Disclaimer: I don't own Buffy the Vampire Slayer. Joss Whedon does, so therefore he owns Xander as well.
Summary: A poem from Xander's point of view. Takes place after the episode Dirty Girls.
From All Sides
I have seen for all my life,
Never worrying about the day
That a villain as powerful as him would be like a knife,
a 'thorn in my side', as some people would say.
I've seen the blue sky and the white clouds; I've seen my friends.
I've seen us grow stronger on the Hellmouth,
And I've seen the straight road before us evolve into twists and bends.
For us, there is no direction to run to: no west, east, north, or south.
I've seen Buffy grow braver and stronger,
Anya getting more logical,
And Giles getting smarter.
And as for Willow: for all her life, she's had a tough load to haul.
And now here we are, on the verge of an apocalypse.
From now on, there is no place to run and no place to hide.
Buffy controls us like an army, like a captain controls his own fleet of ships,
And from what I see, danger is coming at us from all sides.
