Chapter 3: Unexpected Reunions

Going through the portal to Dimension X was never pleasant, it was like being in the tornado from the Wizard of Oz as they spiraled through the pink void of nothingness.

Eventually, the Turtles, April, and Casey emerged from the portal as they crashed to the familiar metallic grounds of Dimension X.

"Yes! Back in Dimension X!" Mikey cheered as they got back up, gazing up at the pink-tinted sky as well as the metallic planetoids covered in crystalic trees floating in the distance. "Why hello, Scatterpillar!" He called out happily to a pair of oddly living energy balls that flew above them.

Mikey then ran up to a crystal tree with several small slugs climbing on it. "How's it going, Squeebles?" He greeted cheerfully.

The group then turned around at the sound of a loud roar to see a large Kraathatrogon Worm flying towards them. "Hey there, giant Kraang worm!" Mikey waved while everyone else screamed and clung to each other, only for an even larger rocktopus to swoop in and eat the Kraathatrogon before flying away.

"Ah, yes, bros. The circle of life." Mikey sighed, holding up a squeeble worm.

"Wow, this place is every bit as wacked up as you guys said." April said in a tone that was both mixed with awe and shock.

"This place is so cool!" Casey exclaimed, causing most of the group to look at him in shock. "Seriously, it's about time I came here!" He then ran up to the edge of the floating planetoid they were standing on and pointed towards the skies. "You better watch out, Kraang! 'Cause Dimension X is about to be jacked by Casey Jones!"

"Really, Casey? Really?" Raph questioned in annoyance. "I hate Dimension X so, so much."

"Join the club." Donnie added dryly.

"Focus, guys. We gotta move." Leo said before turning to the purple clad turtle. "Donnie, do you think you can track where the Kraang base is?"

Donnie took out his space staff and held it out, letting the end of it light up with a purple holographic display. "I don't know." He said. "We already know Dimension X is nuttier than a squirrel's lunchbox, so I don't know if traditional scanners are gonna work here."

"So what do we do now?" April asked. "Because I'm pretty sure Dimension X is the last place we want to get lost."

"Not to worry, sis. I got the answer right here!" Mikey said cheerfully before he threw down a smoke bomb, enveloping him in a cloud of purple smoke.

When the smoke cleared, Mikey had completely changed his appearance as all of his space gear was gone, replaced by two purple straps on his chest carrying several small crystals that were also attached to his belt. His arms were tied with several severed Kraang tentacles while he wore the upper half of a Kraang skull on his head like a helmet.

April and Casey looked surprised while Leo and Donnie rolled their eyes.

"Calm down, Raph. You knew this was coming. Calm down." Raph said to himself, taking in slow deep breaths.

"That's right, dudes! Savage Mikey in the house, yo!" Mikey cheered.

"'Savage Mikey'?" April asked in confusion.

"Just go with it." Donnie deadpanned. "We've learned to stop questioning it."

"Follow me, dudes!" Mikey said, already bounding across the metallic planetoids. "I know exactly where to go!"

After catching up with the savage Mikey, the group continued to swing, jump, and bound their way from planetoid to another across the void of Dimension X. And thanks to their space suits' gravity boosters, along with the outlandish physics of Dimension X, they were able to traverse the environment with relative ease.

"Dimension X rule number thirty-six, don't ever go near anything cute around here." Mikey said.

"Why not?" April asked.

"Because here in bizzaro-land, cute things try to kill you." Raph stated. "We learned that the hard way."

The group continued to bound across the scattered landscape before Mikey suddenly came to a stop at the edge of a planetoid, his stop so sudden that it caused Leo, Raph, Donnie, April, and Casey to come to a screeching halt as they crashed into each other in a small pile.

"Mikey, why'd you stop?!" Leo questioned as they straightened themselves up.

"Because we're here." Mikey gestured in front of him, toward apparently nothing.

"What? I don't see anything!" Raph pointed out.

April placed a hand on her head. "Actually, there is something." She said. "I can sense the Kraang base is right in front of us… somewhere."

"Well, I can't see anything, so how are we supposed to find it?" Casey asked.

"Like this, dawg!" Mikey said, picking up a rock before chucking it out into the apparent void, only for the rock to phase through an invisible wall and disappear behind it.

"A cloaking dome! Genius!" Donnie exclaimed.

Mikey gave a gesture that said 'shall we', before backflipping through the dome. The rest of the group quickly followed suit starting with Leo, Raph, Donnie, April, and finally Casey.

