I lead the former Red Ranger to the area where Tommy and Zedd usually practice. Once we get there, I turn to him. "You were serious, right?"
"About Tommy or about sparring with you?" Both really. "About Tommy? Yes." We both start to stretch out. "Like I said, I've seen this before. About us sparring, I'm here aren't I? I wouldn't have accepted your invitation if I wasn't up for a bit of physical activity. Why?"
I sigh at his seemingly genuine question. "I don't know. Is it weird that we're sparring with each other just because there's nothing we can do to help our respective friends?"
"Nope." Oh really? "I don't know about you, but if I don't do something, I'm going to go nuts waiting. Besides from how tense you've been, at least since I've been here I'd say you're about in the same boat, right?""
"Pretty much," I admit. "Really, isn't that what all of us are doing? Trying to find something to do to kill time since we can't kill each other or fix this?"
"Exactly," Jason agrees and a few minutes later, we're sparring fiercely. In spite of the fact that he isn't Eltarian, he puts up a good fight. Not to mention that he's learned a few new moves in the years since I've seen him last. We're built roughly the same, but he's quick for a human of his size. I'd never admit it to him, but I'm enjoying myself greatly.
