Dylan finally got the chance to take a break and headed outside to find Sam only to be ambushed by his best friend "Zoe, you're here...Already" He remarked dryly

"You could at least try to sound pleased to see me Dylan" She pulled out a cigarette case and lit one up taking a drag.

"You're early, we weren't expecting you for a few months yet. Sam is only 15 weeks you know. Nothing major is going to happen yet, she hasn't even started to show just yet" He joined the queue for the coffee van and ordered a Mocha for himself and a green tea for Sam and walked over to the ambulance station.

"When were you going to tell me that Sam wasn't a doctor anymore?" Zoe demanded

"I didn't realize it required you to know" Dylan shrugged

"Hey, you" Sam walked over and kissed his cheek and took the cup containing her tea

"Hey yourself, you are taking it easy aren't you" He looked at her with love in his eyes

"Stop fussing Grumpy, we've had a relatively quiet shift anyway. I can't do heavy lifting anyway because of you know what" She looked at him and he just knew what she meant.

Sam was shot in her right shoulder when she was in the army, and it had left some pretty significant damage to it made worse by a fall on some ice last winter and ever since then she had had difficulty with raising it above her head and there was also significant weakness.

"So, how's my god niece or nephew doing in there" Zoe walked over at last, having finished her cigarette.

"Zoe, you're early. When Nick said that you wanted to come for a visit we thought he meant you were coming when the baby was born" Sam was shocked.

"We need to be prepared for the baby's arrival" Zoe said determined

"There's another 25 weeks yet Zoe. 6 months yet, the baby isn't due till December" Dylan chided his friend

"Is it a crime to be excited about my two best friends having a baby" She looked at Dylan over the top of her sunglasses.

"Zoe are things OK with you and Nick?" Sam asked suddenly having a brainwave

"What! Yes of course they are, why would you think that they weren't?" She looked perplexed