Upon passing through the cloaking dome, the group found themselves standing in the middle of a forest of crystalic trees.

Using the shadows, the group quietly traversed through the crystal forest before coming to the edge of it, spotting a large tower with a spike sphere at the top, illuminated by pink lights.

As they observed the Kraang base, Mikey hung upside down from one of the trees like Spider-Man.

"Okay, dudes, I got some good news and I got some bad news." Mikey said.

"What's the good news?" Leo asked.

"There's thousands of Kraang droids in there." Mikey replied.

Leo rolled his eyes. "I said good news."

Just then, the ground of the planetoid they were standing on shook as they heard the sounds of loud heavy footsteps coming from the Kraang base.

"I know…" Mikey said.

Two sliding doors on the sides of the base then opened as two giant humanoid rock monsters, one black and one white, stepped out.

"... that's the bad news." Mikey stated.

"Holy chalupa, Traag and Granitor!" Donnie exclaimed somewhat fearfully.

"You know these guys?!" April asked.

"Yep." Raph replied. "A couple of Dimension X hard cases."

The two rock monsters quickly noticed them as they looked down before stomping towards them, Traag spewing lava while Granitor breathed blue fire, forcing the group to dodge out of the way.

Donnie rolled out of the way of Traag's foot and fist as the rock giant attempted to crush him. He then sprung to his feet and whacked Traag's arm with his space bo staff before jumping out of the way as Traag spewed molten lava at him.

Raph and Casey dodged out of the way of Granitor's fire breath as Leo leapt up from behind, spinning himself like a tornado before coming down and slashing Granitor in the back of the head with his laser katanas.

Leo then raised his laser katanas, about to stab Granitor when his arms were suddenly grabbed by Traag as he lifted the blue clad turtle off of his fellow rock monster, about to spew lava onto the lead turtle when a photon puck and piece of crystal exploded in his face, causing him to release Leo.

"Yo, rock dudes!" Casey shouted, arming himself with several photon pucks while Mikey took several crystals off of his belt. "Taste explosive pucks and crystals!"

Casey then smacked several photon pucks at the two rock giants while Mikey threw several Kraang crystals, causing Traag and Granitor to stumble back.

"Guys! Force them both back towards the edge!" Mikey shouted, taking more crystals off of his belt.

Seeing what Mikey was planning, Leo, Raph, Donnie, Casey, and April moved in to attack the two rock giants.

Casey bashed his hockey stick against Traag's head while Donnie jabbed the black rock giant in the chest with his space staff, sending Traag stumbling back.

Raph slashed Granitor across the chest with his laser jitte before Leo leapt over his hot-headed brother and slashed the white rock giant on the head with his laser katanas and caused Granitor to stagger back.

April was last as she threw her arms forward, sending out a power telekinetic push that sent Traag and Granitor flying back towards the edge of the planetoid, but not quite going over.

As Traag and Granitor stood at the edge of the planetoid, Mikey readied himself before letting out a loud high-pitched scream, causing the ground beneath the two rock giants to crack before breaking off completely and sending Traag and Granitor plunging into the abyss.

"Nice work, Mikey." Leo complimented.

"Why thanks, Leo." Mikey beamed. "Now let's move!"

With the immediate threat dealt with, the group made their way into the complex.

Infiltrating the Kraang base was not difficult as they snuck in through the ventilation system before coming down into the clear hallways.

Quietly, the group made their way down the halls before stopping around a corner. Peeking out from behind the corner, they spotted a pair of Kraang droids strolling by a variety of prison cells and coming their way.

"Kraang must prepare to transfer the cargo also known as the prisoners to the place that is known as the main base." One of the Kraang droids said.

As the two Kraang droids rounded the corner, they were immediately met by Raph's laser jitte as he stabbed them both in the heads, practically decapitating them and letting the two Kraang droids fall to the ground.

Before the two Kraang could skitter away, Mikey grabbed ahold of them and bashed them into each other, knocking them out, before throwing them away.

"So the Kraang's cargo is a group of prisoners?" Donnie said once they were sure the coast was clear.

"Sounds like it." Leo said quietly. "Alright, let's check every cell, see if we can find these prisoners and find out why they're so important."

One by one, the group checked each of the cells, only to find several of them were empty, with no signs of any prisoners anywhere.

