Yeah, sorry for the long wait, don't know why it took me this long to make a chapter. And what better way to do that is by doing a chapter on the cringiest episodes of the entire series.
Also, I have a poll on my profile, and I hope you all check it out and vote.
I own none of the content, and I hope you enjoy.
Episode: Scott's Tots (Season 6, Episode 12)
Scott's Tots
Michael was at a crossroads, he had to figure out a way to those kids why he couldn't pay for any of their college, even though he promised them. He already thought of a couple of options.
The first was to just get out of dodge and run, but that wouldn't work.
The second was actually telling them why he couldn't, but that would hurt more, and he knew he should do it, but had to look at his other options.
The third was buying a busload of Lottery Tickets and scratchers, and hope he would get a jackpot, or enough money.
The third option was sounding good, and he was just about to go and ask Dwight to buy out as much as he could, when he then realized he had another option, and it involved a certain white haired employee.
"I realized, I should've asked Lincoln, I mean he's the 'man with the plan', and I knew he could get me out of this. Besides, we best buds, he'll totally understand." Michael said with a relieved look as he was interviewed.
Lincoln was working at his desk, when he heard Michael call for him. He got up, and walked into his boss's office.
"What is it Michael?" He asked.
"Please close the door, and close the shades. I need your help with something that is extremely important."
That caused Lincoln to worry, and he prepared himself for whatever situation or shenanigan Michael had gotten himself into this time. But he complied, and did just that.
The camera crew outside of Michael's office got a full view of the office, which showed everyone working, or not to subtly looking at Michaels office.
It would be a minute or so later when everyone jumped, and looked at Michael's closed office, after they heard a loud yell of.
"What is wrong with you?!" Came Lincoln's disbelieving voice.
Pam bit her lip, and looked at the camera. She had a feeling what Lincoln had just found out, and she looked over to Phyllis's and Stanley's desk, due to the latter laughing at his desk.
Inside Lincoln could only look at his boss in both disbelief and anger.
"I know it looks bad, but it isn't." Michael tried to diffuse.
Lincoln groaned loudly, and sat in one of the chairs. He counted to ten, and looked at his boss.
"Michael, you basically promised a bunch of kids that you'll help them with college, by paying everything for them once they graduated High School. And now, ten years now, you don't have the funds to do it, and you basically stomped on their hopes and dreams. Also, you're a white guy who promised a group of black kids, that's even worse." Lincoln explained.
Lincoln knew Michael didn't do it out of malicious intent, and did it for a good cause and reason. But to not be able to fulfill the promise he made, that was just plain wrong.
"And that's why I asking for your help. I had the best intentions, but things didn't work out the way I planned. I need to know what I should do." Michael pleaded.
Lincoln knew he shouldn't, but he would a terrible person not to help him.
Lincoln sighed, and said," Okay, when the last time you talked to any of them? Do you get any updates?"
"I do get updates, but I haven't directly talked to any of them in a while. I had Erin reschedule the meeting a couple of time. And now I'm meeting them this Friday."
The gears in Lincoln's head already started turning, and he had a plan forming. "Alright, it's Monday, so we have time. Normally, I would say you should come clean and tell the truth, but I'm pretty sure the end result won't be good. And I have an idea, and it involves bringing someone down here. Michael, pray that this whole thing will go smoothly."
Michael ran around his desk, and have the white haired worker a huge hug. And Lincoln could only pat his back.
It was Friday, and it was after Michael's visit to the High School that the kids he promised to pay their college went to.
And Lincoln could say this plan went pretty well. And it may have been one of his most elaborate ones yet.
Lincoln had called Clyde, and after explaining everything, his friend had arrived in Scranton the next day after Michael had told Lincoln, due to him being part of the plan. The plan was for him and Clyde to pretend to be Lawyers, that represented Michael and The Michael Scott Foundation, and they had handled the money that Michael supposedly accumulated over the years. They settled on the fake amount at $200,000, and the money had been stolen.
The cover story was that they had a third partner (Michael got the idea to name the third partner, Toby, but they shot that down), and he had stolen and ran off with it recently. And they still haven't found the guy. They had also came up with a fake article about the supposed theft, and he had called Lisa to make a couple of more fake ones online, incase anyone went to look it up.
Clyde did an excellent job of pretending to be devastated, but Lincoln knew some of it was real, due to his friend not liking to trick people.
That led to Michael tearfully apologizing to the kids, he didn't have to fake it, he really felt horrible for not going through his promise.
All the kids, and the teachers were rightfully devastated as well, but they understood, and accepted the bogus story, even though they still looked sad.
Lincoln would've been too, especially during song the kids made, the cheering, the speeches about there being good people in the world, and all the thank you's they gave to Michael. That had to be one of the most awkward and nerve wracking situations he had ever been in, and he felt guilty for roping Clyde into this, but best friends had their back, and he promised to make it up to him.
Right now, him and Clyde were sitting in the back of Michael's car, while Michael sat in the front passengers seat, and Erin drove the car. Erin had given them all a pep talk earlier, explaining how all the kids had the grades to get into good colleges, and what they did may have been deceitful, but it was for a good reason. It helped, but didn't make it all better.
"Michael." Lincoln said.
"Yes Lincoln?"
"Don't ever make a promise you can't keep, ever again."
"Yeah, that had to be one of the worst scenarios I've ever been in." Clyde said.
"Yeah, I pro... I got it, yeah." Michael simply said.
