Half a World Away
Maybe I was a bit greedy—yearning for that one last kiss between me and Cordy, but it was worth it.
I stood in her room, darkness surrounding me. By the moonlight that streamed in through her window, I was able to see her beautiful face and the tear-streaked cheeks.
I bent over her, seeing her lay there peacefully. She was probably having sweet dreams. I tried to caress her tear-streaked cheek, but I didn't feel anything. All I felt was the pain in my chest as I discovered I couldn't touch her, couldn't hold her, couldn't kiss her.
I stood up straight, tears in my eyes as I whispered in a hoarse voice, "Goodbye, Cordy." The light was ahead and as I stepped into the blinding light, I heard Cordelia call my name.
Was I greedy? Yeah. But it was worth it just to see her one last time.