Raph let out a quiet grumble of frustration as he looked into another empty cell. "This is pointless." He said impatiently.

"We just have to keep searching, Raph." April said calmly as she peeked into another vacant cell. "We just have to be patient."

"Yeah, well, it's hard to be patient when we're supposed to be searching for these super important prisoners while we're neck-deep in Kraang country!" Raph quietly hissed.

"Hello? Is someone there?"

Startled by the sudden (and rather familiar) voice, the group turned towards the cell where the voice had come from, quickly rushing over and peeking through the window to the cell.

And their eyes widened upon seeing a certain group of animals, one a panda, another a tiger, a viper, a crane, a monkey, and a mantis.

"Po?! Tigress?!" Leo exclaimed in shock.

"Viper?! Crane?!" Donnie and Mikey exclaimed.

"Monkey?! Mantis?!" Raph, April, and Casey all yelled.

Po and the Furious Five looked back through the glass, the panda in particular laughing in happiness.

"Leo?!" Tigress exclaimed in surprise.

"Raph?! April?!" Viper exclaimed.

"Donnie?!" Crane yelled.

"Mikey?! Casey?!" Monkey and Mantis both yelled.

"Oh, you have idea how happy we are to see you guys!" Po exclaimed joyfully.

"Quick, let us out of here!" Monkey said.

Raph quickly rushed over to the door lock mechanism, stabbing it with his laser jitte until it finally unlocked, allowing the cell door to open.

There was a moment of silence as the two groups stared at each other before rushing towards each other and wrapped themselves in a tight group hug.

"Oh, dudes, I missed you guys!" Mikey cried happily.

"We missed you guys too, Mikey." Viper giggled as they broke apart. She then furrowed her brow at Leo, Raph, Donnie, April, and Casey's space gear and Mikey's savage costume. "And from the looks of it, you've all got some spiffy new outfits."

"Seriously, what are you guys doing here?" Casey said.

"The Kraang ambushed us at the Jade Palace." Tigress explained. "We held them off as best we could but were quickly overwhelmed and captured."

"Where are we even?" Mantis questioned. "How are you guys here, anyway?"

"To answer your question, we are in Dimension X." Donnie answered. "Homeworld of the Kraang."

Po and the Five looked at each other with wide eyes. They were in another dimension?

"So, any idea who is leading these Kraang?" Leo asked curiously.

"No idea." Crane replied. "Though I think we heard them talking about how they were going to move us to a different base, something about how we were going to be their key instrument for their revenge."

"Well, then we better get out of here before they go through with that." Raph said.

"Alright, follow me! Savage Mikey knows exactly where to go!" Mikey said, much to Po and the Five's surprise.

"'Savage Mikey'?" Monkey questioned.

"Long story short, he got stranded in Dimension X one time and he knows all the ins and outs of this place." Donnie quickly explained.

"Seriously?" Tigress questioned with a slightly skeptical tone in her voice.

"Believe it or not, his advice here is actually really helpful." Leo vouched for his youngest brother.

"Well then, lead the way, Savage Mikey!" Po cheered.

Stealthily crawling through the hallways, the group quickly made it outside of the base and into a yard of stealth ships.

While they were there, Po, Tigress, Viper, Crane, Monkey, and Mantis took their time to take in everything outside.

"Wow… so this is where the Kraang live?" Viper said, rather astonished as they gazed out at the pink sky.

They were then forced to duck as a Kraathatrogon flew over them, the baby face on it's tail giggling as it disappeared out of sight.

"Freeeeeakshow." Mantis remarked.

"There's no sun, no plants or water, how can anything live here?" Crane questioned as he looked around at the sky before gazing at the crystal trees all around them.

"This is so freaky but so awesome at the same time." Po whispered in awe. "Wait, is that a giant eyeball in the sky?"

Tigress felt her jaw opening and closing at the same time as her wide amber eyes gazed around. Never in all her life had she seen anything so… bizarre. She almost felt a little faint at seeing this insanity, but her rational side managed to allow her to keep her composure.

"No time for sight-seeing, team." Leo whispered. "We've got to get to one of those ships." He pointed to the several stealth ships ahead of them.

"That's right. Stay frosty, guys, and keep quiet." Mikey said with a sharp, commanding voice. "And all those other Leo-isms Leo likes to say."

Leo let out an aggravated sigh at that remark from his baby brother, but he wasn't about to argue.

Quietly, the group snuck over, taking out the Kraang droids guarding the area before getting inside one of the ships.

