waited for him to come out and when he did he didn't even look at me.

The drive back to our place was silent and I couldn't tell because of how dark it was but it looked like his jaw was slightly swollen.

What the fuck is really happening?

Waldorf Astoria, Conference Room

He was studying me.

I felt dangerously exposed, which is crazy considering everything that had transpired.

"Ahem."

Sam didn't move but I felt my eyes grow wide when I saw who was standing there.

A small flicker of a memory flashed into my head.

"You could bump into me anytime you want."

"Mr. Evans, I can always come back later." The man said and Sam took a step back.

"That won't be necessary, we can finally begin our meeting."

There it was again. That business tone, it was sexy.

"You sure, you two look mighty busy."

"Mr. Puckerman, please begin your presentation." Sam answered, walking over to his seat and looking at me expectedly.

I moved over to the table where the other packet was sitting and sat down waiting for whatever presentation he was talking about.

"Okay now that we're all here and paying attention, I can begin." Mr. Puckerman said, winking at me.

Ugh. Not interested.

"Evans Corps is going to take over Jackson and Jackson Industries."

"Wait what?" I asked, shaking my head. "I'm not helping you acquire the company I work for!"

Mr. Puckerman smirked.

"You didn't even tell her why she was here?" He asked Sam who for the first time looked annoyed.

I smirked. This Puckerman guy was about to become my best friend.

"No he didn't." I said, batting my eyes at Mr. Puckerman and purposely leaning in allowing my breast to spill out of my blouse.

I saw Sam's jaw clench.

Good.

I tilted my head and bit my lip waiting for either of them to respond before Sam got up and walked around the table and stopped right in front of me.

"Mr. Puckerman, we will be back in five minutes." Sam said, grabbing my arm and lifting me from my seat before leading me out of the conference room.

"Flirting with him isn't going to get the reaction you want out of me and if you think baiting him is fun I suggest you stop now." He said.

I just raised an eyebrow at him and he shook his head.

Six Years Ago.

Inside the restaurant.

Before Mark left.

"Seriously, what is her problem?"

Mark let out a sigh and shrugged. "She felt like she was being belittled." He answered and Harmony rolled her eyes.

"I literally tried to be nice and have open dialogue with her but she's so hostile!"

"She's not hostile, don't say that about her." Mark replied passively.

Harmony grabbed his arm and took him off to a secluded area.

"You're seriously going to defend her attitude to me?"

"I'm doing anything but she's not hostile." He snapped back, Harmony crossed her arms and shot him a knowing look.

"So you're choosing her."

Mark ran his hand over his face and groaned. "I'm not doing this with you right now, I'm not choosing her but you can't expect me to just let you speak poorly of her."

"You fuck me every single day at work and tell me you want to be with me then you have the nerve to bring her to our dinner? What else am I supposed to think?"

Mark sighed and pulled her into him. "Babe, it's not like that at all. The plan's still in place and I plan on ending things very soon. Just trust me okay?" He pleaded kissing her softly.

Harmony rolled her eyes but nodded. "One week is all you get and I expect you over tonight."

Mark smirked. "All night." He agreed. "I'll piss her off tonight and then leave."

Harmony seemed to like that because she smiled at him.

Someone, however, did not like what he was hearing. The scheming pissed him off.

Sam overheard their entire conversation and decided to make his presence known.

He didn't know the woman but for the brief moment he was in her presence he liked that she didn't take shit from anyone.

He walked over to where the two were standing and cleared his throat.

"Ahem." He said and they both jumped away from each other.

"Excuse us." The woman said before walking away and just before the man could he stepped in his way.

"Can I help you?"

"Cheating on your woman with someone you work with is a stupid move." Sam said and the guy looked at him like he was crazy.

"I don't know you to have this conversation."

Sam invaded his space even more. "But we're having this conversation, if you're just going to cheat don't string her along."

The man squared up his chest.

"Get the fuck out of my way."

"Or what?" Sam challenged and the guy took a swing at Sam kissing him by a few inches before Sam's fist met his jaw.

"Dude what the fuck is your problem?" He grunted out before Sam moved out of his way.

"You don't even know her dude."

Sam smirked. "That's why you're going to find out who he is so I can know." He said looking at his hand and seeing that it was cut somehow.

"Puckerman Industries isn't used to look up assholes that cheat on their fine ass women." Puck informed.

"They do now."

Waldorf Astoria

Outside of the conference room.

He took a step towards me and purposely took a step back.

I could not let this man have this much power over me.

Pretty sure my kitty laughed

Whether I wanted to admit it or not he had power over me.

My watch had been going off from missed calls, all work calls and I'm certain I had a few messages from Blaine and Mark.

That's another thing I just couldn't understand.

The Mark of it all.

If I were honest I would say he hadn't crossed my mind but I was in denial.

"God you really don't remember that night do you?" He asked before grabbing my hip and pulling me into him.

"I've told you that I don't remember ever meeting you." I replied and he nodded before opening the door and nodding Mr. Puckerman over.

"You rang?" He teased.

"We need to postpone this meeting, can you come back later this evening?"

"What, dude no. Have you met my wife?"

Wife? This man was married!

"You can bring Q." Sam replied looking at his watch. "We have reservations at 8:30-"

"We don't have anything." I said and they both just looked at me.

"We have reservations at 8:30 in the restaurant here." Sam continued.

"Fine but you're paying and I'm ordering lobster and steak." Mr. Puckerman said before turning his attention back to me. "It was truly fun seeing you again."

Had I seen him more than once?

He walked away and I felt the shift.

It was no longer all business and before I could do anything I picked up and carried back to the conference room.

He sat me down on the table, the corners of his lips turned up every so slightly.

"Don't move." He said firmly.

And I didn't, I watched him lock the door then slowly unbuttoned his shirt as he walked back to me.

I watched as every button revealed more of his amazing body to me and that's when it hit me.

I'd seen this before. The scar on his hand.

Realization hit me like a ton of bricks.

I do know him, a distance memory that I thought was some crazed dream.

It wasn't.

This man was going to do exactly what he said, fuck me until I remembered.

Well I remember.

Fuck!

Soooo... she remembers and now the question is what exactly does she remember? Also Sam being hooked from just seeing her is HOT! Also why did it take SIX years for him to find her... so many damn questions! Give me all your guesses!
