Chapter 6: Loverboy

"Yeah, you can call me lover boy~ They say I throw my heart around~ And you can be my lover girl~!"
Taylor was in her first class sitting and paying attention to what was going on in the front class, but really she was also thinking about Lincoln and the kiss she had given him the other last night at the concert.
Believe it or not, She had not regretted doing so, but it wasn't about that. Taylor didn't think it was a good idea to push the relationship any farther than they should, there was a part of her that liked the idea of dating Lincoln, but a much bigger part of her told her not to ruin their friendship, after all, she didn't even know herself if he liked her back or would return the small feelings she had for him.
So why have the heartbreak? Instead of letting her heart be broken, she decided that it was better to push these feelings away.
Still, the small part of her that wanted to be with Lincoln told her to think about his feelings, think about how he might feel. Which then made her began to think that maybe there was a chance.
There was a chance that Lincoln might like her back and maybe they could be together. It wasn't like he was undatable. He was a nice person and quite handsome, not only that, he was sweet. She saw how sweet he could be when he was with Lily, he did everything to please his little sister, but he was also strict with her.
Not only was he sweet, but he could be very brave when he wanted to, back when they were in middle school, he had stood up to her and her friends on the bus and even at school.
He had guts and Taylor like that about him.
He was kind, and while many people saw that as a weakness, she didn't because she also knew that when it really mattered, Lincoln was the bravest person and still be very kind to even those who did him wrong. He was of the most amazing people she had ever met. Hell, he even inspired others to be brave and to stand up with him.
Many of his friends could have left him after he was their prime target for bullying but they never did because he showed them that they could be brave and that they could be stronger together.
Sure, Taylor had noticed those qualities about him and she figured he was just some dumb kid trying to act tough.
he hated that about people, people who hide behind that false curtain of being tough when in actuality they were just fragile people, and because of that fake toughness, they thought they could do whatever they wanted at others. But now she had found out how wrong she was about Lincoln and just how matured he really was.
'Oh god...' Taylor thought to herself 'I like Lincoln Loud'
And with that realization, Taylor had no idea what she would do next. She liked him, she really, really, liked him but did she really want to date right now? Was it really the right time?
She enjoyed the kiss. The intimacy was great, she loved the hot passion of that night... so maybe they didn't have to date right, I mean, it could work out right?
What if instead, they could just do some kissing? or maybe something more? It couldn't hurt to try to just be friends with benefits at first, ya know, to see where it goes and if Taylor liked what was going on between them, then maybe they could do somethings together and even began to date.
It wasn't a bad idea, and technically they would be dating, they were just doing some intimate things that both of them would enjoy. Sure there might be feelings at some point in time but those could always wait.
However, she also shouldn't decide this for herself, she did have to ask how Lincoln felt about all this and also see what it was he wanted out of all of this, and if he wanted to date first, then she could simply tell him about what she wanted, but if he didn't agree then they could just stay friends...
She just hoped nothing wrong went...

"I'll show you how to fall in love~! We'll be the talk of all the town~!"
Lincoln was feeling a lot better and he was currently on his way to Lunch. Lincoln smiled most of the entire time he was in his classes, he had slept well once again, and truthfully, he didn't know why. Well, he knew why, he just was just a little afraid to admit it.
It was because Taylor had kissed him at the Concert a few days ago, since then, he could not stop feeling a warm feeling in his chest and he kind of couldn't stop smiling. The kiss was unexpected for sure, he had not expected Taylor to kiss him, but he found that the kiss was not unwelcome. Lincoln quite enjoyed it and while it was on his mind, the girl who gave it to him was on his mind a lot more.
Taylor had grown closer to him and he with her, but with the kiss, not only did some warm feelings arise for Lincoln, but it also brought up some questions, like if she was interested in him? Or was the kiss a bit of an "In the Moment" kind of thing? Did he like her back? Or did he also just kind of get lost in the Moment? He pondered if this might be real or if they had just made their already unusual friendship just a bit more complicated while Lincoln
He continued to walk and think about this, but he eventually found himself at his locker and he then focused on getting ready for lunch and then for his next class. Lincoln did his code and then he opened his locker, but as he did, he noticed that there was a note inside and he knew that the note wasn't there before.
'Odd, when was this here?' Lincoln asked himself
He grabbed the note from out of his locker and saw that it was addressed to him, and all the sender wrote their name was was "Ms. WallFlower". He found the name a little odd but then again, he had white hair. He opened the note and read it to himself.
"Dear Lincoln Loud,
I have to confess that I have feelings for you... I know how weird it must be for someone like me, a stranger, to admit their feelings for you, but I can't help these feelings.
You have always noticed me when no one else did and you have helped me a lot when others didn't and I have found myself falling for you. So if you want to know who I am... please meet me in the Library after school this Friday.
Sincerely, Ms. WallFlower"
Finishing reading it, Lincoln couldn't help but find his interest piqued. He had never been confessed by anyone and wondered who this "Ms. WallFlower" was, and why she had liked him so much, and he couldn't help but smile.
Suddenly, His locker was shut closed and Lincoln jumped a little as he heard it slam shut, and he jumped and he quickly turned to see who had closed it only to see the very person he had been thinking about for the past two days. Taylor was standing next to him and she looked at him with a bit of a brow raised as she looked at him.
"Jesus Taylor!" Lincoln cried "You scared the crap out of me!" Lincoln told her
"Not my fault that you scare so easily," Taylor said with a chuckle "What's that?" she asked pointing at the note in Lincoln's hands.
Lincoln was going to tell her but he stopped himself and thought back to the kiss. He wanted to talk to her about it and he thought that it might have been better if he didn't tell her about the note just yer, hoping to know what was going on between them before he told her or even mentioned it so that he could possibly come to a decision to meet this "Mrs. WallFlower".
"It's just a few notes I left from last week," Lincoln told her as he folded up the letter.
Taylor didn't pay it any mind and took it as the answer, and decided to say what she came here for, "Hey Linc... I was wondering if you wanted to eat lunch with me and if you wanted to hang out later after school?" She asked him
"You mean a playdate with Lily and Mikey?" Lincoln asked
Taylor shook her head, "Nah, just you and me, ya know?" she asked with a smile
Lincoln was surprised about this, but it just made him feel a lot better, and it kinda made his assumption about Taylor liking him grow, so a smile graced his face as he looked to her and nodded, "Sure, sounds like fun" He replied
She smiled and nodded, "Sweet," She said, "you ready to head to lunch?" She asked
He nodded and he turned to make sure his locker we completely closed and when it was he followed Taylor to the lunchroom to get whatever it was they were serving at the lunchroom.
They both were unaware that they were being watched from afar by a very shy girl...