"Get this baby moving, Dee!" Mikey ordered.

"I'm starting it! I'm starting it!" Donnie said as he hurried over to the controls, pressing several buttons on the steering panel.

Seconds later, the entire interior of the ship lit up with a pink glow, the engine humming to life.

"So you really know how to fly this… thing?" Crane asked as he, Po, and the rest of the Five gazed around in the ship unsurely.

Donnie let out a laugh. "Of course I can! I've done it before."

"Well then get this bird in the air already!" Casey yelled.

Grumbling under his breath, Donnie moved over to the side as he began to work the control panel. "Alright, I'll work the scanners. Raph and Casey, man the weapons. Mikey, April, navigation. Leo, you drive."

"Why not me?" Mikey asked, raising his hand.

Donnie shot him a deadpanned look. "Because Leo's less likely to hit or zap something just for fun."

"True." Mikey begrudgingly admitted.

"What about us?" Po asked, referring to himself and the Five. "Is there anything we can do?"

Donnie lightly shook his head. "Well, unless any of you know how to operate advanced alien technology from another dimension, I'd probably suggest you should all take a back-seat on this one, no offense of course." He said, to which Po and the Five reluctantly agreed.

Leo placed his hands on the driving orb as it slowly and shakily took off from the ground. "Alright, I got this." He said, more to himself than the others.

As soon as he said that, the stealth ship promptly lost power and crashed to the ground with an earth-shaking thud, rattling the passengers inside like a maraca.

Leo's attempts to get them back in the air had them swinging from side to side like a top that had lost it's spin, making the blue clad turtle laugh sheepishly as his brothers and friends glared at him slightly.

Finally, Leo managed to get the ship to right itself and they took off into the air at great speeds.

"Alright, now that we're in the air, now where do we go?" Raph questioned.

"Oh, I got this, dudes." Mikey said before he opened the hatch on the ceiling and climbed out onto the roof of the ship. He then raised his hand, pressing his thumb against his forehead and wiggling his fingers in the air, much to Po, the Five, April, and Casey's confusion.

"Dare I ask what you're doing?" Tigress asked.

"I'm trying to sense where the biggest collection of Kraang is with my organic antenna." Mikey replied in a tone of utter seriousness despite how ridiculous he looked, holding his hands against his head like antlers and making an odd humming sound with his mouth.

As he did that, Mikey began to do a little jig around the top of the stealth ship, all the while waving his hands and humming.

Po, Tigress, Viper, Crane, Monkey, Mantis, April, and Casey looked at the party turtle as though they were questioning his sanity before they looked to Leo, Raph, and Donnie who gazed back at them with flat looks.

"Don't question it." Donnie said simply.

Finally, Mikey stopped his little dance as he pointed outward in a random direction. "That way!" He said before jumping back into the stealth ship.

The others exchanged glances as they pondered Mikey's decision before they all looked to April expectantly.

April, figuring what they wanted her to do, lightly placed her fingers on her helmet, reaching out with her psychic powers. "He's right." She confirmed. "All of the remaining Kraang are gathering somewhere in that direction." She then pointed the same random direction that Mikey had pointed.

"Well you heard them, Leo." Raph told the blue clad turtle, "Full speed ahead!"

Leo nodded before he smacked the driving orb and made it spin, causing the ship to surge forwards in the direction both Mikey and April had pointed.

Floating out in the expansive pink void was a giant metallic orb covered in pink lights and blaster cannons.

This was the Kraang's ultimate weapon, the Technodrome.

And inside the piloting chamber, three Kraang droids worked the controls as their robotic fingers moved around on the steering boards.

Just then, a small beeping sound sounded throughout the room as a small picture screen showed up in front of them, showing them a Kraang stealth ship flying their way.

"Kraang detects a small stealth ship heading for that which is known as the Technodrome." One of the Kraang droids said. "Shall we let it do that which is known as land?"

Another Kraang droid pressed several more weapons on the control panel. "Kraang detects life forms on the ship that are not Kraang." The Kraang droid said before turning to a figure cast in the shadows behind them. "Shall Kraang eliminate the ship that has been that which is known as hijacked?"

The figure was silent before he simply nodded.

So now both parties have reunited! But who is this mysterious figure now leading the Kraang? Tune in next time to find out! (Also, just found out about the announcement for Kung Fu Panda 4. I'm both excited and nervous!)
