"The Girl Next Door"
Chapter 1

I do own these characters. They are mine. Based off of real people and real situations.

The school bell rang. I looked around, smiling. Everyone picked up their old papers and threw them up in the air. The school year was finally over and it was officially summer. I threw up all my old school papers, the splashed down everyone near me. "Have a nice summer, everybody! I'll see you all next year, and if not, it was a great year!" Mr. Richingson yelled over the sound of students zooming down the halls.

I had gotten my things and caught up with my friends. We all had different homerooms, full of tons of different people. My friends were the best in the world. "Annie!" they yelled as they all hugged me. I was the center of attention all of a sudden? Then it hit me. This was the last school year we were going to have all together for a long time.

I was moving. Just the thought of the word made me want to crawl into a hole. My expression didn't hide, either. My friends looked at me. "Hey, you'll see us all the time! You just wont be going to the same school. It isn't all that bad" Katie said while rubbing my back.

"Yeah, I know, but I hate moving. You have to start all over again. New neighbors, a new school, it's just so stupid." I replied, still yearning for that hole. "Annie!" Kelsey almost yelled. "It's not that bad! Don't be so upset. I mean, you'll still see us after school whenever you want, and on the weekends" Kelsey explained. She had a point.

"Kelsey, it's not just you guys. It's my parents stressed out about getting everything clean and together for the move, finding me a new school before fall, making friends in the neighborhood, you know how those things go. They stress me to the max" I said walking down the paper filled halls, with my head tilted back and my eyes squeezed together. I did not want to move. Not at all.

"Don't worry, we're here for you, Annie. You've always been here for us. I mean, remember when I had just moved here?" Sabrina made a silly face. "How could I forget?"

"Do you also remember how you were there to show me my classes, who the nice people were, who not to mess with?"

"Yes, Sabrina." I said, now smiling a little from the good old memories.

"Well we can help you out, just like you helped me out." Sabrina said as she locked arms with me, as Katie locked her arm with my other arm, Kelsey locked with Katie's other arm. We were a chain. It seemed we were unbreakable. It was true; they would be here for me. I felt better. "Ok. Thanks you guys." I hugged my friends once again and we continued walking down the halls.

By the time we reached the end of the halls, Katie's mom was there in the car waiting for us. We all got into the car.

"Hey mom" Katie said as she kissed her mother's cheek. Katie was obviously bursting with joy now that school was out. "Hello sweetie" Katie's mom replied sweetly. Katie's mom, Mrs. Thompson was like a second mother to me. Their home was my second home. We were all like family.

Mrs. Thompson had driven out of the parking lot and drove us all to my house. They were going to help me pack. They had already cheered me up like the best friends they were.

I felt better. My friends said they would help me through all of this. I know they will. This summer Sabrina was getting her drivers license and she would come pick me up from school and we could do homework together like we used to.

I was determined to make this a good move. I was forced against my will to move, but I guess it wouldn't be all that bad. I just needed my friends by my side. They were my medicine, or better yet my drug.

I was ever so happily addicted.

Well that's the first chapter! It was just the plot opening but I still hope you liked it. Please tell me what you think!