"We'll be the talk of all the town~! Now everybody wants to be like us~!"
After lunch, classes resumed but that didn't really matter to Lincoln, he just for some reason couldn't wait till the end of the day.
After all, he might be going on a date. Well, he shouldn't think like that, after all, how many times has he screwed the pooch with a girl because he thought they liked him back or because he thought it was a date.
So for now, it was just a hangout between friends. Lincoln was just hanging out with Taylor. Ya know... The girl he liked after the kiss at his sister's concert
'oh my god, I have it bad...' Lincoln told himself
"Psst!"
Lincoln looked around as it sounded like someone was trying to get his attention. He finally spotted Stella looking at him from his left side.
"What's up?" He asks quietly
"Where were you during lunch dude?" Stella asked, "we didn't see you the entire time, did something happen?" She asked again
Lincoln shook his head, "Nah, nothing happened I was just eating lunch with someone else" Lincoln told her
Stella looked confused, "who?" She asked
"Taylor" Lincoln said
Stella looked shocked, "hold up, Taylor! The Taylor who bullied us back in the day?" Stella asked
Lincoln nodded
"Why?" Stella asked
"We've been hanging out after school sometimes because Lily and her little brother, Mikey, are friends," Lincoln told her "And we've been talking them to the park so they could play together, which means we've also had to talk and hang out, and believe it or not she's actually really nice" Lincoln finished
Stella was a bit confused but she just nodded and accepted his words, Lincoln was usually a good judge of character. "Alright, I'll take your word but just don't forget about the rest of us," Stella said with a smile
Lincoln just smiled back, "of course," he said
The two went back to paying attention to the lessons they were being taught.
The rest of the day continued as normal. Classes went on, teachers taught whatever it was they were teaching and Lincoln either found it great or utterly boring to the point he began to sleep in class.
Eventually, school ended and Lincoln grabbed what he needed from his teacher and from his locker and then he looked to his phone and texted Taylor on where to meet after he texted it didn't take long for her to reply and she told him to meet him at the Park and so he would do so. He left the school and made his way to the park and also texted his family that he was going to meet up with one of his friends.
After a while of walking, Lincoln had arrived at the park, however, he had realized that Taylor never gave him an exact spot, but he had a feeling he knew exactly where she had wanted to meet up with him. He walked to the playground and looked around before finally spotting Taylor sitting on the very same bench that they would watch their little sibling play. A smile graced his freckled face and he walked over to her and sat down next to her.
Lincoln and Taylor sat together and they both turned to look at each other and they had smiled.
"So, what did you wanna talk to me about?" Lincoln asked
"About the kiss, and maybe even about us," Taylor said with a sigh, "Lincoln... I don't regret the kiss, I liked it, and I'm sure you did as well" She said
Lincoln just bashfully looked to the ground but nodded, which made Taylor smile
"I'm glad that you liked it too... because I wouldn't mind doing it again," Taylor told him
Lincoln looked at her, "I'm sensing a "but" here" He said
"But I don't think I'm ready for a relationship," Taylor said
Lincoln nodded in understanding, "I get it" He said
"But I still want to be with you Linc... I just don't want anything committed right now" Taylor said
They at in silence for a while, Lincoln debating on what to say next or what even to do. Taylor just waited for his answer, wondering just what he would do next, would he not want to hang out with her anymore?
"Taylor I get it, I'm not mad," Lincoln told her as he looked back to her "but if you still want to be with me but not go out with me... then what are we?" he asked
Taylor looked at him and thought about it. They weren't dating, they weren't boyfriend or girlfriend, they weren't friends with benefits, they were just two people in young love. Just two stupid teenagers in all their hormonal love... they were just them.
Taylor smiled softly at him and without hesitating, she took his hand in hers, "We're us" she told him
Lincoln looked to his hand and then he had looked back to her and he too smiled softly at her, "Yeah... we're us" He told her
And with that, they just sat there and talked about their day. It appeared, that for them, just being them was good enough for now.
But just being them wasn't going to cut it for long...

Oh! what's gonna happen next!? Who's watching them? what mischievous hormonal shenanigans will ensue!? Will their relationship last!? Will it grow!?
