Hey everyone! I hope you enjoyed the first chapter! I hope you enjoy chapter 2!

Tatsumi was smiling. For most people, an earth dragon appearing was not something to be joyous about, but something to fear and avoid at all costs. But Tatsumi isn't a normal person. He had already received extreme training both from instructors and from nature itself. Living life in a village on the outskirts of the empire, away from quick military reinforcement, away from the safety of numbers, every day could potentially be a fight for your life. So yes, the danger in this situation was still very deadly, but it wasn't new. The earth dragon roared, unhinging its jaw as crumbles of dirt fell to the earth, the sound loud enough to cause men to lose their balance, but Tatsumi was stern, and like a lighthouse that braves the waves of the ocean,Tatsumi held fast and stood tall.

He quickly dropped his backpack to the ground, he didn't need the extra weight on him as he fought. The men in the military band all quickly went into formation, the shield bearers in the front forming a wall in front of the dragon, and the spear men quickly lining up behind them, positioning their spears in between the gaps of the shields, meant to defend themselves from the mighty beast. The dragon bellowed once more and fully emerged from the ground, its body caked in mud and dirt from the soil it rose. One heavy footfall after another, each leaving an indention on the earth, the beast charged the men, the mud and soil on its face clearly beginning to harden as it was prepared to charge the men down. The men held their ground, fully bracing for impact, but as the beast kept getting faster and faster with each step, the loud thuds shaking even the very trees down to their roots, the men held fast, but softly trembling as this mighty beast charged them down. As the beast got closer and closer, picking up more and more speed, the military men saw a shadow fly over the shield wall, and the boy they picked up along the ride casting that very shadow. Tatsumi, with blade drawn, flies over the men, and sticks his blade into the side of the beast's head. His blade doesn't fully pierce the hardened mud, but sticks in deep enough for Tatsumi to pull off his goal. With Tatsumi's weight on the blade, he pulls as hard as he can, diverting the earth dragon's charge away from the men, and towards the thicket of trees on the side of the road. Right before impact, Tatsumi rips the blade out of the side of the hardened mud on the dragon, and rolls onto the road again, and with the momentum already being charged, the earth dragon has no choice but to keep charging into the trees.

The men stand dumbfounded at the feat Tatsumi just pulled, but quickly regain their composure, and turn to face the earth dragon that now lies face first into numerous fallen trees. They advance step by step towards the earth dragon, never breaking formation, the methodical sound of boots marching in unison as the beast groans softly.

Meanwhile, Tatsumi quickly gets up and brushes the dirt off his clothes and resumes his stance once again, waiting for the earth dragon's next move. He glances over, his emerald green eyes falling on the troop of soldiers slowly advancing towards the beast. Tatsumi can't help but be inspired, hoping to one day be a part of their ranks to the exact efficiency that they perform, and to help others against these very beasts. But Tatsumi's day dreaming moment was quickly abrupt as the beast turned around, facing the military men and Tatsumi again. But the beast quickly disregarded the men and focused on Tatsumi, seeing him as the immediate threat.

The dragon huffed and immediately charged Tatsumi, its speed just as quick as before, and hardened the mud again, repairing the damage it took from crashing into the trees. Tatsumi's eyes widened, and he quickly dashed to the side as the beast charged again, but as Tatsumi dodged to the side, the beast immediately slammed its feet to the ground, grinding itself to a halt and using its long tail to swipe at Tatsumi. Being already in an unsavory spot, Tatsumi was unable to dodge again, so instead he quickly braced for impact by pulling his arms to his chest and took the blow from the beast, knocking him several feet away and landing on his back. Upon landing on the ground, Tatsumi coughs, the air escaping his lungs as the wind was knocked out of him.

He quickly rises up again, and resumes his defensive stance and smirks again, ready to fight this beast once more. "Bring it on."

The beast roars again and quickly charges towards Tatsumi, its footsteps faster than before, leaving deeper and heavier imprints in the earth, fully prepared to kill this new foe in front of it.

A giant winged beast soared through the air silently, the gentle flapping of wings filling the air. The wind rushed past it, and the sun shined brightly on its back as it flew towards the capital. Upon this winged creature, a lone figure was standing on it, white high heels softly digging into its back, and a soft sigh could be heard.

"Well, I was at least hoping that the north would provide something to entertain me with. Well, it is my fault for getting my hopes up for such weaklings."

The beast this woman was riding let out a roar, the sound filling the air, to which was responded with a quick stomp into its back. "Now now, remember your place, beast." To which the beast quickly closed its mouth and continued flying towards the capital. The woman sighed again, truly and utterly bored, so she rode in silence for a while, her ice blue hair flowing in the wind. After a period of riding in silence, she could hear the sounds of battle coming down from the road below her and made the beast fly slower, and upon closer inspection she could see multiple men from the empire's military fighting a beast dragon, as well as a brown haired young man. She couldn't help but grin devilishly to herself as she saw what was unfolding down below her, "Well, at least this can keep me entertained for a few minutes."

Well there you have it! Chapter two! I am sorry this one is short as well, but I do promise the chapters will get longer over time, mainly once I am a bit more confident in my writing skill haha. I really hope you enjoyed it! Please feel free to leave a review, and I truly look forward to seeing you all next time!
