PINA
I watch the two men disappear around the corner before Dar and I move to follow the instructions Zedd gave us. Dar takes Rita, Zordon and Andros in the castle, giving me a minute with the former Red Ranger.
After Tommy stalked off, Jason dropped onto a nearby bench, looking as miserable as if he'd lost his only friend. Instead of approaching him, I reach out with my voice. "Once he calms down, he won't be happy that he tried to do that." Jason jumps slightly. "After all, you aren't the one he's really mad at." He stares at me as I continue. "I knew all that rage had to be somewhere, but he never let it go and it has been building all this time."
When Jason speaks, his voice is hollow. "I almost wish Zedd hadn't stopped him - or at least not right away."
My answer comes back as quick and sharp as a shot. "Why? So he can feel guilty too?" He looks away and then back at me. "Jason, you didn't know so you have nothing to feel guilty about. Hayley - I don't know about yet." I frown. "Although I am curious as to why none of the other Rangers saw fit to go see him. I would have thought that someone would have made the time and effort."
Jason's brow furrows. "I didn't really think about that" he admitted. "I didn't even ask Hayley. Once I found out what had happened, I was busy trying to escalate the process of dealing with that 'rehab' place and then trying to get here to see him." The young man looks at me, puzzled. "So where is everybody?"
We are both silent for several minutes, staring at each other but lost in our own thoughts - which I have no doubt are following the same path. "The only person that might have the answer to that is-"
He completes my thought, tone of voice grim. "Hayley."
